The Cause And Effects Of Original Sin
Original Sin is what makes the world what it is today through its effects which cause sin, death, and
pain to enter the world. It was brought upon us through the sin of Adam and Eve. Through their
choice to disobey God, they damaged the relationship with God and humans. God gives us sin,
death, and pain as a reminder that we are human beings and only through him may we attain life
with him in a perfect world. Through the power of the Holy Spirit in Baptism, we are able to have
Original Sin cleansed from us, but the effects of it remain with us. Without Original Sin we would
all be living a life with complete union with God in a perfect world. Adam and Eve were the cause
of Original Sin entering the world. Through the temptation of Satan, they chose to disobey God and
turn away from him. This choice to turn away from God was the first sin of a human. Because of
this, our relationship with God is weakened and sin, death, and pain, are now a part of our lives. We
are born into the world with Original Sin and do not have a choice to get rid of the effects because
their sin weakened our relationship with God to the point where we cannot live in perfect union with
him until after our lives on Earth. Adam and Eve's sin is the cause of Original Sin and humans on
Earth today are living the effects of it. This first sin by Adam and Eve is the cause of many things in
the world today. Before the sin, they were in the Garden of Eden, where there were no problems and

Ltc Case Study
People who live in the long–term care (LTC) facilities fall more frequently, more than any other
environment. Falls in LTC have been on going huge problem for more than a decade now.
According to Center of Disease Control (CDC, 2009) each year, a typical nursing home with 100
beds reports 100 to 200 falls. Many fall go unreported. Between half and three–quarters of nursing
home residents fall each year. That's twice the rate of falls among older adults living in the
community.
Fall in LTC is very serious because most of these patients they fall multiple times in a one year
calendar. This falls end up causing permanent injury, disability and death. According to CDC about
1800 people living in the nursing home die from falls each year and about ... Show more content on

I do believe that most of us, do know that most of people living in the LTC are 65 years old and
above .Most of these people have muscle weakness, impaired vision, decrease mobility and have
some kind of memory impaired problems. But is the above reasons enough for elder peoples in the
LTC continue to fall and sustain permanent injures and losing their life due to falls? What are the
system doing to stop or to reduce these falls? Where are our interventions?
Main factors why people in LTC experience a lot of falls includes muscle weakness ,balance
problems, medication side effects, loss of sensation and vision ,memory loss and environmental
factors.
What kind of interventions are currently available to prevent falls or injury? Most of LTC facility
they fall risk assessment for every new admission and all patients post fall. Other intervention
includes patient and staff education, medication review, exercises program and sometimes they uses
bed and chair alarm if necessary. According Willy & Osterberg (2014) any fall interventions that are
used must be matched to each individual's risk factors and initiated before the fall occurs.my biggest
question is ,are these interventions being effective ?if the answer is yes ,are the number of falls

Can cats survive all falls?
Topic: Animals, Science
Ratings: Fascinating, Informative
Description: William Shakespeare referred to the myth "A cat has nine lives" in his play Romeo and
Juliet, which arguably came from cats' ability to always land on their feet. The biped of ancient
Egypt was fascinated by the feline arts of swiftness and tenacity for their remarkable survivals from
high falls. In this short, interesting talk, Leon shares the science behind these amazing skills of cats.
5 years ago, "a cat in the US city of Boston survived a fall from a 19–storey window and only
bruised her chest. How do cats survive falls from such great heights?" Can they survive all falls?
The answer is obviously ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Dead cats don't talk, and they don't go into hospital records.
In recent decades, all of the cat fall statistics come from pet hospitals. Crazy experiments of
throwing cats out of tall buildings don't exist. As a result, these statistics contain inevitable margins
of errors – all of the cats sent to pet hospitals were the ones which their owners believed that could
be saved, so the cats that died straight away were not accounted for. Can you imagine an owner
asking a vet for treatment holding a pile of bloody flesh?
In contrary, unless there were life risks, owners tend not to send cats who fell from lower floors to
the hospitals. This explains why cats that fell from lower floors have a higher odds of injury than
cats that fell from higher floors. The 90% survival rate from the studies was not the survival rate of
cats that fell, but of those that were sent to hospitals for treatment.
High survival rates can't explain why cats are good at falling. Cats that die on their way to the
hospital, ones that weren't discovered in time after the fall, and those that could not be saved or died
instantly couldn't affect the 90% survival rate because the statistics didn't include these unlucky

Hamlet In Hamlet
Immediately after Claudius takes the throne, Hamlet can perceive the perversion of the court. "O,
that this too, too sallied1 flesh would melt,/Thaw and resolve itself into a dew!" (Shakespeare,
1.2.129–130). According to Dodsworth, an instinctual revulsion does not account for Hamlet's
feeling of self–disgust. In English society at the time, Hamlet's unusual family situation was not
definitively incestuous. He claims that Hamlet's (and the Ghost's) complaint of incest is
"subordinate" to the larger issue of loss of honor (Dodsworth, 46–47). I propose, however, that this
shame is more deep–rooted; a result of the collective depravity. Of all the characters in the play,
Hamlet is the most aware of the presence of sin in the court.
...To die: to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart–ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation (Shakespeare, 3.3.59–63).
In Hamlets understanding, death is an escape from the pain of life: these pains, like "heart–ache" are
"natural" and native to the body. All humans feel pain as it is an infection inherent to the "flesh."
Hamlet contends that the distorted life they are living is a permanent, unalterable destiny. "You
should not have believed me; for virtue cannot so inoculate our old stock but we shall relish of it"
(3.1.115–116). He realizes that, even if "virtue" is enacted, even if good deeds are done, the "Old
Adam" will not die. Later in the same scene, when Hamlet is speaking

Information About The Festival Website
Website Review www.fallsfestival.com Fallsfestival.com is a website designed to supply their target
audience with information about the annual festival held over New Year, as a means of digitally
marketing and providing the links to purchase tickets.
Falls Music and Arts Festival is an annual, end of year, over 18s event, held in 4 separate locations,
that appeals to a range of people through the diverse lineup that hosts many genres of music. The
majority of attendees fall in the millennial category of 18–34 both male and female (Rana 2014,
Leeannji 2015).
Although this target audience is not majorly specific, it does give the designers of the Falls Festival
website more of a direct idea of who they are aiming to make the website appeal to. Castells asked
Kaestle what the "secret" was to appealing so specifically to a target audience to which he replied
"get in their head" (Castells 2010). This quote is very fitting in terms of the way that the Falls
Festival website designers have incorporated many themes that would be associated with the festival
goers. The random animations and graphics that appear throughout the website, from fried eggs to
bowling pins, are so arbitrary that it is infact this randomness which will appeal to the target
audience of the festival goers. The graphics try to emulate the craziness that is associated with such
festivals.
Colour scheme needs to be considered very carefully when designing a website in order to meet the
criteria of the target

Discussion of mode #1 Pillsbury's lack of awareness caused the whole interaction with the Japanese
Zero. He "never saw it," and as a result it was able to successfully strike Super Man with cannon
shells (101). This causes the bomber to roll sideways, which saves the life of Ray Lambert. If the
plane had not rolled to its side, then it is extremely likely the cannon shell would have struck him in
the head and killed him. Additionally, Hillenbrand incorporates onomatopoeia when describing the
sounds of the cannon shells colliding with the plane to imitate the actual sound, which increases the
accuracy of the portrayal of the event. B. Discussion of mode #2 Hillenbrand defines the B–24
bomber as a poorly built, dangerous aircraft that airmen are wary of. It is cramped, ugly, and unsafe.
Flying it was similar to "wrestling a bear," and "there were several incidents in which B–24 tails
dropped off in midair" (64). By defining the B–24 from the point of view of airmen, Hillenbrand
emphasizes that it is not the preferred aircraft for the soldiers for the reasons listed. Instead, "the
kind of plane that men wanted to be seen in" is the B–17 Flying Fortress (63). The Flying Fortress is
"handsome, masculine, nimble, fiercely armed, reliable, long–winded, and practically indestructible"
(63). This is in stark contrast to the B–24, and depicts the B–17 as the superior aircraft. They are
only similar "[o]n paper," but their real life performance could not be more different

Referential Anxiety In Albert Camus The Fall
La Chute translated The Fall, was published in 1956 by Albert Camus '. The Fall is Camus' last
completed novel according to the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Fall can be seen as complex. At
times, interpreting and analyzing can be difficult to some when attempting to understand the novel.
However, according to Referential Anxiety in Contemporary French Fiction by David R. Ellison,
there is no right or wrong way to interpret The Fall because Camus never had the chance to explain
it himself. David R. Ellison argues that "It seems as if no real progress has been made in deciphering
the text's central enigmas" due to this. For the reader, this is good or bad news. The bad news is that

Improving Quality And Safety For Patient Safety
The Role of the Leader in Evaluating Data to Improve Quality and Safety
Patient safety is a growing concern among healthcare professionals and the public (Goh, Chan, &
Kuziemsky, 2013). As professional nurses, it is our duty to demonstrate improved safety for our
patients, visitors and guests to the facilities in which we serve. It is also our duty to prevent adverse
events and to view unfortunate incidents as learning opportunities to achieve a holistic view of
patient care. By improving patient safety, we accept responsibility for more positive patient
outcomes and a successful hospital stay. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the importance of
data evaluation and interpretation to improve patient quality and safety.

