4. It’s a recurring theme of using fish lenses throughout his
album including in the golden music video. The fish eye
camera gives the audience an ultra wide angle that
produces a strong visual distortion. Throughout the
video, the editors refer back to these fisheye lens shots
that are half underwater so you can see the wide
surroundings. CAREFREE

The music video is set on the
Amalfi coast in Italy and opens
with a blurred tunnel entered with
the title. This is because they have
a low aperture setting making less
light get to the lens. It fades and
the camera focuses onto harry
running towards the camera. It
then shows a closer view of him
running in slow-motion while lip-
synching. While filming, the track
would have been speed up and
filmed in fast motion and then
later edited back into normal
speed making the footage
produced in slow motion. The
camera is on the back of a car
Infront of him and uses a tracking
shot to get any further close ups.
They use a fast cut montage to
cut between multiple locations as
well as harry driving a car where
the camera is attached on the
hood of the vehicle.
In all of Harrys music
videos, they at least once
film a tape of him singing
the song with a hand held
camera. A theme is a lot of
the time they put a
vintage effect or colouring
on it. This gives the
audience a chance to
connect with the artist
when moving away from
the story line. The hand
held camera is usually an
extreme close up of his
face or a close up of his
whole body. Other videos
that include this are sign
of the times, kiwi, lights
up, watermelon sugar,
adore you and falling. The
camera is always steady
and follows the
movements of harry.

11. POTENTIAL SONGS
1. Two moons – boywithuke
2. Show the signs – lord’s child, montell fish,
chromonicci
3. On my way – lord’s child, Madison ryann ward,
montell fish
Different concept:
1. Omen – Oliver riot
2. The cold - exitmusic
13. CONVENTIONS YOU PLAN TO
USE
What are the conventions of your musical genre? How
could you use them?
Conventions for my music is a lot of nature and I'm
planning on filming mainly outdoors. In plan to film in
like woods, fields and countryside. The song reminds me
very much of a teenage coming of age song, so I want to
represent that in my music video. The idea of spending
autumn with fairly and friends outside before winter hit
is what I want to create, almost as if it was me just
following people with a camera to show their everyday
life's.
14. MIND MAP OF
IDEAS
[SUMMARY OF
IDEAS]
I would of a filmed a teenage
summer for my project but due to
the time of year, I'm going to do an
autumn fast cut Montage.
This includes Halloween, sunflower
fields, and autumn themed days
out.
15. SUMMARY
5 opportunities of your ideas; what would it allow
you to do? Expand your skills? Refine something
you already know how to do?
1. It allows me to understand the importance of
lighting getting clear quality videos in low
lighting
2. it expands my knowledge of a camera and its
setting and how different things effect the
video
3. It does refine my ability to create a certain color
pallet that want to complete due to different
shoot days and weather changes through the
month
4. An opportunity it gives me is getting
comfortable with filming in public busy areas
which allows the cast to get comfortable
16. SUMMARY
5 restrictions to your ideas. Think about locations, cast
and personnel. Are any elements of your idea really
difficult? Do you have enough time?
1. Time of year – I would have done more of a summer
themed music video where nights are longer and
more activities I can do because of the weather.
2. Location's incudes a lot of permission
3. Not being able to do everything I want to be able to
do due to age. For example, drive to the beach so get
footage. My age restricts me from driving.
4. Filming time – I feel like there's little time to get it
done.
5. Cast – I want people to be comfortable when filming
and not feel forced or awkward.
17. FINAL IDEA –
ARTIST/TITLE/INF
O
TWO MOONS - BOYWITHUKE
Boywithuke is a very private artist,
and you see very little of his life,
including his appearance.
boywithuke is a pop indie artist.
He differentiates from other artists
is that he uses the ukulele in his
music. He has few music videos
but the ones he does have does
not sow his face and uses visual
effects.
18. FINAL IDEA – TRACK
SUMMARY
Two moons – boywithuke
The message behind
the song is sad and
about betrayed
however the songs
tempo is fast paced an
has a strong beat
throughout. It has a
summer feel to the
song and has whistling
in the background.
19. FINAL IDEA – YOUR IDEA
Your creative concept/video synopsis [describe your
interpretation, use of imagery or narrative, genre
conventions, etc]
My final creative concept is a fast cut montage of my
autumn plans. my focus is on how each shot looks
individually instead of telling a story. There will be lots of
things the associate with autumn like Halloween and the
weather change as well as the clocks turning back.

