2. Here I have just started to create my front cover and added
the masthead after previously inserted the altered version of
my image. I added text using the text tool with a drop shadow
then followed it by using the same text behind it but in white
to create more emphasis and allow the text to stand out more
and look more prominent.
3. I then added text going across the bottom and the only
cover line using the text tool. This was the information
that would be used to inform the reader of the basic
outline of what would be included in the magazine.
4. I then added a black rectangle using the shape tool and inserted text
over it to inform the reader of some of the extras in the magazine. On
the rectangle, I created a drop shadow to make sure it didn’t blend in
with the background and stood out on it’s own. Also, I inserted the
date using the text tool and added another drop shadow to make it
stand out and look different to the masthead and other text.
5. Then, using the text tool, I added the main cover line which
the double page spread was going to be focused on. I made
her name bigger and more prominent so that it stood out on
the page and was the main focus. I used more drop shadow
on these bits of text so that it made it look much more
effective and bold.
6. Finally, I added the barcode in to complete the front cover and
give it that aura of professionalism just like every other
magazine by including that essential element. I got this image
from the internet and inserted it into the bottom right hand
corner of the page to be as far out of sight as possible.
