The Living Dead
The introduction of zombies into this world has led many people to want to know about their
appearance, behavior, and weaknesses. Zombies are one of the most well known creatures in the world
today. Many people believe they are just a myth, but others have concluded that they are real. Fiction
or not, zombies are interesting enough to make people want to learn more about them.
The belief in zombies originated in the Haitian culture. The Haitians strongly believed in witchcraft
and Voodoo magic. They assumed that priests called bokors could turn a person into a zombie with a
powder containing a deadly poison. Several people would hire bokors to turn a person into a zombie if
they did not like him ( Zombies ). Bokors often turned the deceased into zombies if the person broke a
law during his lifetime. Zombies were also created for slavery. Being turned into a zombie was
considered a harsh punishment to receive. Although the Haitians concluded that zombies were real,
many other countries suspected that zombies were just a myth (Radford).
Although zombies are formed from dead humans, they have hardly any similarities in appearance. A
zombie s face consists of the same characteristics as a human s, but a zombie s skin has become ruined
due to decomposition. Their eyes appear to be much different once they have become a zombie. Their
pupils are shaded white. Zombies are also different from humans in the way they maneuver. While
humans normally move very easily, zombies have a

Britney Spears Cultural Perspective
As a thirty five year old, Caucasian female, Britney came from an unstable home life. Britney Spears
experienced major successes in her life, but went through some major losses. As a group, we are
analyzing the period in Spears s life that she seemed to break away from social norms and had odd
behaviors: such as alcohol abuse, drug abuse, vulgar public actions, and changes to her appearance.
We intend to approach this period in her life with a sociocultural perspective in order to get to the root
of her spiral and how she came back on top.
The sociocultural perspective focuses on the impact of social and cultural context on an individual.
The theory stresses the interaction between developing people and the culture in which they live. The
main founder and contributor to the sociocultural perspective was Lev Vygotsky. This theory suggests
that human development is largely involved with social process ( Contemporary Psychology:
Sociocultural Perspective, n.d.). That can produce variation or proliferation without any seemingly
significant changes in complexity. Through time, producing a form of structure can be qualitatively
different from the ancestral form. For example, a person who grew up kissing each other goodbye will
most likely pass that onto their children. The environment that Spears has experienced directly
affected her rambunctious actions. In her childhood, she grew up in a dysfunctional and disordered
family due to the alcoholic rages of her father. From

Into The Mystic By Van Morrison
My Place of Solitude Van Morrison in his song Into the Mystic quotes Hark, now hear the sailors cry,
smell the sea, and feel the sky let your soul and spirit fly, into the mystic. These lyrics are strong for
people who love the beach or sea. I love the beach, and everything about it. My place of solitude is the
beach because of the sand, water, and the surroundings. The first thing I love about the beach is the
sand. The sand is different for many people, how it feels, smells, and sounds. To me, the sand feels
very soft when walking on it, sometimes really hot. It smells a little like salt with a pinch of seaweed.
That squeaky sound the sand makes when you walk on it, is so funny to me. What I love about the
sand the most, is watching

Eagle Scout Life Lessons
As Baden Powell once said, A Scout is never taken by surprise; he knows exactly what to do when
anything unexpected happens. Scouting has been very important to me over the past 7 years. The
structure of Boy Scouts being primarily boy led, allows each scout to take initiative and lead their
peers through different scenarios and work together to make tough decisions. Each individual is
responsible for their own advancement; nobody spoon feeds the information to you. Over the past 7
years, I have progressed to the rank of Life Scout and have begun the last step to achieving the highest
rank in Boy Scouts; the rank of Eagle Scout. These seven years have left a tremendous impact on my
life. I have learned many valuable life lessons regarding dedication, leadership, and commitment
throughout my scouting career. These qualities did not come easy. I faced several challenges and
setbacks along the way and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Abstract: Steganography is a kind of secret communication method used to hide secret data in some
digital media such as images, audio etc. Cryptography and watermarking are other similar techniques.
Data is secured using these methods, but the fact that data is present somewhere gives us a specific
target, whereas sole purpose of steganography is that none must know there is some hidden data in the
file. So, steganography easily has upper hand over cryptography and watermarking. Steganography
can use almost all kinds of media present over internet to transmit secret data. In this paper, we review
some audio steganography techniques, their algorithms and some challenges faced in their design and
implementation. We will look in detail some modified techniques for audio steganography. Also, we
look at the problems faced with using mp3 files as cover media.
Introduction
Steganography is the science of hiding information so that it remains undetected except by its intended
receiver. Need of steganography arises when one needs to communicate privately and he cannot risk
to arouse the suspicion by sending encrypted message in plain sight.

April 12, 2016 The Importance Physical Activity and its Emphasis in schools Our lives are very busy
with many activities to the point where we neglect our health. Over time the neglect results in various
diseases and illnesses. In order to avoid this from happening, we need to make physical activity part of
our lifestyle from an early age. Physical activity has many benefits while many young people of the
future are still in school. According to the CDC, Center for Disease Control regular physical activity
helps build strong muscles. (CDC) It helps reduce the chance of obesity and other diseases and helps
improve an individual s mood and overall wellbeing (CDC Physical Activity Facts). Most students get
their physical activity through school PE classes. These types of exercise are done for a short time and
not enough for the recommended 30 to 45 minutes for most students according to the CDC. (CDC)
Physical Activity is an essential part of our lives and should be part of everyone s daily routine.
During my research I found many surprising facts on the benefits of physical activity. According to the
CDC s article Physical Activity Facts Regular physical activity in childhood and adolescence
improves strength and endurance, helps build healthy bones and muscles, helps control weight,
reduces anxiety and stress, increases self esteem, and may improve blood pressure and cholesterol
levels.1 (CDC). This is another example of

