Research: European Coffee Trip Context
• Two guys created their YouTube about travel in European for experiment coffee.
• They introduce themselves in about nearly two minutes and they talked about travel all around in
European to experiment taste coffee in each country.
• They created 208 videos of topics but there are included games, quizzes and make a
documentary. The fact, I research how many countries around in European are 44 countries which
is why they created video more than 44 videos.
• Their edited are brilliant because they use professional editing like change focus, fast/slow
motion, camera movements and lots of shots. One thing they are most used the camera walking
which means the person carried the camera and follow the presenters.
• Their target audience are adults and middle-aged because they are love drink a coffee and they
are interesting want to try taste European coffee. Some of audience are love to travel the
European and some of audience are love to taste random coffee make they relax and less stress.
• I think they are probably increase wage because they spend lots of booked flights and hotels each
in countries. Flights and hotels are expensive to buying. Which means they are popular in YouTube
by millions audience to watch them and want to watch more videos.

Research: Chicken Connossieur Context
• He created his YouTube is about taste random chicken from the shop.
• He introduced himself in video about nearly two minutes. He talked about he went to various
shop to taste the chicken and explain what it taste like. He tried to persuade to his audience to
want buy some chicken from the shop.
• He created 24 videos of topic and all videos show that he tried to taste the chicken from each
the shop.
• I noticed his edited are not professional because he filmed himself and look like he played with
his camera like silly and action. He doesn’t have any studio lights or special editing. He just use
camera that’s all. But he had interview with owner who manage the shop. His videos most of
close up on chicken and the boy eats the chicken. The video can make his audience feel hungry
and attracting want to eat it.
• I can tell that his target audience are children and teenagers because he is young. He can
connect with his audience who similar as his age and probably same as hobby as him.
• He doesn’t need any money because all his videos had same location where he lives. Also he wear
school uniform and he went to chicken shop after the school. He only want to persuade and
inform to his audience about which shop is best taste chicken ever. He wants to his audience visit
and buying some chicken from the shop.

• The lady called Yolanda and she created YouTube about make a cake.
• She gives an introduce about herself like name and company, also reason she make a cake in this episode. They
usually about 1 minute for introduce before the start.
• She created more than a thousands videos of make a cake because she had lots of ideas to design cakes. She
wants to show about her skills idea and handmade. She likes to teach her audience to learn how to make it or
want to make it. That’s why she had plenty of idea to create.
• I can tell that her video edit had some fast editing because make a cake can be so long to watch like one or two
hours to made it. So, she make a brief video to show make a cake. Also fast editing can make the audience feel
interested and attracting. She used a lots of close up on the cake because that will make her audience feel
hungry and saliva when they watch at her cake.
• Her target audience is between 18 to 50 years old because her video talking about giant cake or excellent skill
fondants which I think probably suitable to 18 to 50 year old. Under 18 year old might be not ready to learn how
to make it or probably not interested to watch it. Over 50 years old might had difficult to cook at their ages or
maybe forgot how to make it. Also her target audience is really both gender because depends what their like or
not like to bake.
• I think she have lots of wage because she keep spend the shop to buying ingredients and foods. She created lots
of giant cakes and cupcakes in each of episode which means she spend a lots. Also she is popular in YouTube
because her millions audience who watched her and her making a cake. They want her make more video about
new cake.

• He created his YouTube about he made a professional cocktails. He was introduce
himself in the video is about nearly one minute. He explained about he shows to his
audience how to make a proper cocktails and whiskeys.
• He created about 178 videos of he made a cocktails and whiskeys. He shows to his
skills to make a cocktails and whiskeys.
• Only has some edited, close ups, slow motion and change focus that all. But he used
with studio light because his background are nice and clear. His video have only two
shots that he used close up and medium shot.
• He created the video to his target audience teenagers and adults because they love to
drink alcohol. We know the mostly of teenagers audience would love to watch them
because teenagers always love to drink cocktails, whiskeys and shots just like they
usually going out the nightclubs.
• He definitely get his wage from the YouTube because he brought lots of bottle of
alcohols on his counter. They are too expensive because all the alcohol are expensive.
He spend more bottles while he created lots of videos.
Research: Similar
• All the YouTube are same as comedy. I would like to have some comedy in my film because that
is help to learn before my FMP. Also they had make a joke to make their audience laugh and
comfortable. Comedy is best for the audience because I want to make they feel relax, happy
and comfortable. Not need be so seriously.
• All of YouTube are used the same as close up on the thing like coffee, chicken, cake and
cocktail. Close up can make the audience want to taste them and look closer what they look
like. I will use close up because I research in YouTube some of video always have close up
because they want to show what they look like.
• Three of YouTube have slow and fast motion because they show how it look amazing and cool
skill editing. For example the person pour the bottle into glass with slow motion make the
audience feel so thirsty and want to drink it. Other for example fast motion when the person
sometimes make a cake with fast motion for don’t want make the audience wait and bored. So
fast motion is similar skipping some scene to make a time in one video.
• All of YouTube has same as used a presenter to explain about their topic and subject. I think I
will not use the presenter because I want to create new film without talking or words. I prefer
just physically like drink a coffee, eat a cake, service them, cut the piece of cake and pour the
coffee into the mug. I think it’s good idea for without presenter because I’m Deaf and I don’t
use any talking or some words.

