2. Question 1
This question shows that there is a fairly equal split
between male and female with slightly more men
which will mean that although there will not be a
gender bias in my magazine there may be more
male leads and masculine features put in to appeal
to the men mainly but also to the women.
3. Question 2
This question shows that indie/alternative takes
the biggest percentage of the vote, followed
narrowly by pop which suggests that in the
majority it is these two genres that I should be
focusing on in order to please my audience and
appeal to the largest amount of people
possible.
4. Question 3
This questions shows comprehensively that nearly
all of my audience are aged between 16 and 24
years old and that therefore young adults should
definitely be my target audience.
5. Question 4

country a large amount of my audience are
located with roughly 90% of them living in
or nearest to York.
6. Question 5
This question shows the features of a music
magazine that would attract or entice my
audience and a large amount of people would
generally be most interested in the inclusion of
exclusive interviews and music recommendations
which both had over 60% of the vote, closely
followed also by festival line-ups and
information.
7. Question 6
This question shows that although the interest
is there, in the majority of cases people do not
subscribe to a monthly or weekly music
magazine however this may just be because
they prefer to buy individual issues less often
than once a month.
8. Question 7
This question shows that most people who
took part in the survey would be prepared to
pay at least £2.50 for their magazine per issue
with some thinking that they may prefer to
pay less with nobody willing to pay more than
£5 per issue.
9. Question 8
This question shows that there isn’t a defined
split in opinion as to whether people would
prefer their magazine to be weekly or monthly
but slightly more people (just over half) would
like it to be monthly.
10. Question 9
This question shows the festivals that my audience
have either been to or would show an interest in
going to and it’s clear that Leeds Festival is the most
popular, most probably because it is within a short
distance from where most of my audience live
(Leeds-York area), however it is closely followed by
Glastonbury and there is no festival in particular that
people have shown no interest in what so ever so
the opinions on festivals of choice is clearly diverse.
11. Question 10
The final question shows people’s comments on
whether they prefer to listen to or play music
themselves with roughly 95% of the audience
preferring to listen to music rather than play due to a
variety of reasons such as they either cannot play an
instrument, or they prefer to listen because they like
to do it as they work and also maybe because of the
availability of the music and the ease at which it can
be accessed.
