2. My 3 Favorite Assignments
• I liked discussion 1 because it was an interesting way to get started on the
class. It also was really cool to see what careers it recommended for me,
quite a few of them sounding really interesting. In fact, I actually plan on
going into the field of psychology which was one that it recommended.
• The scavenger hunt was also a lot of fun. Honestly it’s probably not hard to
see why. It was a scavenger hunt and it was fun to go find the information
for it if a little tedious.
• Finally I enjoyed the cognition principles because learning new ways to
study was a lifesaver. I’m not great at history so I tried out a few of the
techniques we learned and they worked extremely well. It was great to use
something I learned in one class to help myself do better in another.
3. My 3 Favorite Journals
• My top favorite journal was journal entry 11 where we described our dream
achievement, mine being graduating college. Having to think out and describe
this event made it much more real and believable, making me want it to happen
that much more. I learned that I want it to be just as great as I described it or
even better. Either way, I’ll have made my dream come true.
• Another good one was chapter 7’s entry 28. I know it seems a little silly but it was
incredibly soothing to vent about my personal integrity and the commitment I
made to my mother about not going ballistic on her friend’s daughter. I learned
that getting my emotions out in writing helps me let go of anger and can make
situations I was really upset about rather comedic.
• Finally chapter 5’s entry 17. This journal helped me in putting together a support
system, something I need more often then I’m willing to admit. With this
information I’ll have people to go to when I have a problem I can’t solve on my
own. Basically I learned that it’s better to reach out if I need help rather than to
keep it to myself.
4. The week I liked most
• I personally liked week 3 the most because that’s the week we did
journal entry 11, our biggest dream. Like I said mine was graduating
college because then I’d be the first one of my mom’s kids to do so, at
least that I know of. Getting back on track, the excitement of thinking
about success and seeing how well the study tactics we learned that
week worked made me feel very accomplished and happy. That
feeling of accomplishment sticks with me even now in week 8.
5. Lessons that will stick with me
• Deep processing: This will stick with me because as soon as I learned
it I started putting some of its aspects into practice and saw great
improvement in my work. It makes studying a lot easier and can be
used for a number of situations.
• I can do better: The self-assessment showed me that I can improve
and it does matter. I control my life, it’s just a matter of taking charge.
• Lastly there’s believing in myself: While it sounds dumb, this class
really helped me realize I’m much too harsh on myself. I’ve learned to
step back from the cliff of perfectionism and realize as long as I’m
putting forth my best effort there’s no reason to beat myself up.
6. Self Assessment Scores
1st Assessment
44 Accepting personal responsibility
40 Discovering self-motivation
22 Mastering self-management
42 Employing interdependence
39 Gaining self-awareness
47 Adopting lifelong learning
32 Developing emotional intelligence
21 Believing in myself
2nd Assessment
62 Accepting personal responsibility
64 Discovering self-motivation
50 Mastering self-management
46 Employing interdependence
58 Gaining self-awareness
71 Adopting lifelong learning
45 Developing emotional intelligence
60 Believing in myself
What I learned from the assessment at the beginning of the year is something I already knew: I had very low
self-esteem and a lot of issues. As the semester has gone on, I’ve improved and made changes for the better,
especially when it comes to believing in myself. I still have a way to go on doing my absolute best but judging
by my scores I’m on the right track.
7. The Grayson Link Career Assignment
• My code was AIR, with a 33 for artistic, 24 for investigative, and 18 for
realistic. The 3 career suggestions I found most interesting were a
hunter, psychologist, and a special effects make up artist. One reason
I find these interesting is because I already go hunting with my mom
but never would have thought of it as a career option. As for
psychology, I’ve mentioned a lot before that I already plan on going
into that career. Finally the one I found most interesting was a make
up artist, the main reason being I suck at conventional make up but
love just goofing around with it. Making a career out of that sounds
incredibly fun.

9. I would like to apologize
if the shark background
was not allowed. Design
specifications and rules
were not mentioned and
I thought the sharks
would be enjoyed.
I hope you liked them as
much as I did.
