2. The target group for my
magazine consists of an
audience that includes both
males and females. I tried to
appeal to both genders by
avoiding using gender specific
colours in my magazine, I used
quite neutral colours red as I
wanted very bold and
contrasting house style. I also
used reception theory to
attract my target audience so
that the audience can relate to
the artists in the magazine,
creating personal relationships
and therefore potentially
creating a loyal fan base, by
also using direct mode of
address.
ATTRACTING MY TARGET AUDIENCE
3. I used a pull quote from the feature
artist to entice my target audience to
read the article and crate a personal
relationship between artist and reader.
I also used words such as ‘EXCLUSIVE’
‘NEW’ and ‘HOTTEST’ to entice my
audience as they think it’s the newest
and up to date gossip/info and can
only be found in this magazine.
My image is neutral as the house style
is the eye catching feature and gender
neutral to suit my target audience. It is
a happy and not objectifying image of
the female artist making her the
subject and not a object, this would
attract female audiences as well as
men.

4. I used a unconventional way to attract and
connect with my target audience, by using
social media links. This is because social
media plays a important part in teens and
young adults lives and it helps them keep
connected with the magazine at all times.
I did however use the convention of
organising my contents page into columns,
this is to have easy navigation to make it
easier for the reader. I also included a
features column to show all the artists and
articles in the magazine to attract readers
especially my target audience of teens and
young adults.
The house style is still gender neutral and I
used both female and male models in my
pictures for my contents page

5. My main image is very neutral and pretty and takes up half of
the double page spread. I used direct mode of address so that
the audience can create a personal relationship between
themselves and the artist.
I put the artist name right at the top in large bold shadowed
font to make it eye catching to capture the readers attention.

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD
I used a pull quote which
entices my target audience to
read the article on the double
page spread as it is different
and personal from the artist.
and creates hermeneutic
questions which also makes
the reader want to read the
article.
