Social Process Theory Of Crime
Social Process theory views criminality as a socialization function. The theory explores how one
learns things through interactions with various organizations, institutions, and processes in society. It
also focuses on criminal behavior as being a learned behavior that affects every person regardless of
race, class, or gender. Social process theorists believe that socialization with key social institutions
help control human behavior, and that the most prominent elements are the individual s family, peer
group, school and church (Seigel, 2011, pg. 168). Thus, the key element in determining juvenile
behavior, is the socialization the juvenile receives at home, school, and in the community. Research
has constantly shown that the influence

Essay on Motorola Digital Strategy
Introduction
Motorola was first founded in 1928, making battery eliminators for household radios. In 1929 the
company designed and manufactured and car radios, then a new concept, and subsequent sales kept
the company afloat during the Great Depression of the 30s.
During the Second World War Motorola developed the Handie Talkie SCR536 handheld radio
transmitter and receiver, and icon of that conflict, and forefather of the mobile phone. In the 1970s,
together with AT T, Motorola started developing cellular networks, and in 1980 the company released
the world s first mobile phone, the DynaTAC phone. From then on the company because a household

Television Commercials Lazy Phone
Another notable marketing efforts was Motorola s Lazy Phone series of adverts. These television
commercials, which were also later uploaded on YouTube, featured five different everyday scenarios
and how lazy smartphones don t improve user experience. The Nav with Touchless Control
commercial portrays a driver, in the middle of nowhere, that s running low on gas, and emphasizes the
benefits of Touchless voice control over fumbling with one s phone while driving.
The campaigns created a new image for Motorola, and were aimed at very specific markets. The Moto
X and Moto G were aimed at people between 16 and 30 years of age, modern folks with a hipster ish
aesthetic looking for products that were an extension of their lives and themselves. Motorola also gave
itself a youthful, quirky, yet cutting edge aesthetic, one that s in stark contrast with the likes of
Samsung or HTC.
Online Social Media
Exploiting social media s various customer engagement and advertising opportunities, Motorola
maintains an active presence on various sites. Whilst every network has its own peculiarities and

Breast Cancer That Develops From Breast Tissue Essay
Breast cancer that develops from breast tissue. Signs of breast cancer may include a lump in the
breast, a change in breast shape, dimpling of the skin, fluid coming from the nipple, or a red scaly
patch of skin. In those with distant spread of the disease, there may be bone pain, swollen lymph
nodes, shortness of breath, or yellow skin.
Risk factors for developing breast cancer include: female sex, obesity, lack of physical exercise,
drinking alcohol, hormone replacement therapy during menopause, ionizing radiation, early age at
first menstruation, having children late or not at all, older age, and family history. About 10% of cases
are due to genes inherited from a person s parents. Breast cancer most commonly develops in cells
from the lining of milk ducts and the lobules that supply the ducts with milk. Cancers developing from
the ducts are known as ductal carcinomas, while those developing from lobules are known as lobular
carcinomas.
In addition, there are more than 18 other sub types of breast cancer. Some cancers develop from pre
invasive lesions such as ductal carcinoma in situ. The diagnosis of breast cancer is confirmed by
taking a biopsy of the concerning lump. Once the diagnosis is made, further tests are done to
determine if the cancer has spread beyond the breast and which treatments it may respond to.

Drones invading privacy
What s going on?
Graham Kerrisk spotted a small drone filming him through the window at his home in Masterton at 10
feet in the air. He knew the new multi rotor remote controlled craft belonged to his neighbour. At the
cost of $1600 it contained a live video feed, high resolution still camera and GPS. However Mr.
Kerrisk didn t find an apology acceptable enough for the drone s sneaky actions and went to find
answers from the police, but what he received was not the help he expected, however that didn t stop

(Option 2) Cause of action for invasion of privacy if the drone has a camera that has recorded private
activity, which could ultimately culminate in a temporary restraining order against the drone.
Option that is best and why.
Option 1 Cause of action for trespass might do the trick but is not effective enough to keep the drone
away from the property.
That s why I choose option 2 cause of action for invasion of privacy because with everything that
drones do, they are sure to include a camera so they can have that bird s eye view of what they re
wanting to video record or take pictures of, in relation to Mr. Kerrisk s case I m sure he would ve
chosen option 2 because the drone was filming him from outside his window, all of what the drone
captured would ve been enough for him to file a cause of action for invasion of privacy would ve been
better for him to select that option and at the same time wait for a reply from the Aviation NZ for their
response on what action to take up next with drones causing privacy concerns.

