Versailles Peace Treaty Causes
What causes war? An escalation of a disagreement or argument perhaps? A failure of economy
maybe? A desperate society willing to support tyranny for the sake of their country? Questions such as
these form in many minds wondering after finally ending the first world war ever known to man how
it became possible that not long after we would endure yet another. The Versailles Peace Treaty did
but the opposite of extending peace but provoked hostility. Out of the 440 clauses in the treaty, 414 of
these clauses were solely focused on payback and punishment towards Germany. Germany had no say
in the matter and were forced to sign and accept the terms of this Peace Treaty . This angered many
Germans for their land was taken, they were pushed into

Essay On Person Centred Care
Introduction
Hi my name is Donna we are here today to talk about person centred care.
Person centred care is where the care goes beyond the normal individualised care duties for patients,
Person centred care promotes and supports the well being of the person with dementia, and improves
the quality of life of people with dementia. Kitwood (1997) promotes that the person with dementia is
equal to that of the person who is caring for them. Many researchers in the field of dementia agree
that, despite a loss of cognition, the person who has dementia is still a person with the same attributes
of a human being as any other person (Kitwood 1997).
Person centred care provides a set of guiding principles for our actions in the field of dementia care
that enable people with dementia to be in relationship with others. There are four major elements of
care (VIPS), Valuing people, Individualised care, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Validation is one of them. Validation Recognises and supports the persons reality (Kitwood Bredin
1992). This is where we are sensitive to the person s emotions and feelings, we acknowledge and
accept the person s reality, and we are directed by our knowledge of the person we are caring for. We
have to use a great degree of empathy for the person with dementia and trying to understand the
persons frame of mind, it doesn t matter how chaotic, paranoid or hallucinatory it is(Kitwood 1997).
You can incorporate validation into your routine. Like having a conversation and trying to understand
what the person with dementia is trying to verbalise, and don t dismiss the way they are acting or the
activity the person with dementia may be expressing. Assistance should be given to enable the person
to engage with everyday tasks as best they can, for example having a bath and getting dressed in ways
that are comfortable and routine for them, including choices about how and when these are

Compare And Contrast Two Teacher And Montessorel
For this assessment I am required to undertake an essay on two educational theorists that if have
studied in this case the two educational theorists are Maria Montessori and Frederick Froebel. This
will involve an in depth evaluation and comparison of the two theorists under the following headings
their philosophies, their contribution to early childhood education in terms of their approach and
implementation and my personal thoughts on their approaches to helping the development of young
children but also in educating young children.
Philosophies
Maria Montessori approach had respect for children as individuals. She monitored the children s
reaction through their primary senses such as self confidence and independence and their natural
curiosity to learn. She observed in young children the situation she called absorbent mind. Children
learn from their everyday surroundings. The most important period of life is not the age of university
studies but the period of birth to age six . She studied that between conception to age four 50% of
mature intelligence is developed and from ages four to eight 30% is developed. in Montessori schools
the teacher in the classroom allows every child to pick activities which interest them [Montessori
country school, 2017]. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She did not believe in testing children as it would damage and portray negative thoughts in their
minds. Children are in control of their own environments, which has dramatically prepared for them to
be stimulating, comfortable and to encourage independence by giving them the tools and
responsibility to manage its upkeep. This is a child centred approach. When Maria noticed that
equipment and furnishings were only suitable for adults she designed her own ones suitable for
children. Today they are used in all Montessori schools [O Shea,

Causes Of Social Media
Social media can be used for many purposes. Throughout the years social media has grown around the
world. As social media is rising, adults and teenagers are joining social outlets such as Facebook,
Snapchat, and Instagram. Even though social media is a big impact in today s society it could do more
harm than good. Social media can cause harm because of isolation, bullying, and it could be
dangerous.
One reason for my belief is that social media can cause isolation. Because of social media individuals
are connected by texting, calling on the phone, or video chatting but this replaces real interactions and
can make an individual feel left out. A study of 1,787 participants expressed their feelings as I feel that
people are around me but not with me. Individuals also expresses, I feel that people barely know me
(Willingham). Also, social media has caused a decline in social events. Miller McPherson, Lynn Smith
Lovin and Mathew Brashear s who are all sociologist s comments They depicted the rise of internet
and mobile phones as one of the major trends that pulls people away from traditional social settings,
neighborhoods, voluntary associations, and public spaces that have been associated with large and
diverse core networks (Hampton). Even though social media is a significant part of communication at
a certain point it could make an individual isolate themselves and from their surroundings. Another
reason for my belief is that social media can cause bullying. Bullying

Themes Of Catch 22
Catch 22 s Recurrent Themes as Real World Issues
Heller provides a satirical depiction of military bureaucracy and authoritarianism through the many
antics of a B 25 bombardier, Yossarian. When Catch 22 was first released, its reviews were polarizing.
Some critics praised its raunchy humor and depiction of war, in all of its gruesome detail. Others
loathed its seemingly nonsensical plot structure and repetitiveness. Heller, born in 1923, was part of
the G.I. Generation and served during World War II in the Army Air Corps as a bombardier. He flew
sixty missions, but one drastically affected Heller. In a flight to Avignon, after dropping his bombs, his
pilot went into a large climb but nearly stalled the plane s engines. In order to stop ... Show more