In reviewing the data set provided for this study, a large number of falls occurred between the hours
of 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. This is the time that a phlebotomist typically enters the room for a morning
blood draw or the nurse wakes the patient for a vital sign check. The patients are still in a daze, and
it is possible after the clinical personnel leaves, the patient tries to climb out of bed unattended,
resulting in a fall (Stempniak, 2015). Lee (2015), states "You disturb them, wake them up and
they're groggy; then they try to get up and go to the restroom by themselves." They overestimate
their ability to function and walk, resulting in a fall (Stempniak, 2015).
In addition to the falls data, the Walden University case study (2015) reported "One full–time
employee (FTE) of nursing assistants was moved from the night shift to the evening shift (Data
Dashboard, 2015). This change in staff may contribute to the increased falls seen during the
overnight hours. An extra nursing assistant would be helpful as a variable rounder, someone to help
the nurses and other nursing assistants respond quickly if a patient's call bell is ringing or the patient
is in distress.
Our report shows an increase in fall risks from 7 am to 11 am daily. This time coincides with patient
care, where nursing staff may be attending to one individual patient, often

My Social Life Over My Academic Life
While growing up, doing well in school always came naturally to me. I took every Advanced
Placement class my high school offered and still graduated with a 3.85 GPA. Unfortunately, after
high school, I learned that my methods in high school no longer worked as well in college. In 2007,
I enrolled at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. Augustana is a small, private university, and I
learned plenty of academic, as well as life, lessons while attending. My grades at Augustana dropped
slightly at first compared to what they were in high school. I finally realized that studying would be
necessary; however I allowed myself to fall into the same trap as many other new students, and I
chose to prioritize my social life over my academic life. After five semesters at Augustana, I realized
two things. First of all, I decided I would need to fix my priorities, and, second, I figured out how
expensive that private school actually was. Plagued by the idea that I had already ruined my life
with my decision thus far, my thoughts careened out of control. Immediately following the winter
semester of 2009, I transferred to Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. I had hoped a new
start would help, but as time went on, the thoughts worsened (with additional causes supplementing
the previous reasons). Alcohol became more than just a social lubricant. Though alcohol kept me
going for a long time, my grades suffered. During this time I proposed to my wife, who would have

Essay on Death Of Celilo Falls by Katrine Barber
The purpose of this essay is to examine and analyze Katrine Barber's book, "Death of Celilo Falls".
In this book, Barber successfully seeks to tell the story of a momentous event in the history of the
West, the building of the Dalles Dam in 1957. Celilo Falls was part of a nine–mile area of the Long
Narrows on the Columbia River. Despite the fact that the Celilo Village still survives to this day in
the state of Oregon (it is the state's oldest continuously inhabited town), the assembly of The Dalles
Dam in 1957 changed the way of life for the surrounding areas forever. Barber tells this story very
well, and as it is the first book–length account of the inundation of Celilo Falls, it is a very valuable
and insightful look at an influential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She also explains the differences in thinking between the two communities. The Dalles wanted the
increased "modernity and economic security that a federal dam and professional river management
promised."(pg.14). The mid–size town was "on the verge of expansion and growth" (pg. 27) and
supported the projects that "would make the city the "gateway" between Portland and the cities of
the interior Northwest." (pg. 27). The Celilo Village and other surrounding Indians, however, saw
the building of the dam as an encroachment upon their resources. The building of the dam would
adversely affect the fishing industry which was vital to the native people's interests. She goes on to
describe the natives' belief that they had a right to decide how the resources were used as well,
describing on pages 20 through 25, the ancient, thriving community that the natives had prior to
white settlement. According to Barber, the relations between the two communities were not entirely
friendly, especially since "The Dalles and its non–Native residents displaced older Indian
communities, both economically and culturally." (pg. 27) The interactions between the two
communities were laced with racism and there was not much inter–mingling. Therefore, when the
proposal of the Dalles Dam came through, the people of The Dalles did not see the rights of the
Indians as important, especially since the dam

Falls Prevention Within The Older Adult Over The Age Of 55...
The paper will discuss falls prevention in the older adult over the age of 55 and new and alternative
interventions for fall prevention compared to current practice. The desired outcome of the paper is to
provide information for fall prevention and, therefore, decrease the occurrence of falls. First, in
order to understand the importance falls have within the clinical setting, statistics showing the
mortality, morbidity and financial impact should be understood. The occurrence of falls within the
acute care setting is a growing problem among the elderly. The evidence shows that one in three
people aged 65 or older will sustain a fall and that only half will report the fall to a caregiver (CDC,
2014). The number increases to one in two when the patient reaches the age of 80. The Center for
Disease Control (CDC) defines a fall when a person unintentionally comes to rest on the ground or
another lower level. Falls are not an inevitable part of aging, however, aging does influence such
things as reduced mobility, comorbidities, and cognitive impairment which contribute to fall risk.
Falls are one of the leading causes of injuries in the acute care setting. The injuries sustained from
falls leads to increased hospital stay time and a chance for further injuries which may harm the
patient (CDC, 2014). According to the CDC in 2013, 2.5 million people suffered a fall, of these falls
734,000 were hospitalized. The falls also resulted in 22,900 people dying from fall

Thomas Cole's Falls Of The Kaaterskill
Thomas Cole was an 19th Century American artist who has been regarded as the founder of the
Hudson River School. This was an American art movement that was known for the realistic and in
depth portrayal of the American landscape and of its wilderness, both of which were heavily
influenced by romanticism. One finds their ideals in the symbolic depiction of magnificent
landscapes filled with literary references, sometimes close to fantastic themes. Cole's creative
process involved the creation of what he called a mind eye vision of those sites he had previously
visited. He would use his senses to depict how things should look, in addition to relaying on the
drawings he had made while on the field. Many of this on site sketches and drawings are full of
notes where he describes the colors, the geographical formations, and the atmospheric effects at the
time. Cole would make use of these factors in creating works which were both ... Show more

He records these visual impressions in the initial study, where he executes rough topographical

rock formations. In the actual work, we can see the height of the horizon, atop the summit of the

November 1, 2016 Risk Factors for Falls Among Geriatric Population Living in Nursing Facilities
Falls are a major problem in elderly population in the United States living in nursing facilities.
Statistics from Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) show that approximately
800,000 seniors fall each year and 1 in 3 of those will fall twice or one more time in a year. (Agency
for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2012). Most falls are caused by a combination of risk factors.
The more risk factors a person has, the greater their chances of falling. Healthcare providers can
help cut down a person's risk by reducing the fall risk factors
(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2012). Serious injuries have resulted from the falls
such as hip fractures, concussions, decreased cognitive and functional abilities, and increased risk of
death. The cost of treatment resulting from falls is rising each year. According to CDC, adjusted for
inflation, the direct medical costs for fall injuries are $31 billion annually. (Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention,2016). Those who do not suffer severe injuries live with fear of falling so
they restrict their activities, which lead to increased comorbidities.

The Patient Safety Concern And Quality Improvement Issue (...
Falls in a health care setting are costly to the patient, the health care facility and may affect the
reimbursement that insurance gives to hospitals, yet they are preventable. Falls can be minor with
just a few bumps and bruises or they can be major which can result in death. Not only are falls
harmful to the patient but there is a lot of money and time that gets added up after a fall occurs ***
There are many factors as to why a fall could take place, but being aware of the risk that a patient is
a fall risk from the beginning can help avoid a fall from ever occurring. Accurately identifying a
patient as a fall risk and communicating to other staff within 24 hours of admission is key to help in
the prevention of falls.
Current Knowledge of the Patient Safety Concern/Quality Improvement Issue (State and National
Context)
Falls are one of the most common inpatient adverse events. According to the World Health
Organization, a fall is defined as an event that results in a person coming to rest inadvertently on the
ground or floor or other lower level (WHO 2016). In 2012, the cost of fall injuries totaled more than
$36 billion. As the population ages, the financial toll for older–adult falls is projected to reach $59.6
billion by 2020. (NCQA 2015). Fall–related injuries account for up to 15 percent of
rehospitalizations in the first month after discharge from hospital (Currie). Based on data from 2000,
total annual estimated costs were between $16 billion and $19

meters in height and consists with rich biodiversity and a habitat to many types of wildlife. The
ridge extends 725 km in length from Queenston on Niagara River through densely populated areas
like Hamilton, Milton to Tobermory at the tip of Bruce peninsula (CanadianEncyclopedia). The
escarpment exists in a horseshoe shape around Michigan and dates back up to 430 to 450 million

geologists. It was formed through different processes of erosion by weathering and streams and

John Milton 's Paradise Lost
John Milton's Paradise Lost illustrates the beginning of human destruction with the Fall of Man.
Milton recreates the creation in an English epic and retells the events of the fall of Satan from
Heaven, and the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden. Eve appears to be at fault for the fall of
humankind and for her and Adam's exile from Eden, because Eve gave into Satan's temptation.
However, if Eve is at fault for the fall of all humankind, than who is at fault for Satan's fall? God
provided Adam and Eve with free will, which allowed them to roam Eden and live freely. They had
one rule from God; God told them to never eat from the Tree of Knowledge. However, given that
they were granted free will and Satan lurked ready to tempt Adam and Eve, ... Show more content

Instead of taking Eve's ideas into consideration, he replies "for nothing lovelier can be found / In
woman, than to study household good, / And good works in her husband to promote" (232–234).
Basically, Adam indicates a woman's job is to fulfill the domestic duties of her home and for her
family. These very limiting compliments mirror the admirations of good wives that are found in the
Bible. Eve suggests that her and Adam separate so that they can accomplish more work, but Adam
fears the danger that lurks around them and expresses that she would be "safest and seemliest by her
husband" (268) who will protect her from whatever tries to attack them. Not only is Eve condemned
to household responsibilities, but Adam also suggests that Eve does not have the strength to protect
herself without man. As a result, Eve feels inferior to Adam, so she establishes her identity and
separates from him demonstrating that she has the strength to avoid danger and temptation. In
addition, Satan demonstrates Eve's constraints under God and inferiority to all men because he
tempts her to commit sin. Milton writes about how Satan encourages Eve to eat the fruit: "Fixed on
the fruit she gazed, which to behold / Might tempt alone" (733–736). Milton uses internal rhyme
"behold" and "alone" and enjambment to illustrate Satan's sly nature; as he slips from one line into
the next, Eve, too, is propelled into the decision to eat the apple. Not only does