The Influence of the Sea in The Awakening Essay
The Influence of the Sea in The Awakening In Kate Chopin s novel, The Awakening, the female
protagonist, Edna Pontellier, learns about the world. Unfortunately for Edna, the world is defined in
terms of love and marriage. This female awakening is really an awakening to limitations (Bloom 43).
If read as a suicide, then Edna s last swim is a consequence of her awakening to the limitations of her
femaleness in a male dominant society. But on a metaphysical level, The Awakening s final scene can
be seen as Edna s ultimate gesture in trying to grasp the essence of her being. This essay will show
that Edna s spiritual journey both begins and ends in the sea.. In the early chapters, Edna is referred to
only as Mrs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sea, in this case, symbolizes samsara, the cyclical rebirths of existence, and is a product of
ignorance and the failure to recognize the impermanent nature of things. On the other shore lies
another rebirth. And it is by the sea that Kate Chopin first pulls Edna out from the narrative and gives
her an ego by referring to her by her given name and, after walking through a sea of grass, recounts
Edna s previous love interests the cavalry officer, a young gentleman, and the tragedian attachments of
previous reincarnations. In other words, Edna s self is born here by inward contemplation , with the
aid of the seductive odor and sonorous murmur of the sea and its loving but imperative entreaty
(Chopin 56 7). The objects of her previous attachments were men, or perhaps her desire for the men of
her past. In Edna s present lifetime on Grand Isle, her attachment is to Robert Lebrun, who draws
Edna s ego to its fullest from Chopin s narrative and makes Edna s suffering more intense and
tangible. Shortly after the reader meets Robert Lebrun and realizes that Edna Pontellier is strangely
drawn to the young man (Chopin 56) the seed of Edna s attachment is thus planted Chopin prepares a

Electronic Health Record System Is No Exemption
Nothing is without any negative effect. Similarly the electronic patient record system is no exemption.
The critics have raised an important question of the benefits of the electronic health record system
towards both the health care and physicians. The critics have argued that though this electronic health
record system can help in saving money, but on the other hand it may not be a financially benefit to
the physicians who opt to buy the system. The price tags for electronic health record system vary and
depend largely on what is included and how vigorous it is.
Although it is believed that EHR system has made fast availability of data with much more accuracy
and reliability, however on the other hand the physicians have argued upon the ... Show more content

Therefore the debate on benefits versus cost of the EHR coming from the adopted technology is
highly controversial. Consequently the high price of the EHR system provides huge uncertainty about
the benefits that can be obtained after implementation of this system in terms of return on the
investments (www...1). Thereby influencing the adoption of this system to a great extent.
A survey conducted has pointed out that the physicians and the administrators, who are found to be
adopting the EHR system, have highlighted that the benefits in the efficiency were counterbalanced by
the reduction in the productivity (www...1). Above all the need to grow the staff in the information
technology department to maintain and support the system has also offset the benefits gained from it.
Arguably the hospitals in Karachi have argued to a large extent that the cost saving achieved by the
implementation of the EHR system may not be gained in small physicians clinic as it is believed that
the cost lowering benefit may only occur in large extensive integrated organizations.
Arguably this EHR system can prove to be a financial burden in the small physicians clinic if they
adopt this system (Ackerman, 2011). Although it is widely accepted that the development and
implementation of the electronic health record could lower the cost to a significant level at large
integrated setups and eventually this cost saving could ignore the cost, however still a large number of

Drugs And Its Effects On America
Drugs are a major issue in America. They are imported from all around the world, but they are mostly
brought across the Mexican border. Even though they are a major concern, nobody is doing anything
about it. In the year 2015 nearly 47,000 have died from an overdose. Why is this epidemic of drugs
being flown into America being ignored? Is the election between Hilary and Trump for the presidency
a bigger picture than drugs and drug related crime? Will Trump s idea of building a wall actually help
decrease illegal immigration, and decrease the amount of narcotics brought into the U.S? Drugs
coming from Mexico have also been an issue and we have continuously reduced the amount of drugs
from being smuggled into the United states, but not all of them. Drugs are obviously a big issue in
America, even if it is being overlooked. Not only are the Drugs killing people but the fight over them
is also creating crime. People on the streets have been fighting over drugs for as long as they have
been here. They re not only fighting over the drugs but they re also killing for them. Why do we allow
for such damage to occur in the U.S. when it can be stopped? There is one solution for this drastic
issue, legalize the drugs. If a whole percentage is being controlled and distributed by the government,
people will not fight over them which will lead to lower rates of crime. Alternatively, a good way to
lower overdoses is to put a tax on them. Charge an extra tax, for example cigarettes, tax