PRE-
PRODUCT
ION
ASSESSM
ENT
You need to assess the viability of your production and
investigate what is required to enable you to make your
music video
Much of this task is hypothetical, which means you will
need to investigate standard costings for such a
production and apply these to your planned production
considering which equipment you would need and
resources, etc
Resources to support this are in the Pre-production
assessment folder on Blackboard
Delete the questions on each slide and insert your
responses
22. TITLE OF

make and the intended outcome
Detailed breakdown of the music
track chosen and your interpretation
of it [remember the questions in the
workbook, e.g.
pace/mood/tone/structure]
Specific outline your intended
technical/equipment requirements
Include any details that you think
[you could use material from your
pitch]
23. LOCATIONS
You need to identify locations and plan a recce.
What are the limitations and risks, eg distance, access,
cost, weather? How will you manage this?
24. LOCATIONS
A limitation of my locations would be privacy. I would
want shots to be limited to my cast and not the pubic so
its about picking right times and weather so its quietists.
My locations and themes fit with the the year so my only
concern is coloring due to the lighting which I will
hopefully edit later in production. All locations are local
and near and the further ones have been arranged a few
days before. Other locations like bowling cost money so I
need to also plan these locations before hand. Lots of
locations don’t include cast aowing me t get y shots
quickly and efficiently
25. FACILITIES
Where will you edit your video? Do you need any other
specialist facilities…?
I will do majority of editing in school during my lesson
time. This gives me time to film out of school. If I'm not
editing during school time, I have access to premier pro
at home and will keep all my work on OneDrive.
26. EQUIPMENT
What do you need? E.g. equipment, resources? Mostly
from college, but who do you need to speak to get this
kit? What is available? When?
Look at equipment hire places, etc
What I need:
• Camera
• Handheld led light
• Tripod
All equipment need is at home or sorted through
friends.
27. PERSONNEL CREW: What is you
team? Who is in it?
What are each team

CAST: Do you need
any external
performers? When are

Transport them?
Other personnel? Is
anyone else helping

MAIN CAST
28. PROPS/COSTUME/ETC
No props needed apart from the equipment.
I want the video to feel very natura and not forced so I
would like people to dress as they choose to express
themselves.
I do want a flowy dress in a field but I'm not sure if I can
get that arranged due to the weather and time of year. I
want the person (Olivia Winfield or faith Ajaib) to be
comfortable.
I will bring a disposable camera to get a certain effect.
30. PRE-PRODUCTION:
VISUAL PLANNING
This section is concerned with the visual planning of your
music video
You should use this section to develop the sequencing or
your video, establish the relationship between the visuals
and the track itself and create a structure for you to follow
when filming
It is important that you ‘pre-visualise’ the video before you
make it; it will make filming and production a more
streamlined process
The following tasks are part of your visual planning
Pre-visualisation and concept boards
Storyboarding
Shot list
31. PRE-
VISUALISATION/CONC
EPT BOARDS
Tool for exploring the direction and visuals
Provides inspiration and information for the “look & feel”
Presents key moments in your video
A means to sketch/plan ideas
Information on colour/lighting
Defining the “mise-en-scene”
Include as much here as you like, but keep it relevant to the
production, the following slides have been left blank for you to
approach in your own way, add more as you need to
Extension suggestion: edit a short sequence of clips that have
inspired or influenced your video [similar to this:

