2. Preferred Learning Assignment-
I enjoyed this assignment because until that point I had not ever
thought about how I preferred to learn. I was also surprised because I
thought that I would score higher in the Feeling category. There were
really good tips in the book about how to overcome situations where a
student’s preferred learning style isn’t being used.
Discussion Board: Metacognition-
I really liked all the videos by Dr. Stephen Chew, but this one
really pertained to me. It made me realize that I had been relying on bad
habits developed in high school. This was also the very first discussion
board that I did and it was fun to see everyone else’s perspective.
Discussion Board: Portfolio Project-
I thought this specific assignment was a nice way to kind of recap
everything I learned in this class. It’s a fun and creative way to share our
personal experience. It will be fun to see if others had the same feelings
about the class.
3. Journal Entry 11-
This was really the first time that I had imagined what it would
be like to graduate from college without only thinking about how much
money I would make. I learned that the reward is so much more than just
financial stability. This was also the first assignment that I had to be
introspective and it didn’t end with me realizing that I’m not on track.
Journal Entry 13-
This journal made me realize how much I really procrastinate. It
was amazing how many activities I was doing in the fourth quadrant (not
urgent, not important). This was a real eye opener to the fact that I was
not doing my best as far as school is concerned.
Journal Entry 29-
This journal I decided to write about very personal events in my
life. The fact that I was able to write about them and then realize that
some of those emotions I had felt during the event had become something
else altogether. I also realized that I had a choice whether I felt certain
feeling or not. Not that they didn’t exist, but how I chose to view
something changed the emotional response.
4. Week 2
• I enjoyed the second week of this class the most because
it was the first time I was able to admit to myself that I
wasn’t as good of a student as I had thought. I knew
that I had problems with procrastination, but it really
put it into perspective how poorly I prioritized what I
needed to do versus what I wanted to do. This was also
the first week of assignments that I made the decision
to persevere and complete the class, even though I had
already made so many mistakes. This week was a real
turning point for me.
5. Something to Take With…
• I’ve learned that I am in control of my own success.
• The work that I’ve done in this class is just the
first step in establishing a lifelong trend of positive
decisions and actions.
• In order to do my best, I have learned that I must
set aside the time to put in the work.

I learned that I
can change how I
study and learn. I
also learned that
when you set your
mind to something
you can definitely
achieve it. I was
very pleased to see
the improvements
I had made in just
a few weeks.
