2. Near to the same font for the masthead. Mariah Carey and Nicole Pinder are the same type of font and colour. The sell lines are the same, standing out. Here is a picture of my magazine (Remix) and the professional magazine (Vibe). I have looked a the professional magazine and used bits in mine that I thought would appeal to the target audience (mainstream/fashion/dance lovers) . I used the same colours as I thought they were fresh and summery, also yellow and orange stand out against black/white backgrounds. I got my model (Nicole Pinder) to use the same kind of sexy poses Mariah Carey used on the cover of Vibe, I thought this would attract males and also the fashion would attract females. The costume on the front of Vibe is a little bit too revealing for what I wanted so I had my model wear a dress that was fashionable and sexy so she stands out. I tried to use the same fonts as Vibe as I thought they were cool and in style, standing out and appealing to the mainstream. I used Vibe’s ideas as I think they appeal to the majority of mainstream and dance audiences. I changed the font of the masthead to appeal to more of a dance audience, I made it more bold and stand out with hard edges, so that it looked more trance and edgier. Also I changed the background to black as it looks more bold and I think it would appeal more to a dance audience.