Lamb To The Slaughter By Roald Dahl
In Roald Dahl s, Lamb to the Slaughter, Dahl resembles the theme of the story to show the couples
deception. Dahl shows it by having the husbands desire to leave in an unsystematic way. It shows
dishonor and betrayal to the wife since she was 6 months pregnant and the only thing keeping her
happy was having a husband to take care of. Mary was the housewife, and Patrick was the husband.
Mary was always prepared with meals and comfort once Patrick got home from work. They both had
to do very little just to keep a smile on both of their faces, at least a fake smile. Patrick displayed
ignorance once he came home one evening, then mentioning how he wants to leave her. As you could
imagine the amount of shock Mary had in her, lead her to the decision she made by the end of the
story. Mary was very happy in life, she had a husband who she loved, a baby on the way, she thought
to herself what could possibly go wrong? Little does she know, when her husband walks in the door,
he s going to demand a divorce. When Patricks comes home, he gets his normal greeting and his wife
s condolence. Except, he was giving off a negative energy which Mary did notice. He seemed very
stressed, tired, and Mary was trying to help him and do everything possible to make him happy as she
watches him pound his whiskey in one sip. As hard as it was for Patrick to tell Mary the aching news,
this is going to be a bit of a shock to you, i m afraid he just had to spill it out. And he

Solar Power Vs. Wind Power
Have you ever thought about green energy? Well if you have, I am sure that you have heard of solar
power and wind power. There are also other forms of green energy, but they are not used as much as
solar or wind power, but solar vs, wind power is one the most debated topics in green energy. This
topic is controversial because the world is beginning to switch to renewable green energy and people
and politicians are debating which energy source they should use. Solar power is a better option than
wind power.
There are many reasons why solar power is better than wind power. One of the reasons is that solar
panels take less maintenance than wind turbines. Standard warranties normally last 25 years; and this
includes any repairs and damages that could occur to the solar panel. An example of this is if a tree
were to fall onto a group of solar panels from a storm and it was within the 25 year warranty, then the
company that made the solar panel would come and repair or replace the broken or damaged panels.
Wind turbines have shorter warranties from the manufacturers, and this should make people less
certain of their reliability. The solar panel companies also have a guarantee that a solar panel s
efficiency won t drop below a certain percentage over its lifespan, this percentage is normally in the
range of 85 90% efficiency. Also, solar panels are made of tempered glass which is made to withstand
hail and other damaging weather. Solar panels don t have any moving parts like a wind

Housing Bubble
According to Wikipedia a housing bubble is a type of economic bubble that occurs periodically in
local or global real estate markets. It is characterized by rapid increases in valuations of real property
such as housing until they reach unsustainable levels and then decline. Four years into the housing
bubble downturn, much of the country remains hopelessly confused about what happened, why it
happened and who is to blame. In my research paper I will try and demonstrate what a housing bubble
is, some of the reasons for the bubble, was it preventable, how it kept growing, how it burst and how it
has affected our economy. By definition a housing bubble is a temporary condition caused by
unjustified speculation in the housing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other scholars have emphasized the sharp deterioration in lending standards as contributing to the rise
in housing prices as well as the importance of changes to the mortgage market institutional structure.
Other explanations of the bubble have been demand side explanations, meaning that the bubble was
caused by excessive consumer demand for housing. One leading explanation argues that the bubble
was the result of irrational demand encouraged by a belief that housing prices could only move
upwards. Other research points to the fundamentals of housing markets, particularly population
growth, placing upward pressures on housing prices in markets with inelastic housing supply, thereby
explaining some of the geographic variation in the housing bubble. None of these explanations,
however, is capable of fully explaining the housing bubble. From 1997 to 2006 nominal U.S. housing
prices rose 188%. By mid 2009, however, housing prices had fallen by 33% from peak. As the United
States attempts to rebuild its housing ļ¬nance system, it is of paramount importance to understand what
caused the housing bubble. Until we understand how and why the housing bubble occurred, we cannot
be certain that a reconstructed housing ļ¬nance system will not again produce such a devastating
bubble. As you can see there are numerous theories and explanations for the bubble. Without getting

The Pros And Cons Of The Seventh Amendment
The ninth amendment is U.S. citizens are guaranteed their rights that are not listed on the Constitution,
such as the right to privacy. Some court cases that are tied with the ninth amendment is the Griswold
v. Connecticut (1965), Regents of the University of California v. Bakke (1978), City of Richmond v.
J.A. Orson Co (1989), Boy Scouts of America v. Dale (2000), and Grutter v. Bollinger.
Griswold v. Connecticut was argued on March 28 29, 1965 and the decision of the Supreme Court was
decided on June 7, 1965. It was questioned whether or not the Constitution protected the rights of
marital privacy (limits government intrusion into private family matters) against restrictions for a
couple to receive counseling on using contraceptives. Mrs. Griswold had given counseling to a
married couple that had wanted to use birth control and it was against Connecticut law to do so. The
Supreme Court s ruling was that married couples have the right to privacy and the law was declared
unconstitutional as it violated the right of privacy. Married couples have the right to private privacy.
The Regents of the University of California v. Bakke was argued on October 12, 1977 and decision of
the Supreme Court was decided on June 26, 1978. It was questioned if the University of California
violated the Equal Protection Clause and the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by having an affirmative action
policy that led to repeated rejection of Bakke s application for admission to UC medical school at
Davis.

