2. Here I took some text from dafont and edited it to the colour and stroke I wanted. I did
this by using the select tool and selecting from around a headline.
3. I created text with the text tool on Photoshop and used the same colour using
the RGB values in the colour overlay tool. I also used file, place to bring in my
first image to scale the text around it.

5. 18.01.16
• Today whilst using Photoshop I learnt how to layer my images.
• I learnt how to add text.
• Using Photoshop I have learnt that editing is very important
and allows you to change the photo later.
• I have learnt how to layout my magazine cover and make sure
that the most important parts are in the right places.
• I have also re-learnt how to remove the white from the text.
6. Here I started to remove the background of this image by first creating a mask then
selecting that mask using a magic wand tool and then using the paint brush for final
details.
7. I brought the edited image in to size it with the other.
8. I then edited the other image in the same way with a
mask.
9. Using the show transform tools I resized the images to make the two
models look like the photo was originally taken with the two of them
together. I did this as it gave me more control of the shape and sizing
of my cover. Also with the shape tool I created a long rectangle along
the bottom to create a strip for my magazine.
10. Here I started to change the colour scheme for my text as
some of it was not clear due to the images in the
background and I wanted it to be easier to read. I also
resized the images and the masthead.
11. I tried a blue colour as in my questionnaire I had
considered this colour scheme. Ultimately I removed
this colour from the cover.
12. I have made more of the text blue and also resized
and moved the text.
13. I added a marker to the middle of the cover so
that I could keep the masthead central and also
keep the right spacing between the two images.
I did this by dragging from the left of the
document to where I wanted the marker.
14. I have flipped the barcode, by rotating it with the
transform tools and I have also created the puff
with the custom shapes tool. I have also decided on
a more suitable colour scheme with the white text
instead of blue fitting in with the background.
15. Next I created a background rectangle and gave it a
gradient to give the cover a bit more character then
with just a white background. The darker colour of
the bottom of the background helped my text to
stand out better on the image.
16.
17. Here I dragged the masthead from one
document to my new document made for my
contents page.
18. Using the standard text tools I created a new contents title for this
page. I also copied my masthead so that I would have two of the
making it symmetrical. I then added this image and created a stroke for
the image with the tools along the bottom right corner.
19. I changed the brightness of the image in the bottom
left but I had not created a good mask which meant
it changed the colour of my two mastheads. I
eventually realised this and made a mask.
20. I then removed the background of the image,
the same way I did earlier.
21. I have just added more text and placed more original images with very
little editing. The underline of the titles was created with just the
rectangle tool.
22. I saved the social media images off of the
internet and then placed them into my
document as with any other image.
23. I changed the font as it did not look write to a black font to make it stand out
and easy to read.
24. I moved the text to the left to fit the page better using the normal
transform tools. I wanted there to be a grid like feel to the contents to
make it clear and easy to find what you are looking for.
25.
26. I added text with the text box tool and copied and pasted
the article which I had already written. I also made a
swatch with the same RGB as the red of my headline and
coloured text of my cover and contents.
27. I cropped out the background as I have with other images from my cover and
contents and upped the brightness slightly.
28.
29.
30.
31. To make the picture move the text around it I used the Text wrap tool. This
made the text move around the image.
32. Here are my final adjustments to my double page spread. I added a larger stroke with the tool
on the right to make the red text including my headline stand out more, I also enlarged it with
the tools along the top.
