3. Favorite assignments
◦ Letter to the next class
◦ This assignment was my favorite because it made me realize how much I have gotten out of this course. I
reflected over the semester and I realized that if I would have known this stuff earlier it might have made
other classes easier.
◦ Self assessment
◦ I really enjoyed this assignment, especially when I retook it because it made it clear to me that I have
grown and changed in these short months. When I took the assessment the first time, it brought things
to my attention that I can work in. a person will never be perfect so there is always be room for
improvement. With his assignment, I learned that I am on the right track to accomplishing my goals.
◦ Scavenger Hunt
◦ Since this is my first semester at Grayson, it helped me a lot because I didn’t know all of the different
things that were offered on campus. The writing center is such a great tool that is offered to students. It
took a little bit of the stress off of me because there is so many resources if I need help with almost
anything school related.
4. Favorite journals
◦ Chapter 2 journal entry 8
◦ This journal was interesting to me because I never know about one’s inner critic, guide and defender.
After doing this journal, I realized that my inner defender isn’t very strong, but my inner critic is. I am so
hard on myself. When others mess up I don’t get mad, but when I do I criticized myself.
◦ Chapter 3 journal entry 11
◦ This has to be my favorite assignment in the entire class. Even though it was about a month ago since I
did it, I still remember how great it felt to think about accomplishing my goals. It made me so excited to
think about how all the hard work will pay off one day and my goals will be accomplished.
◦ Chapter 7 journal entry 28
◦ This journal was about integrity. As soon as I read the topic, I knew that I wanted to write about a boy I
knew who was bullied who eventually ended his own life. This one made me sad because of how the
situation ended, but it also made me realize that we must have integrity and stand up for what we
believe in, be honest, and reliable.
5. Module 4-mastering self-management
I enjoyed this module because I have always known I’m bad at managing my time. It’s so difficult
for me to say no to others so I end up overwhelmed with everything else I have going on. This
module made me realize how I can manage my study habits better and made me realize I might
spend too much time on things that aren’t important. While having free time to relax is necessary,
too much of it is just a waste of time. Chapter 4 journal entry 13 is my favorite in this module
because it breaks down how much time is being spent on important things and how much time is
not.
6. Lesson learned
◦ Stress isn’t bad, it helps people do well as long as it’s the right amount. On the other hand, too
much stress has a negative consequences.
◦ Good time management is one of the keys to succeeding.
◦ Taking breaks while studying is a good thing. I always thought it would distract me, but in reality
to much information in a short amount of time makes it hard for the brain to retain it.
8. Life After Accomplishing Goals!
In the future, I hope to be a juvenile probation officer and
work with teenagers. I believe that when someone is
young, they still have the opportunity to change their life
around with proper guidance. I want to make a difference
in their life. After I have my career, I want to have a family. I
want to work hard so one day my kids don’t have to worry
about paying for school like I have to. I want to instill the
values I have about hard work, but I want to give them
everything that I didn’t have and more.
