Tech Startup Growth Hacking 101 - Basics on Growth Marketing
Question 3
1. 3. What have you learned
from your audience
feedback?
Tom Fearon
2. The first step I took when collecting my audience feedback was showing my
music video to the class. Everyone then emailed me with their thoughts and
feedback on my video. This was very useful to me because all the people who
watched my video were the target age for the song I chose, making the
feedback more representative.
3. After my first method of collecting feedback, I then uploaded my music video to YouTube
for another way of getting feedback. This method has the potential to be a lot more
effective as anyone in the world can watch it meaning the audience is far greater, resulting
in more feedback. As you can see, my music video has already got 87 views with 2 likes.
This shows that, so far, no one has anything negative to say about it which I am very
surprised and happy with.
4. When it comes to the feedback, there were a few comments that stood out to
me. “Very professional looking” and “ Looks like a music pop video” were main
two comments that grabbed my attention. These comments are amazing to
see because if what I am making now looks professional and genuine, it only
gives me great hope for the future.
As there were no negative comments given to me, it has given me confidence
to make more music videos. This is because, not everyone would have liked
the song I chose as singer/songwriter is quite a niche market, however there
were no comments about the choice of song which shows that the quality of
my music video must have been good enough for them to like the video.
Another reason that it gives me confidence is because, when it comes to the
industry, it shows that I may be able to create music videos for other artists
and attract an audience that may not have liked that specific artist before, but
because of the music video, they start to enjoy not only the artist but also the
genre.
5. Although the feedback was really positive, there were a few things in the
music video that I think I could have changed or improved.
Firstly, I think that I should of scripted a costume change to add
diversity to the video and to mix things up a bit.
Secondly, there are a few shots where the lens is a bit dirty. In my
opinion this is a rookie mistake and I should have cleaned the lens
before every shot to get the best quality.
Lastly, I could have used more shots for the studio location. I found that
it got a bit boring going back to the same two shots of the studio.
From my own criticism, I believe that if I want to do music videos in the
future I will have to improve my standards to meet the level of other
music videos.
