(UCM60102U) Introduction
About the Site
2
Jalan Prima 2, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur
The site is located in Jalan Prima 2 in Kepong. The area is mainly
populated by Chinese, thus, it’s surrounded by Chinese-owned
businesses around the site. The football field onsite is frequently
used by the locals during the afternoon before going for dinner by
the row of food stalls opposite the road. Nearby landmarks include
the AEON Metro Prima Mall and AEON Big Kepong Mall.
People speak mostly in Hokkien, Mandarin, and Malay there.
During the weekends, locals can be seen relaxing by the food stalls
mingling with each other. The site itself is usually hot due to
tropical weather but there are trees by the sidewalk that provide
cooling shade. The traffic is usually tame because the roads are
wide and parking spaces abundant. The site is not a popular spot
to visit so it is not crowded at all.

Accoya Street Furniture
6
About the Project
• Designers wanted to have a pedestrian friendly
environment, hence creating a street furniture
out of Accoya wood.
• 15m3 of Accoya wood was used for the seating,
4 large planters, additional smaller planters and
2 large deck areas.
• The log seating works as a sun trap and recalls
the elements of the nearby foreshore.
• Accoya was the chosen site for its outstanding
durability and stability, non toxic process and
environmental credentials.
