Working Title:
No Matter Who You Are
Audience:
My audience age must be between 15 and 24 because my video is suitable teenagers. My video
will encourage my audience to feel safe and feel comfortable to come out. My audience can be
both genders because LGBT have gay (men) and lesbian (female), bisexual, transgender,
pansexual, asexual, intersexual, queer, questioning etc. This means it will appeal to both genders
and everyone can watch my video. My video won’t be aimed at a rich or poor audience because I
want my video to be for everyone. My video will be longer because my video has an important
message that I want to pass onto all the audience to let them know my video is there to show the
support. My video will appeal to my age group because most teenagers have hard life when they
are worried about, and sometimes won’t come out or openly come out. I want to my audience to
feel safe when they are watching my video. I want everyone to watch my video because LGBT
have men and female both are same, both are equal.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I had already learnt some skills with the camera, because two years ago I created two short films
for level 2 media, which meant I had to learn how to use camera and how to edit. I need to learn to
be more professional with the camera because I want to my video to have movement. So this year
I have been learning a new skill, which involved using a studio light, because I never use it before.
I did an experiment with the studio lights and I feel I have improved with using the studio lights, but
I still need to become more to professional when using lights. I researched on Youtube to create
my music video. I researched some existing music videos and they influenced me to create my
idea. The influenced me to create my idea because I watched Sia and Lady GaGa’s videos, they
showed support for the LGBT community by having rainbows painted on their faces and some of
the lyrics. It made me feel strong and like I wanted to stand up for LGBT too, so it made me feel
like I wanted to create my own video to support the LGBT community. This is important to me
because I am gay, and I want everyone in the LGBT community to feel safe.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My idea is to create an LGBT music video. My video is an important for the LGBT community. I’m
gay and I want to show to my LGBT audience that I support them, and I have been through similar
experiences to them. I will create my video, and it will have part comedy because I want to make
my audience feel relaxed and I want them to have a good laugh. Most of the other LGBT videos
already out there have depressing themes, like bullying, parents rejecting the child, prostitutes,
attacks and all of their facial expressions look sad, these are all horrible experiences that people in
real life go through. I disagree with some of the others showing this because they can make the
audience feel sad, and relive their bad experiences, which will mean their mental health could
become worse and get depression My video will be different to the others because I want my video
to have some comedy, like acting weird, silly facial expressions and doing something funny, which
can make my audience feel less depressed, it can make them laugh and help their mental health. I
want to protect my audience from suicide. When I finish creating my video, I need to research how
to get my audience to watch my video. Maybe I can put it on YouTube because YouTube has the
most of teenagers, and they will watch my video.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
I have been learning about the studio lights because I need it to make my screen look nice, bright
and clear. I never used them before, so I was experimenting with the studio lights. I did two
experiments with the studio lights on different backgrounds. One video was with a white
background, and one was with a black background. I preferred to use the white background
because it looked a lot brighter, and clearer. I thought the studio lights were hard to use because I
didn’t know how to use it before, and looked like I might have an accident with them, I was worried
it might fall down and break, or the studio lights pole might trap my fingers. Once I tried using
them, I realised that they are easy to use because the studio lights have wheels to move them
around the room, and the head of the light is adjustable. I enjoyed learning how to use them. I
need training with editing because I’m Deaf and I can’t hear the sounds. But I might need the

music rhythm because this have show sounds waves which helps me to know which is loud or
quiet rhythm.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I will have a evaluation in my development diary in every week because my development diary talk
about what happened and how is going to my work. In the final I will have lots of details about all
my work.
