2. My magazine has conformed to the
conventions of music magazines as it has all
that is listed to be compulsory, such as a
masthead, model, sell lines and head line. I've
also added exclusive information in the front
cover just to give the readers a bit more
information on what they will find inside the
magazine.
I chose a price that is affordable for my target
audience so that they can buy it without
thinking twice.
3. The way I had laid out my front cover was through an inspired
professional music magazine front cover. I wanted to make sure
that every aspect of my front cover had stood out fr instance, my
sell lines and headline. I could have added some offers such as
buy this and win a free ticket etc, this probably would have got
the customers to buy it however I just did not feel that it was
necessary as I did not want customers to just buy the magazine
to win something. The layout design for each of my pages are
quite similar to professional existing music magazine. For example
all front covers have a model and sell lines and more, so does my
front cover. This already initiates that its is a music magazine so
this means it is clear to the audience of what the content inside
may be. On the other hand I do not think I had made my genre
visible as the colours I have chosen as my house style, does
subvert to the stereotypical colours an R'n'B magazine would
have.
4. The model's pose in my front cover is intentional to
create an intimacy between the customer and her.
This also reflects on the genre it self as R'n'B is greatly
associated with romance and love. I looked at
different music magazines such as rolling stone, vibe
and more and what I had realised is that when a girl is
posing for front cover, she is usually posing in a sexual
manner. I feel that this is a way to gain more
popularity as sex sells hence my model posing in a
funky sexy way. My other models poses are not the
same as the front cover as I wanted the images to
match the article as much as possible. I also chose
that specific layout for the DPS to be 50% image and
50% article as I know teenagers are visual learners. This
means that they like to see pictures and images to
learn from rather than reading texts.