He would plead insanity, but he cannot due to the Catch 22 principle that requires him to file a report
of insanity; however, this would prove he is actually sane because he fears for his own life. Yossarian
witnesses the death or disappearance of most of his close friends before the end of the book, leaving
him with nothing to lose. In a final act of defiance, Yossarian proclaims that he is not flying any more
missions. The officers take him into custody and give him an offer: go home to the United States and
spread the good word about the war effort, or be court martialed. He takes the first offer, but then goes
AWOL in a B 25 on a route to Switzerland (Heller). The Catch 22 principle and Yossarian s defiant
acts create a picture of the effects of authoritarianism, greed, as well as military bureaucracy as seen
through the eyes of Heller during the 1950s and 1960s.
The Catch 22 principle functions as a literary device repeatedly throughout the book as a
representation of authority s theft of personal freedom. The principle is repeatedly used as a
justification for obscene acts and statements in the book. For example, at one point Military Police
officers raid a brothel frequented by the soldiers and officers. They ransack the building and destroy
everything that is breakable. When Yossarian arrives to the brothel, an old woman is worried sick
about all of the prostitutes and says Catch 22 says they have a right to do

The Effect Of Ethanol On The Production Of Ethanol
The production of Ethanol has been happening for many of years. The production of Ethanol is a form
alcoholic beverages, which humans have been drinking for many of hundreds of years. Ethanol is
produced when alcoholic fermentation occurs. Alcoholic or Ethanol fermentation is a biological
process that produces ethanol without needing oxygen. What is needed for this process to work is
glucose and yeast. The production of alcohol or ethanol is the chemical reaction that happens when
yeast breaks downs glucose (sugar). Glucose + Yeast → Alcohol + Carbon Dioxide. The different
types of alcoholic beverages come from the different glucose used, like the glucose from different
fruits. Whenever producing Ethanol or Alcohol you need to make sure that it is being brewed into a
vessel which allows the carbon dioxide to escape and prevents oxygens from coming in.
The Volmith Boutique Brewery has recently opened up their business and the demand of their
products has put stress on their staff. They have hired an group to conduct out a series of experiments
to observe the significant changes that might hinder or improve the production rate of the alcohol
being produced. The first variable we change was the temperature the group keep the flasks at. It was
hypothesised by the individual that the flasks that were at the temperature of 37 degrees and 25
degrees were to produce the most ethanol. This is because the optimal temperature for yeast is in
between 35 45 degrees. The flask that

Essay On Mental Illness In Macbeth
Ladies and Gentlemen, in the trial of The People of Scotland vs. Macbeth, the prosecution will claim a
tale of a power hungry man who let ambition get the best of him. They will present physical evidence
of him with the dagger, him conspiring with his wife, and him hiring men to kill. However, the
evidence presented today by the defense will tell the true story: a man overtaken by mental illness.
Macbeth displays the classic signs of narcissistic personality disorder: elevated sense of entitlement
and delusions about power. While Macbeth did commit the murders, he was insane, and therefor did
not commit the murders with criminal intent. The extent of his mental disorder has manifested in
hallucinations and the gradual unraveling of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Macbeth may talk of big plans to assassinate Duncan, but at the root he is still a good person. His
description predicts the eventual effect of his actions: total and complete loss of rational self, and
slippage into full blown psychosis. Following this point, Macbeth should not be held accountable for
his crimes, as he goes completely insane.
A characteristic of narcissistic personality disorder is heavy hallucinations, caused by a fantasy the
person has imagined for themselves. Even before he murders Duncan, Macbeth s delusion of him
becoming king manifests through hallucinations involving murder imagery. As he walks towards
Duncan s room, a floating dagger, only visible by him, leads him there. The mirage he has placed
himself in, where he is king of Scotland, has caused his subconscious to produce delusions, Is this a
dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. I have thee not
and yet I see thee still (2.1.44 45). Macbeth acknowledges that the dagger is not real, and yet he still
attempts to clutch it, fully invested in his fantasy. He describes later as A dagger of the mind , as if the
very delusions he is undergoing are ripping his mind apart (2.1.50). However, through the phrases of
the mind and I have thee not connote that he knows the visions

I got the formula for the margin of error and applied it, 1.644853626*√62/100*(1 62/100)/100=
.0798389652 which will be the margin of error. I applied the formula of p̂ E ≤ p ≤ p̂ +E since we know
p̂ = 62/100 and we calculated the margin of error (E) 1.644853626 then I applied the formula 62/100
1.644853626 ≤ p ≤ 62/100+1.644853626 and calculate it to be .5401610348 ≤ p ≤ .6998389652. I will

I did the diagram for the 95% confidence interval which then added the left side of .95 and .025 to get
.975. I used InvNorm(.975) and calculated the z score of 1.959963986 and applied the margin of error
formula 1.959963986*√62/100*(1 62/100)/100= .0951339949. Once finding the margin of error I
applied the formula 62/100 .0951339949 ≤ p ≤ 62/100+.09513399496 and I calculated .5248660051 ≤
p ≤ .7151339949.