Research: Shops in York
• I picked some shops because they have historian building. That is might interesting for my audience because I
would like to my audience have a respect for visit in ancient buildings where there were war in 12th century.
• Also there had coffee, tea and cakes. I think that will be good for filming because most people aware York had
strong historian tour industry. I found there had an odd because I never see the café has inside of ancient or
historian building. Also, one shop had bit different form other shops, the gatehouse is use upside above and nice
to view to the town. Other shops always on the ground.
• I will email contact to some owners who manage at the shop for permission to filming inside and outside of the
shop. I want to the shop closed because I don’t want to any customers to interrupt my filming. Also, I hopefully
one or two staff who behind the bar to make a coffee, cut slide piece of cake and service to the customers. I
will shooting at them with Ronin camera for slow and fast motion, change focus and zoom in or out.
• I don’t want any customers to fine me by filming them without their permissions. I hope the owner might
allowed to closed the shop only for one day or few hours to filming around the shop. Also, I need to plenty room
for filming because I know some of shops had very tiny shop which is very easy to crowd. So, I need to space
room for the filming.
• I hope to found which is unpopular shop because unpopular shop owner who might accepting to filming at their
shop and they want to spread to customers to know about it and visit the shop. I might won’t to filming the
popular shop because they had already to spread website, commercial or article. Many people are know about
that shop. Also popular shop the owner or the manager will be too busy or not be won’t allowing to closed for
one day. That’s why I prefer to filming at unpopular shop more easy for me.

clever skill to make it and there only few subtitles about ingredient. The video look so relax and comfortable
because camera style had the most of close up and change focus to make look nice and clear. I noticed the editing
had the most of slow motion because it’s make the screen look clear, smooth and attracting. I like to create similar
as it because I will use the editing slow motion and close up shot because they are important to make the audience
want to make a tea. I will make a coffee, probably cappuccino, Americano, latte, pot of tea or pot of coffee and I
will be filming to make them.

handmade coffee and location. I like their style to use the camera for slow motion, close up, zoom in and change
focus. I will use similar as their style of camera. I want to try something new skill camera movement. I will use the
editing slow motion because it’s will take the time to show what is them. I will experiment with slow motion, close
up and change focus because I will use them in my film about coffee and cake. I would like my audience start
attracting want to go to shop and buy some. I hopefully that the shop owner will allow to filming around the shop.
Also I hope owner might booked one day to close shop for stop customer get in and let me filming around the shop. I
will ask one or two guests to order and make a coffee and service a cake. I will adding slow motion, close up, zoom
in and change focus to make my video look so attracting.

Roberts and I found interesting about his camera skill. His camera movement had spinning circle which is I never try
that before. For now, I will use the spinning circle for round the circle on the centre cup of coffee to make look cool.
I want some new skill like spinning circle, fast and slow motion and without a tripod. I will experiment with spinning
circle because I never use it before and I might need it for my video about coffee and cake. I have one idea, from
the first spinning circle forward to coffee and then spinning circle backward to cake. I will editing to middle from
two scenes together and make change quickly.

