2. Results
• Having created different digipak designs and deciding on my favourite, I decided
to conduct a survey to gather audience feedback on how they felt about the
designs.
• Questions focus on the style that the audience prefer, the colour scheme of the
designs and the features in each design that they feel is the best feature
• Here are the results.
4. Which digipak
front cover design
did you prefer?
From the pie chart, you can see that the
majority of people preferred the first
digipak design. This is good for me as
this is the design that I chose for my
final product outcome, therefore I can
see that I have complied with the
audience’s needs. This is important
because if this were a real digipak, it
would be vital that the product appeals
to the public as they would be the people
who are going to buy the digipak.
5. Please enter the number from
the previous front cover
design that you liked and a
brief message as to what you
like about it.
1 – Better
1 – It looks
better
1 – Looks more
professional
than the others
1 – Clearer
1 – Represents
the company as
opposed to 2
girls
2 – Logo in the
background
2 – Shows the
romantic side of
youth
Most of the people that preferred the
first digipak because it generally looked
better than the other designs. In
addition, the answers provided that
highlight that the first design looks more
professional than the others, which is
good because this shows that this design
is the most realistic as a design that
would be professionally used.
Furthermore, for those who liked the
second design, they preferred it because
of the elements within the design, such
as the logo and the characters on the
design.
6. What do you think
about the house
style/ the characters
shown/ the font?
The majority of people liked the house style of grey
and pink. This is good because it is what has been
taken from my inspiration drawn from other
Sundara Karma albums, having a greyscale effect
then a central colour that pops. Furthermore,
because a lot of people chose the first digipak
design, it meant that a lot of people didn’t have an
opinion about the characters on the screen.
However, for those that chose the second digipak
design, they loved the characters that were shown.
This could be for a variety of reasons, such as the
symbolic significance from the picture, being that
it displays a homosexual relationship, or that they
liked the stylistic effect that was superimposed
onto the picture. Finally, majority of people were
neutral in regards to the font, with the rest of the
people mainly having a positive opinion of the
font. This is good because I have used this font
across the board for my production including the
credits and disclaimers from the main task video.
7. Conclusion
• From the results, it is clear that the design that I choose, the first digipak, is the
one that the audience prefer.
• The audience that I asked are people from a number of different ages. This is
significant as the perceptions of youth from different age groups is important in
ensuring that the representation that I am showing is as accurate as possible. In
addition, if this were a real digipak, I would need to be appeal to a wide range of
people even outside of my target audience. This is because people that are within
the target audience of teens to early 20s could have other people buying the
product for them, therefore they would need to be attracted to the product as well.
• This survey has been helpful in allowing me to make a clear decision on which
digipak design I should keep and I am happy that the design that I chose is also
the one that people prefer.