William Shakespeare Authorship Essay
Shakespeare was a famous poet and playwright who wrote over thirty plays that are still wildly
popular today. Although it is widely accepted that William Shakespeare wrote his own material, there
are many people who believe that he was not the true author of the works attributed to him. Arguments
against Shakespeare s authorship range from people believing that it was all a political cover up, and
that there isn t enough factual evidence to come to the conclusion that Shakespeare truly did write his
own work, to the conclusion that there are faults in the Oxfordian Theory of Shakespeare Authorship.
Ultimately, the most valid evidence supports that Shakespeare is in fact the author of the most famous
plays and sonnets of all time.
Although there is not an exact day for William Shakespeare s birth, his birthday can roughly be placed
around April in 1564.He grew up in Stratford upon Avon, located near London, and he was the oldest
of his siblings. Shakespeare had a Latin education as a kid, because as the son of a leading Stratford
citizen, he almost certainly attended Stratford s grammar school. Like all such schools, its curriculum
consisted of an intense emphasis on the Latin classics (Folger Shakespeare Library, 2017). Following
his Latin School background, it is not known how he got his start in theatre, but in 1592 the first
mention of Shakespeare was released, and he was known as an established London actor and
playwright, mocked by a contemporary as a Shake scene

Rube Goldberg Project Research Paper
The Rube Goldberg Project, assigned by my science teacher to instigate creativity and out of the box
thinking, brought out the ingenuity in all of us. Our task was to create a Rube Goldberg Machine that
was capable of ringing a desk bell. Individually or in groups, we had to build the machine and present
it to the class. This task seemed moderately simple, but in truth, it was much more complicated than
any of us had realized. Specific requirements needed to be met that further hardened the project.
However, by studying Rube Goldberg s life, his cartoons, and his machine, we were able to tackle the
challenge presented, including forging a team that would persevere through many challenges.
Rube Goldberg is hailed as one of the greatest cartoonists ever for his exemplary work; therefore, he

machines in them. The spiral, mousetrap, gear, tubing, car, zip ties, cardboard, wood, pegboard, dowel

great deal of time went into the creation of the project. My team worked well together, but as
expected, we had a few bumps in the road along the way. As was stated previously, Zac became sick at
a vital time of work. Work was distributed reasonably evenly amongst our group. We had both come
up with solid ideas that could be further enhanced. The project itself bounced from house to house.

Alan Bennett s A Cream Cracker Under the Settee Doris, the 75 year old house proud woman is the
main character, the only character in fact in Alan Bennett s dramatic monologue A Cream Cracker
Under the Settee . This play is divided into four scenes, each of which are demarcated by blackout.
These four scenes show the passage of time throughout one day in the life of Doris, and changes of
room and position. Given the limitations its form imposes the play is a successful piece of drama. One
of the limitations is that there is only one character, so there cannot be any character conflicts e.g. a

Athanasius On The Incarnation
Athanasius On the Incarnation In the year 325 A.D., the Council of Nicaea met and addressed the
question of who Christ is. The council revolved around a belief known as Arianism, which was started
by a priest named Arius. Arius denied that Jesus is divine. He claimed that Jesus Christ and the Holy
Spirit are nothing more than God s creatures. The Council of Nicaea, however, rejected Arianism and
affirmed that Jesus was not created like all other things were. They said that Jesus and God share the
same divine substance, which means that Jesus is one with God the Father. Essentially, Jesus is God.
Saint Athanasius, who was a bishop of Alexandria at the time of the Nicene council, shared a similar
theology to that set out in the council. Athanasius ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He made it his mission to conquer death and bring back all those who had been led astray. Athanasius
refers to a verse from the gospel of Luke to show that scripture tells the story of God s plan. I came to
seek and to save which was lost. (Luke 19:10) An interesting thing that Athanasius does in his writings
is that he explains things by raising questions that one might ask and providing his answers for them.
He answers the questions through logic of the faith. When discussing what God did to save the world,
he raises the question: Since, then, human beings had become so irrational and demonic deceit was
thus overshadowing every place and hiding the knowledge of the true God, what was God to do? (62).
God knew what he had to do to undo all the corruption that existed among humans and that was to
become human himself. Athanasius tells us that God sojourned as a human being, taking to himself a
body like theirs, (64). Jesus is the Word that God sent and the Word was God becoming man, which
means that the Word of God is God himself. God worked through his son Jesus to make himself
present to the people. Athanasius again turns to scripture to show that Jesus works were all part of God
s plan to save humanity. If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me; but if I do, even if
you don t believe me, believe my works, that you might know and understand that the Father is in me

Lord Capulet Monologue
Loved ones, I welcome you all to this sorrowful place, to say goodbye to my beloved daughter, Juliet.
If Juliet was here with us today, she would be more than overwhelmed with the audience attending her
funeral. Standing here before you today is one of the hardest things I ve ever had to do. Words cannot
describe the sorrow and loss I am feeling. Juliet was my wife and I s dearest, only child. She meant the
world to us. A very obedient child, yet extremely strong in her dedication to love, rarely disobeying
our wishes, only once... For her darling husband Romeo. Juliet was born in the city of Verona, 13
years ago, and therefore will be the place she lays forever. Bringing two families together, Juliet was

Through the use of emotive language, rhetorical questions, similes and inclusive language, I was able
to portray Lord Capulet s emotion and expression towards his daughter s death. By following the
required eulogy structure, I started my persuasive writing with a simple, yet formal introduction which
gave the audience an impression of Juliet s unique personality, I then ordered the three body
paragraphs in chronological order and ended with a strong, yet personal conclusion. By including
emotive language (e.g. sorrow, loss, saddens) I was able to represent a range of emotions felt by Juliet
s loved ones. I also included the persuasive techniques of attack, praise and inclusive language. This
was in order to understand that a number of people were feeling this great loss. The rhetorical question
(but why did God grant you but half a life?) allows the audience to wonder and see things from Lord
Capulet s point of view. Overall, the above choices I made allowed my eulogy to become more
emotive and captured the attention of the audience, to allow them to mourn together over the loss of
Lord Capulet s daughter,

Jesse sat cross legged on the floor in Nana s library with a perplexed frown as she studied the book on

