3. Pre-Production: Visual Planning
• For my visuals I will be using a lot of distortion effects. This goes well
with the track as it is slow so I can use this to make the visuals go
with the beat and the pace of the video. Also I will be adding a black
screen so it is in sync with the beat. So every time you hear a beat, a
black screen will flicker on and off so it looks like it is effecting the
video. The song is dark so I will be also putting a VHS green screen
over the original video so it gives it a old look and with the visuals it
should look like the video is breaking up. This is the effect I want to
have so it can act as if the video is old.
4. Pre-visualisation/Concept Boards
• The inspiration for the music videos visuals are the Lo-Fi music videos
I have watched. This suits the song the most because it is a dark song,
so having a old and retro look will make the music video look the
best. The way I am going to plan my ideas is by making a small Lo-Fi
video so I can see what my ideas will look like and how they are going
to effect my final video. The colour and lighting will vary throughout
the music video. So for the lighting it will be dim and moody so it
helps the green screen to look old. But the colour of the visuals will
be bright and trippy so it contrasts with the moody lighting of the
green screen.
5. Shot list
• My music video will contain mainly medium or close angles for the
duration of my video. This is because I will be shooting in the dark or
where the lighting is very dim or grainy. So having a long shot will not
work as it will be to blurry or grainy to see what is happening. Also
having close shots and medium shots will give more of a story behind
the music video as it will show key points throughout the music
video.
• I am going to make the track and music video link this is so that the
video looks like it has been effected by the track and makes it more
interesting to watch as it will be linked and it can flow well.
6. The start of the music video
will be slow and so will be
the ending. This is because it
is when the track is the
slowest and can be made
into the most depressed
edited part of the music
video.
It then goes into the rap which
progressively gets quicker. This
is when more of the references
come into play and less edits so
people can see what the song
is about and this is where I can
create links with the track and
video.
Most of this video
will be recorded in
rural or abandoned
places so that it gives
a isolated vibe and
makes it more for
the song rather than
the music video.
Lighting will be minimal
unless I am recording in the
dark so it gives the feeling
of the dark is surrounding
the person in the video
because the light makes the
dark look more
overwhelming.
The look and feel
I am going for is
grainy and sad
so it doesn’t take
away the
message of the
song and the
contents within
it.

I know you so well,
so well
I mean, I can do
anything that he
can
I’ve been pretty

It will be a medium shot of someone
walking through (woods or tunnel)
visuals will be grainy and dark as it is a
slow beginning.
I know you’re
somewhere,
somewhere
I’ve been trapped
in my mind girl,
just holding on

I will carry on what I was doing for the
first scene but I would of changed the
whereabouts of where the person is
walking
I don’t wanna
pretend there’s
something, we’re
nothing
I’ve been stuck
thinking bout her, I
can’t hold back

seconds
As these 3 verses are the slowest they
will all link to each other. So until the
beats starts to come in I will be doing
similar things with all 3 verses. But I will
be switching scenes for each verse so it
is different and not keeping the same
thing over and over again.

I’m in pain wanna
put 10 shots in my

I’ve been tripping

This is the start of the rap and this is
when I will be making a lot of edits in a
small space. I want to make it flicker
each time a beat is made so it looks
linked with the songs and beat.
A lot of editing and cutting of clips
Suicidal, same
time I’m tame
Picture this, in
bed, get a phone

herself

This is where the first reference will
come into the video and the edits will
change and colour distortion will be
apart of the video.
That was this
summer and
nobody helped
And ever since
then, man, I hate
myself
Wanna fucking
end it

The edits will slow down with this as it is
a very real and harsh part of the lyrics.

12. Production Group Info
• Me and max were the only people who recorded the music video. I
was the actor for the most of it and max recorded whenever I
couldn’t such as for the shots where I was in them. Otherwise I was
recording the scenery shots and did everything else by myself.
13. Location information
• I will be filming around forest areas and maybe some bridges. This is
for the walking scenes and random scenery scenes.
• I used my phone and the only actors was me. We filmed where there
was no people so we didn’t have to ask for permission or have any
other people in my video.
• I didn’t need a plan B location as I used random locations where I
knew it wouldn’t be a problem to film or have any issues. So I didn’t
need to have a backup.
• There wasn’t going to be any issues as my locations had no people or
disturbance as it was a rural area.
