2. Audience
Audience age;- 20-23
Gender;- Could me based towards male and female, but is more likely that females this
age will already know about YWT so would be more appealing to males who aren’t
informed on it.
Description of audience;- People of this age who have just come out of university/house
sharing with friends/uni-mates.
Interest in YWT;- Don’t have much knowledge of YWT or what they are about. This is the
kind of audience range that need to be shown a creation that shows what there about.
Niche audience;- A lot of people who are likely to be house sharing uni-students, once
you’ve grabbed attention of a few of them and made them aware of YWT, the audience
will expand as they will be more than likely to spread the word about and give there
views on it once they’ve heard about it. Potential to turn into a mainstream audience.
People in this audience will most likely be unemployed or working in part-time
work/still in education, so either way they will have some sort of spare time on their
hands(most likely will be looking for a hobby/interest to take up/something to help
improve CV).
. Flyers/business cards/new logo would be likely to grab the attention of this audience
(something through their letter box that they can’t just change the channel and ignore.
3. Audience
Audience age;-30-40
Gender;- More based towards females, as if they have children living at home then it
would be more relevant to females as there children tend to be center of their lives.
Occupation;- Full time employment. Young children living at home.
Description of audience;- Full time single mothers with young children living at home,
trying to balance work and home life with children.
Mainstream audience;- This is the type of audience that there will be a large variety of all
over the country.(once one family have seen it/mother is most likely to send it on to
other mothers and so on the cycle will continue).
Physographics;- Most likely to be living a busy lifestyle with little time to go out and
engage in activities although they most likely will want to.
. With this audience I feel that the best way of which they would see the advertisement
would be via. a recorded T.V advertisement, as I assume with them spending a lot of time
at home then the children would spend a lot of time watching T.V.
4. Audience
Audience age;- 27-29
Gender;- This one can be aimed at both male and females as in this one there is
nothing about only one of the genders being able to go on walks, therefore it is based
around both genders.
Occupation of audience;- Young people who are making a success of there life in the
career path(could be going onto bigger/better things)
Description of audience;- Married couple of which whom are both in full time jobs
with good career paths.
Home location;- Halifax(main city/city)
Physographics;- Probably likely to be the kind to be living a busy lifestyle, mostly
focused more around work /career lives, leaving little time to go out and engage in
leisure time activities.
Mainstream audience;- This is more likely to be seen as a wider audience and will most
likely to be found all over the country, as I suspect that the majority of people all over
the country enjoy to engage in leisure time activities.
From looking at this audience I feel that the best way to reach out to them and for
them to see advertisements/bill boards/notices about this as they will be more likely
to see such thing when they are about walking/running then on T.V, as they will
probably spend a lot less time watching T.V and more engaging in leisure activities.
5. Audience
Primary audience:- For this production brief I will have two set audiences primary and secondary as
always. My primary audience is seen to be the audience of which my production will be most focused towards,
with this being the case and with my brief being based around YWT(Yorkshire Wildlife Trust) my primary
audience will obviously need to take quite an interest in wildlife and keeping it preserved/safe as, as my
production will mainly be based towards them. They should also enjoy going to wildlife places such as YWT and
going on trips out to the countryside, this I feel is an important factor especially considering the advertisement
poster will most likely be located on nature paths/around wildlife/country side areas. I don’t particularly feel
that there is a specific gender that will apply to this set production due to the brief of which it is based around
not just this but both genders of any age are very likely to take any interest in the countryside/preserving
wildlife. Not only this but if I was to chose a gender on what my production is based around then I feel that It
could be classed as sexist and some might take offence to it, hence why I made the decision also to aim it
around both genders, this will also help to make it more appealable to hopefully a wider audience. When it
comes to looking at the age range for my primary audience I would say that it would vary from 35-50 year olds, I
have decided on this age range as this tends to be the age range that you would fine people who enjoy to go on
walks around countryside/nature trails and/or enjoy visits to wildlife parks, this is mainly because at the age of
35 is normally the age of which anyone would be most likely to be settled down with a family and as so will
enjoy family trips/days out to wildlife centers I have said the maximum age range for my primary audience to
be 50, as this is normally the age that you would be coming to the closing years of living with your kids/children
and so can be seen as the last few years of which you would be likely to go to wildlife parks with your
kids/children. With my primary audience for this brief I cant really distinguish a social status as there is lots of
different people in this age range from different backgrounds/family’s that would enjoy the day out to a wildlife
park, but if I had to decide on one pacifically then I would have to aim it more towards middle class society as I
would say middle-class are the more likely to visit set wildlife parks as they would probably be the ones most
likely to have the free-time and will always have the funds to go to places likes these e.g. wildlife parks.
6. Audience
Secondary audience:- I feel that the secondary audience for me with my set production for this
brief is going to be more aimed around people more on the elderly side in particularly more
people who are aged between 60-75, the main reason why I believe this is more down to the fact
that elderly people enjoy to go on walks well the most of them anyways. I made the decision to
look at the age range for my secondary audience to be starting of at the age of 60 because not
only is it just after the age of my primary audience but also because I feel that this is the age of
which people tend to enter their final years and look at retirement and this is normally the time
of which elderly people look at taking up some sort of hobbies for them to carry out to fill in the
space for not working anymore and one of these is for more going long walks and for them
‘embracing the fresh air and wilderness of the countryside/nature’, the eldest age range for my
secondary audience is 75years old, the reason why I chose this to be the eldest age is because this
is the age of which elderly people would normally look at coming to the end of there
days/moving into a retirement home and so will most likely stop going on walks around the
countryside ext. Based around the age group that my secondary audience is based around I feel
that they will be more based around high up middle class or more higher class, this cant really be
specified because elderly people could come to there final years but still be seen to be very/quite
well of so for this reason it is why I believe that the social status for my secondary audience will
be more based around high-up middle class/higher up class. Again I feel that the gender of this
audience can not be distinguished as I feel that both elderly men and women will surely have a
hobby taken up for walking if not so even together if they are/have been friends/partners for
quite some time so as a result of this with my secondary audience I feel that my production will
appeal to both the male and female genders.