The Marketing Strategy Of Marco Gianni Shoes Essay
In Marco Gianni Shoes case, basically, the owners did not have any marketing strategy. Because in
order to create a marketing strategy, there are four necessary aspects that must be considered.
First of all, the operators must be aware of their target market and what kind of product they intend to
provide to their target customers. And the next step is to make a decision about what kind of
relationship do the operators intend to form with their customers or suppliers. Thirdly, in order to
create this strategy, what level of investment is required and how will the operators allocate and locate
the required resources. Finally the operators must have detailed objectives and action plans (David,
2015a).
It is clear that the operators of Marco Gianni Shoes did not consider all of these four aspects.
Marco Gianni Shoes opened in a fashion center of Auckland, it is a fantastic location, plenty of
customers passing by their store every day. But the owners Leo and Josth really messed up with their
market positioning. They never considered what customer segmentation they are going to focus. And
they did not think about what are the appropriate products for this customer segmentation. So the shop
was made by an Italian designed images, low price shoes that are coming from Chinese manufacture
and a very horrible indoor decoration which does not fit the high street environment.
For the second aspect, Leo and Josth had no intention to build any relationship with both their

Valley Passage Case Study Answers
1. The goal is to get to the claims office before it closes in fourteen days. I would choose option #3.
The valley passage is a safer option than going over the mountain. For example, there is a greater
possibility of injury traveling over the mountain. The mountain route is even more difficult because I

one disadvantage of the valley passage is time. I need to be back at the claims office in two weeks.
The valley passage takes at least two weeks of travel time. Therefore the likely hood of getting there

more. If Pat goes by himself, it will only take another 8 to 9 days. Therefore, he would be back in time
for the claims office. However, Pat has a drinking issue, and is not bright. I would rather have a 50 50
split with Pat, than not get any money at all. Even if I do not arrive in time, there is still the possibility
I could end up with the money. Although, I would most likely get out bid at auction. First, I would
work with Pat to come up with a plan. Then I would have to communicate with him and teach him
how to correctly file a claim. I would advise him to not drink until after he has made the claim and
communicate the importance of getting the claims office before the 14 days are up. I would reward Pat
by offering a 50 50 split. I believe that offering a 50 50 split may steer him away from drinking. After
he feels confident that he can file a claim correctly, I would send him on his way. I would give my
ankle a few days rest to heal up, and then I would finish the rest of the

Understanding Clintons Health Plan
Unit 9 Assignment: Understanding Clintons Health Plan Tierra J. Neal Kaplan University Professor
Eboni Green Health Policy May 3, 2016 Unit 9 Assignment: Understanding Clintons Health Plan In
this paper I will provide my understanding on why I feel Clinton s Health Plan was unsuccessful. I
will discuss the features of Clinton s health care reform plan and provide my reasons I feel it failed. I
will also discuss the influences of the various interests groups and governmental entities that were
present during this process. Lastly I will discuss the policy process and policy environment key
players that were involved and the other circumstances that shaped this policy making effort. When
President Clinton was elected in 1992 he was given the task to design a health care reform proposal
that provided health care benefits for all Americans. When Clinton was elected the country was
suffering from setbacks in the realm of healthcare polices from the previous president. With congress
being one of the key players they started to develop plans that would provide universal health
coverage ideas with: physicians, large businesses, lawmakers, and many interest groups. When all this
started to occur Clinton felt that the majority of the public who were in favor of healthcare reform, he
made healthcare a primary weapon in his election campaigns. With him winning the presidential
election the issue of healthcare reform came to forefront. It was made

Charles Mingus Essay

Jazz 219
Charles Mingus Charles Mingus is a very important and influential name in jazz; however he is left
out by many historians when talking about the history of jazz. The main reason he is left out by so
many historians, Mark Gridley in particular, is because of his attitude and ego. He is clearly not the
most pleasant person, and he surely does not display how a real jazz musician should act, at least
according to most historians. The way he acts during performances can be quite startling at first, if you
are not familiar with his ways and methods of playing. For example, he was known for using profanity
during performances, either geared at the audience if they were being too loud or the sound operators

Another chapter I would also include him in would be Chapter 5, How Swing Differs from Early Jazz
. I would include Mingus in this chapter as well because it talks so much of his most influential Jazz
artist, and at one point fellow band mate, Duke Ellington. I feel like Mingus truly does have enough
variance in his music to help point out and draw the fine line between early jazz and the newer swing
jazz. The main differences between these two categories of jazz are that in early jazz, you were a lot
less likely to have the big band feel to the music, and soloist played a more important role in early
jazz, whereas in the swing era, you were introduced to more of a variety of instruments as well as new
techniques on how to play them. Mingus puts out good examples and songs/performances that clearly
display how things transitioned from early Jazz to swing, and then onto other evolutions of jazz as
well. After learning and hearing many of Charles Mingus s music, I definitely feel it is unfair for any
historian to leave him out of an in depth jazz history book. I hope jazz book writers to come take note
of Mingus s accomplishments, and start to include him in the history books right up there with Duke
Ellington, Miles Davis, and Louis Armstrong. It is only fair to him and his fellow band mates,
however, only time will

If a bullet should enter my brain, let that bullet destroy every closet door, are the famous words of
Harvey Milk. Harvey Milk, a gay rights activist, changed the world for the LGBT community. Milk
was one of the first openly gay officials when he was elected to the San Francisco Board of
Supervisors in 1977. He was assassinated the next year in San Francisco City Hall by Dan White who
opposed the increasing acceptance of homosexuals (Biography). The assassination of Harvey Milk
was unjust because he was a human rights leader and dedicated to achieving equality for the LGBT
community: however, others may not believe he was a person to idolize. Harvey Milk should not have
been killed because he was human and gay rights leader. Harvey repeatedly pleaded for equality for
everyone, especially in San Francisco. Gay rights protect everyone, said Milk in an interview (1977).

