A Personal Review Of Eating Red Lobster
Now moving on to the middle drawer. This drawer consists of meats such as; chicken,
hamburgers, hot dogs, pork, turkey, ham, bacon also as well as seafood such as grab legs and
shrimp. My favorite out of all of the meat is the seafood. This is my favorite because I have
grown up eating Red Lobster and learned to love crab legs. When traveling its unique to see how
everyone s seafood differs. Seafood is huge in our culture, especially in places near the coastline.
Almost everywhere you go there will be options to choose from that are seafood related.
Last drawer to the top holds things such as cream cheese, sour cream, butter, and small things that
my mom adds to cook with her food. Not much in there is not my favorite, specifically cream
cheese. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hot sauce is always in my fridge! I put it in everything, and when I mean everything I put it on
anything that you can eat. One of my favorite foods to put it on is tator tots. Somedays when I
have had a bad day I just remember that I have tator tots in my fridge waiting for me to eat with
hot sauce. It usually fixes the problem. Ketchup and mustard is commonly used by our culture on
hotdogs, hamburgers, and chicken. Something strange I put ketchup on is noodles. Its
surprisingly good. Last but not least is ranch. Ranch is overused in our family as I m sure it is in
many others. My siblings will eat anything involving potatoes with ranch. Eating ranch with
potatoes and salads are becoming more common in our way of life. Growing up I feel like it wasn t
as popular but now it s used on so many different

Current Career Status Analysis
Current Career Status. Currently, I unemployed but accepted in a fast food restaurant. I have
applied to many different restaurants and only one has accepted my application. I have not worked
a shift yet but I will soon be able to work once a scheduled time for me to work is in place. I was
able to get the job because an odd friend from high schooland she was able to get me an interview at
Sonic Drive in here in Pocatello. I feel like I can do well in this institution because I have
experience from working at a fast foodjoint back in my hometown, Burley.
The only places a teenager like me can apply to is retail and fast food due to our lack of experience
and ignorance. My work experience consists of many years of gardening and lawn care services. I
would do a lot of gardening and flower care working at a greenhouse. I realized that I was not fit
for that job because that job would require me to do a lot of labor and being uncomfortable in
hot clothes. Another experience is working at Jack in the Box. I have training of every station
except shift leader and manager. I enjoyed the work because I was surrounded by people with
whom I would associate out of work as well.

go in this path. I get heated up and passionate about learing more and understanding about the
music. I get super hyper and when I talk I can figure out a simple rhythm I had trouble about.
Music connect the whole brain together when listening to a favorite genre. When I listen to
choirs or big bands I feel a sense of excitement just exploding in my head. Music just gets me

Video Games And Its Effects On The Classroom
As technology changes each generation, so does choice of pastime. The most notable one being
a kid s obsession with video games, spending hours glued to the monitor. Instead of fighting it,
educators around the nation are accepting and adopting the video game interest to their
classrooms. Many may argue that videogames are a distraction and are too violent, however, if
implemented in school systems the games used will be safe and focused around the core subject.
Otherwise, there are teachers out there that are interested in leveraging game for learning, they re
not alone. as the director of the academic and digital learning Lucas Gillispie says, It makes it
logical to implement video games to the class lesson as it provides a fun and effective way for
students to learn with. One of the most popular game amongst young children, Minecraft, have
already been implemented in many school systems nationwide. Minecraft is a digital lego like,
sandbox game, meaning that the player has complete freedom within that game world. Players
manipulate the world around them through, as the game name says, mining and crafting. The game
itself has an overwhelming amount of items mirror the real world with, giving Minecraft a high
educational value to the point that it has it s own educational variety, MinecraftEdu. According to
the T H E Journal s 4 Innovative Ways To Teach With Video Games , their use of Minecraft was
intentionally used as an after school program for at risk students.

Barry Bonds Research Paper
But to be the best, you must face the best. And to overcome your fear, you must deal with the
best. Barry Bonds was determined to be the best player in Major League Baseball, and with that
mindset, he has smashed multiple records. Bonds did not spend much time in the Minor League
before he was brought up, each season being a good season for the young Barry Bonds. He started
out in the minors, was brought up to the majors by the Pittsburgh Pirates, and was sent back
down again. He was brought up yet again by Pittsburgh, and spent the rest of his career in the
Major League. In his first Minor League season, he played 71 games, with 76 hits and 13 home
runs. Of his 76 hits, he drove in 37 runs, with an on base percentage of .383.

The Germ Theory
In the light of the germ theory...[d]jseases are to be considered as a struggle between the organism
and the parasites invading it. The aforementioned quote, by Henry Gandle, a professor of
physiology at Chicago Medical College, characterizes the germ theory through the collective human
struggle against disease inducing microorganisms. In a period of discovery, where the nature of
various germs and diseases were brought to light, the common conception encompassed a war
between humans and diseases; this analogy to a war implicates a united effort on the part of the
human race in battling these dangerous microorganisms. Tomes writes in The Gospel of Germs not
only of the different scientific discoveries associated with the emergent germ... Show more content

In the Southwood Smith excerpt, he depicts the ideal method of quarantine as influenced by neither
ancient prejudices, nor an excess of anxiety to avert possible danger, should induce the continuance
of restrictions inessential to their object. In other words, Southwood Smith acknowledges not only
the active societal biases, but also that these partialities can enter the medical realm through
prejudicial treatment of disease. A society with such prominent discrimination, including in those
with medical clout, has the capacity to formulate racial and class bias in germ theory that is but
an extension of already existing anxieties concerning other less well off members of society.
Rather than bringing people together in response to the fear of disease, quarantine had the capacity
to create a more segregated society praying on the middle and upper class fears of disease
spreading through the other, discriminated members of society. African Americans are among the
societal groups that lacked the societal cohesiveness Tomes attributes to the gospel of germs insofar
as they remained segregates and relatively uneducated on the new germ theories in comparison to
other members of society. In an

Jewish Resistance to the Holocaust Essay
Examining any issue pertaining to the Holocaust is accompanied with complexity and the
possibility of controversy. This is especially true in dealing with the topic of Jewish resistance to
the Holocaust. Historians are often divided on this complex issue, debating issues such as how
resistance is defined and, in accordance with that definition, how much resistance occurred.
According to Michael Marrus, the very term Jewish resistance suggests a point of view. Many
factors, both internal such as differences in opinion on when or what resistance was appropriate, as
well as external, such as the lack of arms with which to revolt, contributed to making resistance,
particularly armed resistance, extremely difficult. When considering acts... Show more content on

Unfortunately, it was very difficult to gauge when this point would come; the Germans were
inconsistent in when they carried out the executions, as some were killed immediately and others
were kept alive for a time. Understandably, many Jews inaccurately predicted the time before their
imminent deaths and therefore missed their chance at resistance. In addition to the living
conditions in the ghettos and camps, many differences in opinion led to hesitance to engage in
resistance, particularly armed resistance. There was a great deal of collective responsibility
involved with resistance some believed that to act out was to endanger everyone in the group.
Unfortunately, these worries were often founded in truth. In one instance, when a man protested
the death of his brother by calling the SS member a murder, he was removed to prison, where he
passed away; all of the other members of his group, who had witnessed the incident, were killed as
well. By punishing the entire group for the rebellion of one, the SS helped to ensure that others
would know the cost of resistance, and therefore be less inclined to resist themselves. Another
instance of the idea of collective responsibility was seen in the Vilna ghetto when fugitives escaped
the ghetto, their families, as well all of the Jewish

Notes on Max Weber s The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit...
There are a number of different modern social theories regarding the nature of society, social
change, human s place within society and the idea of how integration and alienation fit within a
modern society. These paradigms combine reflexively into a notion of history. Max Weber was a
German politician, scholar, economist, and sociologist. In fact, he founded the modern studies of
sociology, public administration, and organizational theory. He was born in 1864 and so was
writing and publishing after Marx, but still looking at capitalism, socialism, and the various dictates
of society as ways humans are shaped, actualized, and able to have upward mobility. He is most
famous for his works surrounding the sociology of religion and government, and how those two
institutions shaped, controlled, and contributed to humankind.
For Weber, the idea of rationalism rational thought based on societal efficiency and productivity,
runs through his works particularly The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism. In this
seminal work, Weber argues that the idea of Protestantism contributes to history and economics in
that piety and the chance for a better life after death cause humans to strive for economic gain in
certain ways, whereas that is not always using work as an expression of self it is work, as Marx
might say, for the ends justifying the means, rather than the means justifying what work is being
done. Authority, then, rather than being solely economic, does have at its

Animal Imagery in the Wars Essays
The abundant animal imagery in Timothy Findley s book The Wars is used to develop
characterization and theme. The protagonist, Robert Ross, has a deep connection with animals that
reflects his personality and the situations that he faces. This link between Robert and the animals
shows the reader that human nature is not much different than animal nature.
The animals in this story are closely related to the characters, especially the character of Robert.
Rodwell acknowledges Robert s close union with animals when he draws Robert in his sketchbook
as the only human form among sketches of animals (155). When Robert sees the drawing, he
notices that the shading [is] not quite human ; it is a combination of animal and human qualities, ...

