MH ACROSS CULTURES
Across different cultures and languages, people talk about and
explore mental health in multiple ways. In just a few words, please
share: How have you experienced the concept of "mental health" within
your own cultural communities?
● The stigma around it - "religion cures everything." Or it
simply does not exist.
● I feel like older generations sometimes say it is fake and
doesn't exist.
● no, it's not talked about. They are seen as being
possessed
● It is very hard to address it in the first place if you don't
have the financial means to afford therapy
● you are making yourself sick/sad/ suffer. it's a taboo
topic
● I agree!

What did you think?
How did you feel?
#Movies4MentalHealth
● having a supporting community is so important
● She showed courage in sharing her story.
● strength in finding outlets that worked as an individual,
expression through art in this situation was opening to
finding supports
● I agreed with the fact that depression is not linear. It
goes back to the stigma behind mental health and
people believe it is a one way road to "recovery"
● I resonate with the label of their mental health struggles
helping them through it
● I felt very empowered at the end...the idea of
empowering and creating a platform for voices that are
not always heard.
● I agree, they were very empowering
