1. ComputerCamera
Tripod
Tripod– The tripod was a very importantpiece of kit as it was making us able to make very
professionalstillshots. Itwas also allowing us to make very slight adjustments to the
camera angles to make the scene more powerfulas we can usethe rule of thirds and keep
the camera frommoving and ignoring that very important rule.
Camera– This was a very important piece of our equipment as it was used to actually film
the piece, other than that it was a very good camera with very good functions including
the 9 squares that you could animate onto the screen and you can usethe rule of thirds
alone to make intruding deception very professionalfilm. The camera also allowed
playback which could let us decide there and then if we had the exact shots we wereafter.
Computer– The computer also played a very heavy part in the production of the film and it
was to edit all of the clips together after we had filmed them, it was a very good computer
and was able to use very good softwareand hardwareto make the editing easier and
better. The computer was fastand allowed us to use it efficiently, there wereno places
wherethe computer would struggleto run and slow down or freeze.
2. This is our
project for our
filmitallowed us
to keep our film
separatefrom
others which
made itvery
easy to get back
to editingwhen
we needed to.
This blue partright here is
for the footage to be
placed and arranged. To
put all of the clips weliked
that we filmed and put
them in a good order ready
to edit the sound and put
the filters onto.
This here is
where we
edited light
levels and
cropped the
footage down
to be ableto fit
with all the
other filmsizes.
This is the selection of
filters for the clips we
have, this is where we
got the negative effect
when tom firstsees
Chris.
This sound right
here us the sound
we got from
freesound.org and
where we got the
door opening and
closingand had to
time itwith the
footage and take
down the volume of
the sound we had
downloaded.
This is the soundtrack we made on garageband,
tom had very good piano skills and weused this
to our advantage ittook justas longto make the
soundtrack as ittook to edit the whole film. And
when we eventually got the soundtrack we had
to go back over it and correct the places thatthe
suspensebuilders were in the correct place
This is where we added the
titles on top of the filmafter we
had edited it to allowthe
audienceto know who it starred
and who did the music and who
wrote it and who itwas directed
by. This was another partof the
process that took longer than
expected, but still gotdone
before the deadlinewith extra
work.
3. We used all the Online and downloadable applications to improve our film that
we could think of to give diversity to our film. We Started off with using Final
Cut Pro X to put all of our recorded shots onto the computer and arrange them
in an order to let us see the film all presented out in the right order scene after
scene. And then proceed to edit all the scenes together and trim the clips down
to have them all make sense and have the continuity flow like a normal film
would, we would then proceed to attach the audio we get from freesound.org,
well at least the ones we didn't film ourselves for example some of the door
openings didn't pick up very well and we couldn't hear that on the playback, so
we endeavoured into free sound and were searching for the perfect speed of
the sound and eventually found it on page 57, but the sound started too loud
so we took down the volume of the sound at the begging on final cut pro x and
made it sound perfect. After we got all the sound sorted out we then went on
to sorting out the backing soundtrack to the film, this was very time consuming
and took longer than expected but we decide not to rush it as sound is an
extremely important to a suspense thriller film. After that the film had been
completed we then proceeded to upload it onto YouTube as it would allow us to
annotate it and describe what we did in each scene. After we were finished we
finally had to link it onto Mahara and YouTube made it very easy to copy the
source link to embed it onto Mahara.
