Amy Watson completed a print project evaluation for her college. In her research, she found common factors across different fashion magazine products and referenced them appropriately. Her research helped inspire her own product with colors and effects. However, finding popular magazines online proved difficult. For planning, she documented all her brainstorming ideas but could have planned more contingencies. Her time management was good but she could have added more to her article. Technically, her magazine had pastel colors and a unique title but she could have included more star quotes. Strengths included following her design plans, but writing the article was challenging. She believes her magazine appeals to audiences through its colors and context as promised.
2. Research
• What were the strengths of your research?
I would say the strengths of my research were the fact that I used
essential techniques to gather viable information as well as observed
common factor that the products all had in common. Another strength
would be the fact that I referred my research to my chosen products in
a suitable bibliography, and that they help come up with the most
suitable layout and brainstorm.
• How did your research help your product?
The research helped my product in a way where it provided me with
information and ideas in order to m make a successful product of my
own. It helped me by inspiring me with the colours and effects of
existing products.
• What were the weaknesses of your research?
The weakness however was trying to find relevant and resourceful
magazines that people still seem to talk about, in other words, the most
popular brands. it was not easy to find a suitable brand because it was
hard to find the actual double page spread of the internet.
• What could you have done better/improve
I could improve by searching more than 3 products in oder to get a
better idea on what to incorporate into my product such as the similar
features that they all have in common.
• What effect would this have had on your product?
This research would have an effect where it would act as an inspiration
for my product and provide me with intel on how to make it a
successful outcome.
3. Planning• What were the strengths of your planning?
The strength of my planning would be that I managed to jot
down all my brainstorms so that I could reflect back on them
when it came to making the product. Call it a reflection to look
back on.
• How did your planning help your product?
The planning helped my product in a way it can help me look
back on my initial ideas and also, what I had planned to begin
with, it was mostly used as a reminder.
• What were the weaknesses of your planning?
The weakness of the planning however was trying to think of
the potential contingency planning, as well as the most
advanced health and safety concerns of myself and my friends
when it came to production.
• What could you have done better/improve?
I could have improved by adding more to the health and safety
plans, as well as the contingencies because I need to think
more about the potential outcomes from the process and also,
who would be effected.
• What effect would this have had on your product?
The effect that the planning would have on my product would
be that the layout plans and the mind maps would come as an
reminder and inspiration for the final result so that I can go
balk and look back on what I originally thought of.
4. Time Management
I believe that I
managed my time
well ask that the task
was completed in
time. I could have
improved with more
time by adding more
to the article about
tips, but otherwise,
the other parts were
fine.
5. Technical QualitiesSimilarites
They both have pastel colours which resembles urban
and natural feelings in order to retain peace and
happiness through the art of fashion.
Differences
Mine has a different title and side texts. Also, I made it
exclusive to my college library. It also says who made the
magazine and that the magazine enbtiels advice form my
friends and stars.
Similarites
They both have pastel colours which resembles urban
and natural feelings in order to retain peace and
happiness through the art of fashion.
Differences
This has more professional photography as well as more
urban colours that represent the theming well. Also, the
figure on the cover has matching colours in all clothing.
6. Aesthetic QualitiesI do think my work looks good, in a way out
of the ordinary, on other words, it has key
qualities like other fashion magazines.
I do think it was creative in a
way where the title dedicated to
an essential quality of fashion.
I like how the
colour visuals
come together
in a nice
overall colour
scheme to
make it bright
and cheery. I
also like on
how the title
really give the
atmosphere of
the magazine
a happy and
exciting vibe.
I would improve the article
by adding more points form
stars as promised as long
they are direct from quotes
online from the fashion stars
in order to help maintain a
good figure.
In how I would improve
the improvements I said,
I will research suitable
quotes and incorporate
them into the article in a
suitable fashion.
In terms of strengths
and weaknesses, I
would say tyre biggest
strength would be that
the design went
according Ito plan and
not a single idea
changes in ,my
opinion. As for the
weakness, I would
say that writhing the
article wasn’t the
easiest thing to
accomplish on my list
because I still wanted
too make it
interesting.
7. Audience AppealI believe that I have appealed my audience in a way
where the context is what I promised and the colours are
also what I promised in order to make the audience
cheer.
I would say the article and colours are what make the
audience feel appealed as well as the reason why is
because they are soo attracting and juicy to look over, do
not take a double turn.
