4. COMPARE YOUR THRILLER TO THE
PRELIMINARY TASK
When it came to my groups preliminary task we
had used a number of different continuity editing,
for example we used the match on action, eyeline
match and we had made sure that we had
followed the 180 degree rule. We tried to make
sure that we had included this in our final thriller, so
for example we had included the eyeline match,
this was when Eduardo was staring and looking
towards Christina which is a perfect example of an
eyeline match in our final thriller. Unfortunately we
weren't able to include all of the styles of the
continuity editing as they weren't as relevant in our
thriller.
5. QUALITY OF SOUND
When it came to the quality of sound in both our
thriller and our preliminary task we never had that
much of a problem with it. In our preliminary task
which mainly consisted of diegetic sound, the
quality was quite okay, we had made sure that we
had chose a room which was silent and the was
too much noise or distraction from our thriller. But
during our thriller you were unable to hear whether
or not the quality of the sound was good or bad,
due to our thriller mainly being non diegetic
sound, which is why we didn’t need an external
microphone. But if we didn’t we may have had
some problems with the sound due to the weather
being quite poorly.
6. QUALITY OF SHOT
When we had first shot our preliminary task, I
have realized that we have made massive
improvement in the quality of the shots we
have taken. This could be due to the fact that
we had used a tripod in our actual thriller,
which meant that the steadiness of the
camera was much more better compared to
our preliminary task which was done
handheld. Also we had made sure that we
had taken a number of different shots,
compared to the amount of shots that we
had taken in our preliminary.
7. QUALITY OF IMAGE
We had also received massive improvements in
the quality of the image. Our group had come
to the conclusion that the location of the thriller
had contributed a lot towards the quality of the
image, as in the preliminary task wasn’t as clear
in some of the different areas in the school that
we took. Compared to our final thriller where
we had an editing of the colour of the thriller
being black and white. Which meant that the
lighting wasn’t as important as it was in our
preliminary task.
