2. Process
For my first experiment, I tried creating a
walking cycle. As I wanted to concentrate on
the walk, I only did an ugly looking stick
figure. Each limb has correlating colours as it
is being used o show how and where each
ones moves in the cycle. I had to create eight
versions of this stick man in different
positions to create a walking cycle over eight
frames, one that repeats over and over again
so it looks like it is constantly moving. Over
eight frames, I made the different layers
visible, which in turn showed the stick man in
a different position, which became the
walking cycle.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• The walking cycle will play a big part in my final piece and so, with some
improvements, I will use this cycle. It is important that I improve it as right
now, the cycle is a bit jumpy, and so I will need to add more frames later
on to make it more smooth.
• On my final piece, I will not use something as tacky as this character. I will
concentrate more on what my character looks like, and that mixed with
the cycle
4. Process
For my second experiment, I went further. Last time I
did a walking cycle on a stick man. This time I made a
character that I would want in my game. As seen by
the side by side comparison, my characters are digital
versions of real NBA players, and this is the first one I
created. I then started to make a jumping animation
as though they were blocking a basketball shot,
putting their arm up. This consisted on 13 frames all
together. After I was satisfied enough with the
jumping animation, I went onto Beepbox to create the
jumping sound. This didn’t take long as I knew what
kind of sound I wanted. After I downloaded the sound
I made, I went onto premier pro to put it together.
This was easy to me, as it only required me to click
and drag the items together to work in time with one
another. Finally, I exported my finished experiment
and uploaded it onto Youtube.

5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– When I made this character, I was very pleased with the outcome. So
pleased with it that I will probably use this character as one of the
bosses in my final piece. I also like the animation I did, even though it
needs some improvements to make it run more smoothly. I will also
use other similar sounds that I create on Beepbox. When making other
characters in the future, I will use this current one as a template when
creating the others, which will keep the same style but with different
characters.