As a facility, we have adopted the slogan "No one potties alone" thus meaning staff have to be
present at all times when a patient is on the toilet. You can imagine how this has been perceived.
Patients refuse to have staff standing waiting while they use the toilet, patient and staff are very
uncomfortable with this facility wide decision. Simply stated it is not working well. We have
continued to have falls and or "near misses" and patient satisfaction has declined. Our patient
surveys seem to have a common theme, patient's need and want their privacy while in the restroom.
On our unit, 4 Tower, I brought up the issues of falls secondary to our manager stating this is a hot
topic. I introduced discussion at the unit based council meeting that we have an issues and we need
to address the issue and do something because this plan of "no one potties alone" is not working.
Hence, this project has come to life. The investigation and analysis: The issue is patient falls in the
acute care setting. In looking at this issue, I researched all the falls that had occurred on my unit and
pulled patient charts and researched RN and CNA documentation, procedures, medication records
etc. to be able to start seeing correlations / similarities between the falls. I pulled NOEs (notice of
events) our facility internal method of tracking falls. In reading documentation most falls were

The Breakfast Club Analysis
Throughout the movie, Brian goes through the Identity Foreclosure, Identity Moratorium and
Identity Achievement statues of James Marcia's identity statuses theory. When Brian lives up to his
obedient, "Good Citizen," nerd image, he's in the Identity Foreclosure status since he
unquestioningly adopts his parents' and society's visions, values and roles. He follows rules,
questions rebelliousness and allows others to view him as weak for being a geek. Then, he
transitions into an Identity Moratorium status where he delays his commitment to being the Brain
and explores "alternative ideologies" and sides to himself when he smokes weed and connects to the
troubles and philosophies of the rest of the Breakfast Club (Weiten, 457). Finally, at the end of the
movie, Brian achieves the Identity Achievement status where he grows closer to a sense of identity
and direction after "thinking through alternative possibilities," or hanging out with the rest of the
Breakfast Club (Weiten, 457). After being accepted by others, Brian builds his self–esteem and
values his life despite his failures once and for all.
Out of the id, ego and superego of Freud's theory of personality, the superego is the one that mostly
controls Brian. Brian's superego internalizes society's "norms, etiquette, rules, and customs" much
like his ego, but his ego doesn't overpower since he's not trying to mediate his id which craves for
irrational, impulsive, primitive and childish desires (Weiten, 480). Instead, his

Sam Patch Essay
Jonathan Kroger
History 2111
April 22, 2010
"Sam Patch's Leap into the Great Divide"
"Some things can be done as well as others", the famous line of Sam Patch became a well–known
saying amongst U.S. citizens especially Jeffersonian and Jacksonian democrats (Johnson, 163). Sam
Patch was many things in his lifetime from a famous falls jumper to a destitute mill worker to also
the first American–born boss spinner. He however was viewed different amongst social groups in
America. The common folk and Jeffersonian democrats viewed Patch as a good man and somewhat
of a folk hero, while the middle class and Hamiltonians viewed him as a drunkard and a sign of the
decay of society in America. He was a product of the harsh system and ... Show more content on

On the other hand; the middle class who was most often associated with Hamiltonian views viewed
Sam Patch as a simple drunkard and a symbol of the decay and immoralities of American society.
Journalists during his time wrote Sam Patch "like many other great geniuses is a greater friend to the
bottle than the bottle is to him" (Johnson, 115). The middle class viewed themselves as
"respectables" and the wage–earning class was inferior to them, which is evident in the celebration
ceremonies in Paterson on the Fourth of July. Celebrations started off with a parade, banquet, and
fireworks where all Patersonians were welcome to participate, but gradually transitioned to a more
exclusive celebration of a large group of respectable "Young Men" where toasts weren't based on
patriotism anymore yet based on entrepreneurial progress (Johnson, 65). Sam Patch's celebrity and
life not only showed growing social and political differences, but it showed the increasing gap that
was growing between the wage–earning and middle class as a result of the market revolution.
The wage–earning class was the debtors, debtors who owed money and had to work to make a living
for creditors, most of whom made up what would be known as the middle class. The tradition of
fathers passing their land on down to their sons was slowly dying such as with Mayo Greenleaf
Patch and his sons. Mayo Patch's life was riddled with owing debts to the middle

The stunning film, Good Morning, Vietnam, starring Robin Williams does an incredible job
encompassing the atmosphere Vietnam War. It begins in 1965 when radio disc jockey Adrian

in Saigon and includes compelling shots of the geographical features of Vietnam; jungles, cities and
beaches. Cronauer begins every report with the notorious "Gooood morning, Vietnam!" and
continues will jokes and upbeat music to make troops all over the country smile. He infuriates his
superiors by playing unapproved music and reporting unofficial news. He befriends a local boy,
Tuan, in the English class he teaches to an eager group of Vietnamese citizens. Throughout the film
viewers fall in love with Tuan and feel utmost empathy for him until it is revealed that he is a Viet
Cong. In the climax of the story Cronauer confronts Tuan and yells "I gave you my friendship. My
trust. And now they tell me that my best friend is the goddamn enemy!" to which Tuan responds
with "Enemy?! What is enemy?! You killing my people miles away from your home. We not the

A Separate Peace Analysis
A Separate Peace tells the story of Gene's painful but necessary growth into adulthood, a journey of
deepening understanding about his responsibility and his place in a wider world. At the beginning of
the novel, the young Gene stands unconcerned, self–absorbed, by the tree that will test his true
nature. By the end, Gene has suffered and inflicted suffering, and he has grown into an
understanding of his own dark motives. He has lost his innocence and has gained experience. Gene's
innocence at the opening of the novel represents a childlike happiness in conformity. By obeying the
rules – occasionally rebelling mildly through sarcasm, "the protest of people who are weak" – Gene
maintains a comfortable life, predictable and unthreatening, like Leper's dining room. In Devon,
obedient to the rules, approved by the masters, Gene is safe, but he cannot grow. Growth can come
only through conflict and struggle, and Gene's conformity acts as a shield against such challenges.
Finny breaks through Gene's shield of conformity, daring him to experience the world more directly,
by breaking rules and creating new traditions. With Finny, Gene explores a life unbounded by
familiar routines imposed by adults. The freedom exhilarates Gene at times – the first forbidden
jump from the tree brings him to a new, heightened awareness of life – but uncertainty nags at him.
Finny's whims disturb Gene's comfortable routine of study and proper behavior, habits of obedience
that win the approval of

Falling Is A Crucial Issue Among The Hospitals Essay
Falling is a crucial issue among the hospitals. Even the hospitals make all the efforts to prevent falls,
falls still occur frequently and some repeatedly. According to Currie (2008), approximately 700000
to 1000000 individuals fall in the United States hospitals each year. A fall in a health care
organization is considered a never–event by Medicare and Medicaid services(CMS) (Cox et al.,
2015). As the result, health care facilities are not reimbursed for hospitalized falls which increase the
economic burden of hospitals.
Background of study
Falls can be categorized into unanticipated physiologic, anticipated physiologic, accidental or
intentional (as cited in Cox et al., 2015). Furthermore, the causes of inpatient falls include patients'
intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors as well as organizational or workforce factors (Cox et al., 2015).
The methods of fall prevention are tailored to patients' unique intrinsic or extrinsic risks; however,
fall prevention tactics are not created for an individual, they are used in various patient populations
(Cox et al., 2015). Moreover, the scale from the fall risk assessment tools, for example: Morse Falls
Risk Assessment Scale and the Hendrich I Falls Risk Assessment Scale, do not specify the type of
fall for individual, making it hard to design or direct fall prevention approaches by individual 's
physiological or environmental risks (Cox et al., 2015). According to Cox et al. (2015), "there is a
clear need to gain a broader

Briefing Arlington County's Stormwater Management Staff on the Four Mile Run Watershed Model
Oct 26, 2017
Meeting Notes
In Attendance: Sayedul Choudhury, Riyam Alobaidi, Elizabeth Thurber and Guosheng Qui
Sayedul provided an update on the Four Mile Run SWMM5 Model. A model summary and a map of
model components (see attached) were handed out.
The Four Mile Run SWMM5 Model results were found to match observed flows at the Shirlington
gage, especially for large storms (5,000 cfs or larger). However, for the tributaries, small streams
and upper Four Mile Run segments, the model performance cannot be validated until local wet
weather flow data are collected.
Sayedul requested Arlington County to

Sayedul will collect a copy of the data from Riyam.
CH2M added storages to a number of subwatersheds in the tributary models to account for water
that cannot enter the pipes, especially if the pipes are too small to carry the peak watershed runoff.
Streams Tech will evaluate the need for such storages in other subwatersheds to ensure that no water
is lost from the system.
Arlington County and Streams Tech personnel will walk along the key or questionable areas of the
stormwater network to identify potential problems and verify the connectivity and representation of
network (nodes, links, storages and subwatersheds) in the model.
Arlington County will provide data for an initial update of the model and then provide data annually
to update the model.
Streams Tech will coordinate NVRC to set up meeting to provide a project update to the Technical
Advisory Committee (TAC).
Arlington County wants to use the model results for various projects and programs including the
MS4 Program.
Four Mile Run SWMM model Summary
1. Four models for the following subwatersheds were developed by CH2M Hill and incorporated in
the FMR SWMM model:
a. Arlington County – Crossman Run subwatershed
b. Arlington County – Lubber Run subwatershed
c. Arlington County – Westover Branch subwatershed