I m not the only kid who grew up this way, surrounded by people who used to say that rhyme about

Cultural Artifact Of Watch History
Most people have a different perception of what would be considered a popular cultural artifact just
because everyone enjoys and thinks of things in a different way. What might be popular or used every
day for me could be something someone has never even see before. Along with that, most of those
artifacts are just fads that last a year or two and then they are forgotten. Pet rock, parachute pants, and
ankle warmers just to name a few. Although some artifacts stick around for the long run.
The history of Watches shows simply how the evolution of watches has taken place:

manipulation or people and situations to your advantage. As for the rules, these are only discovered by
playing the game to the end. Cause and Effect In the past century, government has expanded and
become more involved in many new fields and aspects of life. One reason for this change is that
government has more to because the population has increased by 600 percent over the past 100 years.
More rules and regulations are needed to keep larger numbers of people living and working together

Taking a Look at Water Chlorination
4.0 Water Chlorination
4.1 What is water chlorination?
Water chlorination is another process that is commonly used in the water treatment industry.
Chlorination can be defined as the addition of chlorine or hypochlorite to a water supply for
disinfection purposes. Pathogens present in drinking water can cause serious diseases upon
consumption and therefore need to be treated (Safe Drinking Water Foundation, 2009). Chlorination is
one of the various methods that is used to deactivate these pathogens and can be found in operation at
many municipal works across the country, including Killylane water treatment works. It is often found
as one of the final stages in a multiple stage treatment process, usually following a filtration process.
Pathogens come in a variety of forms, such as viruses, bacteria or protozoa, and can have devastating,
even fatal consequences if not treated in a water supply. Before the mainstream introduction of
disinfection into the water treatment process, waterborne pathogens regularly caused epidemics, and
diseases like typhoid, cholera and dysentery were rife (Scientific American, 1998). As has been
mentioned in the previous chapter, the rapid gravity filtration process is relatively ineffective at
removing these pathogens from the water and therefore disinfection is required as a follow up
treatment. Adding chlorine to water can inhibit a large range of microbial waterborne pathogens, either
killing them or decreasing their activity to a

Kudler Fine Food s Financial Position
Kudler CEO Financial Memo
The liquidity, profitability, and solvency ratios reveal some interesting points about Kudler Fine Food
s financial position. The liquidity ratios revealed that during 2002 and 2003, Kudler was having no
trouble paying short term debt. However, the current and acid test (quick) ratios showed that during
2003 Kudler had an excess amount of cash that they were not investing properly. These ratios also
showed that Kudler was collecting receivables and selling average inventory very quickly. The
profitability ratios revealed that during 2002 and 2003, Kudler was using assets efficiently and making
a decent profit. The profit margin ratio showed that during 2002 Kudler made a profit of four cents per
dollar, and during 2003 they made a profit of roughly six cents per dollar. In addition, the return on
assets ratio (which is also a profitability ratio) showed that Kudler utilized their assets efficiently
enough to turn a profit. The solvency ratio used, which was the debt to total assets ratio, showed that
during 2002 and 2003 Kudler only had around a quarter of their assets financed in debt. All of these
ratios show that Kudler was a fairly strong company financially during 2002 and 2003. When trying to
figure out how successful Kudler Fine Foods is, it is critical to review all financial statements. By
using the horizontal and vertical analysis and the determining ratio calculations the profitability,
liquidity, and solvency are figured. A specific

Correctional Boot Camps
Correctional Boot Camps Shock Incarceration
Abstract
While most criminal end up in general population, there are many other ways to do time. Boot camp is
an option for petty offenders. Successfully completing the program, criminal offenders can bypass
prison all together. Though it may be a safer choice, it is not as easy as it sounds.
This paper evaluates the history of correctional boot camps, the eligibility of whom is accepted into
the program, the graduation statics, and crime recidivism after completion of the program.

The Field Of School Psychology
The field of School Psychology started with the emergence of special education services in the early
nineteen hundreds. Professionals were needed to assist with the selection and placement of children
within such services. This led to the development of the profession of School Psychologists. However,
it did not stop there it continued with Alfred Binet and Theodore Simon creating the first practical
intelligence test battery, which assessed higher level cognitive skills and produced substantial
correlations with measures of school achievement. (NYASP 2012) The development of group
standardized tests was mainly influenced by World War 1. This development of individual ability and
achievement tests assisted in defining the primary roles and functions of the first school psychologists.
These tests were used in differentiating students with different abilities and achievement levels. They
became the main instruments used by psychologists in school or educational settings. It wasn t until
1945 that the American Psychological Association (APA) classified School Psychology as a specialty.
The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) was then formed in 1969 allowing the
profession a more secure establishment. It was during the 1980 s when the roles and functions of
school psychologists changed from assessment and placement intensive to preferential assessment,
interventions, and at least secondary prevention for at risk groups. (NYASP 2012) Relatively, these

Navajo Nation s General Transportation Plan
An Evaluation of the Navajo Nation s General Transportation Plan
If everything in life is very simple and predictable, then we do not need any planning, (Kim).
However, this is not the case today because most developing cities and communities need planning in
order to guide their goals and visions for future land use. A document called a general plan (also
known as a comprehensive plan), helps guide developing cities and communities with a detailed
framework for its land use. The Navajo Nation, one of the largest Indian reservations in the United
States, is an example of a community that utilizes a general plan. In December 2009, the Navajo
Nation submitted the Navajo Nation Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) to the Transportation