Birds appear frequently throughout the story, especially in times of crisis. The birds often
present themselves as omens for dangers that lie ahead. For instance, when Robert s team takes
a wrong turn, the fog is full of noises of birds (80). Then the birds fly out of the ditch and
disappear. Robert and Poole know that [t]here must be something terribly wrong...but neither one
knew how to put it into words. The birds, being gone, had taken some mysterious presence with
them. There was an awful sense of void as if the world had been emptied (81). The birds return
and when Robert nears the collapsing dike, one of the birds [flies] up and cut[s] across Robert s
path as if it is trying to prevent him from going any further. Robert does not heed the warning and
almost dies in the sinking mud.
Another ominous bird appears when Robert and his crew are close to enemy lines. A bird sings
and Robert looks up to see the deadly gas easing towards them. He is able to react quickly and
save most of his crew. Soon after, the same bird sings again, one long note descending; three that

the man is reaching for a gun. Robert realizes that the German was only reaching for his
binoculars, even though there is a sniper rifle sitting right beside him. He wonders why the man did
not kill them all, and then he hears the bird sing once again, its song wavering on the

America s Mental Health System
Take a moment and think about those your care deeply for, those you would give your life for.
Now, imagine if he or she were sick, or in any other kind of trouble. What would you do to help
them? Go to the edge of the world and back, fight, not stopping for yourself until they were in
good health once more. Now imagine if you found a potential cure, or a solution, but it was held
away because a few people who had more money than you did not want it to be used. You have
seen and heard of this proponent being used in other countries and has had very promising
results, yet still those who claim they have power over you deny what you seek. The fact of the
matter is thousands of Americans suffer from some kind of mental illness, including my brother.
Whether it be chronic anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, bi polar, schizophrenia,
addiction, the list can go on. America has a botched mental health system, the main way we treat
people is by shoving pills down their throats, most that have little to no substantial effects, leaving
people still feeling empty. The pills rather just control or alleviate symptoms rather than
eradicating them completely, leaving people to have to take dose after dose daily to keep their
lives in check. This is a serious problem, for that many have or know some one who is suffering
from mental illness, and continue to see them suffer or believe they are just faking it. People,
including my brother, shouldn t just get by with their

The Role Of Racism In America
Since the devastating events that occurred in Charlottesville this weekend, I haven t been able to

sheer number of young American men and boys who have aligned themselves alongside White
Nationalists and Neo Nazis is disconcerting, to say the least. Many of the faces publicized on
social media outlets such as twitter, exposed that many of the young men in Charlottesville were
college students (some of which are presidents or leaders in their university s Republican Club.

Parasympathetic And Sympathetic Nervous System Analysis
INTRODUCTION
Within vertebrates, heart rate is established by the sinoatrial (SA) node of the heart. This is
achieved through a series of action potentials which drives excitation of cardiac muscles and
establishes a rhythmic pace (Fritz et al., 2011). However, there are numerous factors that can affect
the SA nodes impact on heart rate, which are primarily related to the autonomic nervous system.
The autonomic nervous system is responsible for the regulation of involuntary functions, and is
broken up into the parasympathetic (PSNS) and sympathetic nervous systems (SNS). The SNS is
most commonly referred to as an organism s fight or flight response, in which its activation is
generally in response to stress, and results in a preparation

Customer Loyalty in Retail Sector
Role of Customer Loyalty Programs in the Retailing Sector Executive Summary: Customer loyalty
schemes (or programs) are explicit efforts by the retailers in different formats to gain the long term
patronage from the customers. Loyalty schemes are designed and developed for variety of reasons:
to reward the loyal customers, to generate more information about the customer behaviour, buying
patterns. It also helps to influence consumer behaviour, and as defensive measure to combat a
competing scheme. The purpose of this study is to describe the objectives of the loyalty schemes,

A response from the customer to come back and repeatedly use the product or service is a
definite indicator of the customer to be loyal. Through loyalty programmes companies therefore
can track the behaviour of customer, and trends of his activities over a period of time. It can
lead to customer behaviour where customers can book earlier, stay longer, do vacationing more
often, and earn reward points for this behaviour with the brand. So loyalty programmes provide
an opportunity to learn about the customer s preferences, and expectations. Customers tend to be
loyal only when they can identify their values matching with those of the brand. This leads to
brand association from the customer s with the company s logo, brand. Eyeballs Buyers Loyalty
Action Performance Consideration Awareness There are five types of the consumer behaviour
which have been measured over particular period of time span: the percentage of consumers
buying a brand, number of purchases per buyer, the percentage who continue to buy the brand

Polygamous Loyalty: This is a theory which is for the stationary markets, customer loyalty is
divided into number of brands. The long run propensities to buy a particular brand for a customer

Gender Identity Disorder Research Paper
Gender identity disorder also referred to as gender variance, and in other cultures as two spirited,
can be described as the formal diagnosis that psychologists and physicians give to individuals who
experience reasonable gender dysphoria. Such individuals are not contented with the biological sex
that they possess and tend to strongly identify with the other sex. It is a psychiatric categorization
and describes characteristics that are linked to transgenderidentity, transvestism and transsexuality
and is the diagnostic categorization normally associated with transsexuals, or individuals who feel
they were born into the wrong physicality (Kenneth Bradley, 2002).
Gender identity disorder manifests itself differently in early pediatrics than in adolescents or adults,

adults is observed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

opposite sex and would rather be recognized in public as members of the opposite sex. Many
individuals who are affected by gender identity disorder request for sexual reassignment surgery, or
more commonly referred to as a sex change operation (Kenneth Bradley, 2002).
Prevalence
The disorder normally affects more males than females in society. According to WebMD, in
Europe, there are 1 in 30,000 males and 1 in 100,000 females who are diagnosed with gender
identity disorder (WebMD Prevalence, 2006). Sometimes G.I.D. is mistaken with accompanied by
transvestic fetishism, which is, could be seen in heterosexual males accompanied with intense
sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors which involve cross dressing
(DSMIVp.258 59). The disorder can be noted in early children but many people are diagnosed of
the problem at adolescence (Maccoby Jacklin, 1974).

Jim Heynen s What Happened During The Ice Storm
Janaya Prout
Quick and Calm
Jim Heynen describes, How beautiful! People said when things outside started to shine with ice.
But the freezing rain kept coming. The story, What Happened During the Ice Storm by Jim
Heynen, is about farm boys going to collect pheasants in the middle of a raging ice storm. Every
animal was safe except for the pheasants. They were frozen in place along the fence and could not
see anything through the ice. After a careful analysis of the story, the reader can understand the
theme, how people act in challenging situations, and human nature through imagery, diction, and
figurative language.
Heynen uses a lot of imagery throughout his story so people can visualize how the storm is
affecting the farm boys in the situation. The narrator explains, Things around them were shining
and dripping with icy rain (Heynen). The icy rain makes it more difficult to concentrate on how
to handle the situation. Upon their arrival to the fence, the boys can see how the storm has taken
a toll on the birds. The narrator states, Some of them lifted their heads and turned them from side
to side, but they were blindfolded with ice and didn t flush (Heynen). The birds could not see
anything due to ice covering their eyes. The pheasants were covered in a sheet of ice. As the reader
can see, the conditions of the ice storm affected not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The author could have easily used plain words to tell the story, but he did not. To describe the
storm, Heynen uses the word splintering. Most people know that splinters sometime hurt. This
gives the illusion that the ice was hitting them in little sharp pieces. Heynen also uses gelatin
whites. Gelatin means translucent so Heynen says that it is see through whites. Last, he uses
clinging to show how the ice is sticking to their skin and is not coming off. As a result, Heynen
uses interesting word choice to describe certain parts of the

Cleopatra s name has been immortalized , according to most, in history. Cleopatra VII Philopator

a charming, cunning personality, she molded herself into a threat and an icon. She left a mark in
history not only by being the last ruler of Egypt. However Cleopatra was famous for her epic love
story. She was sexually accomplished, is this what sets her apart from other queens or was her

Queen Cleopatra never had any intention of ruling with her brother and husband Ptolemy XIII.
After a hard few years for the government in Egypt they finally recovered and Cleopatra s face
started appearing alone on coins, this action broke tradition and this was the beginning of her
downfall. She started to cause trouble and she eventually had to flee after trying to start an
uprising only out of spite. She was exiled. And although for most rulers that is the end, this was
not the case for Cleopatra. Everything seemed to fall into place after her brother angered Caesar
after he ordered the death of Pompey, a powerful Roman. Cleopatra used this feud between her
brother and Caesar to manipulate Caesar into helping her to regain her throne. The main goal
was to have an heir to the throne and soon enough Cleopatra yet again got her way. He son, like
mentioned before, became co ruler after the death of her second brother in 46 B.C. In her adult
life Cleopatra would have met few people she considered her equal. To the Romans she was a
stubborn, supreme exception to every rule. She remains largely incomparable: She had plenty of
predecessors, few successors. With her, the age of empresses essentially came to an end. In two
thousand years only one or two other women could be said to have wielded unrestricted authority
over so vast a realm. Cleopatra remains nearly alone at the all male table, in possession of a hand
both flush and flawed. She got a very good deal right, and one crucial thing wrong

