FINAL INDIVIDUAL PROJECT - DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL

1. SUGGESTION AND PROPOSAL
After doing the research, I decided to propose
a project on recreation area. I decided to
develop a recreation area, Indoor Basketball
Court because from my observation, there is
no recreation area around that place.
Residents need a comfortable and proper
place to do exercise and relax. The site will be
the most suitable site as it is located near with
the forest.
As the site is beside the forest, it will be good
environment for the user especially for those

2. who doing exercising as the forest will
provided them with sufficient oxygen. The site
is surrounded by residential house, it is making
residents can arrive there in short time. The
site of traffic and location are great. Thus,
people will not find the place hard to be
discovered or stuck on traffic jam.
My recreation will consist of four basketball
courts. It provided to encourage the residents
to practice a healthy life style. The basketball
court is being built is because we have found
out that the surrounding neighborhoods do
not have any basketball court. Thus, my aim is
to change this unused empty land to a friendly
and relaxing area for everyone and it helps
basketball players and those who are
interested to improve their health and also
skills as well as unite them.

3. Rationale
After visiting the site and considering the cons and
pros of the area, I decided to build a recreation area
for the site. Recreation area is seemed to be
important in that area. Recreation area will provide a
activity hub for people from all ages. This will be a
leisure services provided for the community users
and a public are that can be used by everyone. I think
that area quite complete in facilities such as
surrounded by residential area. The whole area is still
new but developing rapidly. Soon there will be any
buildings in that area and a green space is needed to
balance out the concrete jungle. Recreation area is
one of the ways to improve the quality of life and
make the communities livable. Residents need a
comfortable andproper place to do exercise andrelax.
If I build so, it will completely change the image of
Taman DamaiUtama, Puchong.

the site as the site is located near the

6. SKETCH OF CONCEPT
The concept of this building is an Indoor
Basketball Court. It will be on closeness to
bring people together in unity with nature
elements. There is four basketball courts
inside. It is single story and provide free
outdoor parking lot.

1. CONTRACTOR
- To plan, manage and monitor the work
under their control.
- Helps to organize and manage all aspects
of a building site.
-Planning, managing and monitoring
should be proportionate to the size and
complexity of the project and the nature
of risks involved.
- Responsible for planning the construction
phase and for drawing up the
construction phase plan before setting up
the construction site.

- Involved with designing new buildings,
extensions or alterations to existing
buildings, or advising on the restoration
and conservation of old properties.
- Can be responsible for the design of the
surrounding landscape and spaces
- Control a project from start to finish,
work with a number of construction
professionals, including surveyors,
engineers, producing drawings and
specifications that the construction
team works to.

- Work in close partnership with architects
and other professional engineers.
- Analyzing configurations of the basic
structural components of a building or
other structure.
- Examine existing buildings and
structures to test if they are structurally
sound and still fit for purpose.
- Make efficient use of funds and
materials in order to achieve structural
goals.

10. 4. QUANTITY SURVEYOR
- Costs relating to building and civil
engineering projects, from the initial
calculations to the final figures.
- Seek to minimize the costs of a project
and enhance value for money.
- Preparing and analyzing costing for
tenders.

- Providing advice on contractual claims.

11. 5. LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE
- Plan, design and manage open spaces
including both natural and built
environments.
- To provide innovative and aesthetically
pleasing environments for people to
enjoy.
- Conducting preliminary studies of the
site (including contours, soil, ecology,
buildings, roads)
- Carrying out environmental impact
assessments.

12. 6. MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL
ENGINEER
- Mechanical engineers provide efficient
solutions to the development of
processes and products.
- Designing and implementing cost-
effective equipment modifications to
help improve safety and reliability.
- Electrical engineer design, develop and
maintain electrical control systems and
components to required specifications.
- Involved in maintenance programmers.
- Researching suitable solutions and
