(1) Attention Getting Device: According to an article titled Don t Believe in the War On Women?
Would a Body Count Change Your Mind? , since September 11, 2001 more American women
were killed by an intimate partner than all of the victims of 9/11 and all of the American military
fatalities in Iraq and Afghanistan combined (Gidfar, 2012). One woman is fatally shot by a spouse,
ex spouse or dating partner every 14 hours, states Wright (2016) from the U.S. Department of
Defense, and these are just the statistics for women, but domestic violence happens to men, as well,
but less often.
(2) Thesis Statement: Everyone in this room has a voice. We can take a stand and use our voice to
educate ourselves and others on healthy relationships and decrease the number of women and men
who are victims of domestic violence.
(3) Justification: It does not just happen to other people or certain kinds of people (Day, 2016). It
can happen to our sisters. It can happen to our brothers. It can happen to our friends. It can happen

The Causative Bacterial Agent For Lyme Disease
Borrelia burgdorferi, the causative bacterial agent for Lyme Disease, has persisted for thousands
of years. Recently, scientists have found genetic remains of the bacteria from a mummy dating
back 5,300 years (National Geographic, 2011). However, Borrelia burgdorferi was not classified
and identified as the putative source for Lyme Diseaseuntil the early 1980 s.
After mysterious and untreatable symptoms appeared in children and adults of the city of Lyme,
Connecticut, the goal for many clinical microbiologists was to discover the source of disease and
possible cures. It wasn t until Dr. Willy Burgdorfer made a connection between the infected

Borrelia burgdorferi have many defining characteristics. The spirochete shape distinguishes the

Carnival Corporation is the largest cruise company in the industry. They have over 100 ships
across many different brands. They sell cruises to anyone around the world, as long as they have
access to the ports of departure. Carnival produces, or buys, their ships from numerous shipyards

A Christmas Story the Musical The movie A Christmas Story has always been a family favorite
and tradition, so when the opportunity came up to go and see it as a theater production, my mom
and I knew that is exactly what we wanted to see. On December 2nd, my mom and I spent the day
together by getting dinner, going shopping, and ending the night with a play. A ChristmasStory the