Metaframeworks Perspective Analysis
The metaframeworks perspective extracts concepts from various modalities that complement its
unique way of dealing with systems, while unburdening itself from the constraints of previous
models. Metaframeworks places emphasis on six separate domains that is believed to assist a
therapist in understanding the client. Metaframeworks draws from familysystems theory, when
observing an individual, but it expands family systems in order to include the individual s internal
processes (EFEF). Metaframeworks holds the position that family systems thinking has made the
therapist focus on either the entire family, the subsystems of the family system, or the family s
interactions with systems besides its own (EEEE). By pairing the external and internal... Show more

The opinion of metaframeworks is that each individual has multiple subpersonalities or parts that
consist of the self. Each of these parts interact with one another on a daily basis, switching
continuously back and forth dependent upon the individuals context. When an individual finds
themselves in a situation that is uncomfortable or filled with tension, then the parts are capable of
becoming extreme (polarization). The belief is that these polarized parts have taken the reigns
from an individual s true self and in order to regain control an individual must depolarize. When
clients enter therapy they are in a situation in which a part of themselves has become polarized. The
individual s polarized part wants to return to homeostasis, but it is enmeshed within the roles it has
taken on. In order to fully revert the part must recognize the self as having the ability to maintain
effective leadership and it must change its interactions with the self and other parts (EEEE). In this
manner of changing, it is believed that internal change happens at a faster rate. This also enables the
therapist to trust the client to be able to make the changes necessary for themselves without the
need for reframes. Breunlin, Schwartz, and Kune Karrer (1997) also emphasize their shift in focus
from Minuchin s structural family therapy in regards to how change occurs. Instead of introducing a
crisis, focusing on a family systems pattern

An insurgency is an armed rebellion against a constituted authority (for example, an authority

The first is that international law traditionally does not encroach on matters that are solely the
internal affairs of a sovereign state (although recent developments such as the responsibility to
protect is starting to undermine this traditional approach). The second is because at the Hague
Conference of 1899 there was disagreement between the Great Powers who considered francs
tireurs to be unlawful combatants subject to execution on capture and smaller states who
maintained that they should be considered lawful combatants. The dispute resulted in a
compromise wording being included in the Hague Conventions known as the Martens Clause after
the diplomat who drafted the clause.[11]
The Third Geneva Convention, as well as the other Geneva Conventions, are oriented to conflict

However, for an appropriate design as an employer organization, there are a number of aspects that
have to be given priority over others. I would rank them in this order; mission success, strategy or
structure, accountability or adaptability, and lastly, ladders or rings. The first and most important
one is the mission success. The mission of an organization indicates what the firm is doing, to
whom and in what context or location. In my view, this is extremely important for an employer as
it is what informs the employees of their role in that organization.

The Importance Of Human Development And The Stages Of...
Introduction
Surveys that have been conducted in the current times have revealed that there are many adults that
are returning to their parents at home. It s not the first time that this pattern is being experienced it
have happened in the past and it have always been accompanied with financial problems, it s no
different even now (Adler, 2001). It occurs when the economy is in real struggle this makes it
harder for the young men and women in the society to find their financial independence. Jeffrey
Arnett a psychologist came up with a suggestion that in these modern times the stages of
development are increasing (Mitchell, B 2006). He said that there is a new type of the
classification of the ages known as the emerging adults; this is what bridges the gap between the
adulthood and the adolescents. As per the theory it is believed that people while at their 20s
undergo a stage of development which is different from the stage of adulthood (Morton, R 2013).
This could serve as a good explanation why most of the young adults remain in their parents home
completely.
Relevance to human development field
This survey is a great benefit to the field of human development in that it will enable them to
develop a treatment plan that will be successful. It will also enable them to stand in the position of
pioneers in their respective fields. It also helps them to understand better the situation. This makes a

It was mid September 2016 we were on our making our way to Lake Hamilton. An hour and a
half later we arrived, it had been my first time in Lake Hamilton ever. I walked into the sunlight
exiting the bus. We all ran to the locker room and got a drink of water and went to stretch so we
wouldn t have problems with cramps and charley horses. We started hitting practice and ran some
sprints to warm up. Soon after the Lake Hamilton football team came out. I wasn t intimidated to
the slightest, I knew what I was capable of and was hunting for fresh blood.
Before I knew it the game was starting they got the ball first that meant that it was my time to
shine. I walked onto the field, my adrenaline was rushing through my body I was ready to show

Analysis of Da Vinci s Work as Being Reflective and...
Leonardo Da Vinci and the Renaissance Period
Objective
The objective of this work examines the how Leonardo Da Vinci s work is reflective and definitive
of the Renaissance period and as well, describes some of Da Vinci s art. This work will discuss
the use of line, form, color, texture, and materials as found within one of his works and will state
reasons this time period was chosen to examine in this work and why it is found to be appealing.
Introduction
Leonardo Da Vince was born April 15, 1452 near Vinci, Italyand was a painter, sculptor, architect
and engineer whose genius is reported to epitomize the Renaissance humanist ideal. (Bio True
Story, 2012) His most popular and influential paintings are those of the Last Supper and Mona Lisa.
It is reported that Da Vinci s notebooks reveal a scientific inquiry and a mechanical prowess that
were centuries ahead of their time. (Bio True Story, 2012) It is reported of Da Vinci that he
believed that sight В¦was man s highest sense because it alone conveyed the facts of experience
immediately, correctly, and with certainty. Hence, every phenomenon perceived became an object
of knowledge, andГ‚ saper vedereГ‚ ( knowing how to see ) became the great theme of his studies.
(Bio True Story, 2012)
During the second Florentine period Leonardo is reported to have done dissections in the hospital
of Santa Maria Nuova and broadened his anatomical work into a comprehensive study of the
structure and function of the human

Historical Details: Mandela joined the African National Congress(ANC) in 1942 and helped form
the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) in 1944 as an executive member.
In 1950, he became ANCYL president and continued the Programme of Action and expanded the
Anti Apartheid mission through the Defiance Campaign and Mandela Plan(M Plan).
In 1956, 156 ANCYL members, including Mandela, were arrested for treason. Though acquitted,
Mandela was imprisoned for traveling without a valid passport and inciting strikes.
During his time in prison, the Anti Apartheid Movement (AAM) and the United Democratic

Upon his release from prison, Mandela and the ANC renounced weapons and force.
Boehmer s Analysis: The Anti Apartheid mission and Mandela imitated a Gandhi style protest for
the various boycotts, Progamme of Action, and the Defiance Campaign. Eventually, the ANC and
Mandela believed the Algerian analyst Frantz Fanon armed struggle was a more effective model
against colonization. Mandela solidified his new creed in a speech to the Pan African Freedom
Movement of East and Central Africa (PAFMECA) named A Land Ruled By the Gun , where
Mandela hoped to establish a Pan African relationship with African governments and nationalist
organizations. Once released from prison, Mandela and the ANC again embraced the Gandhi form
of non violent discussion and negotiation.
My Analysis: Throughout Mandela s mission, he drew inspiration from across the myriad of the
ideological spectrum. Inspired by Gandhi, Mandela and the Anti Apartheid mission discovered the
foundation for the Defiance Campaign, M Plan, and Programme of Action. When Mandela and the
ANCYL felt the need for stronger resistance they found a new influence in Pan African support and
Frantz Fanon armed resistance. Mandela and the Anti Apartheid movement represent the duality of
political struggles capturing the anger that fuels an armed resistance and the hope that drives a
pacifist movement.

Compare and contrast CBT and psychodynamic approaches to...
Compare and contrast CBT and psychodynamic approaches to counselling focusing particularly on
trauma and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder): Theory and therapy. When working with clients
in today s society it s extremely important to take into consideration the specific needs of each
individual. Serious contemplation is given to the approaches and methods regarding the client s
need and presenting matters. Trauma appears in many forms in society, even from the 1960 s due
to the impact on returning soldiers from war. Since this, trauma has been categorised and widely
researched leading to numerous theories. Psychotherapies were one of the first approaches to be

This treatment approach is based on cognitive and learning theories, tackling misleading beliefs
related to the traumatic events of acknowledgments related to the abuse and provides a
supportive environment of which individuals are encouraged to talk about their traumatic
experience. A numerous amount of research has been carried out to investigate into how
effective CBT really can be for PTSD. (Resick et al, 2002) carried out an investigation comparing
CBT with strong cognitive restructuring focus and CBT with a strong exposure focus and to a
waiting list control of rape survivors. Prior to this experiment approximately 80% of patients who
completed either form of CBT no longer met the criteria for PTSD. Once this investigation was
complete a follow up treatment took place of which it was noted 2% of the waiting list group had
lost the PTSD diagnoses. Only a year after this investigation Bryant, Moulds, Guthrie, Dang Nixon,
(2003) restructured the experiment comparing exposure alone, exposure plus cognitive
restructuring, and supportive counselling in civilians with PTSD resulting from various traumatic
events. At this particular follow up 65 80% of participants who either completed either form of
CBT were now clear of PTSD diagnosis, compared to less than 40% of those who completed
supportive counselling.

