2. TOP THREE FAVORITE ASSIGNMENTS
• Financial Avenue Courses: I liked this assignment because it showed me how to
handle money, budgeting, and take care of loans. I am horrible with money, and this
course showed me that there are many people out there with the same issue. It took
the stress of worrying about paying my loans away, and I believe I can handle the
situation better than ever.
• Letter to The Next Class: I loved writing a letter to the next class because I got to tell
future students what this class is really about. In the beginning, I thought this course
was just a blow-off class, but it is way more than that. I have gotten to work on my
belief in myself, my belief in my education, and my career.
• Scavenger Hunt: I enjoyed learning more about the college I am apart of, and what it
offers to it’s students. I can now go get the help I need, knowing exactly where
everything is. It taught me more about Grayson College than I ever knew before.
3. TOP 3 FAVORITE JOURNALS
• Chapter 9 Journal Entry 33: Over the course I felt like I have learned so much about
what to do to better myself in college, what I want in my career, and how to achieve
my goals. After retaking my self-assessment, and being honest with my scores, I
that this course had truly benefited me. I have taken in so much knowledge over 8
weeks, and I can’t wait to see what happens over the years.
• Chapter 3 Journal Entry 11: I loved being able to sit and write out the moment in my
life that I would realize I achieved my goals. During hard times in class, and while
my homework I can take a look over, and remember what I’m reaching for. This has
inspired me to keep moving forward and to continue to work hard.
• Chapter 8 Journal Entry 29: Talking through these situations, and feeling the
emotions again made me understand how these times had affected me. These
emotions are not permanent and the bad times will pass, and you can go on to
remember the good ones. I enjoyed being able to express my feelings from past
events, and release the emotions to give myself room for new ones.
4. FAVORITE MODULE
• Module 1 Discussion: How The Brain Learns: This module was my favorite because I
got to learn so many things that I didn’t know about the brain. I learned how our
works when studying, and what the best way to keep our brain up and moving while
working. Taking time to have a break, go outside and enjoy, and make sure to keep a
healthy diet. I got to read other classmates opinions about what they learned, and
it has benefited them as well.
5. LESSONS I WILL CARRY FOREVER
• That college is difficult, but you are not alone. There are people all around that are here to
support you. No matter if they are family, friends, classmates, or teachers they are all here to
help you get to where to want to be.
• Believing in yourself and what you are capable of achieving is a very important aspect. It can
help build up your motivation to work, inspire you on new pieces, and improve your school
by using your Inner Guide.
• The best way to study is the comprehension of the work you are studying. This has benefited
me greatly in my classes already, and my study skills have increased as well as my grades.
6. BEFORE AND AFTER SELF-
ASSESSMENT SCORESFirst
Score
Second score
55 68 1. Accepting personal responsibility.
54 69 2. Discovering self-motivation.
41 59 3. Mastering self-management
48 65 4. Employing interdependence
61 63 5. Gaining self-awareness
33 66 6. Adopting lifelong learning
34 48 7. Developing emotional intelligence.
32 47 8. Believing in myself
Over the course of the 8 weeks, I realized how to
accept that I am the one making my own
choices. That it is up to me to put forth the effort
and time to getting my degree. No one can tell
me I can’t or what I am capable of. I am the one
making the choices on how to live my life. I can
stop blaming myself and others for the bad
things that happen, and can start finding ways to
make the best of a situation. How can I lead
myself to success?
7. WHAT IF?
• If I were to accomplish everything I want to, I would be an actress. I would work for
professional stage theatres all around the world. I would get to work in England, and
train there. I would have my Masters in Fine Arts. I would have traveled the world, and
done training in different cultures and experienced different religions. I would see my
best friend who I’ve known since intermediate school, chasing her dreams as well.
Being on stage with her, and creating television shows, and productions together. I will
have a husband and possibly children too. I will see friends from my first year at
Grayson, working together on shows as well. I would be happy and content with being
apart of theatre.