The shop called Spring Espresso, his name is Steve and he’s
accepted me for filming inside of his shop. I received his phone
number for contact to discuss with him about the shop.
“Hello, my name is Jack and I am Deaf. I am a student and I am studying creative media production at York College. My project is about coffee and cake shops.
I’m learning to create my web-series and will talk about coffee and cake shops like in an advert or a commercial. This is simply a project for college, I will not be
making any money from this. I will be filming coffee, cake and the interior of the cafe. Also, I would like to film one of your staff making coffee. I will have 2 to 3
other people with me who will be discussing the coffee and cake we are eating. We will be having our conversation in sign language. One of my presenters would
also like to talk to a member of staff about the coffee and cakes that you sell. I am interested in your shop and I would like to film around and inside. I will be free
between 2nd January to 8th January. Is there a time that would be good for you? I hope to hear from you soon.”
I emailed to 10 shops from my list. I must send lots of shops because I want to prepare if one of shop probably accept it. I
write one paragraph about the introduce myself and explain about what and why to filming in the shop. I hope one or two of
shops accept me to filming around their shop.

Research: European Coffee Trip Context • Two guys created their YouTube about travel in European for experiment coffee. • They introduce themselves in about nearly two minutes and they talked about travel all around in European to experiment taste coffee in each country. • They created 208 videos of topics but there are included games, quizzes and make a documentary. The fact, I research how many countries around in European are 44 countries which is why they created video more than 44 videos. • Their edited are brilliant because they use professional editing like change focus, fast/slow motion, camera movements and lots of shots. One thing they are most used the camera walking which means the person carried the camera and follow the presenters. • Their target audience are adults and middle-aged because they are love drink a coffee and they are interesting want to try taste European coffee. Some of audience are love to travel the European and some of audience are love to taste random coffee make they relax and less stress. • I think they are probably increase wage because they spend lots of booked flights and hotels each in countries. Flights and hotels are expensive to buying. Which means they are popular in YouTube by millions audience to watch them and want to watch more videos.

He talked about he went to various shop to taste the chicken and explain what it taste like. He tried to persuade to his audience to want buy some chicken from the shop. • He created 24 videos of topic and all videos show that he tried to taste the chicken from each the shop. • I noticed his edited are not professional because he filmed himself and look like he played with his camera like silly and action. He doesn’t have any studio lights or special editing. He just use camera that’s all. But he had interview with owner who manage the shop. His videos most of close up on chicken and the boy eats the chicken. The video can make his audience feel hungry and attracting want to eat it. • I can tell that his target audience are children and teenagers because he is young. He can connect with his audience who similar as his age and probably same as hobby as him. • He doesn’t need any money because all his videos had same location where he lives. Also he wear school uniform and he went to chicken shop after the school. He only want to persuade and inform to his audience about which shop is best taste chicken ever. He wants to his audience visit and buying some chicken from the shop.

Research: How To Cake It Context • The lady called Yolanda and she created YouTube about make a cake. • She gives an introduce about herself like name and company, also reason she make a cake in this episode. They usually about 1 minute for introduce before the start. • She created more than a thousands videos of make a cake because she had lots of ideas to design cakes. She wants to show about her skills idea and handmade. She likes to teach her audience to learn how to make it or want to make it. That’s why she had plenty of idea to create. • I can tell that her video edit had some fast editing because make a cake can be so long to watch like one or two hours to made it. So, she make a brief video to show make a cake. Also fast editing can make the audience feel interested and attracting. She used a lots of close up on the cake because that will make her audience feel hungry and saliva when they watch at her cake. • Her target audience is between 18 to 50 years old because her video talking about giant cake or excellent skill fondants which I think probably suitable to 18 to 50 year old. Under 18 year old might be not ready to learn how to make it or probably not interested to watch it. Over 50 years old might had difficult to cook at their ages or maybe forgot how to make it. Also her target audience is really both gender because depends what their like or not like to bake. • I think she have lots of wage because she keep spend the shop to buying ingredients and foods. She created lots of giant cakes and cupcakes in each of episode which means she spend a lots. Also she is popular in YouTube because her millions audience who watched her and her making a cake. They want her make more video about new cake.