Descriptive Tourism
5 must–see top rated tourist attractions in Argentina
Argentina is a stunning country and it is one that should sit high on anyone's bucket list. There's a
challenge, though, when planning a trip because the country is so massive it's difficult to know
where to start or end up. It's difficult to narrow the tourist attractions down to just 5 because there
are so many, but we dedicated ourselves to choosing the absolute best and here's what we came up
with.
Please note: they're all so awesome we haven't put them in any particular order.
1. Perito Moreno Glacier
Another UNESCO site, and this one you will find in El Calafte, a small town which is home to Los
Glaciares National Park. What's of interest here? The Perito Moreno Glacier, not only is it the third
largest fresh water reserve on the planet, it is also home to an 18 mile long ice formation.
The visitor center is just two hours from the town and from the center there's only a short walk to
reach to glacier via a walking circuit. For the more adventurous spirits out there... you can climb
Perito Moreno! Yes, there are tours available from a quick hour walk on the surface of the ice to a
five hour trek. That's not all you will find at the park, though. There's also a 2 mile high mountain,
Monte Fitz Roy, which is just as treacherous as Everest.
2. Ushuaia
Patagonia is well known for incredible landscapes, bragging massive stretches of plateaus and
plains, made all the more dramatic by the backdrop of the Andes. This southern hot spot also
happens to feature Ushuaia – which just happens to be the most southern city in the world. It got its
start in the 20th century as a penal colony, but now it's become the place to launch adventures. It's
the starting point for trips around Cape Horn and kicking off an Antartic adventure. It's fondly
known as the end of the world and has a truly unique landscape that features woods, mountains,
glaciers, and sea. It sits at the very edge of Tierra del Fuego National Park. In fact, you'll want to
visit the National Park, too, while you are in the area.
There are also two museums that shows the unique history of the area, and a lighthouse (built in
1884).

Why Zoos Should Not Be Used
By the basic definition, something is rare when it either does not occur often or it is not found in
large numbers which adds to its interest and value. The rarity of an object can be argued by different
groups of people. This causes debates about what should be considered rare and to what degree of
rarity an object is. If said object is classified as rare, what should be done with that object or idea
and how, if at all, should it be preserved. In this essay, I am going to question the idea of rarity and
show why rarity should not be used as a way to regulate environments. One view of rarity comes
from the realists; they believe "... an object is unique within a purview: given a certain boundary,
there exists no other object like it. " This idea makes defining something as rare only specific to the
boundary set. So, if something is rare in America it may not be as rare, if rare at all, in Europe. This
could have complications when considering different aspects of nature and how to define those
aspects as rare. For example, to Americans the Niagara Falls is a rare phenomenon and should be
maintained due to their rarity, however in other parts of the world there are falls just as good, if not
better than the Niagara Falls. An example of this would be the Victoria Falls in Africa; this is also a
rare phenomenon but is it equally as rare as the Niagara Falls? When trying to regulate
environments, rarity always comes into play as it pertains to preservation. The rarer something

Fall Prevention In The Elderly Essay
Quality Improvement for Fall Prevention in the Elderly
The occurrence of falls among the elderly is related to multiple factors, such as inherent and external
issues. Studies have proven that when appropriate intervention is put in place, falls are preventable.
A quality improvement according to Polit & Beck (2012) is created to examine the willingness of
individuals to understand these studies and put them into practice or to appraise the results of
interventions already in place. This paper will examine a practice issue facilitated by the advanced
practice nurse (APN), explore the theoretical underpinning of change, describe an improvement tool
and model for improvement and allocated resources towards the prevention of fall among the
elderly.
Selected Practice Issue
The occurrence of falls in older adults are common and can result in serious injuries, even death.
Owing to multifaceted changes in the aging, falls and related injuries are rampant in the healthcare
settings. Moreover, the decline in the involvement and inspirational level of older adults in fall
prevention measures continues to be a challenge. Hence, increasing the motivational level of this
older populace in fall preventive plans is of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The outcomes are revisit, reevaluation of current intervention methods and policies and in most
cases, changes to set protocols are implemented. To improve the quality of life and reduce frailty
among this older populace, the APN systematically reviews and assess each individual upon
admission process and identifies older adults at risk. These risk factors are disseminated to the
healthcare team members who ensure that interventions are in place and implemented as ordered.
The eventual objective of RCA, of course, is to avert imminent harm by eradicating the oblivious
errors that continues to trigger adverse

Niagara River Meets Lake Ontario
Niagara–on–the–Lake, Ontario is a charming town situated at the point where the Niagara River
meets Lake Ontario. Its nickname, "Loveliest Town in Canada", is well–deserved. It's a town rich in
both natural and cultural beauty. One of the highlights of its events calendar is the Shaw Festival,
which celebrates the works of George Bernard Shaw and his contemporaries from April to
November each year with live performances.
Due to its mild climate and number of natural lakes, Niagara–on–the–Lake has become a top wine–
producing area, particularly of ice wine. Visitors flock to the town for wine tasting weekends,
garden and home tours, and antiquing. The romance of the area is palpable and makes it an ideal
getaway for couples and girls' weekends.
Best Time to Visit Niagara–on–the–Lake, ON
Niagara–on–the–Lake appeals to visitors throughout the year, but if you enjoy cultural events and
wine, your best bet is September and October. You 'll delight in the fall foliage, winery harvests and
tastings, as well as the end of the theater season. Weather is pleasant, ranging from the low 70s to
mid–40s. Cooler temperatures bring down hotel prices as well. As the fall goes on, discounts grow.
However, if you plan to visit on the weekend or during the summer during this spectacular time, it's
important to note that many hotels require a two–night stay.
Summers are wildly popular because of the enjoyable weather. Average highs are in the low 80s.

Author's death was probably no accident. Since he was said to have fallen down the stairs the

Cultural Differences Between Modern Day North And South
Toronto to Texas the Journey
Changes occur in every region of the world; every minute, every second. Most people generally do
not approve of changes. It causes fear, mistrust, isolation, and even pain. In my youth, I liked
changes. Changes were something to look forward to, it 's fun to meet new people and an enjoyable
way to see new places. It was useful to learn new skills and live experiences. So at the age of fifteen,
my mother told me we were headed for America. No attention was given to these words, because I
was a teenager who thought that the state of Texas would be quite similar to Toronto, but never did I
imagine that this will completely change my perception of change. These changes have led me to
understand the different culture between the north and south, not to believe in stereotypes, and made
me adaptable.
I can't even begin to explain the massive cultural differences between modern–day North and South.
Most people assume only climate and slang are the major difference in the two, however they could
not be more wrong. Especially between Toronto and Wichita Falls, Texas. It may sound obvious but
there is geographical difference. For one in the North we have more clear and fast rivers, and we
almost always have a bay. While in the south, the soil is agriculturally more fertile, so in essence we
see more farms and large areas of land. Also there is a huge population difference between Wichita
Falls and Toronto, which is easily amongst the biggest and most

Femininity In Paradise Lost Analysis
Femininity is a topic that has seen controversial debate over the course of the last few centuries.
John Milton is not exempt from this, as he is a self–proclaimed polemicist. Utilizing his texts as
tools, Milton relays important social, political, and economic messages of concern to the public. His
political nature has led to his imprisonment and threats to his life (Campbell 2009). Amidst his
unpopularity during the time, Milton persisted with his publication endeavours of controversial
texts. Throughout his life, Milton had three marriages, the first of which was very brief, and
prompted his support towards legalizing divorce (Campbell 2009). Two of these three marriages led
to divorce which implies that Milton's views are translated into his pivotal piece, Paradise Lost. As
one of his most important texts, seen as a brilliant piece of English literature, Paradise Lost certainly
incorporates grave social problems when it comes to the exploration of femininity. As embedding
social concerns in a text is normally seen in literature as a form of communicating these problems, it
is no surprise that the issue of femininity would turn up in Paradise Lost. Eve is portrayed
differently in the text both before the fall and after the fall. Milton's text is wholly religious in its
content and meaning, however Milton twists The Bible's interpretation to his own liking and
portrays Eve differently than The Bible does. In this essay, I will explore the gender imbalance
presented in the text between Adam and Eve and how it relates to disobedience and obedience of
God's word. I will be analyzing Milton's description of Eve before and after the fall compared to The
Bible. In Paradise Lost by John Milton, the portrayal of Eve's femininity is subject to critique, both
before and after the fall of man, as Milton places false claims on her actions and strays from the
original view of Eve from The Bible.
From the beginning of the epic, the presence of women is severely lacking, and the women who are
included in the epic are presented as evil, or shown through an unflattering and chauvinistic lens
particularly when it comes to physical appearance. Eve being the second original creation by God is
the closest to a female character

The First Sin Of Genesis : The Fall Of God
The fall of mankind refer back to the first sin of Adam and Eve, however their sin brought a cruse
upon mankind and nature. Genesis 3:1–24 explains the main points of the fall of mankind and also
the fall of humanity. Now the serpent was craftier than any of the wild animals the LORD God had
made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden"
(Genesis 3:1–24). Before the fall of mankind displayed the image of God perfectly. However, people
are still made in the image of God it is unrecognizable due to sin that we commit as human. "The
effects of this first sin upon our first parents themselves were "shame, a sense of degradation and
pollution; dread of the displeasure of God, or a sense of guilt, and the consequent desire to hide from
his presence. These effects were unavoidable. They prove the loss not only of innocence but of
original righteousness, and, with it, of the favor and fellowship of God. The state therefore to which
Adam was reduced by his disobedience, so far as his subjective condition is concerned, and was
analogous to that of the fallen angels. He was entirely and absolutely ruined" (Hodge's Theology)."
In result to the sin that Adam and Eve commit God punished both of them with the following to
woman was labor pains, desire for her husband, man will work the land ,and do work that is not
easy. In Genesis 1–2 it explains how the world was fill with peace and kindness everything worked

