3. Research
ā¢ Strengths:
ā The strengths to my research work is that i feel with the magazines I chose to
put on the PowerPoint it helped me with my actual work when it came to do it
with what to put on the magazine cover.
ā¢ Weaknesses
ā I do feel like I kind of went of what I was actually doing how I wanted to do a
film magazine but I feel like I didnāt really do that, how I just did wrote about a
city however I feel like it came out good. My weaknesses for my research is
that when you had to get similar picturesmagazine covers it was hard to find
something that represented what I was wanting to do.
I personally feel that it turned out ok how I did it because it might of not been
completely what I wanted to do but I feel that it had some similarities to the ones
that I searched up on the internet.
4. Planning
ā¢ Strengths:
ā The strengths to my work for planning I feel when I did the PowerPoint āInitial
Plansā it helped me think of ideas that I probably would of forgotten if I didnāt
write down what I might of wanted to do. I also think that it helped go off on
them ideas to make them more detailed by adding more each time when I
thought of something or just putting small things down that might make it
easier for me when it came to doing final product.
ā¢ Weaknesses:
ā The weaknesses to my work in initial plans is that I feel like I didnāt write the
most which made me struggle with what I wanted to do and I also felt that I
had to think of more things when I was actually doing the work.
5. Time Management
ā¢ I feel like I managed my work ok specially at the beginning as I had more
time to think of things. However I do feel that I should of thought of things
a little more as I struggled to actually come up with ideas to do with the
work as I feIt I didnāt write enough to look back on to help me out.
ā¢ If I had even more time to do the project I would of made more time for
thinking of what I wanted to do as I struggled with that.
6. Technical QualitiesMine
Existing
product
With my work I think its similar with the existing product
because of the cover, it has a picture of a city which mine
has too as its about a city. Another similarity is the
spreadsheet its not completely similar but its kind of is by
it having a big picture with writing then with smaller
pictures to it as well.
The differences are with my work and the existing product
is that the layout with the spreadsheet how its got the
text on the left side of the page and has more pictures to
it where with mine its got the text on the right side with a
few photos to it to make it more interesting to look at
rather than having a lot of text to it that might not interest
people when they see it.
7. Aesthetic Qualities
I personally think that my work looks alright, I think this because I feel
like it looks like a magazine with the spreadsheet with it which makes
it look more real. I think that itās kind of creative by it having the city in
the background and then the way the spreadsheet is set up how it has
one big picture on one side along with writing on the other side of the
page. The bit that I like the most is the spreadsheet because I feel like
it was very different to what we have done before so I felt that I
wanted to do it more and because I've done a magazine cover before I
felt like I was just coping what I was doing before but because it had a
spreadsheet along with it, It made it more interesting for me. What I
would improve is the main cover I feel like I rushed it and could of
added a lot more to it to make it pop out.
8. Audience Appeal
I feel like I havenāt appealed to my target audience only
because I feel like I changed what I did during doing my
work so my audience was 16 and upwards which it still can
be but I feel like more older people would read the
magazine a lot more by what its about which younger
people probably wouldnāt really care about. I feel like
younger people will appeal to the pictures more than the
actual writing for what might appeal to them the most or
they might actually might enjoy reading about the city
because they might like that specific city or have been and
would like to know more about it. I feel like people who
are in their late 20s or early 30s might enjoy it more if they
like magazines that are about cities.
10. Feedback 1
ā¢ What did you like about the product?
ā I like the image and the writing about the city.
ā I also like the idea that you chose to do.
ā¢ What improvements could have been made to
the product?
ā The title on the magazine cover is quite blurry,
maybe in the next you can change the style of font
or make sure that it isnāt blurry.
11. Feedback 2
ā¢ What did you like about the product?
ā I like the double spreadsheet how it has images
next to the text showing where the places are.
ā¢ What improvements could have been made to
the product?
ā I think that you should make the writing on the
main cover for the magazine clearer as you cant
really see it.
12. Feedback 3
ā¢ What did you like about the product?
ā I liked the style of the double page spread and how it
stayed in a monochrome style with all of the content
on the page.
ā I also liked the text on the double page spread and the
way it was presented.
ā¢ What improvements could have been made to
the product?
ā On the front cover the text was not very professional
looking, and on the double page spread the text
shouldnāt have each paragraph with a highlighted
letter as it makes it seem less important.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
ā¢ What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
ā I agree with the text on the front cover being not very
professional as when you see other magazines the text is
more suitable for that particular magazine. Also with the
text on the front page as its kind of blurry making your
eyes go a little weird. Another thing is having a capital on
every paragraph how its not all important.
ā¢ What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
ā I donāt disagree with what the feedback says I agree with
them which is good so if I do this another time. Then I
know what I would do differently from the feedback that
people have spoken about.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
What I would do better if I had the chance to redo it would to make
sure to make the text more clear so people can see it better along with
the font, can change it to make it more clear like Iāve already talked
about or to just make it look more professional which will make it look
more like a magazine.
15. Adding more to my article spreadsheet
and front cover.
At the end I went back through the article, the
double spreadsheet and I added more media
information to it. I added photography
information to Central Parks and Times Square.
With the front cover I added more stuff about
photography along with a camera so when
people look at the magazine they know its about
photography.