Agamemnon And Achilles Essay
You Reap What You Sow: Honor Received from Hard Work as a Value of the Heroic Outlook on Life
in Homer s The Iliad
The Iliad, by Homer, is an epic poem set in the era of the Trojan War, accounting the battle logs during
the time of conflict between Agamemnon and Achilles, the text s tragic protagonist. The heroic
outlook on life, in Iliadic terms, is exemplified through the construction of one s honor through hard
work. Being an aspect of the heroic outlook of life, this value is demonstrated through his contribution
and dedication to the Trojan War, his experience with neglect from the deities, Achilles overall disdain
towards Agamemnon, and, lastly, his longingness towards Briseis, his dear lover.
Honor can be demonstrated as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason why Achilles honor is determined by Zeus is because Achilles feels that since he has a
short lifespan, Zeus should give him honor to make his contributions during the war in a short period
of time worthwhile. However, Achilles is currently neglected by Zeus as the God of Gods gives the
Swift Runner nothing , after all his achievements made during the war, feeling mistreated and denied
of honor as the best of Achaeans , the hero of the Argives. This implies how Achilles, as a hero, values
his achievements and contributions as something worthy of honor, building blocks that constructs his
honor not only among men but also the gods. In short, having the deities blessing honor onto a hero is
a extravagant recognition to them, meaning that the hard work the hero puts in is greatly appreciated
and honored, even by the gods, therefore considered a heroic outlook on life.
Referring to the first claim once again, Achilles overall disdain towards Agamemnon shows how
unheroic characters tend to be the opposite, solidifying the idea that a hero should be contributing with
their hard work to gain honor. Achilles describes Agamemnon s contribution to the war to be minimal,
seeing the Lord of Men skulking behind the lines, /safe in his fast ships (Il.9.402 03; Fagles 262).
While Agamemnon s contribution is meek, he is the one who would take it all, /[parceling] out some
scraps but [keeping] the lion s share (Il.9.403 04; Fagles 262),

A New Hope Microwaves Essay
In the movie Star Wars A New Hope, Han Solo states, She ll make point five past Lightspeed (IMBD,
Quotes for Han Solo, 2015, para 49). This is referring to the speed of light. Microwaves are used for
heating foods quickly. Though, what most people don t use microwaves for is to measure to speed of
light with the help of electromagnetic waves.
Most people use microwaves everyday. A lot of people actually wonder how microwaves work. For
example, radio waves and radiation, microwaves use radio waves and radiation to heat foods (How
Microwave Cooking Works, 2015). Furthermore, radio waves heat food by getting water molecules
out of food (How Cooking Works, 2015). In addition, the history of a microwave started off very
interesting. For instance, there was someone whose name was Dr.Percy Spencer, he accidently
discovered the microwave (Clevenger 2015). More importantly, Dr.Percy had a chocolate bar in his
pocket, he was testing a new vacuum and then the radiation and heat from the vacuum melted the
chocolate (Clevenger, 2015). In the end, microwaves are something that is very useful ... Show more

Moreover, The speed of light is faster than everything that exists. For instance, Light can move at the
speed of 186,000 miles per second, the speed of light is also faster than the speed of sound (How fast
is the speed of light, Para 1, 2015). For a while in the 1500s and the 1600s, scientists were trying to
figure how to measure the speed of light. Of course, many different scientists like Galileo tried to do
experiments on this, but they never turned out to work(A Case of History in Astronomy and Physics,
The Speed of Light, para 9, 10, 11). Although, in 1676 a man named Ole Roemer measured the speed
of light, Ole Roemer explained, that the speed of light is too much to measure (A Case of History in
Astronomy and Physics, The Speed of Light, para 9, 10, 11). Finally, the speed of light is the fastest

As we walked to the field he asked about my experience playing the game. So as we walked I told him
everything I had done in the sport and all of my accomplishments. He was impressed being at such a
young age not receiving or getting the opportunities to achieve what I had achieved. Neither of his
parents had played baseball. His father had played cricket and tennis and his mom ran track. Finally
we arrived at the baseball field, Kyle eager to learn about the sport. The grass looked beautifully rich
and the sun gleamed on the field.
First I taught him how to catch and throw the ball, which he picked up surprisingly very quick. He had

Community College Is A Little Out Of Place
One question that I am often asked after introducing myself is but why are you here though? For many
people that I ve talked to, the thought of a Wisconsinite moving to Michigan for community college

One possible beginning stems from my time spend at our said family cabin in the Northwoods of
Wisconsin. Where I could be found spending time reading an atlas for fun as the calming sounds of
crickets, and loons echoed in the distance. Besides my academic interests, many of my hobbies also
came into being there. Whether that be in the form of ukulele playing, reading, photography, or one of
my personal favorites trying new foods (especially of the ethnic variety), they all exist thanks in part
to America s dairyland. My passion for photography, for example, all began one summer day three
years ago when I picked up my Dad s Nikon camera, and began taking pictures as I hiked through our
forty acre property. This is a passion that continues to this day, and one that I am excited to pursue
more while I am here in Michigan. Which brings me to another part of my story, the move here itself.
My Dad was originally from the Jackson area, and for the longest time I had absolutely no idea where
that even was (well besides a rough geographical area from a finger pointing on to a spot on his palm.)
While I lived in Wisconsin, we barely had time to visit Michigan. Often times only visiting once every
few years, usually around easter. Before the move I barely even knew my relatives in Jackson, besides
the correspondence of a birthday letter, or the occasional phone call. This all changed, however, one