1. Why is RAID 1 not a substitute for a backup?
RAID 1 will perform the operations to write as well as read the same data, which is called is called
as mirroring. It is data is back up, it might not be safe and have a high chance of risk to protect
the data. RAID 1 is preferred for mirroring and duplexing. It has a high level of reliability and
availability. It has disk in a mirrored array which has an identical image of user data. It prefers
array with parallel access for achieving the high transfer rate and also to increase the performance
for read intensive application at high cost. If the data is being deleted unwantedly, then the data

9.Select the files to be recover.
10.We can take the backup data, before that we need to verify the new disks are installed properly
in the system.
5. Discuss the impact of random and sequential I/Os in different RAID configurations
The sequential large I/O and random input and output reads and write are needed for an
application. It offers a good I/O response for random as it reads and poor for the small random
writes. For random writes, its good and are slow for parity overhead
Sequential I/Os offer good RAID reads and writes and also preferred even for large writes. For the
database and standard files stored on the servers, the random I/O is preferred with an equal disk
time span servicing of all of the I/O requests. For a single application, the RAID 0 with more disks
are preferred. For the multiple applications, files might be performed either on RAID 1 or RAID
10. Finally, RAID 5 might receive some of the updates for workloads.
Using the sequential I/O we can optimize the performance of our configuration. For writing the
intensive fields its better to avoid either RAID 5 or RAID 6 rather than that we can use RAID 1 or
10.

Symbolism In The Possibility Of Evil
A Thought of Pure Evil Imagine having to hide a secret for many years, only to realize that it
will soon be revealed. The Possibility of Evil is a short story written by Shirley Jackson. When
an old lady goes to her local post office to deliver the secret letters she has been writing for years,
she accidently drops a letter and her covert is revealed. Miss Strangeworth seems like the kindest
lady in town, but after one of neighbors discovers her secret, the entire village realizes that Miss
Strangeworth is not who she says to be. The Possibility of Evil uses components such as written
letters, Miss Strangeworth and roses to symbolise Adela s character and her intentions. The letters

The roses in her garden symbolise Miss Strangeworth s character and reveal that appearance can
be deceiving. The author writes, Tourists who sometimes passed through the town stopped to
admire Miss Strangeworth s roses... My grandmother planted these roses, and my mother tended
them, just as I do. Miss Strangeworth never gave away any of her roses, although the tourists
often asked her (Jackson 249 250). Miss Strangeworth believes that it is important for her roses
to stay on Pleasant street. She is very similar to the roses and the roses reflect her character. Miss
Strangeworth s outside demeanor can be compared to the beauty of the roses, but her thoughts
and feelings compare to the thorns. For example, the townspeople recognize her as an elegant old
lady with pretty dimples and her dainty walk. However, they do not know that she writes evil
letters and masks a petty spirit behind her sophisticated manner. The roses are a significant part of
the story because they reflect Adela s character and show that Miss Strangeworth s appearance is
deceiving. Miss Strangeworth is very much like the roses in her garden, they both appear kind and

Which of the proposed solutions do you favour and why?

Of the 3 options provided, I would choose to implement Anderson s key account program for
several reasons: 1. It will help align employee compensation with overall corporate profit
objectives. CSC managers are currently compensated based on their CSCs profit performance.
This gives managers the incentives to employ their own CSC consultants on projects from the
region, regardless if there are better suited ENSR consultants working under different CSCs.
Depending on the specific needs of a prospective client in the manager s region, the CSC may or

Therefore, ENSR might lose out on several clients because the BDOs aren t able to provide clients
with the right knowledge and expertise. 4. In some RFPs, the bid requires the consultant to outline
the scientific approach that they would take in resolving the conflict presented. This is a section
of the RFP that drives cost and time required to complete the RFP. By implementing a key
account program, consultants will be put on projects where they have expertise, and this should
allow this process to be as resource efficient as possible. 5. In the case, it states that it is common
for some companies to begin discussions with consultants well in advance of actually drafting and
distributing an RFP. These discussions helped the company to conceptualize more clearly the nature
of the project and the specific consulting needs. Having a key account team will guarantee that the
client is getting the right type of expertise, and will increase ENSR s chance of including its own
insights into the drafting of the RFP.
What is the ideal client for ENSR?
The ideal Client for ENSR is clients who have strong relationships with ENSR consultants. ENSR
gains from having repeat customers, notably customers willing to partner with ENSR for a sole
source contract. Having strong relationships reduces the amount of expended company resources
(consultant time and money). Consultants will then be able to spend less time prospecting clients

Essay on Analysis of Killings by Andre Dubus
The major theme of Andre Dubus Killing,s is how far someone would go for the person they love.
It is important to note the title of the story is killings and not killers, for the reasoning that the story
does not just focus on two deaths or two murderers but rather the death of marriage, friendship,
youth, and overall, trust.
Richard Strout was married to Mary Ann, who was most likely fed up with his hot temperedness
that always seemed to get him into fist fights. She separated from her husband and while they were
going through the process of divorce, she began a new relationship with Frank Fowler, killing all
hope of reconciling her marriage with Strout. In return Strout became enraged not only in losing
his wife, but their sons, who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Know what he ll do? Five at the most (Dubus 97). Not being able to move on and receive closure
and feeling as if the law had failed to execute justice, Fowler is pushed not only by his wife s
prodding but also his love for his son to seek his own version of justice; which is ultimately revenge.
With the help of his best friend Trottier, Fowler was able to plan out a seemingly flawless
murder. Both men tend to work late nights; Trottier was a bartender, so Fowler meeting with him
after hours was an easy alibi. The hardest part was getting Strout to a secluded place, which they
were able to do by conning him at first, saying they had bought him a ticket and wanted him out
of their lives so that everyone could move on stating, It s the trial. We can t go through that, my
wife and me. You re leaving. We ve got you a ticket. (Dubus 105) After leaving Strout s car at an
apartment building in Boston, they lead Strout to a pre dug hole in a wooded area where Fowler
kills him. The gun kicked in Matt s hand, and the explosion of the shot surrounded him...Richard
Strout, squirming on his belly pushed himself towards the woods. Then Matt went to him and shot
him once in the back of the head (106).
In this story, Dubus encourages the reader to decide the moral standing and responsibility of each
man and the basic instinct to protect ones family. At the end of the story, Matt tells Ruth what
happened, but it is clear that he feels deep

Comparing The Epic Gilgamesh And Navajo Flood Myth
Myths were created to explain the inexplicable, and to emphasize the power of a God or
Goddess. There are some myths that are part of religious traditions that are passed down from
generation to generation. Flood myths were most likely created to scare people or to tell people
how God or Gods gave them a do over. Despite bearing some minor similarities the differences
between the Bible, The Epic Gilgamesh, and Navajo flood story are clear.
In each of these stories there was a great flood. In the flood story in the Bible the purpose was to
kill all air breathing animals and all the sinful humans that lived on land. In the Bible Noah was
told to build an ark and take his family and two of each animal with him. The flood story in the
Epic of Gilgamesh had a very similar reason but the Gods were meaning to kill human and
animal. Ea tells Utnapishtim to build a boat and take only himself and two of each animal, but he
ends up taking his workers, family, and a lot of things that he was not suppose to. In the Navajo
flood story the flood was not to kill all of mankind, it was to get the sea monsters baby back.

saw that the people in the earth were evil and they decided that they wanted to completely restart
the world and kill every human and animal. Ea went against the other Gods and told Utnapishtim
in a dream to build a boat because he saw something in Utnapishim that was not in other people.
In the Navajo flood story the Gods did not send the flood to kill the people or to restart the world.

crippled, sullied by false accusations, and profoundly alienated from the American cause of

WWII was a war in which the United States was hoping to stay out of. But that hope was

Essay on Psychological Egoism
Psychological Egoism
The descriptive claim made by Psychological Egoists is that humans, by nature, are motivated
only by self interest. Any act, no matter how altruistic it may seem on the outside is actually only
a disguise for a selfish desire such as recognition, avoiding guilt, reward or sense of personal
goodness or morality. For example, Mother Teresa is just using the poor for her own long term
spiritual gain. Being a universal claim, it could falter with a single counterexample. And being that
I believe this claim to be bunk I will tell you why!

Furthermore, how can one know with any certainty that they are acting in their ultimate self
interest? What they do could me in their immediate self interest, but could work against them in the
future, knowingly or unknowingly.
Also, when a situation arises in which one must make a split decision, does the psychological
egoist expect a human to deliberate whether the action is in their self interest or not? For
example, if I see my child run out onto a busy street and I can see that if I run out and grab her I
can save her life and if I do not, my child will be squished by a speeding car. Do I, as the egoist
would expect, take the time to deliberate that saving my child will result in all kinds of good for
both her and I? No, I rush out and grab her in an instant and the good comes later. Now of course
it is true that we sometimes get satisfaction and/or good feelings from acting unselfishly, but it
would be a post hoc fallacy to say that we perform unselfish acts solely for the sake of that
satisfaction. Also, self interest and an interest for the welfare of others can certainly be
bedfellows, and not strange ones. Using the shopkeeper example, he could opt never cheat his
customers simply because he knows that honesty is good for business. He could cheat his
customers and make a boatload of money, but he knows that it is wrong to cheat and lie to people
it hurts them, is unfair and may make him feel guilty. So, self interest or selfishness is not

Arguments Against Codified Constitution
A constitution can be defined as A set of rules that seek to establish the duties, powers and functions
of the various institutions of government; regulate the relationship between and among the
institutions; and define the relationship between the state and the individual, (Winrow, n.d.)
Marking the approaching 800th anniversary of Britain s famous Magna Carta, Graham Allen MP