NTS operates on seven fixed routes connecting small urban areas and also connects with other transit
systems like Greyhound Busline. The use of NTS has increased from 66,000 to 80,000 riders over a
two year period (LRTP II F2). Due to poor road conditions the safety for NTS has become an issue.
The general plans provided background information on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation Road
(IRR) system and this helps to understand how the nation s road network operates. Since the nation
overlaps different boundaries the IRR system administers the various highway programs, these include
tribal, state, county, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), and other agency roads. Almost half of the nation
s highways are BIA roads and majority is unpaved. The interesting part of this section is how these
roads are different agency roads but the nation manages to overlook all these roads through the IRR
system.
In conclusion, the transportation system on the Navajo Nation needs vast improvements to benefit its
people. For a general plan, the transportation plan is one of the most important elements for cities and
communities. When planning, it is very important to learn and know the area, city or community. A
city or community will be forever changing and developing. For this reason, a city or community will
need a plan to develop, maintain, and improve its use of

In today s society people are judged primarily on their looks and the amount of money that they have.

Properly conducted classroom observation is a powerful tool in the continuing professional
development of teachers. The revised performance management arrangement for teachers, which came

Classroom Research and Second Language Development: The success of a course of language studies
in a classroomis judged in terms of the product, that is, the learners terminal proficiency. To do this a
number of tests and examinations are available which measure that proficiency. However, the
examinations themselves can never inform us of the role that classroom work played in the scores
obtained. In the classroom interaction occurs interactionn between teachers, learners and materials.
This is the essential element of the classroom. An important step in the classroom is the image that the
observer presents. Sometimes, no doubt, observers are perceived, as Rosen vividly puts it, as sinister
figures in the wings, faintly contemptuous, armed with the paraphernalia of expertise and tapping
ominously their research findings. Such an image would be totally incompatible with ethnographic
research which crucially depends on a relationship of trust. If the classroom ethnographer is regarded
as an evaluator or inspector, the entire enterprise becomes impossible. This is of central importance to
Classroom Research. Neutrality in Classroom Research means studying the interaction as it occurs in
the context, from the perspective of those that are being studied. This can be done through participant
observation or non participant