Renewable Energy Sources For Fossil Fuels
We live in a world where we have to rely on resources such as fossil fuels in order to provide us
energy. Almost everything we use nowadays consumes power in some form, and in tandem we rely on
energy. Fossil fuels have become the go to resource for providing power. Fossil fuels include natural
resources such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas. These fossil fuels fall under the non renewable
category because they take thousands of years in order to form naturally and cannot be replaced as fast
as they are being consumed. Another non renewable energy source is nuclear fuel, which is primarily
obtained through the mining and refining of uranium ore. But how could we have used energy in the
past without the use of fossil fuels? The answer is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While fossil fuels are widely used there is still the fear that we will eventually run out of fossil fuels to
power our civilizations. Without these fuels we could not be able to power everything that needs
power. In addition, the use of fossil fuels raises serious environmental concerns. The burning of fossil
fuels produces around 21.3 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide per year and natural processes can only
absorb about half that amount. Because nature can t absorb every bit of carbon dioxide being released
there is a net increase in the amount of atmospheric carbon dioxide. This is dangerous because carbon
dioxide is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases increase the temperature of the Earth by trapping heat
inside our atmosphere. This keeps the temperature higher than if we were only being heated directly
by the sun. Because the Earth is hotter this speeds up global warming, which will cause problems.
On the other hand there is renewable energy. Renewable energy is defined as any naturally occurring,
theoretically inexhaustible source of energy such as biomass, solar, wind, tidal, wave, and
hydroelectric power, that is not derived from fossil or nuclear fuel. Renewable energy contributes
around 14% of global generation of energy. Renewable energy is important and useful because some
sources are clean and both reusable, but there are many different sources for

Gitlin media frame helps the journalist in recognition, interpretation, and dissemination of the

Decade Of The Brain Essay
The human brain has been largely a topic of discussion in recent decades, so much so that the 1990s
became known as the Decade of the Brain . This is due to the extensive amount of research able to be
conducted due to advancing technology; however there still remains debate on many aspects of
thought, cognition, and overall consciousness that we see as being alive and human. Though many
answers remain shrouded in mystery, scientists are able to deduce one piece of important information:
neurotransmitters play a vital role in emotions and mood felt from person to person. These chemicals,
when put blatantly, are responsible for how we feel and think on a daily basis. Essentially these
neurotransmitters define who we are as individuals because they give the ability to feel and react. This
process is not always a perfect science at times though, and as researchers are finding out, that these
immensely important chemicals can also cause harm alongside all the benefits they bring to a person s
process of thought.

consists of parts of two countries the provinces of Papua and West Papua of Indonesia on the west end
of the island, and Papua New Guinea which is located on the east end of the island. The inhabitants of
New Guinea speak more than 800 different languages, which makes New Guinea a very diverse island
(Kleiner 1106).
Melanesian societies are democratic and the political power exists in the elder men, and in some areas
elder women. The elders handle the people s affairs. In some areas, persons of distinction known as
Big Men , who are known for their political, economic, and historically, warrior skills, have been
given the power. The idea ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The praying mantis resembles a headhunter because when mating the female praying mantis consumes
the head of the male during mating. The spiral pattern on top of the bisj pole can be related to the tusk
of a boar (Kleiner 1107) (Headhunting, Clark U).
The Iatmul live along the middle Sepik River, which is located in Papua New Guinea. Their
communities are based on kinship. The social center of the Iatmul village is a very large saddle shaped
men s ceremonial house. The men s house is the center of Iatmul life. The shape of the roof is like a
saddle and this symbolizes the protective mantle of ancestors. The house is used for many things that
reinforce kinship links such as a locale for the initiation of local youths, a discussion area for
community issues, and ceremonies that are linked to the ancestors. Only men can advance in the
Iatmul society. This meant that women and uninitiated boys could not enter the men s house. The men
could control all of the power and access all the knowledge they wanted. Men s houses are a popular
structure in New Guinea, but the ones of the Iatmul are the most important. The house represents a
female ancestor, with the facade representing her face and the rest of the house her body. The interior
carvings are hidden

The story revolves around SAN ANTONIO, A grandson of Mexican immigrants, and a former mayor
of this town, Henry G. Cisneros has spent years trying to make the dream of homeownership come
true for low income families. Capitalizing on a housing expansion he helped set free, he joined the
boards of a major builder, KB Home, and the largest mortgage lender in the nation. For the three years
he was a director at KB Home, Mr. Cisneros says his mistake was not the greed that afflicted many of
his counterparts in banking and housing; it was unwavering belief. Cisneros, there were small and big
changes at HUD, an agency that greased the mortgage wheel for first time buyers by insuring billions

A True American Crime Story GoodFellas
When talking about a true American crime story, one can start and end the discussion with one of the
most powerful and influential true stories ever told: GoodFellas. Based on the incredible true story, the
film follows the rise and fall of Lucchese crime family associates Henry Hill and his friends
throughout the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 1980s. Originally written as the non fiction novel Wise Guys by

Billy Batts, of the Gambino Family, is a respected gangster around New York whom most people
know. With a lot of Batts men at the bar, and a heavy dose of liquid courage, he sees Tommy DeVito
(Pesci) and begins to bust his balls about his early days as a youth coming up in the crime scene.
Tommy does not take to kindly to Batts words and the two get into a small confrontation but Batts
apologizes, not realizing Tommy would overreact. The apology, however, was a barren one at best as
he retaliates and insults Tommy again for being a shoeshine boy in his younger days. The two need to
be separated and Tommy leaves the bar. Near closing time, with the bar empty, Tommy enters again
and, with the help of Jimmy (De Niro), they brutally beat Batts, almost to death. The problem with
this was that Batts was a Made Man, meaning that he could not be touched without the consent of his
Gambino family bosses. Jimmy, Henry, and Tommy all realize that this was an offense that could get
them all killed and they must cover up the murder. They transport the body in the trunk of Henry s car
and plan to bury it upstate late at night. However, Batts regains consciousness in the trunk and begins
to bang the car, forcing Henry to pull over. They open the trunk and Tommy brutally stabs Batts
several times; Jimmy then shoots him numerous times, finally killing him. It is