Many codified constitution supporters fail to take into account the overall rigidity of a codified
constitution, a problem that has caused numerous problems for countries around the world
(PaCRC, 2014, pp. 24 26). Most predominantly is the classic, yet potent example of the USA and
their gun laws. There has been an on going debate about whether gun laws should be restricted due
to their position on the constitution. The argument of many anti gun restrictions, such as the
National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Gun Owners of America (GOA), is that the right to bear
arms, stated under the second amendment of the US constitution as The right of the people to keep
and bear arms should not be infringed , outlines the fundamental right for law abiding American
citizens to legally own a firearm, and therefore should not be contested as it forms part of the key
liberties of an American citizen. Although, in recent years, the USA has seen numerous public
shooting sprees, most predominantly the Columbine shootings of 1999, Sandy Hook shootings of
2012 in Connecticut and Virginia Tech killings of 2007. This has called into question the
compatibility of the second amendment with modern day society. It is clear that there needs to be
some form of restriction on the possession of guns in the US, yet due to the nature of the codified
constitution in place, this is extremely difficult to alter, highlighting the rigidity of codified
constitutions and the lack of flexibility to update legislation in sync with an ever changing

Chapter Two
Chapter Two I ran away, sweating uncontrollably, breathing heavily as screams erupted behind
me. I didn t,t look back as they cal no pleaded for me to return. I stubbornly ignored them but
quickly regarded it as their voices became more clear, He s there! Don t go near him! No one
returns! Suddenly the darkness covered me, eating me whole. Music, that s the first thing I
noticed. The tune that filled my ears reminded me of a children s song. The medley was soft but
had this odd second tune mixed in, it sent chills down my spine. Then there was a wild wind
blowing from the left of me? It was all so hard to tell with the darkness around me. Finally, it all
stopped, all the harsh winds and the chilling music stopped. Suddenly voices... Show more content

I have no idea why but for some reason I was being so vague on the matter and I knew that my
mother would notice it. Surprisingly though she never caught it. It was as if it just flew pasted
her head I actually began to feel a little worried then because nothing flies passed her, and I mean
nothing! Mom, I asked, are you alright? I looked at her face as she mouth the words that left my
lips. Am I alright? Well of course I m alright dear! What would give you the impression that I wasn

about to race out the door when as I was walking passed the kitchen I noticed a familiar brunet.
Ted? Jonathan? I asked while walking in. I was greeted with a suppressed giggle like noise.
Seriously this isn t cool you guys! I don t want my mom to get PTSD because of your guys

Dinkum Stereotypes
How dinkum is the Aussie bloke? The average Australian male is not like the historical stereotype,
to be honest they re far from it. Instead of being scruffy, sunburnt and having little or no personal
hygiene; most Australian men are well groomed and practically bathe themselves in expensive
cologne s and other personal care products. All in all, it is obvious that the past stereotypes of
Australian men are no longer an accurate component of Modern Australia.
The historical stereotype of the Australian male can be found in many different songs; Down Under
by Men at Work is just one of these anthems that create a stereotype irrelevant to todays society. The
song uses a range of lines to promote to the listener the characteristics of Australian

The Black Church In The African American Experience Summary
This week s assignment is to answer questions, in essay format, from chapters 5 and 6 of the
assigned textbook, The Black Church in the African American Experience, by C. Eric Lincoln and
Lawrence H. Mamiya, provided the answers. Below are responses to the five questions: 1. What
does the increase of education Among African American clergy indicate? From reading chapter 5
of the textbook, it has been determined that the increase of education reflects the effects and
influence of the civil rights movement and the desegregation of education. 2. Why is it difficult to
track or do statistical and historical studies on the African American Church? Chapter 5 revealed
that this is due to a lack of reliable statistical... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What is indicated by the profile of the urban clergy? Chapter 6 eluded to these particulars, urban
clergy identified with one primary black denomination (90%); urban clergy members were
overwhelmingly male (98%); 88% of urban clergy members were married, 3.6% were divorced, 5%
were single, and 2.7% were widowed. Here is a summary, the typical urban clergy member is male,
51.5 years of age, pastors full time without another occupation, married, owns his own home (not
supplied by the church), identifies with only one denominational group, earns more than rural
clergy, does not get a car allowance, has no health insurance via the church, is not a college
graduates, and his primary responsibility with the church is just to preach. 5. What ministry types
are present within the Black Urban Church that may not take place in the Black Rural Church
setting? Bible Study Groups, Prayer Meetings, are the ministries that were present in the urban
church and not the rural church. This reading application has again uncovered supplementary and
important information on the history of the African American church. It also provided a look into
the future of the church. Further study in this area should continue to be fruitful and very

The Qualities Of A Professional Team
Popular theories such as Myers Bridge personality type states that a high performing team is
comprised of both distinctly defined roles and a well rounded collection of personality
archetypes. In order to ensure a successful team, it is important to know more about the team
member personalities and how the different personalities can be a useful tool building and
leading a project team. After taking the personality test, my personality type was identified as
ENFJ Extravert (26%) Intuitive (16%) Feeling (7%) and Judging (34%). Jasmine Pierce was also
identified as a ENFJ Extravert (34%) Intuitive (3%) Feeling (28%) Judging (31%). ENFJ

My other team members were also able to to identify their personality type after taking the test.
Alyssa Collison personality type was identified as ESFJ Extravert (53%) Sensing (1%) Feeling

Feeling (25%) Judging (1%). Ian was identified as INTJ Introvert (31%) Intuitive (3%) Thinking
(16%) Judging (6%). Haley Radle was was identified as ESFJ Extravert (59%) Sensing (9%)
Feeling (59%) Judging (22%). Emily Blum was identified as ISTJ Introvert (3%) Sensing (34%)
Thinking (1%) Judging (66%). Last but not least Candice Smith personality type was identified as
ESTJ Extravert (12%) Sensing (1%) Thinking (19%), Judging (3%). The percentage collected from
the personality test gave me a better understanding how each member strength will help the team.
The percentage also indicates their degree of strength on how they each think and behave. Alyssa
Collison, Brittany Scott and Haley Radle were all identified of having ESFJ personality type, they
are known as the provider. Alyssa, Brittany and Haley all scored higher in extravert and feeling.
Having a higher percentage in extravert and feeling shows that they interact better with others and
make decisions using subjective values. Brittany Scott also had a high score in sensing, which
indicates that she perceives tangible facts better compared to Alyssa and Haley. Other than those two

“Metaphors,” Written By Sylvia Plath, Is A Riddle Poem.
Metaphors, written by Sylvia Plath, is a riddle poem. Throughout the poem, Plath uses figures of
speech, alliteration, and other literary devices to reveal her central theme. Like a riddle, the reader
must use Plath s literary devices to unveil the answer to the riddle. While Metaphors does not use a
traditional form or meter, its unusual structure also points to the main idea Plath presents. Plath s
Metaphors is a riddle poem whose solution, pregnancy, is solved using literary devices and other

Plath s use of the number nine is yet another key to solving the riddle.
Continuing the descriptions of the physical transformation of pregnancy, Plath uses another
metaphor in line two: An elephant, a ponderous house, (2). The first metaphor of the elephant
displays the physical transformation a pregnant woman undergoes. The obvious transformations
of weight gain and unflattering associations of slow and difficult gait (Devi, p. 2, 2006) are
reflected in the elephant metaphor. The ponderous house refers the bulky figure of a pregnant
woman ( Metaphors: Lines 1 4, 2008). G. Devi also points out that the woman is like a house as the
speaker sees herself as a shelter for the child growing inside her (p. 2, 2006).
Plath again portrays the physical changes of pregnancy in line three: A melon strolling on two
tendrils (3). The line s imagery allows the reader to gain a mental picture of a large melon
carefully walking on two thin legs. This line also employs personification as the melon is given
the human quality of walking ( Metaphors: Lines 1 4, 2008). The melon is also metaphor of
fertility. Like a fetus, a melon fruit is the most valuable part of the plant (Devi, p. 2, 2006). Plath
continues the value of pregnancy in line four: O red fruit, ivory, fine timbers! (4). The items listed
in this line are all of high value. The red fruit is the most valuable

The Mind And Brain Work
One of Smarts main points is that a man is a vast arrangement of physical particles, but not, over
and above this, sensations or state of consciousness. (Pg.584). What I took from this point was that
Smart was trying to express that the mind isn t some sort of thing that exists separate from the brain.
The mindat most exists within the brain but isn t some kind of physical thing or separate existence
within us. I believe that the mind and brain work together and have a connection but they do not
exist as the same thing. If everything were just measurable brain processes we would all act and
feel the exact same way about every experience. We wouldn t use our consciousnessto differ
between what is right or wrong when our brain sees and hears different situations. Take putting
your hand on a burner for example, our brain tells us to put our hand on a burner, and we register
that we are feeling pain and that it is painful but without or consciousness and our mind we wouldn
t register to tell our brains to pull our hand away. Our mind takes experiences we have lived
through to create our consciousness about different situations. Our mind is what makes everyone
unique and our uniqueness is why we can t measure minds in a scientific manner. Our minds are
based on our unique and personal lives.
Smart also believes in the theory of Occam s razor (Pg. 584). Occam s razor (Ockham s razor)
essentially describes that when considering numerous ideas or theories, the one with the

Ever Since The Beginning Of The Internet, Technology Has
Ever since the beginning of the Internet, technology has presented itself as a valuable tool for
enhancing collaborative efforts among organizations. In fact, the origins of the Internet came from
the need to collaborate between research and development institutions and the military (Sutton,
2004). However, as the Internet continues to evolve, recent hardware and software innovations
enable collaboration at an unprecedented level. This paper will explore an example solution that
can resolve some of the current collaboration challenges for a U.S. Army organization, a cost to
benefit analysis of implementing the technology, and some of the concerns that the organization
must address before and after fielding the tool.