games-might-be-better-than-the-real-movie]
32. STRUCTU
RAL
BREAKDO
WN
Breakdown your track into it basic sections [e.g.
intro, verse, chorus, verse, etc] and apply broad
visual ideas to each section
You can use this as the master template for your
production, then add more shots to each section
when you develop your full visual plan
You should create a slide showing all the sections
of the song, then add a slide for each section with
timings, lyrics, what happens and details on
specific shots
You could storyboard and shot list each section
as you go, to break up the process.
33. Two moons, I can feel
myself start catching on
fire
You knew, yeah, you kept
it to yourself, to yourself
Two moons, I get lost on
my way, searching for liars
This ain't good for my
health, no, this ain't good
for my health
(before intro of the song)
A clip of this shot with scene
pressing and hearing the start
of a car noise in the
background
This is going to be an intro
the music video. Its going
to show different clips
from different days. It will
give a setting of what the
music videos aesthetic is
like.
Instrumen
tal
This will show childhood
footage of me and my twin
sister to formally introduce
the song and songs credits.
34. Sorry, please excuse me for
my mess
My heart's been pouring
through my chest
I fell through corridors of
broken floors
I'm sorry that I left
Fell asleep in my new bed
I can't feel happy in my head
I see two moons and nothing
more
I close my door, I'm left with
less
This verse has a strong
drum and bass behind
the lyrics and will show a
series of videos with a
fast and cut montage
used with one color
pallet linking to the
theme of Autum. In
production the coloring
will be fixed so it has
orange properties as well
as dark night life due to
the clocks turning back.
Instrumental including
whistling
This will include clips that
are longer and cut in time
with the beat. They will be
footage that is focusing
purely of the visuals of the
shots.
35. I don't feel serene (oh)
No, I don't feel too clean
(oh)
And I don't want to be
the one to make you cry
Oh, plain sight, I'll start a
fight
I'll tell your friends that I
lost my mind
And it'll take a while, but
I'll start to smile
Open with a car
video and then go
on to other clips
from other
locations. When the
beat picks up then
clips will get
shorter
36. STORYBOAR
DING
Your storyboard should bring your idea to
life
Provide an idea of the sequencing of you
video
Provides a basis for production
Suggested online storyboard creators are:
https://www.storyboardthat.com
http://www.pixton.com [very
complicated]
http://www.storyjumper.com [allows you
to insert your own images]
Alternatively, hand draw or photograph
your storyboard and scan or copy to insert
it onto your slides
There are lots of tips collected together on
Blackboard!
38. SHOT
LIST
Your shot list should contain the
sequential breakdown of what you
need to shoot for your video
It should work in partnership with
your storyboard
It will be your working document
when you film
It should contain the shot number,
scene number, shot description,
framing and action you will see
It should also have information on
performers in the scene and other
props, etc
Shot list template is on Blackboard
in the pre-production folder.

48. RISK
ASSESSM
ENT
Risk Assess each separate filming
location using the table in the
camera H&S PP on Bb as a staring
point
Completing a generic filming
assessment would be a start, then
you can add specialist/site specific
risks as you progress your
production
Remember, a Risk Assessment is an
ongoing document, you should
evaluate if anything changes in
production and when you put
control measures in place
You should add the table to each
call sheet for each location
49. RISK ASSESSMENT
risk solution
Car hazards Car safety (seatbelts, airbags,
car seats)
Bowling incident Extra precaution, having adult
with, easily accessible phone
Trips and falls Having camera protection on,
having any small lightweight
safety cover ups (plasters,
bandage)
Editing headaches. Eye strains
and wrist strain.
Taking a 15 minute break
every hour and a half to rest
Fire hazard Wear gloves and protect lens,
keep watch of fire, use
appropriate fuel.
50. CONTINGENCY
PLANNING
Things go wrong
Your contingency plan is there to give you a
backup or to minimize the effect on
production
You should consider the following areas:
Technical, Location, Personnel and
Organizational areas [about 5 potential issues
for each]
Use the form in pre-production folder on
Blackboard
51. CONTINGENCY PLAN
Technical problem solution
Computer breaks All files stored on a
