 This song was released in 2014, which shows
how M&S are relating to a current audience
through the use of modern music.
 Reflects the idea that M&S are current therefore
is the best and latest place to shop
 Absence of lyrics allows the audience to
recognise the song but focus on the content
within the screen, focuses and maintains the
audience's attention

generated the the series, thus
for M&S too.
 They’re advertising their brand
as well as their products due to
ensuring that the audience are
aware that the products that
are shown on the screen can be
bought "Only at M&S"
 Synchronous sound effects occur infrequently
and accord with the actions on screen when
they do occur, as well as fitting in time with the
music, for example the slicing of the Scotch
Egg. The rhythm of the music in time with the
actions on the screen allows the audience to be
able to have something to follow along with,
therefore allowing the audience's attention to
be drawn to the advert shown.

 The black background
with the colourful foods
presented allows the clip
to emphasise the vibrancy
of the products, ensuring
that the whipped cream is
peaked against the black
background for example
shows the stark contrast
of the two shades, thus
drawing the audience's
attention to the product
as there is no back ground
distraction.

M&S Advert Analysis

  • 2.  This song was released in 2014, which shows how M&S are relating to a current audience through the use of modern music.  Reflects the idea that M&S are current therefore is the best and latest place to shop  Absence of lyrics allows the audience to recognise the song but focus on the content within the screen, focuses and maintains the audience's attention Music: Clean Bandit – No Place I’d Rater Be
  • 3. Title: Adventures in Imagination  Creating a stream of videos with the same theme but different content allows the audience to have something to follow. the more videos produced under this label, the more publicity that is generated the the series, thus for M&S too.  They’re advertising their brand as well as their products due to ensuring that the audience are aware that the products that are shown on the screen can be bought "Only at M&S"
  • 4.  Synchronous sound effects occur infrequently and accord with the actions on screen when they do occur, as well as fitting in time with the music, for example the slicing of the Scotch Egg. The rhythm of the music in time with the actions on the screen allows the audience to be able to have something to follow along with, therefore allowing the audience's attention to be drawn to the advert shown. Setting and Lights  The black background with the colourful foods presented allows the clip to emphasise the vibrancy of the products, ensuring that the whipped cream is peaked against the black background for example shows the stark contrast of the two shades, thus drawing the audience's attention to the product as there is no back ground distraction.