As the meeting progresses, each user edits or inserts information into that document in real time
based on conversations throughout the meetings. To further augment and support MS OneNote, the
brigade can leverage the Defense Collaboration Services (DCS) platform. DCS is a web based
tool that users can use to conduct presentations, share files, and conduct white boarding sessions
from users at any location (Pellerin, 2015). In short, DCS enables collaboration at an enterprise
level by simply entering a website address into a web browser. What meeting attendees discuss,
share, or develop during a DCS session goes into OneNote.
Sustainment and Costs to Benefit Analysis
MS OneNote serves as a great solution for the immediate problems of the brigade s staff
collaborating locally at Fort Eustis. Yet, combined with DCS, both tools address the long term,
strategic problem with the 93rd Signal Brigade s 38 geographically separated network enterprise
centers. DCS extends and augments the capabilities over a much wider audience. Since the Army
already possesses the necessary licenses, the initiative does not require funding for implementation.
Also, each workstation on the Army s network already has OneNote installed or and users have
open access to the Defense Collaboration Services.

Essay 2
The Federation of Australia was only seventeen years old when the war ended and a national
identity began to emerge which reflected upon the sacrifice and service of Australian armed service
men and women.
Did Australia s WWI service history contribute to a national identity and what was the identity that
was forged? Discuss.
In 1901 Australia was a part of a Federation between six colonies which British Parliament passed
legislation and Australia joined as part of the Commonwealth. Which paved the way for Australia to
be recognised by the World.

Australia forged its own identity from this world war 1 due to the fact of the signed immigrants
and we became our own nation which forged us into what we are today, without our involvement
in world war 1, we would not be known as the ANZACS as we respect today. If we did not have
the immigrants that came to our shore during the gold rush, I do not believe we would be the
multicultural society that we are today.
With the Paliment deciding in 1901 for Australians involvement with Britan and with the
Anniversary of 1915 of the Landing in Galllipoli it helped forge us a nation that we now know as
ANZAC . With the multi Cutural nationalities who came during the Gold rush came and fought

Colonial Development, Colonialism, Colonialism And...
What is the relation between colonial experience and economic development? Answer by way of
discussing colonialism, modernisation and economic development. Introduction 300 There is a
distinct relationship between a nation s economic development and its historical colonial
experiences. For centuries, colonial rulers, primarily from Europe, spread throughout the world,
across the Americas, in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and began to transform the very fabric of
a number of populations and thriving nations. Colonising nations introduced a plethora of
technologies and took modern approaches to the integration into the global economy, which made
substantial changes to the development of a large number of colonised countries. On the other
hand, the monopolisation and exploitation of these cultures and economies spurred centuries of
oppression and crippled the development of what has become known as the Global South. For
many nations, the redirection of wealth and resources to the benefit of colonial nations triggered
the end of economic success for what are now known as developing nations and caused massive
inequality and social disparity for entire populations. In India, expected economic success was
significantly stalled by European colonisers, with key aspects of its society and livelihood
destroyed by foreign intervention. As a result, the nation was hurled backwards and its economic
development was held at a standstill, consequently subjecting the local population

The Importance Of Robots
I leaned a little closer as i tried to make out what seemed to be grey hairs on the back of my
friend s head. My wonder at how a high schooler could have grey hair was lost as the group let
out over the top laughter of a joke I hadn t heard. My attempt to join their discussion had failed as
it had every attempt before that. The close bond my male counterparts on the robotics team were
developing was resistant to female intrusion, and I often found myself on the outskirts of the group
staring bemusedly at the back of someone s head as back slaps and exotic handshakes were
exchanged. More often than not what kept me out of these groups were the topics up for
discussion. They could range anywhere from techniques for machining cubes on lathes... Show

My friends and I were encouraged to have pillow fights and gossip sessions while my male
counterparts had been prompted by pure curiosity to break objects to discover their inner contents.
The next few days irked me as I began to notice the dynamic between the girls and boys on the
robotics team. The mechanical side of building was romanticized for the boys, while the girls
struggled to participate in planning and discussions. In a fit of frustration I googled voltage
transformers in a vague attempt to find a site to nicely explain what it was, but stopped when I
saw microwave transformer in one of the suggested searches. I slowly smiled and searched
craigslist. A couple hours later my parents watched in stunned silence as I lugged an old microwave
up the porch steps.
My childish glee was quickly dispelled as I I surveyed the complex machine in front of me.
Extracting what I needed from it would be no small task. I grabbed a variety of tools that had
not been touched in decades and began prying the plastic frame. Taking out screws rusted over
by years of filth and moisture was physically daunting, and I slaved for hours in the hot summer
sun before finally revealing the microwave s electronic innards. I was drenched in sweat, and had
grease up to my elbows, but felt unstoppable. My experience in hardware was limited to arduino
kits I had dabbled in as a child, which was nothing

Sleep Disturbance And Day Time Sleepiness
which his characterized by snoring, sleep disturbance and day time sleepiness. There is a close
relation between OSA and hypertension; as many as one third of hypertensive patients and above
80% of those with resistant hypertension have OSA.
Alcohol Higher intake of alcohol increases the blood pressure. Reducing alcohol leads to fall in the
systolic blood pressure.
Stress Psychological or environmental stress play a part in the causes of hypertension. Direct effects
of situations such as poverty, unemployment and poor education (stressors) are involved, as are
other aspects of lifestyle that are linked to hypertension.
Exercise Physical activity increases blood pressure, but people who exercise regularly have lower
blood pressures. Such people, however, also may have a healthier diet and more sensible drinking
and smoking habits.
Other dietary factors Vegetarians generally have lower BP than non vegetarians. Reducing a meat
rich diet with vegetable products reduces blood pressure. Caffeine and caffeinated drinks also
increases blood pressure and must be avoided.
THE VARIOUS BODY MECHANISMS THAT CAUSES AND INFLUENCES HYPERTENSION
The various mechanisms that cause and influences hypertension are actually built into us for good
reasons: we need them to keep our blood pressure from falling too low. But when they go somewhat
awry, they cause high blood pressure. And when that happens, we need treatment for hypertension,
ironically aimed at the same mechanisms.