He explained about he shows to his audience how to make a proper cocktails and whiskeys. • He created about 178 videos of he made a cocktails and whiskeys. He shows to his skills to make a cocktails and whiskeys. • Only has some edited, close ups, slow motion and change focus that all. But he used with studio light because his background are nice and clear. His video have only two shots that he used close up and medium shot. • He created the video to his target audience teenagers and adults because they love to drink alcohol. We know the mostly of teenagers audience would love to watch them because teenagers always love to drink cocktails, whiskeys and shots just like they usually going out the nightclubs. • He definitely get his wage from the YouTube because he brought lots of bottle of alcohols on his counter. They are too expensive because all the alcohol are expensive. He spend more bottles while he created lots of videos.
  • 10. Research: Similar • All the YouTube are same as comedy. I would like to have some comedy in my film because that is help to learn before my FMP. Also they had make a joke to make their audience laugh and comfortable. Comedy is best for the audience because I want to make they feel relax, happy and comfortable. Not need be so seriously. • All of YouTube are used the same as close up on the thing like coffee, chicken, cake and cocktail. Close up can make the audience want to taste them and look closer what they look like. I will use close up because I research in YouTube some of video always have close up because they want to show what they look like. • Three of YouTube have slow and fast motion because they show how it look amazing and cool skill editing. For example the person pour the bottle into glass with slow motion make the audience feel so thirsty and want to drink it. Other for example fast motion when the person sometimes make a cake with fast motion for don’t want make the audience wait and bored. So fast motion is similar skipping some scene to make a time in one video. • All of YouTube has same as used a presenter to explain about their topic and subject. I think I will not use the presenter because I want to create new film without talking or words. I prefer just physically like drink a coffee, eat a cake, service them, cut the piece of cake and pour the coffee into the mug. I think it’s good idea for without presenter because I’m Deaf and I don’t use any talking or some words.

  • 12. Research: Shops in York • I picked some shops because they have historian building. That is might interesting for my audience because I would like to my audience have a respect for visit in ancient buildings where there were war in 12th century. • Also there had coffee, tea and cakes. I think that will be good for filming because most people aware York had strong historian tour industry. I found there had an odd because I never see the café has inside of ancient or historian building. Also, one shop had bit different form other shops, the gatehouse is use upside above and nice to view to the town. Other shops always on the ground. • I will email contact to some owners who manage at the shop for permission to filming inside and outside of the shop. I want to the shop closed because I don’t want to any customers to interrupt my filming. Also, I hopefully one or two staff who behind the bar to make a coffee, cut slide piece of cake and service to the customers. I will shooting at them with Ronin camera for slow and fast motion, change focus and zoom in or out. • I don’t want any customers to fine me by filming them without their permissions. I hope the owner might allowed to closed the shop only for one day or few hours to filming around the shop. Also, I need to plenty room for filming because I know some of shops had very tiny shop which is very easy to crowd. So, I need to space room for the filming. • I hope to found which is unpopular shop because unpopular shop owner who might accepting to filming at their shop and they want to spread to customers to know about it and visit the shop. I might won’t to filming the popular shop because they had already to spread website, commercial or article. Many people are know about that shop. Also popular shop the owner or the manager will be too busy or not be won’t allowing to closed for one day. That’s why I prefer to filming at unpopular shop more easy for me.

I like to create similar as it because I will use the editing slow motion and close up shot because they are important to make the audience want to make a tea. I want some new skill like spinning circle, fast and slow motion and without a tripod. I will experiment with spinning circle because I never use it before and I might need it for my video about coffee and cake. I have one idea, from the first spinning circle forward to coffee and then spinning circle backward to cake. I will editing to middle from two scenes together and make change quickly.

That image I will similar as it because I will use the change focus. I will filming at coffee, bar, menu, guests or cake with blurry background for focus on one thing. I will definitely use it because I never use it before so that time I will use it in my project.

So, I will filming at some cakes from the glass shelves and show to the audience who will feel hungry. Also I will use pan or track to film whole glass shelves to show what the cakes look like. I think it’s will really attracting because my audience who love a cake. That image I will similar as it because I will use close up with change focus and slow motion. They are perfect for my film because I use them make look so cool and attracting. For example, I will filming as person pour pot of coffee into cup of coffee with close up, change focus and slow motion to make look so tempting.

I received his phone number for contact to discuss with him about the shop. “Hello, my name is Jack and I am Deaf. I am a student and I am studying creative media production at York College. My project is about coffee and cake shops. I’m learning to create my web-series and will talk about coffee and cake shops like in an advert or a commercial. This is simply a project for college, I will not be making any money from this. I will be filming coffee, cake and the interior of the cafe. Also, I would like to film one of your staff making coffee. I will have 2 to 3 other people with me who will be discussing the coffee and cake we are eating. We will be having our conversation in sign language. One of my presenters would also like to talk to a member of staff about the coffee and cakes that you sell. I am interested in your shop and I would like to film around and inside. I will be free between 2nd January to 8th January. Is there a time that would be good for you? I hope to hear from you soon.” I emailed to 10 shops from my list. I must send lots of shops because I want to prepare if one of shop probably accept it.
