2. The function of the Dressing
• Control bleeding
• Prevent infection 感染
• Absorb discharge
• Avoid further injury

3. The functions of Bandage
• To maintain direct pressure over a dressing to control
bleeding
• To retain dressings and splints in position
• To prevent or reduce swelling
• To provide support for limb or joint
• To restrict movement
• To assist in lifting and carrying casualty (easy to transport)

5. Bandage
• Whole
• Broad
• Narrow

6. Signs and symptoms indicate
that a bandage is too tight
• Blue tinge of the finger or toe nails
• Pallor of extremities 苍白
• Tingling or loss of sensation (no feeling)
• Coldness of the extremities
• Inability to move the fingers or toes

7. Simple Bandage
• Arm sling
• Elevation sling (St. John sling)
• Hand bandage ---- Palm, fist
• Head bandage
• Foot bandage