A Successful Training Plan for Landslide Limousine Company
Introduction The purpose of this report is to communicate a successful training plan to Bradley
Stonefiled for his Landslide Limousine company. The report will contain three sections in the main
body: Needs Assessment, Training Methods and Evaluation Strategies. This report will contain all the
necessary information to put this company on the right track and begin enjoying a competitive
advantage once implemented and running at full capacity.
Needs Assessment Before any training begins, it is absolutely necessary that the problems are
identified so as to create a plan that specifically addresses these needs. Blindly training people on
random tasks does nothing to accomplish any mission. Only when focus and precise training is
applied in the correct area, will the organization begin to grow into something stronger. Brown (2002)
wrote to identify specific problem areas in the organization, HR and management must know what the
problems are so that the most appropriate training will be directed to those organizational problems,
(p.569.). The needs assessment portion of this training plan is further divided into five different areas
of interest. These include: Environmental analysis, organization analysis, demographical analysis,
operational analysis and individual analysis. Each part is important, and when combined, present a
comprehensive view of what is needed at Landslide.
Environment
The first place to look for a need to change is in the environment. This

Bat Mitzvah Ceremony
People like to think that a Bat Mitzvah is just a huge party. But it is quite the opposite and has so much
more to it. It is a time of celebration, of a girl becoming a woman in the eyes of her community. This
event has much symbolic importance and all the traditional foods, rituals, and costumes all have an
important meaning behind them. Firstly, Bat Mitzvah (daughter of commandant) have a great history.
The modern Jews wanted to start marking the event when a girl become a woman. The Bar Mitzvah
ceremony, designed for men, was a model for the Bat Mitzvah. The very first Bat Mitzvah took place
in The United States in 1922 when Rabbi Moroder Gail Kaplan, the founder of Reconstructionism (it

Another ritual can found at the Bat Mitzvah party when the candle lighting takes place. This is when
the girls would have family member who come and light a candle on the cake and she would give a
short speech on the family member she called up. The first candle is dedicated to the dead family
members. During the Hora (being hoisted up in a chair) all of the guest will get up and starts dancing
around the girl (What Happens At a Bar Mitzvah Party?). The music that will be played during the
Hora is Hava Nagila. The purpose of this dances is to honor the Bat Mitzvah (Kaplan). When
attending a Bat Mitzvah at a synagogue, if a person is a man, he must put on a yarmulke ( the skullcap
worn Conservative Jewish males in the synagogue) because it is traditional to do as such in a
synagogue. If the men does not have one, there will be some for him at the synagogue. It is trationa to

Mrs Sommers And Kate Chopin Comparative Essay
First of all, John Steinbeck, Kari Strutt as well as Kate Chopin succeeds to create an ideal main
character in each short story. They were invented to be linked with the feminism perception. These
fictional women struggle, as the feminists of the time struggled, to escape the discrimination. When
we analyze closely, the lives of these ladies represent the reality of the pass.
For example in Chopin s short story, A Pair of Silk Stocking, Mrs. Sommers is a wife and mother
struggling with the inequality in the society. She tries to live by the community principle, where she
has to be a selfless person. That is the way women were suppose to act. Their children and husband
were the priority. Their needs and desires weren t taken in consideration. Mrs. Sommers felt like she
had no value. At a certain point of her life, she received an enormous amount of money. As a mother,
she plans to spend the cash on her family. Instead, Mrs. Sommers indulges herself with material such
as shoes and gloves. All of this brought her a feeling of importance such as she had not enjoyed for
years. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even if these short stories are published in different time, the development of the main character is
similar. They go trough the comparable problem. The men in their lives put them down. In the life of
Kari, her father and her husband abandon her. Indeed, her father doesn t show up to her wedding.
These actions bring sadness to this young lady. She [feels] lonely and afraid. Later, Kari s husband
cheats on her, which is really unfortunate. These men mistreat her. They don t take this woman in
consideration. Kari gets fed up with the situation, and divorced Ian s father . This is an option that
Mrs. Sommers and Elisa didn t have in their time. It is necessary to note that Kari is a character
created in a different era. Women fought and gain a little bit of power. That is the reason why Strutt s
character can

Book Review Of White Fang By Jack London
For my first quarter project I have read the book White Fang. The book White Fang was written by
Jack London. Jack London wrote some of the most extraordinary works of fiction. White Fang is an
outstanding example. I now know why White Fang is considered a literary classic. White Fang
transports you to a completely different time and place. The setting of a book is key to the plot of a
story. The story is set in Canada. More specifically the Northwest Territories and around Fort Yukon. It
takes place during the 1890 s Gold Rush. Towards the end of the story Sierra Vista, California,
becomes part of the setting. White Fang is written in a third person point of view. Protagonists and
antagonist are the main part of the story. If you didn t have these types of characters the conflict may
not be as interesting. The main protagonist is a once wild wolf dog named White Fang. White Fang
goes through major changes and hardships through the story. Kiche was part of the pack that killed
Bill. She is known as the she wolf and she is White Fang s mother. She also left her owner but then is
found by her old owner s brother. One Eye is part of the pack with Kiche. He is White Fang s father.
He was killed by a lynx after trying to steal food from it. Weedon Scott then buys White Fang and is
his final owner. Collie is a dog that becomes White Fang s mate. Judge Scott is Weedon Scott s father.
Bill and Henry are two characters that help jump start the story. They are mushers who are