The purpose of this paper is to critique an article on the circumstances and characteristics of why
patients fall in the hospital setting. The article being critiqued defines a fall as an unexpected drop
from a sitting, standing, and lying position, which include an assisted fall (where someone helps
guide them to the floor), slipping from a chair to the floor, and when a patient is found on the floor
(Hitcho et al., 2008). This critique will discuss data collection, data management, analysis, and

The study's findings revealed that of the 183 patients that fell while hospitalized, the average age
was 63.4 with the ages ranging from 17 to 96. It also discovered that many of the falls were
unassisted, occurred in the evenings and in the patient's hospital room, and had fallen during
ambulation. It was also discovered that falls related to elimination increased the risks for injury. Out
of the medical, cardiology, neurology, surgical, oncology, orthopedic, and women/infant units that
were included in the study, the medical and neurology units had the highest incidence of falls. These
units also had the highest patient to nurse ratios (Hitcho et al., 2008). These findings also determined
that falls occurred when patients were unassisted, ambulating, and were related to elimination needs.
Because of these findings, prevention measures should focus on increasing staff assistance while
patients are ambulating and supervised/assisted toileting schedules need to be provided. The
findings can be applied to all areas of nursing. Despite prevention efforts, threats to reimbursement,
and good intentions, falls still remain a serious and costly

The Health Impacts And Costs Of Falling On Older Adults
Falls are the most frequent and devastating accidents in older adult (WHO, 2004). There are
different interpretations related to falls. For instance, according to healthcare professions fall is an
event leading to ill health and injuries, whereas older adults define it as a loss of balance (Zecevic et
al., 2006). Approximately, 28% to 35% older adults age 65 years and older fall each year (WHO,
2007). Around 85% of these falls occurs in the home among older adults living independently
(Tideiksaar, 1987). Falls accounts for 40% of all fatal injuries (Rubenstein, 2006). Fall is a reason
for 25% of all hospital admissions, 40% of all nursing home admissions and 40% of those admitted
do not return to independent living (Learn not to fall, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2010, the total medical as well as work–loss cost due to falls was $567 million (Ohio Department
of Health, 2013). Explicitly, falls represent a major health challenge for older adults and the health
care system. Fall experience in older adults is related to different consequences. The most common
psychological effects caused by falling experience are fear of falling, loss of self–efficacy, activity
avoidance and loss of self–confidence (Alice et al., 2008). Fear of falling is an increasing problem
and serious concern among older adults (Kong et al., 2002). Related to the falling experience, older
adults frequently report fear of falling (World Health Organization, 2007) also termed as 'post–fall
syndrome' (Murphy & Isaacs, 1982). Post–fall syndrome occurs when ambulatory persons develop
an intense fear and walking disorders (i.e. gait and balance abnormalities) after a fall experience.
Since, Murphy et al. defined post–fall syndrome, fear of fall was identified as one of the key
symptoms of this syndrome and has gained recognition as a specific health problem among older
adults. Fear of falling is widespread and has been reported as the most common fear of older adults
(Howland et al., 1993). It is an important aspect to consider, particularly for those who develop fear
after having fallen (Gagnon & Flint, 2003). However, fear of falling was also frequently found
among older adults who had not yet experienced a fall due to age related

Powerful Women of The Faerie Queene and Paradise Lost Essay
Two very powerful female figures are presented in Error of The Faerie Queene, and Sin of Paradise
Lost. These two characters are quite similar in description, Milton making a clear tribute to
Spencer's work. Both characters have the same monster qualities, and both posses allegorical names
and qualities.
Error is by far the most disgustingly described of the two monsters. In Book 1, Canto 1, she is the
first obstacle to meet the knight and his party. She represents the consequences of the night's
foolhardiness and over–confidence. Seeking shelter from a storm while lost in the woods, the knight
and his party come across a cave. He is warned by Una not to enter the dark and foreboding cave,
"Oft fire is without smoke, / and perill ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike the serpent in Eden, however, Error is unsuccessful.
Wishing to remain in darkness, "where plaine none might her see, nor she see any plaine,(144) she is
alarmed by the knight's intrusion and uncoils her tail in an attempt to escape. The knight, quick on
his feet, leaps "as lyon fierce upon the flying pray,(146)" and keeps here there to fight. This further
shows that the knight is just looking for a fight to impress the fair Una. After he strikes the beast
with his blade, she wraps the knight in her "huge traine." The tail is a literal foreshadowing of the
tangled mess the knight gets himself into with the other evil female character, Duessa, who,
figuratively, holds him in her tail of evil and deception.
As the knight seems defeated, held immovable by Error's tail, Una yells out her first inspirational
advice to "strangle her, else she sure will strangle thee(166)", which miraculously gives him the
extra strength to free a hand with which to grip the beast's throat. At this, the monster