  • 2. A Personal Review Of Eating Red Lobster Now moving on to the middle drawer. This drawer consists of meats such as; chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, pork, turkey, ham, bacon also as well as seafood such as grab legs and shrimp. My favorite out of all of the meat is the seafood. This is my favorite because I have grown up eating Red Lobster and learned to love crab legs. When traveling its unique to see how everyone s seafood differs. Seafood is huge in our culture, especially in places near the coastline. Almost everywhere you go there will be options to choose from that are seafood related. Last drawer to the top holds things such as cream cheese, sour cream, butter, and small things that my mom adds to cook with her food. Not much in there is not my favorite, specifically cream cheese. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hot sauce is always in my fridge! Ketchup and mustard is commonly used by our culture on hotdogs, hamburgers, and chicken. Something strange I put ketchup on is noodles. Its surprisingly good. Last but not least is ranch. Ranch is overused in our family as I m sure it is in many others. My siblings will eat anything involving potatoes with ranch. Eating ranch with potatoes and salads are becoming more common in our way of life. Growing up I feel like it wasn t as popular but now it s used on so many different ... I have applied to many different restaurants and only one has accepted my application. I have not worked a shift yet but I will soon be able to work once a scheduled time for me to work is in place. I was able to get the job because an odd friend from high schooland she was able to get me an interview at Sonic Drive in here in Pocatello. I feel like I can do well in this institution because I have experience from working at a fast foodjoint back in my hometown, Burley. The only places a teenager like me can apply to is retail and fast food due to our lack of experience and ignorance. My work experience consists of many years of gardening and lawn care services. I would do a lot of gardening and flower care working at a greenhouse. I realized that I was not fit for that job because that job would require me to do a lot of labor and being uncomfortable in hot clothes. Another experience is working at Jack in the Box. I have training of every station except shift leader and manager. I enjoyed the work because I was surrounded by people with whom I would associate out of work as well. Results of Assessments. • 4. Video Games And Its Effects On The Classroom As technology changes each generation, so does choice of pastime. The most notable one being a kid s obsession with video games, spending hours glued to the monitor. Instead of fighting it, educators around the nation are accepting and adopting the video game interest to their classrooms. Many may argue that videogames are a distraction and are too violent, however, if implemented in school systems the games used will be safe and focused around the core subject. Otherwise, there are teachers out there that are interested in leveraging game for learning, they re not alone. as the director of the academic and digital learning Lucas Gillispie says, It makes it logical to implement video games to the class lesson as it provides a fun and effective way for students to learn with. One of the most popular game amongst young children, Minecraft, have already been implemented in many school systems nationwide. Minecraft is a digital lego like, sandbox game, meaning that the player has complete freedom within that game world. Players manipulate the world around them through, as the game name says, mining and crafting. The game itself has an overwhelming amount of items mirror the real world with, giving Minecraft a high educational value to the point that it has it s own educational variety, MinecraftEdu. According to the T H E Journal s 4 Innovative Ways To Teach With Video Games , their use of Minecraft was intentionally used as an after school program for at risk students. ... Barry Bonds was determined to be the best player in Major League Baseball, and with that mindset, he has smashed multiple records. Bonds did not spend much time in the Minor League before he was brought up, each season being a good season for the young Barry Bonds. He started out in the minors, was brought up to the majors by the Pittsburgh Pirates, and was sent back down again. He was brought up yet again by Pittsburgh, and spent the rest of his career in the Major League. In his first Minor League season, he played 71 games, with 76 hits and 13 home runs. The aforementioned quote, by Henry Gandle, a professor of physiology at Chicago Medical College, characterizes the germ theory through the collective human struggle against disease inducing microorganisms. In a period of discovery, where the nature of various germs and diseases were brought to light, the common conception encompassed a war between humans and diseases; this analogy to a war implicates a united effort on the part of the human race in battling these dangerous microorganisms. Tomes writes in The Gospel of Germs not only of the different scientific discoveries associated with the emergent germ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Southwood Smith excerpt, he depicts the ideal method of quarantine as influenced by neither ancient prejudices, nor an excess of anxiety to avert possible danger, should induce the continuance of restrictions inessential to their object. In other words, Southwood Smith acknowledges not only the active societal biases, but also that these partialities can enter the medical realm through prejudicial treatment of disease. A society with such prominent discrimination, including in those with medical clout, has the capacity to formulate racial and class bias in germ theory that is but an extension of already existing anxieties concerning other less well off members of society. Rather than bringing people together in response to the fear of disease, quarantine had the capacity to create a more segregated society praying on the middle and upper class fears of disease spreading through the other, discriminated members of society. African Americans are among the societal groups that lacked the societal cohesiveness Tomes attributes to the gospel of germs insofar as they remained segregates and relatively uneducated on the new germ theories in comparison to other members of society. • 7. Jewish Resistance to the Holocaust Essay Examining any issue pertaining to the Holocaust is accompanied with complexity and the possibility of controversy. This is especially true in dealing with the topic of Jewish resistance to the Holocaust. Historians are often divided on this complex issue, debating issues such as how resistance is defined and, in accordance with that definition, how much resistance occurred. According to Michael Marrus, the very term Jewish resistance suggests a point of view. Many factors, both internal such as differences in opinion on when or what resistance was appropriate, as well as external, such as the lack of arms with which to revolt, contributed to making resistance, particularly armed resistance, extremely difficult. When considering acts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, it was very difficult to gauge when this point would come; the Germans were inconsistent in when they carried out the executions, as some were killed immediately and others were kept alive for a time. Understandably, many Jews inaccurately predicted the time before their imminent deaths and therefore missed their chance at resistance. In addition to the living conditions in the ghettos and camps, many differences in opinion led to hesitance to engage in resistance, particularly armed resistance. There was a great deal of collective responsibility involved with resistance some believed that to act out was to endanger everyone in the group. Unfortunately, these worries were often founded in truth. In one instance, when a man protested the death of his brother by calling the SS member a murder, he was removed to prison, where he passed away; all of the other members of his group, who had witnessed the incident, were killed as well. By punishing the entire group for the rebellion of one, the SS helped to ensure that others would know the cost of resistance, and therefore be less inclined to resist themselves. Another instance of the idea of collective responsibility was seen in the Vilna ghetto when fugitives escaped the ghetto, their families, as well all of the Jewish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Notes on Max Weber s The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit... There are a number of different modern social theories regarding the nature of society, social change, human s place within society and the idea of how integration and alienation fit within a modern society. These paradigms combine reflexively into a notion of history. Max Weber was a German politician, scholar, economist, and sociologist. In fact, he founded the modern studies of sociology, public administration, and organizational theory. He was born in 1864 and so was writing and publishing after Marx, but still looking at capitalism, socialism, and the various dictates of society as ways humans are shaped, actualized, and able to have upward mobility. He is most famous for his works surrounding the sociology of religion and government, and how those two institutions shaped, controlled, and contributed to humankind. For Weber, the idea of rationalism rational thought based on societal efficiency and productivity, runs through his works particularly The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism. In this seminal work, Weber argues that the idea of Protestantism contributes to history and economics in that piety and the chance for a better life after death cause humans to strive for economic gain in certain ways, whereas that is not always using work as an expression of self it is work, as Marx might say, for the ends justifying the means, rather than the means justifying what work is being done. • 9. Animal Imagery in the Wars Essays The abundant animal imagery in Timothy Findley s book The Wars is used to develop characterization and theme. The protagonist, Robert Ross, has a deep connection with animals that reflects his personality and the situations that he faces. This link between Robert and the animals shows the reader that human nature is not much different than animal nature. The animals in this story are closely related to the characters, especially the character of Robert. Rodwell acknowledges Robert s close union with animals when he draws Robert in his sketchbook as the only human form among sketches of animals (155). For instance, when Robert s team takes a wrong turn, the fog is full of noises of birds (80). Then the birds fly out of the ditch and disappear. Robert and Poole know that [t]here must be something terribly wrong...but neither one knew how to put it into words. The birds, being gone, had taken some mysterious presence with them. There was an awful sense of void as if the world had been emptied (81). The birds return and when Robert nears the collapsing dike, one of the birds [flies] up and cut[s] across Robert s path as if it is trying to prevent him from going any further. Robert does not heed the warning and almost dies in the sinking mud. Another ominous bird appears when Robert and his crew are close to enemy lines. A bird sings and Robert looks up to see the deadly gas easing towards them. He is able to react quickly and save most of his crew. Soon after, the same bird sings again, one long note descending; three that [waver] (142). Then Robert sees the German soldier whom he ends up killing when he thinks that the man is reaching for a gun. Now, imagine if he or she were sick, or in any other kind of trouble. What would you do to help them? Go to the edge of the world and back, fight, not stopping for yourself until they were in good health once more. Now imagine if you found a potential cure, or a solution, but it was held away because a few people who had more money than you did not want it to be used. You have seen and heard of this proponent being used in other countries and has had very promising results, yet still those who claim they have power over you deny what you seek. The fact of the matter is thousands of Americans suffer from some kind of mental illness, including my brother. Whether it be chronic anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, depression, bi polar, schizophrenia, addiction, the list can go on. America has a botched mental health system, the main way we treat people is by shoving pills down their throats, most that have little to no substantial effects, leaving people still feeling empty. The pills rather just control or alleviate symptoms rather than eradicating them completely, leaving people to have to take dose after dose daily to keep their lives in check. • 12. Parasympathetic And Sympathetic Nervous System Analysis INTRODUCTION Within vertebrates, heart rate is established by the sinoatrial (SA) node of the heart. This is achieved through a series of action potentials which drives excitation of cardiac muscles and establishes a rhythmic pace (Fritz et al., 2011). However, there are numerous factors that can affect the SA nodes impact on heart rate, which are primarily related to the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system is responsible for the regulation of involuntary functions, and is broken up into the parasympathetic (PSNS) and sympathetic nervous systems (SNS). The SNS is most commonly referred to as an organism s fight or flight response, in which its activation is generally in response to stress, and results in a preparation ... Through loyalty programmes companies therefore can track the behaviour of customer, and trends of his activities over a period of time. So loyalty programmes provide an opportunity to learn about the customer s preferences, and expectations. Customers tend to be loyal only when they can identify their values matching with those of the brand. This leads to brand association from the customer s with the company s logo, brand. Gender Identity Disorder Research Paper Gender identity disorder also referred to as gender variance, and in other cultures as two spirited, can be