A description of my target audience.

1. Target Audience Profile
The reader of Pop Life is a teenage girl between the ages of 11-16. She is still at school, and
enjoys the fact that she can see her friends every day. She is a smart student and is
dedicated to her work, and often is top of the class. She is very honest, and trustworthy. She
is also friendly, kind and good company, and because of this, she has a large circle of friends
who enjoy spending time with her. She is never rude, and so she is admired by her teachers
and friends alike.
Even though she is studying in school to make sure that she gets the best possible grades to
ensure that she is able to move on to university to train to become a top journalist, she
never lets the stress of school get her down. She always manages to keep a smile on her
face, and in turn, manages to cheer her friends up too.
As well as listening to music all the time, she also plays it. She regularly goes to piano and
violin class, and often passes her exams with distinctions. She loves to listen to pop music,
and her favourite artists are Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Katy Perry. She loves the
upbeat and fun sound, and the fact that they all have such beautiful voices. Her ultimate
dream is to be able to conduct an interview with Taylor Swift. She also enjoys listening to
Beyoncé, because she loves her powerful voice and her confidence.
In her spare time, she loves to watch films. She loves watching romantic comedies like A
Walk to Remember, and sci-fi films like The Hunger Games. She also loves meeting up with
friends on the weekend and going shopping with them, or going to the cinema. She also
enjoys spending quality time with her family. She likes to read, and one of her favourite
books is The Fault in Our Stars. She loves the film version of ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ too and
hopes to get the DVD for Christmas/her next birthday. Her favourite TV shows are
Eastenders and Hollyoaks, because she enjoys the daily dramas that the characters go
through. Another hobby of hers is using social networking sites such as Facebook and
Twitter. She sees them as a way to stay connected to her friends while she is not physically
with them. She also uses it as a way to keep informed on the most recent news from her
favourite celebrities. She also likes to keep up to date with the latest fashions, by watching
fashion shows like America’s next Top Model, and looking at the latest styles on the
internet.
The reader of Pop Life enjoys music and listens to it daily- on the journey to and from
school, while she is doing her homework and on the way to meet up with friends. She also
uses music as a way to calm down after a long and stressful day. It is also a form of
motivation for her, and allows her to stay entertained while doing more boring activities like
household chores. Music is a big part of her life, and she has recently started writing her
own songs, in the hope that a famous popstar will sing her lyrics. Being a songwriter is her
second favourite job after journalism, and she hopes that she will be able to continue song
writing when she is older, even if it is just a hobby.

2. The reader of this magazine is not currently reading any music magazines, because she
hasn’t found one that interests her. She used to read We Love Pop in the past, but has now
lost interest, and is looking for something new. She is looking for one that can fulfil her
needs. If the reader finds the perfect magazine, she will stay loyal to it, and will most likely
subscribe to get each issue without fail.