The Cause And Effects Of Original Sin

  • 1. The Cause And Effects Of Original Sin Original Sin is what makes the world what it is today through its effects which cause sin, death, and pain to enter the world. It was brought upon us through the sin of Adam and Eve. Through their choice to disobey God, they damaged the relationship with God and humans. God gives us sin, death, and pain as a reminder that we are human beings and only through him may we attain life with him in a perfect world. Through the power of the Holy Spirit in Baptism, we are able to have Original Sin cleansed from us, but the effects of it remain with us. Without Original Sin we would all be living a life with complete union with God in a perfect world. Adam and Eve were the cause of Original Sin entering the world. Through the temptation of Satan, they chose to disobey God and turn away from him. This choice to turn away from God was the first sin of a human. Because of this, our relationship with God is weakened and sin, death, and pain, are now a part of our lives. We are born into the world with Original Sin and do not have a choice to get rid of the effects because their sin weakened our relationship with God to the point where we cannot live in perfect union with him until after our lives on Earth. Adam and Eve's sin is the cause of Original Sin and humans on Earth today are living the effects of it. This first sin by Adam and Eve is the cause of many things in the world today. Before the sin, they were in the Garden of Eden, where there were no problems and you were given ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Ltc Case Study People who live in the long–term care (LTC) facilities fall more frequently, more than any other environment. Falls in LTC have been on going huge problem for more than a decade now. According to Center of Disease Control (CDC, 2009) each year, a typical nursing home with 100 beds reports 100 to 200 falls. Many fall go unreported. Between half and three–quarters of nursing home residents fall each year. That's twice the rate of falls among older adults living in the community. Fall in LTC is very serious because most of these patients they fall multiple times in a one year calendar. This falls end up causing permanent injury, disability and death. According to CDC about 1800 people living in the nursing home die from falls each year and about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I do believe that most of us, do know that most of people living in the LTC are 65 years old and above .Most of these people have muscle weakness, impaired vision, decrease mobility and have some kind of memory impaired problems. But is the above reasons enough for elder peoples in the LTC continue to fall and sustain permanent injures and losing their life due to falls? What are the system doing to stop or to reduce these falls? Where are our interventions? Main factors why people in LTC experience a lot of falls includes muscle weakness ,balance problems, medication side effects, loss of sensation and vision ,memory loss and environmental factors. What kind of interventions are currently available to prevent falls or injury? Most of LTC facility they fall risk assessment for every new admission and all patients post fall. Other intervention includes patient and staff education, medication review, exercises program and sometimes they uses bed and chair alarm if necessary. According Willy & Osterberg (2014) any fall interventions that are used must be matched to each individual's risk factors and initiated before the fall occurs.my biggest question is ,are these interventions being effective ?if the answer is yes ,are the number of falls ... • 9. Cats Persuasive Speech Leon Wan ENG 2D–03 Ms. Gordon February 6th, 2017 Can cats survive all falls? Topic: Animals, Science Ratings: Fascinating, Informative Description: William Shakespeare referred to the myth "A cat has nine lives" in his play Romeo and Juliet, which arguably came from cats' ability to always land on their feet. The biped of ancient Egypt was fascinated by the feline arts of swiftness and tenacity for their remarkable survivals from high falls. In this short, interesting talk, Leon shares the science behind these amazing skills of cats. 5 years ago, "a cat in the US city of Boston survived a fall from a 19–storey window and only bruised her chest. How do cats survive falls from such great heights?" Can they survive all falls? The answer is obviously ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dead cats don't talk, and they don't go into hospital records. In recent decades, all of the cat fall statistics come from pet hospitals. Crazy experiments of throwing cats out of tall buildings don't exist. As a result, these statistics contain inevitable margins of errors – all of the cats sent to pet hospitals were the ones which their owners believed that could be saved, so the cats that died straight away were not accounted for. Can you imagine an owner asking a vet for treatment holding a pile of bloody flesh? In contrary, unless there were life risks, owners tend not to send cats who fell from lower floors to the hospitals. This explains why cats that fell from lower floors have a higher odds of injury than cats that fell from higher floors. The 90% survival rate from the studies was not the survival rate of cats that fell, but of those that were sent to hospitals for treatment. High survival rates can't explain why cats are good at falling. Cats that die on their way to the hospital, ones that weren't discovered in time after the fall, and those that could not be saved or died instantly couldn't affect the 90% survival rate because the statistics didn't include these unlucky ... • 13. Hamlet In Hamlet Immediately after Claudius takes the throne, Hamlet can perceive the perversion of the court. "O, that this too, too sallied1 flesh would melt,/Thaw and resolve itself into a dew!" (Shakespeare, 1.2.129–130). According to Dodsworth, an instinctual revulsion does not account for Hamlet's feeling of self–disgust. In English society at the time, Hamlet's unusual family situation was not definitively incestuous. He claims that Hamlet's (and the Ghost's) complaint of incest is "subordinate" to the larger issue of loss of honor (Dodsworth, 46–47). I propose, however, that this shame is more deep–rooted; a result of the collective depravity. Of all the characters in the play, Hamlet is the most aware of the presence of sin in the court. ...To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart–ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, 'tis a consummation (Shakespeare, 3.3.59–63). In Hamlets understanding, death is an escape from the pain of life: these pains, like "heart–ache" are "natural" and native to the body. All humans feel pain as it is an infection inherent to the "flesh." Hamlet contends that the distorted life they are living is a permanent, unalterable destiny. "You should not have believed me; for virtue cannot so inoculate our old stock but we shall relish of it" (3.1.115–116). He realizes that, even if "virtue" is enacted, even if good deeds are done, the "Old Adam" will not die. Later in the same scene, when Hamlet is speaking ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Information About The Festival Website Website Review www.fallsfestival.com Fallsfestival.com is a website designed to supply their target audience with information about the annual festival held over New Year, as a means of digitally marketing and providing the links to purchase tickets. Falls Music and Arts Festival is an annual, end of year, over 18s event, held in 4 separate locations, that appeals to a range of people through the diverse lineup that hosts many genres of music. The majority of attendees fall in the millennial category of 18–34 both male and female (Rana 2014, Leeannji 2015). Although this target audience is not majorly specific, it does give the designers of the Falls Festival website more of a direct idea of who they are aiming to make the website appeal to. Castells asked Kaestle what the "secret" was to appealing so specifically to a target audience to which he replied "get in their head" (Castells 2010). This quote is very fitting in terms of the way that the Falls Festival website designers have incorporated many themes that would be associated with the festival goers. The random animations and graphics that appear throughout the website, from fried eggs to bowling pins, are so arbitrary that it is infact this randomness which will appeal to the target audience of the festival goers. The graphics try to emulate the craziness that is associated with such festivals. Colour scheme needs to be considered very carefully when designing a website in order to meet the criteria of the target ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He "never saw it," and as a result it was able to successfully strike Super Man with cannon shells (101). This causes the bomber to roll sideways, which saves the life of Ray Lambert. If the plane had not rolled to its side, then it is extremely likely the cannon shell would have struck him in the head and killed him. Additionally, Hillenbrand incorporates onomatopoeia when describing the sounds of the cannon shells colliding with the plane to imitate the actual sound, which increases the accuracy of the portrayal of the event. B. Discussion of mode #2 Hillenbrand defines the B–24 bomber as a poorly built, dangerous aircraft that airmen are wary of. It is cramped, ugly, and unsafe. Flying it was similar to "wrestling a bear," and "there were several incidents in which B–24 tails dropped off in midair" (64). By defining the B–24 from the point of view of airmen, Hillenbrand emphasizes that it is not the preferred aircraft for the soldiers for the reasons listed. Instead, "the kind of plane that men wanted to be seen in" is the B–17 Flying Fortress (63). The Flying Fortress is "handsome, masculine, nimble, fiercely armed, reliable, long–winded, and practically indestructible" (63). This is in stark contrast to the B–24, and depicts the B–17 as the superior aircraft. They are only similar "[o]n paper," but their real life performance could not be more different ... The Fall is Camus' last completed novel according to the Nobel Prize in Literature. The Fall can be seen as complex. At times, interpreting and analyzing can be difficult to some when attempting to understand the novel. However, according to Referential Anxiety in Contemporary French Fiction by David R. Improving Quality And Safety For Patient Safety The Role of the Leader in Evaluating Data to Improve Quality and Safety Patient safety is a growing concern among healthcare professionals and the public (Goh, Chan, & Kuziemsky, 2013). As professional nurses, it is our duty to demonstrate improved safety for our patients, visitors and guests to the facilities in which we serve. It is also our duty to prevent adverse events and to view unfortunate incidents as learning opportunities to achieve a holistic view of patient care. By improving patient safety, we accept responsibility for more positive patient outcomes and a successful hospital stay. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the importance of data evaluation and interpretation to improve patient quality and safety. Data ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In reviewing the data set provided for this study, a large number of falls occurred between the hours of 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. This is the time that a phlebotomist typically enters the room for a morning blood draw or the nurse wakes the patient for a vital sign check. The patients are still in a daze, and it is possible after the clinical personnel leaves, the patient tries to climb out of bed unattended, resulting in a fall (Stempniak, 2015). Lee (2015), states "You disturb them, wake them up and they're groggy; then they try to get up and go to the restroom by themselves." They overestimate their ability to function and walk, resulting in a fall (Stempniak, 2015). In addition to the falls data, the Walden University case study (2015) reported "One full–time employee (FTE) of nursing assistants was moved from the night shift to the evening shift (Data Dashboard, 2015). This change in staff may contribute to the increased falls seen during the overnight hours. I took every Advanced Placement class my high school offered and still graduated with a 3.85 GPA. Unfortunately, after high school, I learned that my methods in high school no longer worked as well in college. In 2007, I enrolled at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. Augustana is a small, private university, and I learned plenty of academic, as well as life, lessons while attending. My grades at Augustana dropped slightly at first compared to what they were in high school. I finally realized that studying would be necessary; however I allowed myself to fall into the same trap as many other new students, and I chose to prioritize my social life over my academic life. After five semesters at Augustana, I realized two things. First of all, I decided I would need to fix my priorities, and, second, I figured out how expensive that private school actually was. Plagued by the idea that I had already ruined my life with my decision thus far, my thoughts careened out of control. Immediately following the winter semester of 2009, I transferred to Minnesota State University in Mankato, MN. I had hoped a new start would help, but as time went on, the thoughts worsened (with additional causes supplementing the previous reasons). Alcohol became more than just a social lubricant. Though alcohol kept me going for a long time, my grades suffered. During this time I proposed to my wife, who would have been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. Essay on Death Of Celilo Falls by Katrine Barber The purpose of this essay is to examine and analyze Katrine Barber's book, "Death of Celilo Falls". In this book, Barber successfully seeks to tell the story of a momentous event in the history of the West, the building of the Dalles Dam in 1957. Celilo Falls was part of a nine–mile area of the Long Narrows on the Columbia River. Despite the fact that the Celilo Village still survives to this day in the state of Oregon (it is the state's oldest continuously inhabited town), the assembly of The Dalles Dam in 1957 changed the way of life for the surrounding areas forever. Barber tells this story very well, and as it is the first book–length account of the inundation of Celilo Falls, it is a very valuable and insightful look at an influential ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She also explains the differences in thinking between the two communities. The Dalles wanted the increased "modernity and economic security that a federal dam and professional river management promised."(pg.14). The mid–size town was "on the verge of expansion and growth" (pg. 27) and supported the projects that "would make the city the "gateway" between Portland and the cities of the interior Northwest." (pg. 27). The Celilo Village and other surrounding Indians, however, saw the building of the dam as an encroachment upon their resources. The building of the dam would adversely affect the fishing industry which was vital to the native people's interests. She goes on to describe the natives' belief that they had a right to decide how the resources were used as well, describing on pages 20 through 25, the ancient, thriving community that the natives had prior to white settlement. According to Barber, the relations between the two communities were not entirely friendly, especially since "The Dalles and its non–Native residents displaced older Indian communities, both economically and culturally." (pg. 27) The interactions between the two communities were laced with racism and there was not much inter–mingling. Therefore, when the proposal of the Dalles Dam came through, the people of The Dalles did not see the rights of the Indians as important, especially since the dam ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Falls Prevention Within The Older Adult Over The Age Of 55... The paper will discuss falls prevention in the older adult over the age of 55 and new and alternative interventions for fall prevention compared to current practice. The desired outcome of the paper is to provide information for fall prevention and, therefore, decrease the occurrence of falls. First, in order to understand the importance falls have within the clinical setting, statistics showing the mortality, morbidity and financial impact should be understood. The occurrence of falls within the acute care setting is a growing problem among the elderly. The evidence shows that one in three people aged 65 or older will sustain a fall and that only half will report the fall to a caregiver (CDC, 2014). The number increases to one in two when the patient reaches the age of 80. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) defines a fall when a person unintentionally comes to rest on the ground or another lower level. Falls are not an inevitable part of aging, however, aging does influence such things as reduced mobility, comorbidities, and cognitive impairment which contribute to fall risk. Falls are one of the leading causes of injuries in the acute care setting. The injuries sustained from falls leads to increased hospital stay time and a chance for further injuries which may harm the patient (CDC, 2014). According to the CDC in 2013, 2.5 million people suffered a fall, of these falls 734,000 were hospitalized. The falls also resulted in 22,900 people dying from fall ... This was an American art movement that was known for the realistic and in depth portrayal of the American landscape and of its wilderness, both of which were heavily influenced by romanticism. One finds their ideals in the symbolic depiction of magnificent landscapes filled with literary references, sometimes close to fantastic themes. He would use his senses to depict how things should look, in addition to relaying on the drawings he had made while on the field. Risk Factors For Falls Among Geriatric Population Living Risk Factors for Falls Among Geriatric Population Living in Nursing Facilities Sharon Lando Mailyn Philavong Submitted to Dr. Logan in partial fulfillment of course NURS 409 Psychiatric of Nursing Morgan State University November 1, 2016 Risk Factors for Falls Among Geriatric Population Living in Nursing Facilities Falls are a major problem in elderly population in the United States living in nursing facilities. Statistics from Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) show that approximately 800,000 seniors fall each year and 1 in 3 of those will fall twice or one more time in a year. (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, 2012). Most falls are caused by a combination of risk factors. The more risk factors a person has, the greater their chances of falling. Healthcare providers can help cut down a person's risk by reducing the fall risk factors (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2012). Serious injuries have resulted from the falls such as hip fractures, concussions, decreased cognitive and functional abilities, and increased risk of death. The cost of treatment resulting from falls is rising each year. According to CDC, adjusted for inflation, the direct medical costs for fall injuries are $31 billion annually. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,2016). Those who do not suffer severe injuries live with fear of falling so they restrict their activities, which lead to increased comorbidities. Falls in a health care setting are costly to the patient, the health care facility and may affect the reimbursement that insurance gives to hospitals, yet they are preventable. Falls can be minor with just a few bumps and bruises or they can be major which can result in death. Not only are falls harmful to the patient but there is a lot of money and time that gets added up after a fall occurs *** There are many factors as to why a fall could take place, but being aware of the risk that a patient is a fall risk from the beginning can help avoid a fall from ever occurring. Accurately identifying a patient as a fall risk and communicating to other staff within 24 hours of admission is key to help in the prevention of falls. Current Knowledge of the Patient Safety Concern/Quality Improvement Issue (State and National Context) Falls are one of the most common inpatient adverse events. According to the World Health Organization, a fall is defined as an event that results in a person coming to rest inadvertently on the ground or floor or other lower level (WHO 2016). In 2012, the cost of fall injuries totaled more than $36 billion. As the population ages, the financial toll for older–adult falls is projected to reach $59.6 billion by 2020. (NCQA 2015). It is a forested landscape made up of rocks ranging several hundred meters in height and consists with rich biodiversity and a habitat to many types of wildlife. The ridge extends 725 km in length from Queenston on Niagara River through densely populated areas like Hamilton, Milton to Tobermory at the tip of Bruce peninsula (CanadianEncyclopedia). The escarpment exists in a horseshoe shape around Michigan and dates back up to 430 to 450 million years ago when the area lay under a shallow sea, which is referred as the Ordovician era by geologists. It was formed through different processes of erosion by weathering and streams and deposition of different particles. Today it well known for one of its numerous waterfalls those lie within, known as the Niagara Falls. Milton recreates the creation in an English epic and retells the events of the fall of Satan from Heaven, and the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden. Eve appears to be at fault for the fall of humankind and for her and Adam's exile from Eden, because Eve gave into Satan's temptation. However, if Eve is at fault for the fall of all humankind, than who is at fault for Satan's fall? God provided Adam and Eve with free will, which allowed them to roam Eden and live freely. They had one rule from God; God told them to never eat from the Tree of Knowledge. However, given that they were granted free will and Satan lurked ready to tempt Adam and Eve, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of taking Eve's ideas into consideration, he replies "for nothing lovelier can be found / In woman, than to study household good, / And good works in her husband to promote" (232–234). Basically, Adam indicates a woman's job is to fulfill the domestic duties of her home and for her family. These very limiting compliments mirror the admirations of good wives that are found in the Bible. Eve suggests that her and Adam separate so that they can accomplish more work, but Adam fears the danger that lurks around them and expresses that she would be "safest and seemliest by her husband" (268) who will protect her from whatever tries to attack them. Not only is Eve condemned to household responsibilities, but Adam also suggests that Eve does not have the strength to protect herself without man. As a result, Eve feels inferior to Adam, so she establishes her identity and separates from him demonstrating that she has the strength to avoid danger and temptation. In addition, Satan demonstrates Eve's constraints under God and inferiority to all men because he tempts her to commit sin. Milton writes about how Satan encourages Eve to eat the fruit: "Fixed on the fruit she gazed, which to behold / Might tempt alone" (733–736). Milton uses internal rhyme "behold" and "alone" and enjambment to illustrate Satan's sly nature; as he slips from one line into the next, Eve, too, is propelled into the decision to eat the apple. Then, he transitions into an Identity Moratorium status where he delays his commitment to being the Brain and explores "alternative ideologies" and sides to himself when he smokes weed and connects to the troubles and philosophies of the rest of the Breakfast Club (Weiten, 457). Finally, at the end of the movie, Brian achieves the Identity Achievement status where he grows closer to a sense of identity and direction after "thinking through alternative possibilities," or hanging out with the rest of the Breakfast Club (Weiten, 457). After being accepted by others, Brian builds his self–esteem and values his life despite his failures once and for all. Out of the id, ego and superego of Freud's theory of personality, the superego is the one that mostly controls Brian. Brian's superego internalizes society's "norms, etiquette, rules, and customs" much like his ego, but his ego doesn't overpower since he's not trying to mediate his id which craves for irrational, impulsive, primitive and childish desires (Weiten, 480). • 81. Sam Patch Essay Jonathan Kroger History 2111 April 22, 2010 "Sam Patch's Leap into the Great Divide" "Some things can be done as well as others", the famous line of Sam Patch became a well–known saying amongst U.S. citizens especially Jeffersonian and Jacksonian democrats (Johnson, 163). Sam Patch was many things in his lifetime from a famous falls jumper to a destitute mill worker to also the first American–born boss spinner. He however was viewed different amongst social groups in America. The common folk and Jeffersonian democrats viewed Patch as a good man and somewhat of a folk hero, while the middle class and Hamiltonians viewed him as a drunkard and a sign of the decay of society in America. He was a product of the harsh system and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand; the middle class who was most often associated with Hamiltonian views viewed Sam Patch as a simple drunkard and a symbol of the decay and immoralities of American society. Journalists during his time wrote Sam Patch "like many other great geniuses is a greater friend to the bottle than the bottle is to him" (Johnson, 115). The middle class viewed themselves as "respectables" and the wage–earning class was inferior to them, which is evident in the celebration ceremonies in Paterson on the Fourth of July. Celebrations started off with a parade, banquet, and fireworks where all Patersonians were welcome to participate, but gradually transitioned to a more exclusive celebration of a large group of respectable "Young Men" where toasts weren't based on patriotism anymore yet based on entrepreneurial progress (Johnson, 65). Sam Patch's celebrity and life not only showed growing social and political differences, but it showed the increasing gap that was growing between the wage–earning and middle class as a result of the market revolution. The wage–earning class was the debtors, debtors who owed money and had to work to make a living for creditors, most of whom made up what would be known as the middle class. The tradition of fathers passing their land on down to their sons was slowly dying such as with Mayo Greenleaf Patch and his sons. Mayo Patch's life was riddled with owing debts to the middle ... • 89. A Separate Peace Analysis A Separate Peace tells the story of Gene's painful but necessary growth into adulthood, a journey of deepening understanding about his responsibility and his place in a wider world. At the beginning of the novel, the young Gene stands unconcerned, self–absorbed, by the tree that will test his true nature. By the end, Gene has suffered and inflicted suffering, and he has grown into an understanding of his own dark motives. He has lost his innocence and has gained experience. Gene's innocence at the opening of the novel represents a childlike happiness in conformity. By obeying the rules – occasionally rebelling mildly through sarcasm, "the protest of people who are weak" – Gene maintains a comfortable life, predictable and unthreatening, like Leper's dining room. In Devon, obedient to the rules, approved by the masters, Gene is safe, but he cannot grow. Growth can come only through conflict and struggle, and Gene's conformity acts as a shield against such challenges. Finny breaks through Gene's shield of conformity, daring him to experience the world more directly, by breaking rules and creating new traditions. With Finny, Gene explores a life unbounded by familiar routines imposed by adults. The freedom exhilarates Gene at times – the first forbidden jump from the tree brings him to a new, heightened awareness of life – but uncertainty nags at him. Finny's whims disturb Gene's comfortable routine of study and proper behavior, habits of obedience that win the approval of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even the hospitals make all the efforts to prevent falls, falls still occur frequently and some repeatedly. According to Currie (2008), approximately 700000 to 1000000 individuals fall in the United States hospitals each year. A fall in a health care organization is considered a never–event by Medicare and Medicaid services(CMS) (Cox et al., 2015). As the result, health care facilities are not reimbursed for hospitalized falls which increase the economic burden of hospitals. Background of study Falls can be categorized into unanticipated physiologic, anticipated physiologic, accidental or intentional (as cited in Cox et al., 2015). Furthermore, the causes of inpatient falls include patients' intrinsic and extrinsic risk factors as well as organizational or workforce factors (Cox et al., 2015). The methods of fall prevention are tailored to patients' unique intrinsic or extrinsic risks; however, fall prevention tactics are not created for an individual, they are used in various patient populations (Cox et al., 2015). Moreover, the scale from the fall risk assessment tools, for example: Morse Falls Risk Assessment Scale and the Hendrich I Falls Risk Assessment Scale, do not specify the type of fall for individual, making it hard to design or direct fall prevention approaches by individual 's physiological or environmental risks (Cox et al., 2015). A model summary and a map of model components (see attached) were handed out. The Four Mile Run SWMM5 Model results were found to match observed flows at the Shirlington gage, especially for large storms (5,000 cfs or larger). However, for the tributaries, small streams and upper Four Mile Run segments, the model performance cannot be validated until local wet weather flow data are collected. There's a challenge, though, when planning a trip because the country is so massive it's difficult to know where to start or end up. It's difficult to narrow the tourist attractions down to just 5 because there are so many, but we dedicated ourselves to choosing the absolute best and here's what we came up with. Please note: they're all so awesome we haven't put them in any particular order. 1. Perito Moreno Glacier Another UNESCO site, and this one you will find in El Calafte, a small town which is home to Los Glaciares National Park. What's of interest here? The Perito Moreno Glacier, not only is it the third largest fresh water reserve on the planet, it is also home to an 18 mile long ice formation. The visitor center is just two hours from the town and from the center there's only a short walk to reach to glacier via a walking circuit. For the more adventurous spirits out there... you can climb Perito Moreno! Yes, there are tours available from a quick hour walk on the surface of the ice to a five hour trek. That's not all you will find at the park, though. There's also a 2 mile high mountain, Monte Fitz Roy, which is just as treacherous as Everest. 2. Ushuaia Patagonia is well known for incredible landscapes, bragging massive stretches of plateaus and plains, made all the more dramatic by the backdrop of the Andes. This southern hot spot also happens to feature Ushuaia – which just happens to be the most southern city in the world. It got its start in the 20th century as a penal colony, but now it's become the place to launch adventures. It's the starting point for trips around Cape Horn and kicking off an Antartic adventure. It's fondly known as the end of the world and has a truly unique landscape that features woods, mountains, glaciers, and sea. It sits at the very edge of Tierra del Fuego National Park. In fact, you'll want to visit the National Park, too, while you are in the area. There are also two museums that shows the unique history of the area, and a lighthouse (built in 1884).

