2. HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT
REPRESENT PARTICULAR SOCIAL
GROUPS?
3.
4. In my magazine the social groups that I have represented
are white British and African American teenagers/young
adults, this is purposely similar to my target audience in
age because I wanted the reader to relate with the artists
in the magazine. I have used a male model to cant the
females attention as well as maybe encouraging males to
empathise with the artist featured as they are the same
gender.
5. On the front cover page, we have a
view of the stereotypical male who is
sitting and almost acting like he doesn’t
care but also giving us an impression
that there is something important
about him. The model is wearing
counter typical clothes of a teenage
boy and is very fashionable with his
outfit instead of the stereotypical
clothing of a tracksuit and trainers. It is
shown that if the model is dressed
more appropriately for a magazine, it is
more likely to appeal to my target
audience and the model is giving them
something to look to, and I found this
with the majority of magazine.
6. The layout of the contents page in
particular is very simple and there is
no over crowding. The amount of
text used is kept to a minimum. I
only used a splash of colour so it
would contrast with my themes of
black and grey to attract the readers
eye and a younger audience might
perhaps be so attentive to read a lot
of the contents, therefor the clear
structure layout would be sure that
my audience wouldn’t miss anything.
7. SHOT TYPES
In the majority of m images I haves used/ taken
were eyeline shots, the model is looking into the
camera and this creates a direct mode of address
which means the audience can have a direct
personal relationship with themselves and the
artist.
I also used images where the model isn’t facing
towards the camera. I did this because I wanted
my model to have some mystery towards him so
you couldn’t fully see his emotions and this will
entice the younger audience to read about the
model to get to know him.
I used a mixture of long shots and mid shots and
close ups in my magazine. As the pictures in my
magazine are all of the same model, this enables
the reader to make a connection with the photos.
The long shot appears on my front cover, mid
shot in my contents and a close up on my double
