This document summarizes an evaluation of a student's production of a radio show advertisement and logo. The student received feedback on their work from peers. For the radio advertisement, peers said the song transitions were smooth but it did not clearly announce what was being advertised. For the logo poster, peers said the logo design fit the genre but could be improved by making the plectrum shape more prominent. The student agreed announcements could be clearer in the radio ad and may add some color outlines to the logo in the future.
3. Research
• The strengths of my research was that I found 4 existing
products which showed me when each radio show/podcast was
created, what slogans they used, what type of music they play
and what their logo wasMy research helped my product by the
way it influenced everything I talked about.
• The weaknesses of my research was that I didn’t really into
detail about what they would actually say on the radio advert,
next time I will research in depth into all of my existing
products so that I could actually figure out what to say.
4. Planning
• The strength of my planning would be that I produced a
lot of mind maps and mood boards this enabled me to
create my product to a better standard than I would if I
didn’t plan properly. Another strength of my planning
would be that I drew a couple of pictures for my radio
logo so that I could pick between which one I should use.
• A weakness would be that I didn’t prepare myself to talk
on the radio advert which intern prevented me from
speaking on the advert.
5. Time Management
• I managed to keep on schedule through out
the unit without falling behind. I still think
that my project would be improved with
more time so that I could analyze my research
and plan a bit more.
• Next time I will complete more work in the
time I'm given and let less things distracted
me when it comes to working.
6. Technical Qualities
I compared my radio advert to Chris Moyle’s radio
advert “radio X”.
My advert had nothing similar to the existing advert,
the RadioX advert had some speaking in it unlike in
my radio advert had no speaking in it but showed off
all the different types of song genres.
7. Aural and Aesthetic Qualities
I like the audio part of
my product although
there wasn't any
speaking there was 5
well chosen song which
were blended quite well
together to show off that
I can use cross fad
properly and which song
sounded good next to
each other.
I like the stippled effect of
the text and image
because it look quite
strange and alternative
which will interest my
target audience because
they are from the age of
16 to 20, and my target
audience is interested in
upcoming music and are
more understanding of
alternative music.
I used the name
Plectrum for my
radio show because
it not only sounds
quite alternative but
it also relates to the
type of music I will
be playing because
a plectrum in what
you use to strum a
guitar
Next time I use colours in my
logo so that it is more eye
catching and so that it is more
relatable to my radio show.
8. Audience Appeal
• My target audience
would be interested in
my radio advert because
it was entertaining and
makes the audience
want to hear more.
• The audience would
have been interested in
the music I played
considering that they are
aged 16-20.
My logo will appeal
to my target
audience because it
has an alternative
feel, also the word
plectrum suggest
that it’s a rock or
metal radio show
and my target
audience seems to
prefer Rock and
Metal music to Pop
or Country music.
Plectrum also
symbolizes music
which the radio
show focuses on.
The font looks
strange which will
interest the target
audience because
their attracted to
alternative music.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
• The transitions between the songs were smooth and flowed well
• The logo is very effective in communicating the genre of the radio
show and is put together very professionally
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• Some verbal description to the advert or dialogue saying ‘plectrum
radio’ would have sold the show better
• Some colour in the advert possibly to attract the audience
11. Feedback 2• What did you like about the product?
• Because I am interested in the music you are using to advertise
you radio show it grabbed my attention.
• I like the rustic effect of the logo as it fits in with the
alternative/rock genre.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• In terms of the radio advert make it more clear as to what its
advertising and what genre of music is in the radio show.
• An improvement for the poster logo is that you should make
the plectrum more prominent and make the omi demon more
rugged looking so it fits in with the text and the rest of the logo
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
• The transition between each song was smooth.
• The Omi Demon was well designed I liked that you drew the
picture used in the logo.
• What improvements could have been made to the product?
• Identify the radio show you're advertising
• Make the shape of the Plectrum more visible just like Omi
Demon.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
• I agree with comments regarding my radio advert needing
to clearly announce what I was advertising because how
does the audience know what their listening to.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
• I don’t agree with the comments saying that I need to add
colour to the poster logo because I believe that the poster
grabs the audiences attention only being black and white.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
As poster producer next time I will make the
plectrum more prominent so that the audience
can see the reliability between the picture and
the text. Also I would use a little bit of
colour in the outlines of the drawings.
As a radio producer next time I will make
sure that I don’t just concentrate on the music
ill be playing but focus on talking and
informing the target audience who they're
listening too.