She observed in young children the situation she called absorbent mind. Children learn from their everyday surroundings. The most important period of life is not the age of university studies but the period of birth to age six . She studied that between conception to age four 50% of mature intelligence is developed and from ages four to eight 30% is developed. in Montessori schools the teacher in the classroom allows every child to pick activities which interest them [Montessori country school, 2017]. ... As social media is rising, adults and teenagers are joining social outlets such as Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram. Even though social media is a big impact in today s society it could do more harm than good. Social media can cause harm because of isolation, bullying, and it could be dangerous. One reason for my belief is that social media can cause isolation. Because of social media individuals are connected by texting, calling on the phone, or video chatting but this replaces real interactions and can make an individual feel left out. A study of 1,787 participants expressed their feelings as I feel that people are around me but not with me. Individuals also expresses, I feel that people barely know me (Willingham). Also, social media has caused a decline in social events. Miller McPherson, Lynn Smith Lovin and Mathew Brashear s who are all sociologist s comments They depicted the rise of internet and mobile phones as one of the major trends that pulls people away from traditional social settings, neighborhoods, voluntary associations, and public spaces that have been associated with large and diverse core networks (Hampton). Even though social media is a significant part of communication at a certain point it could make an individual isolate themselves and from their surroundings. Another reason for my belief is that social media can cause bullying. Bullying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Themes Of Catch 22 Catch 22 s Recurrent Themes as Real World Issues Heller provides a satirical depiction of military bureaucracy and authoritarianism through the many antics of a B 25 bombardier, Yossarian. When Catch 22 was first released, its reviews were polarizing. Some critics praised its raunchy humor and depiction of war, in all of its gruesome detail. Others loathed its seemingly nonsensical plot structure and repetitiveness. Heller, born in 1923, was part of the G.I. Generation and served during World War II in the Army Air Corps as a bombardier. He flew sixty missions, but one drastically affected Heller. In a flight to Avignon, after dropping his bombs, his pilot went into a large climb but nearly stalled the plane s engines. In order to stop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He would plead insanity, but he cannot due to the Catch 22 principle that requires him to file a report of insanity; however, this would prove he is actually sane because he fears for his own life. Yossarian witnesses the death or disappearance of most of his close friends before the end of the book, leaving him with nothing to lose. In a final act of defiance, Yossarian proclaims that he is not flying any more missions. The officers take him into custody and give him an offer: go home to the United States and spread the good word about the war effort, or be court martialed. He takes the first offer, but then goes AWOL in a B 25 on a route to Switzerland (Heller). The Catch 22 principle and Yossarian s defiant acts create a picture of the effects of authoritarianism, greed, as well as military bureaucracy as seen through the eyes of Heller during the 1950s and 1960s. The Catch 22 principle functions as a literary device repeatedly throughout the book as a representation of authority s theft of personal freedom. The principle is repeatedly used as a justification for obscene acts and statements in the book. For example, at one point Military Police officers raid a brothel frequented by the soldiers and officers. They ransack the building and destroy everything that is breakable. When Yossarian arrives to the brothel, an old woman is worried sick about all of the prostitutes and says Catch 22 says they have a right to do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Effect Of Ethanol On The Production Of Ethanol The production of Ethanol has been happening for many of years. The production of Ethanol is a form alcoholic beverages, which humans have been drinking for many of hundreds of years. Ethanol is produced when alcoholic fermentation occurs. Alcoholic or Ethanol fermentation is a biological process that produces ethanol without needing oxygen. What is needed for this process to work is glucose and yeast. The production of alcohol or ethanol is the chemical reaction that happens when yeast breaks downs glucose (sugar). Glucose + Yeast → Alcohol + Carbon Dioxide. The different types of alcoholic beverages come from the different glucose used, like the glucose from different fruits. Whenever producing Ethanol or Alcohol you need to make sure that it is being brewed into a vessel which allows the carbon dioxide to escape and prevents oxygens from coming in. The Volmith Boutique Brewery has recently opened up their business and the demand of their products has put stress on their staff. They have hired an group to conduct out a series of experiments to observe the significant changes that might hinder or improve the production rate of the alcohol being produced. The first variable we change was the temperature the group keep the flasks at. It was hypothesised by the individual that the flasks that were at the temperature of 37 degrees and 25 degrees were to produce the most ethanol. This is because the optimal temperature for yeast is in between 35 45 degrees. The flask that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Essay On Mental Illness In Macbeth Ladies and Gentlemen, in the trial of The People of Scotland vs. Macbeth, the prosecution will claim a tale of a power hungry man who let ambition get the best of him. They will present physical evidence of him with the dagger, him conspiring with his wife, and him hiring men to kill. However, the evidence presented today by the defense will tell the true story: a man overtaken by mental illness. Macbeth displays the classic signs of narcissistic personality disorder: elevated sense of entitlement and delusions about power. While Macbeth did commit the murders, he was insane, and therefor did not commit the murders with criminal intent. The extent of his mental disorder has manifested in hallucinations and the gradual unraveling of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Macbeth may talk of big plans to assassinate Duncan, but at the root he is still a good person. His description predicts the eventual effect of his actions: total and complete loss of rational self, and slippage into full blown psychosis. Following this point, Macbeth should not be held accountable for his crimes, as he goes completely insane. A characteristic of narcissistic personality disorder is heavy hallucinations, caused by a fantasy the person has imagined for themselves. Even before he murders Duncan, Macbeth s delusion of him becoming king manifests through hallucinations involving murder imagery. As he walks towards Duncan s room, a floating dagger, only visible by him, leads him there. The mirage he has placed himself in, where he is king of Scotland, has caused his subconscious to produce delusions, Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. I have thee not and yet I see thee still (2.1.44 45). Macbeth acknowledges that the dagger is not real, and yet he still attempts to clutch it, fully invested in his fantasy. He describes later as A dagger of the mind , as if the very delusions he is undergoing are ripping his mind apart (2.1.50). • 12. William Shakespeare Authorship Essay Shakespeare was a famous poet and playwright who wrote over thirty plays that are still wildly popular today. Although it is widely accepted that William Shakespeare wrote his own material, there are many people who believe that he was not the true author of the works attributed to him. Arguments against Shakespeare s authorship range from people believing that it was all a political cover up, and that there isn t enough factual evidence to come to the conclusion that Shakespeare truly did write his own work, to the conclusion that there are faults in the Oxfordian Theory of Shakespeare Authorship. Ultimately, the most valid evidence supports that Shakespeare is in fact the author of the most famous plays and sonnets of all time. Although there is not an exact day for William Shakespeare s birth, his birthday can roughly be placed around April in 1564.He grew up in Stratford upon Avon, located near London, and he was the oldest of his siblings. Shakespeare had a Latin education as a kid, because as the son of a leading Stratford citizen, he almost certainly attended Stratford s grammar school. Like all such schools, its curriculum consisted of an intense emphasis on the Latin classics (Folger Shakespeare Library, 2017). Following his Latin School background, it is not known how he got his start in theatre, but in 1592 the first mention of Shakespeare was released, and he was known as an established London actor and playwright, mocked by a contemporary as a Shake scene ... • 16. Athanasius On The Incarnation Athanasius On the Incarnation In the year 325 A.D., the Council of Nicaea met and addressed the question of who Christ is. The council revolved around a belief known as Arianism, which was started by a priest named Arius. Arius denied that Jesus