Working Title: Iron Heart
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Age: 15-24 (teenagers) I have targeted the music video towards teenagers and young adults since
drum and bass music is a music that is usually listened to at festivals and parties that young
people attend. It is also used as pump up music to get people excited before doing sports like
basketball and a lot of young people take part in sports. I have done this through the actors in the
video since all the actors will be teenagers.
Gender: My target audience would most likely be men since men typically like things like action
and violence and these are things that are included in my video.
Social status: Working class. Most of the people that listen to this genre of music are working class
but anyone could listen to this music however.
I have helped the video appeal to working class people through the costumes worn. The actors
woll be wearing clothing such as hoodies and brands such as Nike. These are brands often worn
by working class people.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
I have definitely increased in knowledge in using photoshop. I had never used photoshop until I
started this course but now I know how to use it pretty well. This helps me in my project since I
needed to use photoshop to create something for one of my experiments.
The subjects I have studied this year have had an impact on this project. Earlier this year we made
an Irn-Bru advert and we used adobe premiere to edit it and put it together. I hadn’t previously
used premiere but I will now use it to edit my final music video.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project?
The concept for my project is to make a music video for a song of my choice.
The song I chose is called Iron Heart and is by a Belgian artist called Netsky. I am going to make a
first person video using a gopro camera about three brothers that are robbing and stealing from
people in order to make money to pay the bills for their house. They are stealing from people in
the street and are then also breaking into a house.
Research I will need to conduct
I will need to research music videos. This helps me find techniques and styles that I like and could
use in my music video.
I will also need to research locations I can use. I have some locations in mind, but I would need to
check that they are safe to use and that I am allowed to use them. For some places I may need to

get permission to film there so people don’t think anything suspicious is going on.
I will need to research how to use a gopro. I haven't used one before but I can find out how
through the internet or by asking a teacher.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
What specialist techniques do you need to consider? (e.g. green screen, Steadicam, post-
production, sound, etc)
Does this require any specialist equipment/training/demos?
One technique I may need to learn is how to use a greenscreen since one of the scenes in my
video is in a car and I would need it to look like the car is driving without actually driving it
I may need to learn how to use special effects software such as after effects since there is one
scene in my music video where the police arrive and for this scene I want there to be some
flashing lights and a police siren so you can tell that the police have arrived, however I would need
to learn how to do this. I could find some videos online showing me how to though.
I will need to consider using a Gopro to film my video. This is because I want my video recorded in
a first person view and a Gopro is the easiest way to do this.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
I plan to evaluate my work through my reflection in the pro formas.
I will also evaluate my work through my evaluation pro forma. In here I will talk about the things I
think I have done well in my work and the things I think I could improve on.