  • 111. Why Zoos Should Not Be Used By the basic definition, something is rare when it either does not occur often or it is not found in large numbers which adds to its interest and value. The rarity of an object can be argued by different groups of people. This causes debates about what should be considered rare and to what degree of rarity an object is. If said object is classified as rare, what should be done with that object or idea and how, if at all, should it be preserved. In this essay, I am going to question the idea of rarity and show why rarity should not be used as a way to regulate environments. One view of rarity comes from the realists; they believe "... an object is unique within a purview: given a certain boundary, there exists no other object like it. " This idea makes defining something as rare only specific to the boundary set. So, if something is rare in America it may not be as rare, if rare at all, in Europe. This could have complications when considering different aspects of nature and how to define those aspects as rare. For example, to Americans the Niagara Falls is a rare phenomenon and should be maintained due to their rarity, however in other parts of the world there are falls just as good, if not better than the Niagara Falls. An example of this would be the Victoria Falls in Africa; this is also a rare phenomenon but is it equally as rare as the Niagara Falls? When trying to regulate environments, rarity always comes into play as it pertains to preservation. The rarer something ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fall Prevention In The Elderly Essay Quality Improvement for Fall Prevention in the Elderly The occurrence of falls among the elderly is related to multiple factors, such as inherent and external issues. Studies have proven that when appropriate intervention is put in place, falls are preventable. Most people generally do not approve of changes. It causes fear, mistrust, isolation, and even pain. In my youth, I liked changes. Changes were something to look forward to, it 's fun to meet new people and an enjoyable way to see new places. It was useful to learn new skills and live experiences. So at the age of fifteen, my mother told me we were headed for America. No attention was given to these words, because I was a teenager who thought that the state of Texas would be quite similar to Toronto, but never did I imagine that this will completely change my perception of change. These changes have led me to understand the different culture between the north and south, not to believe in stereotypes, and made me adaptable. I can't even begin to explain the massive cultural differences between modern–day North and South. Most people assume only climate and slang are the major difference in the two, however they could not be more wrong. Especially between Toronto and Wichita Falls, Texas. It may sound obvious but there is geographical difference. For one in the North we have more clear and fast rivers, and we almost always have a bay. • 135. Femininity In Paradise Lost Analysis Femininity is a topic that has seen controversial debate over the course of the last few centuries. John Milton is not exempt from this, as he is a self–proclaimed polemicist. Utilizing his texts as tools, Milton relays important social, political, and economic messages of concern to the public. His political nature has led to his imprisonment and threats to his life (Campbell 2009). Amidst his unpopularity during the time, Milton persisted with his publication endeavours of controversial texts. Throughout his life, Milton had three marriages, the first of which was very brief, and prompted his support towards legalizing divorce (Campbell 2009). Two of these three marriages led to divorce which implies that Milton's views are translated into his pivotal piece, Paradise Lost. As one of his most important texts, seen as a brilliant piece of English literature, Paradise Lost certainly incorporates grave social problems when it comes to the exploration of femininity. As embedding social concerns in a text is normally seen in literature as a form of communicating these problems, it is no surprise that the issue of femininity would turn up in Paradise Lost. Eve is portrayed differently in the text both before the fall and after the fall. Milton's text is wholly religious in its content and meaning, however Milton twists The Bible's interpretation to his own liking and portrays Eve differently than The Bible does. In this essay, I will explore the gender imbalance presented in the text between Adam and Eve and how it relates to disobedience and obedience of God's word. I will be analyzing Milton's description of Eve before and after the fall compared to The Bible. In Paradise Lost by John Milton, the portrayal of Eve's femininity is subject to critique, both before and after the fall of man, as Milton places false claims on her actions and strays from the original view of Eve from The Bible. From the beginning of the epic, the presence of women is severely lacking, and the women who are included in the epic are presented as evil, or shown through an unflattering and chauvinistic lens particularly when it comes to physical appearance. Genesis 3:1–24 explains the main points of the fall of mankind and also the fall of humanity. Now the serpent was craftier than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden" (Genesis 3:1–24). Before the fall of mankind displayed the image of God perfectly. However, people are still made in the image of God it is unrecognizable due to sin that we commit as human. "The effects of this first sin upon our first parents themselves were "shame, a sense of degradation and pollution; dread of the displeasure of God, or a sense of guilt, and the consequent desire to hide from his presence. These effects were unavoidable. They prove the loss not only of innocence but of original righteousness, and, with it, of the favor and fellowship of God. The state therefore to which Adam was reduced by his disobedience, so far as his subjective condition is concerned, and was analogous to that of the fallen angels. Research Critique 2 Patient Falls Research Critique, Part 2 Jennifer Bullard Grand Canyon University Introduction to Nursing Research NRS433 Martha Schmidt October 07, 2012 Research Critique, Part 2 The purpose of this paper is to critique an article on the circumstances and characteristics of why patients fall in the hospital setting. The article being critiqued defines a fall as an unexpected drop from a sitting, standing, and lying position, which include an assisted fall (where someone helps guide them to the floor), slipping from a chair to the floor, and when a patient is found on the floor (Hitcho et al., 2008). There was some researcher bias because some of the information that was collected from different sources conflicted, and the person who collected the data best judgment was used. Many patients recall of the circumstances surrounding their fall was not dependable. The study's findings revealed that of the 183 patients that fell while hospitalized, the average age was 63.4 with the ages ranging from 17 to 96. It also discovered that many of the falls were unassisted, occurred in the evenings and in the patient's hospital room, and had fallen during ambulation. It was also discovered that falls related to elimination increased the risks for injury. Out of the medical, cardiology, neurology, surgical, oncology, orthopedic, and women/infant units that were included in the study, the medical and neurology units had the highest incidence of falls. These units also had the highest patient to nurse ratios (Hitcho et al., 2008). These findings also determined that falls occurred when patients were unassisted, ambulating, and were related to elimination needs. Because of these findings, prevention measures should focus on increasing staff assistance while patients are ambulating and supervised/assisted toileting schedules need to be provided. The findings can be applied to all areas of nursing. Despite prevention efforts, threats to reimbursement, and good intentions, falls still remain a serious and costly ... Explicitly, falls represent a major health challenge for older adults and the health care system. Fall experience in older adults is related to different consequences. The most common psychological effects caused by falling experience are fear of falling, loss of self–efficacy, activity avoidance and loss of self–confidence (Alice et al., 2008). Fear of falling is an increasing problem and serious concern among older adults (Kong et al., 2002). Related to the falling experience, older adults frequently report fear of falling (World Health Organization, 2007) also termed as 'post–fall syndrome' (Murphy & Isaacs, 1982). • 156. Powerful Women of The Faerie Queene and Paradise Lost Essay Two very powerful female figures are presented in Error of The Faerie Queene, and Sin of Paradise Lost. These two characters are quite similar in description, Milton making a clear tribute to Spencer's work. Both characters have the same monster qualities, and both posses allegorical names and qualities. Error is by far the most disgustingly described of the two monsters. In Book 1, Canto 1, she is the first obstacle to meet the knight and his party. She represents the consequences of the night's foolhardiness and over–confidence. Seeking shelter from a storm while lost in the woods, the knight and his party come across a cave. He is warned by Una not to enter the dark and foreboding cave, "Oft fire is without smoke, / and perill ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike the serpent in Eden, however, Error is unsuccessful. Wishing to remain in darkness, "where plaine none might her see, nor she see any plaine,(144) she is alarmed by the knight's intrusion and uncoils her tail in an attempt to escape. The knight, quick on his feet, leaps "as lyon fierce upon the flying pray,(146)" and keeps here there to fight. This further shows that the knight is just looking for a fight to impress the fair Una. After he strikes the beast with his blade, she wraps the knight in her "huge traine." The tail is a literal foreshadowing of the tangled mess the knight gets himself into with the other evil female character, Duessa, who, figuratively, holds him in her tail of evil and deception. As the knight seems defeated, held immovable by Error's tail, Una yells out her first inspirational advice to "strangle her, else she sure will strangle thee(166)", which miraculously gives him the extra strength to free a hand with which to grip the beast's throat. At this, the monster ...spewd out of her filthy maw A floud of poyson horrible and blacke, Full of great lumpes of flesh and gobbets raw, Which stunck so vildly, that it forst him slack His grasping hold, and from her turne him back: Her vomit full of bookes and papers was,