is divine. He claimed that Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are nothing more than God s creatures. The Council of Nicaea, however, rejected Arianism and affirmed that Jesus was not created like all other things were. They said that Jesus and God share the same divine substance, which means that Jesus is one with God the Father. Essentially, Jesus is God. Saint Athanasius, who was a bishop of Alexandria at the time of the Nicene council, shared a similar theology to that set out in the council. Athanasius ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He made it his mission to conquer death and bring back all those who had been led astray. Athanasius refers to a verse from the gospel of Luke to show that scripture tells the story of God s plan. I came to seek and to save which was lost. (Luke 19:10) An interesting thing that Athanasius does in his writings is that he explains things by raising questions that one might ask and providing his answers for them. He answers the questions through logic of the faith. When discussing what God did to save the world, he raises the question: Since, then, human beings had become so irrational and demonic deceit was thus overshadowing every place and hiding the knowledge of the true God, what was God to do? (62). God knew what he had to do to undo all the corruption that existed among humans and that was to become human himself. Athanasius tells us that God sojourned as a human being, taking to himself a body like theirs, (64). Jesus is the Word that God sent and the Word was God becoming man, which means that the Word of God is God himself. God worked through his son Jesus to make himself present to the people. Athanasius again turns to scripture to show that Jesus works were all part of God s plan to save humanity. Because in order to create a marketing strategy, there are four necessary aspects that must be considered. First of all, the operators must be aware of their target market and what kind of product they intend to provide to their target customers. And the next step is to make a decision about what kind of relationship do the operators intend to form with their customers or suppliers. Thirdly, in order to create this strategy, what level of investment is required and how will the operators allocate and locate the required resources. The main reason he is left out by so many historians, Mark Gridley in particular, is because of his attitude and ego. He is clearly not the most pleasant person, and he surely does not display how a real jazz musician should act, at least according to most historians. I would include Mingus in this chapter as well because it talks so much of his most influential Jazz artist, and at one point fellow band mate, Duke Ellington. I feel like Mingus truly does have enough variance in his music to help point out and draw the fine line between early jazz and the newer swing jazz. The main differences between these two categories of jazz are that in early jazz, you were a lot less likely to have the big band feel to the music, and soloist played a more important role in early jazz, whereas in the swing era, you were introduced to more of a variety of instruments as well as new techniques on how to play them. Mingus puts out good examples and songs/performances that clearly display how things transitioned from early Jazz to swing, and then onto other evolutions of jazz as well. After learning and hearing many of Charles Mingus s music, I definitely feel it is unfair for any historian to leave him out of an in depth jazz history book. I hope jazz book writers to come take note of Mingus s accomplishments, and start to include him in the history books right up there with Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, and Louis Armstrong. Cultural Artifact Of Watch History Most people have a different perception of what would be considered a popular cultural artifact just because everyone enjoys and thinks of things in a different way. What might be popular or used every day for me could be something someone has never even see before. Along with that, most of those artifacts are just fads that last a year or two and then they are forgotten. Pet rock, parachute pants, and ankle warmers just to name a few. Although some artifacts stick around for the long run. As for the rules, these are only discovered by playing the game to the end. One reason for this change is that government has more to because the population has increased by 600 percent over the past 100 years. • 29. Taking a Look at Water Chlorination 4.0 Water Chlorination 4.1 What is water chlorination? Water chlorination is another process that is commonly used in the water treatment industry. Chlorination can be defined as the addition of chlorine or hypochlorite to a water supply for disinfection purposes. Pathogens present in drinking water can cause serious diseases upon consumption and therefore need to be treated (Safe Drinking Water Foundation, 2009). Chlorination is one of the various methods that is used to deactivate these pathogens and can be found in operation at many municipal works across the country, including Killylane water treatment works. It is often found as one of the final stages in a multiple stage treatment process, usually following a filtration process. Pathogens come in a variety of forms, such as viruses, bacteria or protozoa, and can have devastating, even fatal consequences if not treated in a water supply. Before the mainstream introduction of disinfection into the water treatment process, waterborne pathogens regularly caused epidemics, and diseases like typhoid, cholera and dysentery were rife (Scientific American, 1998). As has been mentioned in the previous chapter, the rapid gravity filtration process is relatively ineffective at removing these pathogens from the water and therefore disinfection is required as a follow up treatment. Adding chlorine to water can inhibit a large range of microbial waterborne pathogens, either killing them or decreasing their activity to a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The liquidity ratios revealed that during 2002 and 2003, Kudler was having no trouble paying short term debt. However, the current and acid test (quick) ratios showed that during 2003 Kudler had an excess amount of cash that they were not investing properly. These ratios also showed that Kudler was collecting receivables and selling average inventory very quickly. The profitability ratios revealed that during 2002 and 2003, Kudler was using assets efficiently and making a decent profit. The profit margin ratio showed that during 2002 Kudler made a profit of four cents per dollar, and during 2003 they made a profit of roughly six cents per dollar. In addition, the return on assets ratio (which is also a profitability ratio) showed that Kudler utilized their assets efficiently enough to turn a profit. The solvency ratio used, which was the debt to total assets ratio, showed that during 2002 and 2003 Kudler only had around a quarter of their assets financed in debt. All of these ratios show that Kudler was a fairly strong company financially during 2002 and 2003. When trying to figure out how successful Kudler Fine Foods is, it is critical to review all financial statements. • 32. The Field Of School Psychology The field of School Psychology started with the emergence of special education services in the early nineteen hundreds. Professionals were needed to assist with the selection and placement of children within such services. This led to the development of the profession of School Psychologists. However, it did not stop there it continued with Alfred Binet and Theodore Simon creating the first practical intelligence test battery, which assessed higher level cognitive skills and produced substantial correlations with measures of school achievement. (NYASP 2012) The development of group standardized tests was mainly influenced by World War 1. This development of individual ability and achievement tests assisted in defining the primary roles and functions of the first school psychologists. These tests were used in differentiating students with different abilities and achievement levels. They became the main instruments used by psychologists in school or educational settings. It wasn t until 1945 that the American Psychological Association (APA) classified School Psychology as a specialty. The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) was then formed in 1969 allowing the profession a more secure establishment. A document called a general plan (also known as a comprehensive plan), helps guide developing cities and communities with a detailed framework for its land use. The general plans provided background information on the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation Road (IRR) system and this helps to understand how the nation s road network operates. Since the nation overlaps different boundaries the IRR system administers the various highway programs, these include tribal, state, county, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), and other agency roads. Almost half of the nation s highways are BIA roads and majority is unpaved. The interesting part of this section is how these roads are different agency roads but the nation manages to overlook all these roads through the IRR system. In conclusion, the transportation system on the Navajo Nation needs vast improvements to benefit its people. For a general plan, the transportation plan is one of the most important elements for cities and communities. When planning, it is very important to learn and know the area, city or community.
