2. Mid-Shot
The types of images I’m going to use are mid-shot images
because they are simple, yet extremely professional if the
images are to be taken correctly. This is a type of image that will
be effective within my Indie genre music magazine.
This show will able the audience to focus on the artist which is
the top half of their body. You are still able to see what they are
wearing however.
I feel like this is a good quality to include as I believe that my
audience would take what the featured artist is wearing as
inspiration. The audience will also be able to connect with the
artist via the facial expressions seen in the photograph.
3. Full Length-Shot
I would also include a full length shot of my model in my magazine as I think this
an effective way in conveying the genre and overall message of my music
magazine.
A full length-shot allows the audience to see the whole model, including
clothing, body language, facial expression and makeup.
As my magazine is going to be based around the genre Indie I believe it is
important to dress my model to fit within the sub-culture, if unsuccessful then
the images will not relate back to my magazine genre.
4. Close Up
I believe that a close up shot such as the image shown below
are extremely effective when they are placed on a double
page spread within a magazine. It gives the magazine a bold
personality and allows the audience to connect with the artist
through the facial expression.
I would like to incorporate these shots within my magazine as
I believe that it will engage the reader.
By having a close up shot of my model it will also allow me to
clearly convey the genre of my music magazine. The image
would primarily focus on the models facial expression, hair
and makeup.
5. Using Props
To allow my magazine to have a unique, established feel, I would like
to incorporate various props. Whether the prop simply be a chair in
which my model will sit on or a prop relating back to the category of
my magazine, which in this case is a indie magazine.
For example, I could use a microphone or an acoustic guitar as both of
these props relate back to the indie genre. I think using a prop will
allow my magazine to reach the music category successfully.
I will be sure to only use props in which relate to music, otherwise the
audience will get a different view on my magazine than what I was
aiming my magazine to portray.
