1. Solar Lamp by Yanko Design Group.
2. sTREEt Lamp by KiBiSi.
3. Accoya Street Furniture by Isthmus.
9. Spatial Design :
3. 10. Values :
- Environmental awareness by providing trash bins for users to use.
- Locals develop good sportsmanship behavior through interaction with the viewing
crowd.
- The structure's use of disposed material may influence the user into being more
environmentally conscious and waste less.
11. Creativity / Innovation :
- Local football fields are mostly never accompanied with a crowd viewing bench, thus,
this installation can connect the locals better through sports.
- The structure is made up of almost entirely wooden pellets and binding materials,
giving us freedom to design the installation freely.
- The seats are elevated to allow the crowd to watch football matches more clearly.

(UCM60102U) Introduction
About the Site
2
Jalan Prima 2, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur
The site is located in Jalan Prima 2 in Kepong. The area is mainly
populated by Chinese, thus, it’s surrounded by Chinese-owned
businesses around the site. The football field onsite is frequently
used by the locals during the afternoon before going for dinner by
the row of food stalls opposite the road. Nearby landmarks include
the AEON Metro Prima Mall and AEON Big Kepong Mall.
People speak mostly in Hokkien, Mandarin, and Malay there.
During the weekends, locals can be seen relaxing by the food stalls
mingling with each other. The site itself is usually hot due to
tropical weather but there are trees by the sidewalk that provide
cooling shade. The traffic is usually tame because the roads are
wide and parking spaces abundant. The site is not a popular spot
to visit so it is not crowded at all.

Strength
• Sufficient parking for locals
Weakness
• Noisy, lack of street lighting, no proper resting
area, lack of rubbish bins and poor safety
Opportunity
• A proposed resting space for the public
Threat
• Possible vandalism and misuse of structure

Solar Lamp
4
About the Project
• By Yanko Design Group - Combining solar
power and waste disposal to encourage users
to be environmentally aware.
• Both ideas collides together in flourishing the
site well.
• The garbage collector has its own icons/labels
to indicate the uses respectively.
• The lamp uses solar power - absorbs enough
solar power to use for the night to punctuate
out light for the people who are walking
around.

Accoya Street Furniture
6
About the Project
• Designers wanted to have a pedestrian friendly
environment, hence creating a street furniture
out of Accoya wood.
• 15m3 of Accoya wood was used for the seating,
4 large planters, additional smaller planters and
2 large deck areas.
• The log seating works as a sun trap and recalls
the elements of the nearby foreshore.
• Accoya was the chosen site for its outstanding
durability and stability, non toxic process and
environmental credentials.

(UCM60102U) User Experience 9
1. The wide field offers the
residents the
entertainments. At the
same time, the food stalls
serve the excellent food
and drinks. It is a great spot
to chill with friends for all
age groups.
3. Good place to socialize
with friends and watch
football.
2. Street-lighting can be used
to promote security in the
residential area and to
increase the quality of life
by artificially extending the
hours in which it is light so
that activity can take place.
