Being the capital city of India, it does not come as a shock that New Delhi is the most populated city in India in term of people and vehicles. The population of Delhi and vehicles on road are ever increasing leading to problems like traffic, pollution and high fuel consumption.
Considering all this ―THE DELHI METRO comes as a huge relief for the people of Delhi.
Indian railway network is one of the biggest transportation network in India and is the third largest railway network in the world. Mail/express trains are regular express rail service of India. Express trains make small number of stops, unlike passenger trains. The Duronto express trains introduced in 2009 (which run between major cities without any intermediate halts) are projected to be the fastest train in India introduced with a higher speed limit of 120-130 km/h. Bullet trains in India will become an engine of economic transformation in India

Abstract This paper emphasizes on the common problems endured by Delhi and Pune BRTS corridor. Urban Traffic commutation has an eloquent place in urban life. BRTS is a very old form of public transport, but it is still a new concept for developing countries like India, because of its psychological aspects. Bus Rapid Transit involves synchronized improvements in a transport system’s infrastructure, equipment, working, performance and technology that give preference to buses on urban roadways. This paper gives an overall outlook of Delhi and Pune BRT systems and observed some common problems in operating both the system, and some recommendations are mentioned so that could help improving Pune BRTS immensely and influentially and have a better result avoiding bottlenecksthose faced byDelhiBRTS.The main present study intent to highlight the problems and to overcome those problems. A proposal aimed at transforming a key site in Canoga Park into a vibrant, mixed-use development. The project includes comprehensive location analysis, neighborhood context evaluation, and zoning and planning assessments. By leveraging the site’s strengths and addressing potential challenges, we plan to create a space that integrates residential, commercial, and public areas. The development will enhance connectivity, support community objectives, and provide economic benefits, all while aligning with local zoning regulations.

Challenges for
Metro Rail
The adaptation of the Dhaka Metro Rail by the people of
Bangladesh has exceeded expectations, with commuting on
the metro becoming a habitual practice. Despite initial
challenges in construction, including unfortunate incidents
and the COVID-19 pandemic, the project is progressing
steadily towards full implementation. The government's
ambitious timeline for the metro's operation by 2030 is
materializing, with plans to create thousands of job
opportunities and ensure uninterrupted services through
advanced infrastructure and revenue generation strategies,
including ticket sales and commercial space rentals at
stations.

Future Plans of
Dhaka MRT
Managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit

With the maiden metro rail line coming into full operation tomorrow, Dhaka dwellers might
have to wait for four to five more years to get the second metro rail in operation.
Physical work on the second metro rail line, formally known as Mass Rapid Transit Line-
1, the first underground metro rail line in the country, started early this year. The project's
deadline is 2026, but it may take two more years beyond the deadline to complete due to
a delayed start.
The prime minister will formally inaugurate the construction work of the country's third
metro rail, MRT Line-5 (northern route), today, and the project's deadline is 2028.
After the completion of a feasibility study, other preparatory work for the fourth line, MRT
Line-5 (southern route), is currently underway. However, the project has not been
approved yet.
However, the authority could not even start the feasibility study of two other lines, MRT
Line-2 and MRT Line-4, and the preliminary alignment of both lines has been changed.
So, it would take a long time to start physical work, even if the lines are found feasible.
However, MAN Siddique, managing director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd, the
implementing and operating agency, said that they were hopeful about implementing
their plan within 2030.

Financial
Impacts
1.Cost Savings: The Dhaka Metro Rail project is estimated to save $2.4 billion annually,
equivalent to 1.5% of the national GDP
2.Increased Efficiency: Metro rails offer high efficiency, transporting more passengers
than buses or cars, reducing traffic congestion, and improving overall transportation
efficiency
3.Economic Growth: The Metro Rail Project is expected to contribute to economic growth
by enhancing connectivity, attracting investment, and stimulating commercial activities
along its routes
4.Rise in Property Values: The introduction of metro rail can lead to an increase in land
prices and house rents, indicating potential economic growth and development in
surrounding areas
Experts believe through the survey results, once MRT Line-6 is operational, it will save
Tk 8.38 crore in travel time and Tk 1.18 crore in vehicle operating cost per day, saving Tk
3489.40 crore annually. As a result, it will play a positive role in the country's economic
development and increase the GDP growth rate

Conclusion
The Dhaka Metro Rail promises a multitude of benefits for the city and its
residents. By alleviating traffic congestion, it aims to reduce reliance on private
cars and shorten travel times, offering faster transportation with trains capable of
speeds up to 100 km/h. Not only does it contribute to a cleaner environment by
curbing emissions, but it also holds the potential to stimulate economic growth
through job creation and overall economic activity. Moreover, by enhancing
accessibility and connectivity, the metro system fosters improved social equity,
making the city more inclusive and livable for all its inhabitants.
