This document provides feedback from a teacher on a student's pre-production work for a music video project. Y Excellent analysis of song ‘Guns for hands’. Excellent use of Goodwin’s full
theory throughout. Great use of screen shots to back up points throughout.
2. Ideas visualisation feedback and initial ideas Y Good use of wordle to display peer comments. Comments summarised well.
3. Genre Research Y Posted with emaze. Excellent research, lots of good information displayed
well. You could add styles and attitudes of the genre. Please add a citation
section – what websites did you get your info from? Sources now cited.
4. Target Audience Y Two excellent posts. The first detailing sketches of your stereotypical
audience members, good inclusion of the 4C’s theory. The second showing
results from a questionnaire given to potential audience. Findings displayed
and summarised well.
5. Digipak and advert analysis (2 of each) Y Excellent analysis of 3 CD front covers, back covers and album adverts. All
tied together well with a summary of findings.
6. Annotated lyrics Y Great notes that show your ideas well.
7. Storyboards some Good clear storyboards. However you need to add all the detail, shot type,
camera movements, lyrics etc. Technical detail now added.
8. Shot list Y Fantastic shot list, well done. Great addition of lyrics and timings for the song
to make your vision crystal clear.
9. Locations recce Y Great images of chosen locations with commentary on why they have been
chosen. You could add elements of risk for each location that you should
consider before filming in these locations. Risks now added to commentary.
10. Floor plans Y Excellent floor plans, great notes on the shots that will be filmed in each
location. The use of the key makes the diagrams clear to follow.
11. Costume Y Completed together on one post. Excellent reasoning behind choice of
actors. Costumes choices again explained well with images. Great additional
colour analysis added to create further meaning. Prop choices explained
well with visuals. Please add head shots/images for your choice of actors.

production well.
Initial Mark out of 20: 16/20
Overall this is an excellent body of work. With a few improvements you could achieve a secure grade in this level. Please tidy up
blog labels, you only need preliminary tasks, theory notes, pre-production, production and evaluation – you have 20 different
labels!

Overall an excellent body of work. You have used your time well to make final improvements to your work. Blog labels still co ld
be tidied up more to only show the ones needed in initial feedback.
