1. A- Make sure all the kids speak English, they are a first grade special ed class, 10 boys and 7 girls,
70% white, 20% African American and 10% Hispanic, 7 students have ADHD.
S- My students will enumerate the months of the year by making a calendar at the end of the week
with 90% accuracy.
S- First the children will learn all the months and their names by saying them correctly, does not
have to be in a correct order yet. Then they will get their supplies together for arts and crafts to
create a calendar for all the months of the year.
U- Make sure that all the supplies are out and ready.
Preview the materials: arts and crafts.
Prepare the materials: make sure the supplies are laid out.
Prepare the environment: lay all the materials out in organization.
Prepare the learners: a good introduction and motivation, have the kids get their excitement and
hyperness out and run around for a minute, then they should be focused and calm for arts and
crafts.
Provide a learning experience: the children will be able to tell you the months of the year in the
correct order after a couple tries and they can have a calendar they can look back on that is
decorated with the holidays that are in each month.
R- Get feedback from the students on what you can do better and to help them understand it better.
E- I think this will be an effective lesson because it is fun and the kids are going to be very interacted
during so it will keep them interested. They will constantly have a hands on activity so it will keep
their ADHD calm and controlled.
