develop, or challenge forms and conventions
of real media products?
Video
Use
- Use of appropriate props (acoustic guitar)
- Some link of lyrics to action in video
- Instances of voice syncing

- Features only one band member
- Acoustic rarely have music videos in genre,
lack of heavy editing including quick cuts,
change of scenery etc
Develop
- Use of metaphorical meanings of lyrical, rare
to see
3. In what ways does your media product use,
develop, or challenge forms and conventions
of real media products?
PrintUse
- Artist/album name clear in bold typography
- Includes ‘parental advisory’ warning
- Images of band present throughout digipak
- Use of consistent colour scheme and typography
- Correct information in small print
Challenge
- Use of artist on front cover, not just within extras
- Use of audience within back cover
- No focus on one individual
Develop
- Artist/album name present on disk as well as
cover/spine
Overall my media products generally use conventions of r
media products. There are multiple instances of challenge
convention. However there is imited development of
convention.
4. How effective is the combination of your main
product and ancillary texts?
Effective
- Links through artist with a band member
appearing in the video
- Reflects location used for digipak
Not Effective
- Does not use music relevant to entire album
(acoustic song compared to other songs on
album)
- No mention of album itself
- Does not feature all band members
- Use of colour, contrasts and separates
Overall there are few links between my main product and
ancillary tasks.Whilst there are some links in general they are
distinctly different.
5. What have you learned from your audience
feedback?
Learned
- Change of song structure, ie used a demo version
instead of studio
- Adapted typography and effects for a rougher
finish
- Added colour distinction in spine
- Completely changed back cover image due to
colour issues
- Altered other digipak elements
- Adapted colour alterations within collage
(digipack element)
Changes made to several elements throughout the
construction has allowed for a more convincing and
appropriate presentation of my production.