The Drought Stricken Stateā€™S Climate Leaves Itsā€™ Water
The drought stricken State s climate leaves its water supply to be volatile and unpredictable, creating a
hash reality for all demanders of the scarce resource. In the worst of times California s climate is
destructive to the wellbeing of not only Californian s quality of life, but the surrounding ecosystems.
With unseasonably higher temperatures presenting issues farther into the future, in Adapting
California s water management to climate change , the authors Ellen Hanak and Jay Lund provide an
overview of the effects California s climate has during times of drought, and the complications it
presents for the State s water management. Water management in the state oversee a plethora of
concerns; properly planning supply and delivery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Delta is the lifeblood of California s water supply system, but when sea levels rise more and more
of the levee system that blockades the salt and fresh water erodes, it leads to what is known as
seawater intrusion. More simply, the contamination of freshwater by its salty counterpart. This process
happens at varying rates, disrupting the water supply at a snail s pace or more in abundance, leaving a
rippling effect to be felt for months, or even years. Climates effects on snowpack levels is far more
measurable, where warming temperatures lead to higher levels of winter runoff. Thus depleting the
snowpack earlier in the year, and leaving less for the spring and summer months to follow. Inversely,
the average precipitations effects on the water supply are less measurable, due to the inability to
correctly asses the amount of total runoff derived from precipitations role as the catalyst of the melting
process. Measurements of this kind must be more than just an estimate, Hanak and Lund cite that It is
likely to be decades before we know if and by how much precipitation and runoff volumes are
changing (pg 20). But precipitations effects on snowpack volume must remain relevant, the effects of
reduced runoff due to decreased precipitation appear to be much more important than

Case: WiiĀ“s Success
CASE ONE: NINTENDO WII S SUCCESS

the innate and acquired needs.
Innate needs are biogenic or physiological needs which refer to needs such as air, food water, shelter,

as psychological or psychogenic needs i.e. affection, power, learning, prestige and self esteem.

Tyco Scandal Essay
Part 1 Facts of the Case
Prior to the Tyco scandal, the company was one of America s largest conglomerates, with operating
revenues of 38 billion dollars and 240,000 employees, worldwide. Tyco Laboratories began operations
in 1960, performing experimental work for the U.S. government. The firm went public in 1964 and
quickly expanded, mostly by acquisition, to exploit the commercial applications of its work. Dennis
Kozlowski joined the company in 1975 as an assistant controller. The company subsequently shifted
its focus from growth to profits within its three primary divisions: fire protection, electronics, and
packaging. Kozlowski joined Tyco s board in 1987 and became president and chief operating officer
two years later. Kozlowski ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The remainder of the 250 top managers resigned shortly after.
C. How was the scandal uncovered and by whom?
The situation began to unfold when the Securities and Exchange Commission was probing into a
restatement of the company s stock price. Kozlowski s business practices raised some eyebrows. In
1999, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) initiated an inquiry into Tyco s practices that
resulted in a restatement of the company s earnings. In January, 2002, questionable accounting
practices came to light. Tyco had forgiven a $19 million, no interest loan to Kozlowski in 1998 and
had paid the CEO s income taxes on the loan. It was found that he company s stock price had been
overrated, and that the CEO and CFO had sold 100 million dollars worth of shares, and then stated to
the public that he was holding them, which was a misrepresentation and misled the investors.
The major conspiracy was uncovered by Manhattan District Attorney, Robert Morgenthau, who was
investigating Kozlowski for income tax evasion for some fine art work that he had purchased. As
Morgenthau kept digging into the record keeping of Tyco and Kozlowski, it was determined that there
were other situations that had occurred, such as a 10 million dollar loan that was totally forgiven by
Tyco, and all interest was billed to the corporation. It became apparent on January

The Pros And Cons Of Net Neutrality
We all know the Internet, and use it in daily basis like entertainment and work, and many other types
of usage for the Internet, and we use it freely with almost no boundaries that s what s called Net
Neutrality
. The F.C.C. (Federal Communication Commission) is trying to take that freedom away from all users
and consumers in the United States by limiting accessibility, and speed for all type of consumers of
the
Internet by repealing the Net Neutrality which will allow the ISPs (Internet Service Provider) to have
more control over the Internet usage of the consumers. According to the chairman of the F.C.C. Ajit
Pai a former lawyer for Verizon, that repealing Net Neutrality will increase the ISP s profit and
improve the service quality they provide for the consumers. A lot of people showed their disagreement
over the issue, and followed by many disappointment and disapproval of big characters, companies
and websites. While ISPs are regulated right now to treat everyone equally and fairly, Trump s
administration and the F.C.C. s goal is to repeal the Net Neutrality, and give control of the Internet to
the ISPs in the U.S., even though the consumers do not support the repeal and protested against it for
various reasons, but the F.C.C. still want to give the ISPs control of the Internet to increase their
income, and have more privileges over the Internet.
Many people are not aware of what s going to happen after the repeal of Net Neutrality, and