described as the formal diagnosis that psychologists and physicians give to individuals who experience reasonable gender dysphoria. Such individuals are not contented with the biological sex that they possess and tend to strongly identify with the other sex. It is a psychiatric categorization and describes characteristics that are linked to transgenderidentity, transvestism and transsexuality and is the diagnostic categorization normally associated with transsexuals, or individuals who feel they were born into the wrong physicality (Kenneth Bradley, 2002). • 16. Jim Heynen s What Happened During The Ice Storm Janaya Prout Quick and Calm Jim Heynen describes, How beautiful! People said when things outside started to shine with ice. But the freezing rain kept coming. The story, What Happened During the Ice Storm by Jim Heynen, is about farm boys going to collect pheasants in the middle of a raging ice storm. Every animal was safe except for the pheasants. They were frozen in place along the fence and could not see anything through the ice. After a careful analysis of the story, the reader can understand the theme, how people act in challenging situations, and human nature through imagery, diction, and figurative language. Heynen uses a lot of imagery throughout his story so people can visualize how the storm is affecting the farm boys in the situation. The narrator explains, Things around them were shining and dripping with icy rain (Heynen). The icy rain makes it more difficult to concentrate on how to handle the situation. Queen Cleopatra never had any intention of ruling with her brother and husband Ptolemy XIII. After a hard few years for the government in Egypt they finally recovered and Cleopatra s face started appearing alone on coins, this action broke tradition and this was the beginning of her downfall. She started to cause trouble and she eventually had to flee after trying to start an uprising only out of spite. She was exiled. And although for most rulers that is the end, this was not the case for Cleopatra. Everything seemed to fall into place after her brother angered Caesar after he ordered the death of Pompey, a powerful Roman. Cleopatra used this feud between her brother and Caesar to manipulate Caesar into helping her to regain her throne. The main goal was to have an heir to the throne and soon enough Cleopatra yet again got her way. He son, like mentioned before, became co ruler after the death of her second brother in 46 B.C. In her adult life Cleopatra would have met few people she considered her equal. To the Romans she was a stubborn, supreme exception to every rule. She remains largely incomparable: She had plenty of predecessors, few successors. With her, the age of empresses essentially came to an end. Metaframeworks Perspective Analysis The metaframeworks perspective extracts concepts from various modalities that complement its unique way of dealing with systems, while unburdening itself from the constraints of previous models. Metaframeworks places emphasis on six separate domains that is believed to assist a therapist in understanding the client. Metaframeworks draws from familysystems theory, when observing an individual, but it expands family systems in order to include the individual s internal processes (EFEF). Metaframeworks holds the position that family systems thinking has made the therapist focus on either the entire family, the subsystems of the family system, or the family s interactions with systems besides its own (EEEE). By pairing the external and internal... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The opinion of metaframeworks is that each individual has multiple subpersonalities or parts that consist of the self. Each of these parts interact with one another on a daily basis, switching continuously back and forth dependent upon the individuals context. When an individual finds themselves in a situation that is uncomfortable or filled with tension, then the parts are capable of becoming extreme (polarization). The belief is that these polarized parts have taken the reigns from an individual s true self and in order to regain control an individual must depolarize. When clients enter therapy they are in a situation in which a part of themselves has become polarized. The individual s polarized part wants to return to homeostasis, but it is enmeshed within the roles it has taken on. In order to fully revert the part must recognize the self as having the ability to maintain effective leadership and it must change its interactions with the self and other parts (EEEE). In this manner of changing, it is believed that internal change happens at a faster rate. This also enables the therapist to trust the client to be able to make the changes necessary for themselves without the need for reframes. Breunlin, Schwartz, and Kune Karrer (1997) also emphasize their shift in focus from Minuchin s structural family therapy in regards to how change occurs. • 21. The Importance Of Human Development And The Stages Of... Introduction Surveys that have been conducted in the current times have revealed that there are many adults that are returning to their parents at home. It s not the first time that this pattern is being experienced it have happened in the past and it have always been accompanied with financial problems, it s no different even now (Adler, 2001). It occurs when the economy is in real struggle this makes it harder for the young men and women in the society to find their financial independence. Jeffrey Arnett a psychologist came up with a suggestion that in these modern times the stages of development are increasing (Mitchell, B 2006). He said that there is a new type of the classification of the ages known as the emerging adults; this is what bridges the gap between the adulthood and the adolescents. As per the theory it is believed that people while at their 20s undergo a stage of development which is different from the stage of adulthood (Morton, R 2013). This could serve as a good explanation why most of the young adults remain in their parents home completely. Relevance to human development field This survey is a great benefit to the field of human development in that it will enable them to develop a treatment plan that will be successful. It s also one of the most feared, due to mounting evidence showing links between HPV and cancers of the cervix, throat, anus, and penis. • 38. Essay on Psychological Egoism Psychological Egoism The descriptive claim made by Psychological Egoists is that humans, by nature, are motivated only by self interest. Any act, no matter how altruistic it may seem on the outside is actually only a disguise for a selfish desire such as recognition, avoiding guilt, reward or sense of personal goodness or morality. For example, Mother Teresa is just using the poor for her own long term spiritual gain. Being a universal claim, it could falter with a single counterexample. And being that I believe this claim to be bunk I will tell you why! If I help a friend out of trouble, there is a chance that I would feel happy afterwards. But was that happiness the motive for my actions or just the result? I didn t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, how can one know with any certainty that they are acting in their ultimate self interest? What they do could me in their immediate self interest, but could work against them in the future, knowingly or unknowingly. Also, when a situation arises in which one must make a split decision, does the psychological egoist expect a human to deliberate whether the action is in their self interest or not? For example, if I see my child run out onto a busy street and I can see that if I run out and grab her I can save her life and if I do not, my child will be squished by a speeding car. Do I, as the egoist would expect, take the time to deliberate that saving my child will result in all kinds of good for both her and I? No, I rush out and grab her in an instant and the good comes later. Now of course it is true that we sometimes get satisfaction and/or good feelings from acting unselfishly, but it would be a post hoc fallacy to say that we perform unselfish acts solely for the sake of that satisfaction. Also, self interest and an interest for the welfare of others can certainly be bedfellows, and not strange ones. Using the shopkeeper example, he could opt never cheat his customers simply because he knows that honesty is good for business. He could cheat his customers and make a boatload of money, but he knows that it is wrong to cheat and lie to people it hurts them, is unfair and may make him feel guilty. So, self interest or selfishness is not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many codified constitution supporters fail to take into account the overall rigidity of a codified constitution, a problem that has caused numerous problems for countries around the world (PaCRC, 2014, pp. 24 26). Most predominantly is the classic, yet potent example of the USA and their gun laws. There has been an on going debate about whether gun laws should be restricted due to their position on the constitution. The argument of many anti gun restrictions, such as the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Gun Owners of America (GOA), is that the right to bear arms, stated under the second amendment of the US constitution as The right of the people to keep and bear arms should not be infringed , outlines the fundamental right for law abiding American citizens to legally own a firearm, and therefore should not be contested as it forms part of the key liberties of an American citizen. Although, in recent years, the USA has seen numerous public shooting sprees, most predominantly the Columbine shootings of 1999, Sandy Hook shootings of 2012 in Connecticut and Virginia Tech killings of 2007. This has called into question the compatibility of the second amendment with modern day society. It is clear that there needs to be some form of restriction on the possession of guns in the US, yet due to the nature of the codified constitution in place, this is extremely difficult to alter, highlighting the rigidity of codified constitutions and the lack of flexibility to update legislation in sync with an ever changing ... Continuing the descriptions of the physical transformation of pregnancy, Plath uses another metaphor in line two: An elephant, a ponderous house, (2). The first metaphor of the elephant displays the physical transformation a pregnant woman undergoes. The obvious transformations of weight gain and unflattering associations of slow and difficult gait (Devi, p. 2, 2006) are reflected in the elephant metaphor. The ponderous house refers the bulky figure of a pregnant woman ( Metaphors: Lines 1 4, 2008). G. Devi also points out that the woman is like a house as the speaker sees herself as a shelter for the child growing inside her (p. 2, 2006). Plath again portrays the physical changes of pregnancy in line three: A melon strolling on two tendrils (3). The line s imagery allows the reader to gain a mental picture of a large melon carefully walking on two thin legs. This line also employs personification as the melon is given the human quality of walking ( Metaphors: Lines 1 4, 2008). The melon is also metaphor of fertility. Like a fetus, a melon fruit is the most valuable part of the plant (Devi, p. 2, 2006). Plath continues the value of pregnancy in line four: O red fruit, ivory, fine timbers! (4). What I took from this point was that Smart was trying to express that the mind isn t some sort of thing that exists separate from the brain. The mindat most exists within the brain but isn t some kind of physical thing or separate existence within us. I believe that the mind and brain work together and have a connection but they do not exist as the same thing. If everything were just measurable brain processes we would all act and feel the exact same way about every experience. We wouldn t use our consciousnessto differ between what is right or wrong when our brain sees and hears different situations. Take putting your hand on a burner for example, our brain tells us to put our hand on a burner, and we register that we are feeling pain and that it is painful but without or consciousness and our mind we wouldn t register to tell our brains to pull our hand away. Our mind takes experiences we have lived through to create our consciousness about different situations. Our mind is what makes everyone unique and our uniqueness is why we can t measure minds in a scientific manner. Our minds are based on our unique and personal lives. Answer by way of discussing colonialism, modernisation and economic development. Introduction 300 There is a distinct relationship between a nation s economic development and its historical colonial experiences. For centuries, colonial rulers, primarily from Europe, spread throughout the world, across the Americas, in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and began to transform the very fabric of a number of populations and thriving nations. Colonising nations introduced a plethora of technologies and took modern approaches to the integration into the global economy, which made substantial changes to the development of a large number of colonised countries. On the other hand, the monopolisation and exploitation of these cultures and economies spurred centuries of oppression and crippled the development of what has become known as the Global South. For many nations, the redirection of wealth and resources to the benefit of colonial nations triggered the end of economic success for what are now known as developing nations and caused massive inequality and social disparity for entire populations. In India, expected economic success was significantly stalled by European colonisers, with key aspects of its society and livelihood destroyed by foreign intervention. Alcohol Higher intake of alcohol increases the blood pressure. Reducing alcohol leads to fall in the systolic blood pressure. Stress Psychological or environmental stress play a part in the causes of hypertension. Direct effects of situations such as poverty, unemployment and poor education (stressors) are involved, as are other aspects of lifestyle that are linked to hypertension. Exercise Physical activity increases blood pressure, but people who exercise regularly have lower blood pressures.
