Kaitlin Williams
Major: General Studies.
Personal Affirmation: Study four hours a day, for the rest of the semester.
Top three favorite assignments.
– Community Service. This one was my favorite assignment because I enjoy getting the
chance to give back to the community. I also enjoy getting to see all the dogs and cats
that get excited to be out of their cages. It’s nice getting to spend free time with some of
the most precious creatures.
– Self Affirmation. I enjoyed getting to create a self affirmation, because like to challenge
myself. I like getting to tell people that I completed my goals. It also gave me a chance to
see how far I’ve come.
– Journal Entry 23: Dialogue with my inner guide. This assignment helped me the most
because it gave me the chance to have a conversation with myself, I wouldn’t normally
have. It also helped me learn new things about myself, and help me figure out where I
wanted to go in life.
Favorite journal entries.
– Entry 17. This journal entry really helped me figure out what was holding me back in my
school work, and outside of school. It also helped me realize how many people I have
that want to see my succeed. One thing I was proud of was figuring out where I need
work.
– Entry 28. This was a special one because I got the chance to tell people about myself. I
liked getting to show people my integrity, and commitment skills. But also where I might
have made bad decisions along the way.
– Entry 33. I really enjoyed the self-assessment quiz, especially getting to take it twice and
see what changed. I learned that I need to believe in myself more, and try my best to
learn self-management.
Favorite Module.
– Financial Literacy and Discovering Self Motivation. I think I liked this module most
because whenever I first started school I was having trouble finding motivation to finish
it. I liked having the chance to look deep inside myself, and find my own motivation.
Since I’ve found it, I’ve noticed myself completing my work a lot more now, and actually
passing.
Lessons to take with me.
– Learning to manage my time. From taking the self-assessment I learned that managing
my time is the most important aspect of college. When I started school, I thought it
would be a breeze, but it was actually very stressful. When I started to manage my time
better, I found school to be a lot less stressful.
– Deep learning. Learning to think deeper when I’m learning has helped me a lot. One of
my favorite parts is comparing what I’m learning to my own personal experiences. I
realized that it helps me remember more when I’m studying and during exams. I will
continue to do this for the rest of my college life.
– Staying on top of my school work. The biggest lesson I learned was to do my homework
or at least start it whenever I have free time. I never gave myself enough time in the
beginning of the semester. This is the number one rule I give myself now.

with me is the quote “If you keep doing what you’ve been doing, you’ll keep getting what
you’ve been getting..”
