 Dry heat

Burn: caused by extremes temperatures
(heat/ cold), chemical or radiation

Scalds: Burns caused by “wet”
heat such as steam or hot liquid
Causes of scalds
moist heat

Superficial burns（1st 级烫伤）:
-redness, swelling

7. Intermediate
burns
Intermediate burns （2nd 级烫伤） :
-blisters, and redness

Deep burns （3rd 级烫伤） :
-pale, waxy skin
-pain free

10. Management Apply cold running water on the
injuries for about 10 mins
Remove anything of constrictive
nature (ring) before swell
Do not remove burnt clothing
Cover injury part with dressing
or freshly laundered linen
Adhesive dressing can’t be use
No lotion, no tooth paste

11. Action to be
taken when

 Lay casualty down
 Water
 If no water, use rug. Protect yourself
and wrap it around casualty
