2. Process of making my front cover
During the process of making my magazine the first thing I did Once I had placed my image in the correct place I added my
was place the picture in the correct place. I needed to make sure masthead. Designing my masthead took a lot of time as I
that the picture took up the majority of the space, which I decided to use two different colours for it and create a drop
believed I achieved. I was able to enlarge and move my photo shadow to make it stand out more, I did this by using the
around my using this tool. stroke tool which also allowed me to put an outline around the
letters to again make them bolder.
3. Process of making my front cover
Columns
This tool allowed me to make the red and black
sample colours
Once I added my masthead, I started to add my cover lines one by one, I ensured that the cover lines were in line with the masthead
using the column tool (the two blue lines above), this was useful as it made sure that everything was in line and made the magazine
look more professional. As you can see from the second picture, once I added the first cover lines it was easier to start adding and
placing the rest, I had an idea of where to place my cover lines from my draft so it was easier to layout. With the cover lines I also
used the stroke tool to put an outline on the words to make them stand out more, I also used the same red and black used in the
masthead, I was able to do this by saving the black and red used as a sample so it was simple to pick out of the colour picker.
4. Process of making my front cover
The text box tool
that allowed me
to write text
Once I added my cover lines I then added the footer and date and
issue number of the magazine at the top. This was simple to do as all
you needed to do was create a text box and type in the text then drag
the text box to the place where you wanted it to go.
The final thing I added to my magazine was the
barcode, this was again simple to add. I found a
barcode that I wanted to use off Google and then I
saved it as a jpeg then just moved and dragged it to
the place where I wanted it on my magazine.