  • 2. The Living Dead The introduction of zombies into this world has led many people to want to know about their appearance, behavior, and weaknesses. Zombies are one of the most well known creatures in the world today. Many people believe they are just a myth, but others have concluded that they are real. Fiction or not, zombies are interesting enough to make people want to learn more about them. The belief in zombies originated in the Haitian culture. The Haitians strongly believed in witchcraft and Voodoo magic. They assumed that priests called bokors could turn a person into a zombie with a powder containing a deadly poison. Several people would hire bokors to turn a person into a zombie if they did not like him ( Zombies ). Bokors often turned the deceased into zombies if the person broke a law during his lifetime. Zombies were also created for slavery. Being turned into a zombie was considered a harsh punishment to receive. Although the Haitians concluded that zombies were real, many other countries suspected that zombies were just a myth (Radford). Although zombies are formed from dead humans, they have hardly any similarities in appearance. A zombie s face consists of the same characteristics as a human s, but a zombie s skin has become ruined due to decomposition. Their eyes appear to be much different once they have become a zombie. Their pupils are shaded white. Zombies are also different from humans in the way they maneuver. While humans normally move very easily, zombies have a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Britney Spears Cultural Perspective As a thirty five year old, Caucasian female, Britney came from an unstable home life. Britney Spears experienced major successes in her life, but went through some major losses. As a group, we are analyzing the period in Spears s life that she seemed to break away from social norms and had odd behaviors: such as alcohol abuse, drug abuse, vulgar public actions, and changes to her appearance. We intend to approach this period in her life with a sociocultural perspective in order to get to the root of her spiral and how she came back on top. The sociocultural perspective focuses on the impact of social and cultural context on an individual. The theory stresses the interaction between developing people and the culture in which they live. The main founder and contributor to the sociocultural perspective was Lev Vygotsky. This theory suggests that human development is largely involved with social process ( Contemporary Psychology: Sociocultural Perspective, n.d.). That can produce variation or proliferation without any seemingly significant changes in complexity. Through time, producing a form of structure can be qualitatively different from the ancestral form. For example, a person who grew up kissing each other goodbye will most likely pass that onto their children. The environment that Spears has experienced directly affected her rambunctious actions. In her childhood, she grew up in a dysfunctional and disordered family due to the alcoholic rages of her father. From ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Into The Mystic By Van Morrison My Place of Solitude Van Morrison in his song Into the Mystic quotes Hark, now hear the sailors cry, smell the sea, and feel the sky let your soul and spirit fly, into the mystic. These lyrics are strong for people who love the beach or sea. I love the beach, and everything about it. My place of solitude is the beach because of the sand, water, and the surroundings. The first thing I love about the beach is the sand. The sand is different for many people, how it feels, smells, and sounds. To me, the sand feels very soft when walking on it, sometimes really hot. It smells a little like salt with a pinch of seaweed. That squeaky sound the sand makes when you walk on it, is so funny to me. What I love about the sand the most, is watching ... Scouting has been very important to me over the past 7 years. The structure of Boy Scouts being primarily boy led, allows each scout to take initiative and lead their peers through different scenarios and work together to make tough decisions. Each individual is responsible for their own advancement; nobody spoon feeds the information to you. Over the past 7 years, I have progressed to the rank of Life Scout and have begun the last step to achieving the highest rank in Boy Scouts; the rank of Eagle Scout. Of Computer Engg, Punjabi University Email: nsharma2104@gmail.com **Asstt. Professor, Deptt. Of Computer Engg, Punjabi University, Patiala Email: deepgaurav48@gmail.com Abstract: Steganography is a kind of secret communication method used to hide secret data in some digital media such as images, audio etc. Cryptography and watermarking are other similar techniques. Data is secured using these methods, but the fact that data is present somewhere gives us a specific target, whereas sole purpose of steganography is that none must know there is some hidden data in the file. So, steganography easily has upper hand over cryptography and watermarking. Steganography can use almost all kinds of media present over internet to transmit secret data. In this paper, we review some audio steganography techniques, their algorithms and some challenges faced in their design and implementation. We will look in detail some modified techniques for audio steganography. Also, we look at the problems faced with using mp3 files as cover media. Introduction Steganography is the science of hiding information so that it remains undetected except by its intended receiver. Need of steganography arises when one needs to communicate privately and he cannot risk to arouse the suspicion by sending encrypted message in plain sight. The Importance Of Physical Activity And Its Emphasis Anish Narayana KIN 240 01 Professor Curran April 12, 2016 The Importance Physical Activity and its Emphasis in schools Our lives are very busy with many activities to the point where we neglect our health. Over time the neglect results in various diseases and illnesses. In order to avoid this from happening, we need to make physical activity part of our lifestyle from an early age. Physical activity has many benefits while many young people of the future are still in school. According to the CDC, Center for Disease Control regular physical activity helps build strong muscles. (CDC) It helps reduce the chance of obesity and other diseases and helps improve an individual s mood and overall wellbeing (CDC Physical Activity Facts). Most students get their physical activity through school PE classes. These types of exercise are done for a short time and not enough for the recommended 30 to 45 minutes for most students according to the CDC. (CDC) Physical Activity is an essential part of our lives and should be part of everyone s daily routine. During my research I found many surprising facts on the benefits of physical activity. • 8. Lamb To The Slaughter By Roald Dahl In Roald Dahl s, Lamb to the Slaughter, Dahl resembles the theme of the story to show the couples deception. Dahl shows it by having the husbands desire to leave in an unsystematic way. It shows dishonor and betrayal to the wife since she was 6 months pregnant and the only thing keeping her happy was having a husband to take care of. Mary was the housewife, and Patrick was the husband. Mary was always prepared with meals and comfort once Patrick got home from work. They both had to do very little just to keep a smile on both of their faces, at least a fake smile. Patrick displayed ignorance once he came home one evening, then mentioning how he wants to leave her. As you could imagine the amount of shock Mary had in her, lead her to the decision she made by the end of the story. Mary was very happy in life, she had a husband who she loved, a baby on the way, she thought to herself what could possibly go wrong? Little does she know, when her husband walks in the door, he s going to demand a divorce. When Patricks comes home, he gets his normal greeting and his wife s condolence. Except, he was giving off a negative energy which Mary did