1. Evaluation
Original idea (scorpionic)
During the two units we completed as a group I think we did very well to complete all the
tasks and communicate as a group well so we could easily decide all the colour scheme,
name, brand and slogan.
My original ideas were thought of before I joined the group and were called “Scorpionic”
this idea was trumped by the more bright and vibrant and overall better idea “Trew”
This was my original idea, I didn’t spend much time on this as we didn’t have a lot of time to
come up with a crude advert/logo so it was rushed, I still so like aspects. Such as the writing
that fits in with the colour of the scorpion also how the scorpion is overall.
I originally came up with this idea because I thought that it could look very good and
specifically appeal to a smaller group of people (older teenagers) that would like these kind
of animals better and the dark colours should also appeal to them because during market
research they said darker colours and fearful animals.
2. Evaluation
Bus/Train Advert
I completed the task of doing the Bus or Train advert for the group; I think I did a very good
job of this because I used a similar colour scheme to the rest of the group and similar ideas
however I wanted to have my own spin on the advert so that it then wasn’t confused with
other adverts.
This is my advert. A similar one was done by another member of the group. My own spin
was the blue writing and the text of the writing, also the outline of the writing. You can’t see
it in the writing in the yellow bars but you can in the “sugar free” at the top and the “Trew”
in the logo in the middle.
The main bit that I think stands out to viewers is the blue writing because it does not fit in
with the rest of the colour scheme at all. I did this purposefully to make the “new flavour”
the most prominent and to make them buy it the most.
We chose this because of the brighter colours so it can appeal to a wider audience of
teenagers so more people would buy it rather than a select audience which wouldn’t bring
in much revenue.
3. Evaluation
TV Advert
I think that the TV Advertwas a massivesuccess becauseweaccomplished a
wide variety of things that we all thought that we wouldn’tbe able to do, such
as:
- Getting people to dance in frontof the camera
- Editing the video to the extent that it accomplishes what we wantit to
- Getting decent background pictures
We all had something to do in this music video, if that was such as filming,
being filmed, or editing us all wereable to do something.
I did the main editing for the group as I didn’t do anything else bar being
filmed, so that everybody had something to do. I found the editing quite hard
as it was a lot of green screen work and I hadn’t edited anything like that
before however overallI found it good and a good experience so I can then go
on and remember the skill and re-useit in the future.
I think that everyonedid pull their weight in one aspect or another. I feel that
some people did the majority and somepeople tried to do as little as possible
but everybody did do something, the person I feel did the least was Brookeas
she refused to be filmed, wasn’table to put up the green screen and didn’t
want to film. The person I feel did the mostwas Jozie as shewas filmed,
helped assemblethe green screen and was filmed.
