2. Process
I drew a image of a duck and I’ve
done it so every time it moves,
different parts of the body of the
duck changes color.
I’ve added a sun in the corner
of the image and similar to the
duck changing color I’ve done
it so every time it moves the
sun gets bigger.
Whenever the duck moves I made
it so it blinks, so I’ve colored the
eye in on one and the next it isn’t
I also changed the angle of the
Ducks wing, so it looks like it’s
moving in time with the legs.
I haven’t yet added a background
because I wanted to experiment
with the movement of the image
first.
3. Reflection
• The image walking across the screen I think I’ll include to my final product also the colour
changes it has every time it moves across the screen I like, but if I did it in my final product I’ll
only make it do that if it collects something, so it’s not every time it moves.
• I like how they eye blinks as well so if I have a character similar to the one in my experiment
I’ll probably add the eye blink, also with the feet moving I feel like I could do it better, in my
final product I plan to have the background moving and not the actual, character, but I’ll
move the feet slightly so it looks like it’s moving.
• I also think for my final product I would like to have an animal as my main character rather
than a human, because I feel like drawing animals is easier than drawing humans and they
could be either tiny characters or big ones.
• I don’t think I’ll have it so the characters walking along the page like the duck is, but I like the
idea of a running and dodging game, and you have to collect coins or something so I would
just have a background running along behind the character for that.

4. ProcessFor my next experiment
I’ve done a bunny on a
skateboard, unlike my
Duck one where it moves
across the screen I’ve
made this stay where it is.
To make it seem like it’s
moving, I’ve put a black
square on the side of the
wheel on the skateboard and
on every new slide I change
the position of the dot so it
looks like it’s moving.
I’ve also made the bunny
jump, so I kept lifting the
image upwards on every
new slide then I dragged it
down throughout another
series of slides.
5. Reflection
– For my second experiment, I like the idea of having the character staying in one place,
but slightly moving parts of the image so it looks like it’s moving, and making a long
background so it has to jump over things, I think I might apply that idea to my final
product.
– I think it’s cool to have some wheel of transport in the game to play with, I originally
wanted to add a scooter but it turned into a skateboard and I thought it looked better,
so I’m thinking of including that into my final product as well.
– So far I’m not entirely sure what type of game I want to make so far I like the idea of a
running game, but it’s not something original so I might change it up when it comes to
planning, but I think with the experiments I’ve done I’ll definitely include some of the
elements of my experiment into my final product.
6. Process
I’ve made a background to go with
with my character, I made it long so
when I add it to my character, the
background will move along but the
bunny will stay in place but it will
look like it’s moving.
I put an obstacle in the middle of
my background which will be the
thing that my character will jump
over.
I’ve added some flowers and
clouds as well, just so the
background didn’t look boring
and it adds a bit more to it.
7. ProcessI added my character to the
background, and for each frame I’ve
dragged the background along so it
looks like it’s moving.
I added an obstacle and I made the
character jump over it I had to use 5
frames to do this and each time I
kept lifting the character up and back
down again.
I wanted the bunny to do a
flip but I couldn’t turn it due
to the pixels so I left it just
rolling along the ground.
Which can be boring so for
my final product I’ll have it
do some more tricks.
8. Reflection
– I like the idea of having obstacles that the character has to jump over so I think that
could work in my final products.
– In my final product I will make a better background, maybe not so plain but also not over
the top, the background I made for the experiment I think is very plain so I won’t be
making one similar for my final product.
– In my final product I will have more obstacles if I go along with this idea, I will also have
things you need to collect as well, I like the idea of having it starting of slow but then the
game gets faster, so it makes it harder to see what’s coming and what they’ll need to
avoid.
– I also think for my final one I’ll make it more complex as well so it’s not the same thing
repeated.
– I tried to make the bunny do a backflip in the air but the pixels were too small and it
blurred my bunny so for my final product I’ll look at a way I could do that without ruining
the image.

9. Process audio
I started out trying to set out a
rhythm, so it starts slow and then
gets faster. I was trying to set it out
so it would fit with in time with a fast
game.
After I got the rhythm I then added a
beat to it so it fits in time with the
rhythm, I also added some extra
sounds to it as well so it wasn’t the
same thing repeated.
Spacing the instrument out like
that I found created quite a funky
tune, that I thought would go well
with a video game, after I had
done my first rhythm, I added a
second one and a third but I
changed the set up of the
instrument a bit so it didn’t
always sound the same.
I added more numbers to make
my tune longer as well, because I
thought that it was a it short.
10. Process audio
I added my audio to my short
video game, I had to put two of
my clips in because the audio was
longer than the clip. I tried to
slow it down but when I slowed it
too much my clip didn’t look tight
so I had to slow it 60%.
I think if my audio was at a slower
place it would of probably
matched my game, I felt the tune I
made didn’t really go with it. But it
does make it look more fun of a
game than what it was without
sound.
I mixed up the different tunes I
did so it all fit together, without
the same tune being on repeat.
11. Reflection
- I think once I’ve got an idea of what my game is going to be and once I’ve made it I’ll be able
to make a tune that would match with the game. I like the different tunes where it goes from
a high pit to a low pitch really fast, I think they sound good so I’ll probably include that in my
final product for the sound.
- I also tried to make mini sound effects such as when the bunny jumps over the spikes, I put a
flute in going high when it jumps up and low when it goes back down. When I do my final
game I’ll probably include a few of those sound effects and other ones as well because it
makes the game more fun and better to play.
- I don’t want the same tune on repeat in my final product of the game, so when I make my
audio for that I’m going to try and make the tune last the whole game, with different types of
rhythms in it.
- I quite like my tune to be sort of retro as well because I think it will fit in with the graphics of
the game well, and it will make the game more enjoyable to play.