notice. He seemed very stressed, tired, and Mary was trying to help him and do everything possible to make him happy as she watches him pound his whiskey in one sip. • 9. Solar Power Vs. Wind Power Have you ever thought about green energy? Well if you have, I am sure that you have heard of solar power and wind power. There are also other forms of green energy, but they are not used as much as solar or wind power, but solar vs, wind power is one the most debated topics in green energy. This topic is controversial because the world is beginning to switch to renewable green energy and people and politicians are debating which energy source they should use. Solar power is a better option than wind power. There are many reasons why solar power is better than wind power. One of the reasons is that solar panels take less maintenance than wind turbines. Standard warranties normally last 25 years; and this includes any repairs and damages that could occur to the solar panel. An example of this is if a tree were to fall onto a group of solar panels from a storm and it was within the 25 year warranty, then the company that made the solar panel would come and repair or replace the broken or damaged panels. Wind turbines have shorter warranties from the manufacturers, and this should make people less certain of their reliability. The solar panel companies also have a guarantee that a solar panel s efficiency won t drop below a certain percentage over its lifespan, this percentage is normally in the range of 85 90% efficiency. Also, solar panels are made of tempered glass which is made to withstand hail and other damaging weather. Solar panels don t have any moving parts like a wind ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Housing Bubble According to Wikipedia a housing bubble is a type of economic bubble that occurs periodically in local or global real estate markets. It is characterized by rapid increases in valuations of real property such as housing until they reach unsustainable levels and then decline. Four years into the housing bubble downturn, much of the country remains hopelessly confused about what happened, why it happened and who is to blame. In my research paper I will try and demonstrate what a housing bubble is, some of the reasons for the bubble, was it preventable, how it kept growing, how it burst and how it has affected our economy. By definition a housing bubble is a temporary condition caused by unjustified speculation in the housing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other scholars have emphasized the sharp deterioration in lending standards as contributing to the rise in housing prices as well as the importance of changes to the mortgage market institutional structure. Other explanations of the bubble have been demand side explanations, meaning that the bubble was caused by excessive consumer demand for housing. One leading explanation argues that the bubble was the result of irrational demand encouraged by a belief that housing prices could only move upwards. Other research points to the fundamentals of housing markets, particularly population growth, placing upward pressures on housing prices in markets with inelastic housing supply, thereby explaining some of the geographic variation in the housing bubble. None of these explanations, however, is capable of fully explaining the housing bubble. From 1997 to 2006 nominal U.S. housing prices rose 188%. By mid 2009, however, housing prices had fallen by 33% from peak. As the United States attempts to rebuild its housing ļ¬nance system, it is of paramount importance to understand what caused the housing bubble. Until we understand how and why the housing bubble occurred, we cannot be certain that a reconstructed housing ļ¬nance system will not again produce such a devastating bubble. As you can see there are numerous theories and explanations for the bubble. Without getting too deep ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. Agamemnon And Achilles Essay You Reap What You Sow: Honor Received from Hard Work as a Value of the Heroic Outlook on Life in Homer s The Iliad The Iliad, by Homer, is an epic poem set in the era of the Trojan War, accounting the battle logs during the time of conflict between Agamemnon and Achilles, the text s tragic protagonist. The heroic outlook on life, in Iliadic terms, is exemplified through the construction of one s honor through hard work. Being an aspect of the heroic outlook of life, this value is demonstrated through his contribution and dedication to the Trojan War, his experience with neglect from the deities, Achilles overall disdain towards Agamemnon, and, lastly, his longingness towards Briseis, his dear lover. Honor can be demonstrated as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason why Achilles honor is determined by Zeus is because Achilles feels that since he has a short lifespan, Zeus should give him honor to make his contributions during the war in a short period of time worthwhile. However, Achilles is currently neglected by Zeus as the God of Gods gives the Swift Runner nothing , after all his achievements made during the war, feeling mistreated and denied of honor as the best of Achaeans , the hero of the Argives. This implies how Achilles, as a hero, values his achievements and contributions as something worthy of honor, building blocks that constructs his honor not only among men but also the gods. In short, having the deities blessing honor onto a hero is a extravagant recognition to them, meaning that the hard work the hero puts in is greatly appreciated and honored, even by the gods, therefore considered a heroic outlook on life. Referring to the first claim once again, Achilles overall disdain towards Agamemnon shows how unheroic characters tend to be the opposite, solidifying the idea that a hero should be contributing with their hard work to gain honor. Achilles describes Agamemnon s contribution to the war to be minimal, seeing the Lord of Men skulking behind the lines, /safe in his fast ships (Il.9.402 03; Fagles 262). • 17. Renewable Energy Sources For Fossil Fuels We live in a world where we have to rely on resources such as fossil fuels in order to provide us energy. Almost everything we use nowadays consumes power in some form, and in tandem we rely on energy. Fossil fuels have become the go to resource for providing power. Fossil fuels include natural resources such as coal, petroleum, and natural gas. These fossil fuels fall under the non renewable category because they take thousands of years in order to form naturally and cannot be replaced as fast as they are being consumed. Another non renewable energy source is nuclear fuel, which is primarily obtained through the mining and refining of uranium ore. But how could we have used energy in the past without the use of fossil fuels? The answer is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While fossil fuels are widely used there is still the fear that we will eventually run out of fossil fuels to power our civilizations. Without these fuels we could not be able to power everything that needs power. In addition, the use of fossil fuels raises serious environmental concerns. The burning of fossil fuels produces around 21.3 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide per year and natural processes can only absorb about half that amount. Because nature can t absorb every bit of carbon dioxide being released there is a net increase in the amount of atmospheric carbon dioxide. This is dangerous because carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases increase the temperature of the Earth by trapping heat inside our atmosphere. This keeps the temperature higher than if we were only being heated directly by the sun. Because the Earth is hotter this speeds up global warming, which will cause problems. On the other hand there is renewable energy. Renewable energy is defined as any naturally occurring, theoretically inexhaustible source of energy such as biomass, solar, wind, tidal, wave, and hydroelectric power, that is not derived from fossil or nuclear fuel.