The Current State Of The Cambodian Traditional Music...
Although the scholarly research is able to see the current state of the Cambodian traditional music
revival and the large impact of cultural music education, it fails to see the external benefits of this
music that promotes a culture of peace, global citizenship, and appreciation of cultural diversity and
its contribution to sustainable development .29 This cultural benefit is one of the biggest answers to
the question of why this music education and the survival of traditional music is important. Despite
the lack of coverage this element receives from most scholarly research, it has been widely recognized
by United Nations, the NGOs working in these projects, and through regular reporting from onlookers.
First of all, UNESCO recognized the importance of traditional Khemer performing arts and the
education of those arts through several projects.30 Secondy, the NGOs who work on teaching
traditional music have reported therapeutic values that their students have gained, leading to a more
sustainable lifestyle for those affected by the trauma that has impacted Cambodia.31 Outside writers
have also observed the ways in which music education and revival can positively impact the country
in the aforementioned ways.
Between 2001 2002, UNESCO, along with Japan Funds in Trust implemented a project known as
Rehabilitation of Cambodian Performing Arts: Preservation and Promotion of the Intangible Cultural

The Key Causes Of The Great Depression
The Great Depression The great depression is one of the most severe international economic crises
that preside after the Great War and before World War 2. The key factors that were considered to be
the cause of the depression were overproduction and underconsumption.
The boom and bust
The rapid economic expansion or the Jazz Age brought great tides and social changes in the U.S.
However, the Roaring Twenties ended with hints of depressions and leaded to the stock market crash

historians and economists. Growth in automobile industry, consumer exuberance, technology
advancement, labour productivity, scientific management and soaring mass production.

Abstract
Purpose
The purpose of this experiment was to prepare isoamyl acetate from isoamyl alcohol and glacial acetic
acid by Fischer esterification.
Introduction Esters are derivatives of carboxylic acids. Instead of having the COOH group, an ester
will include an alkoxy substituent which is a hydrocarbon group of some kind attached to the oxygen
molecule ( OR) (1, 2). Esters emit fruity smells and are widely used as flavor enhancers or fragrances.

Next, 0.809 g of isoamyl alcohol was added to the vial and weighed. The difference of these two
weights was recorded and considered the precise mass of the alcohol. A total of 2 mL of glacial acetic
acid was added to the vial. Three drops of concentrated H2SO4 and a boiling chip were added to the
vial. The vial was attached to a clamp and rested in a sand bath that ranged between 150 160°C. A
cold, damp kim wipe was placed around the tip of the vial to act as a condenser. The mixture was
refluxed for one hour. Once the hour passed, the reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and
the sand bath was turned off. After the boiling chip was removed from the vial, 1 mL of 5% sodium
hydrogen carbonate (NaHCO3) was slowly added to the reaction mixture, capped and swirled. The
vial was shaken to mix the contents and the cap was removed to release the pressure. This was
repeated until the bubbles were no longer produced. A Pasteur pipet was used to remove the aqueous
layer which was disposed in a test tube labeled Aqueous Layer . The extraction of the upper organic
layer was repeated two more times with new 1 mL portions of 5% NaHCO3, placing the aqueous layer
in the labeled test tube each

What Is The Positive Impact Of The Stock Market Crash Of 1929
In the years leading up to 1929, the American economy was thriving and stock trade sales were at their

building off their fortunes. The people of the United States had never lived through such a time, so

Whereas new media can be combinations of several forms, such as it can contain words, audio, video,

better way. The third difference is that traditional media only broadcasts a message. New Media brings
people into a conversation. More specifically, new media is an open communication, it permits all
people to respond and interact with material directly. New media also gives people real power to
create, express, even produce their own ideas. For example, a sightseer or a reader can leave their

information producer , and how or what it says. New media is more friendly, more humane, and more
people centered, than traditional media. The final difference is about manipulating information. It s

Expanding Our Lunch Period Essay
Expanding our Lunch Period
We re talking about our kids futures. Our schools need to be teaching our kids how to be healthy.
Nadine Burke Harris. Nadine Burke is an American pediatrician. She is the founder and CEO of the
Center for Youth Wellness. This facility focuses on children who have had bad childhood experiences.
Mrs. Harris is an educated woman on what children need to have in order to be healthy so we should
take her advice. A thirty minute lunch period is too short, therefore we should make it longer.
Students cannot finish their lunch in the amount of time we are given which causes us to be wasteful.
Since lunch is only thirty minutes, I do not have enough time to finish my lunch. For example, if I
have a sandwich in my lunch, I end up throwing at least half of it into the garbage. Throwing half of
your lunch out is not only wasting the food, but the money you spent. If my dad knew how much of
my lunch I wasted he would not be happy because he is buying my food. Children in Africa don t have
enough food to nourish their bodies, meanwhile we are wasting perfectly good food that could save a
child s life in need of food. Every 5 seconds a child dies due to hunger and 1.3 billion tons of food is
wasted every year around the globe (in text citation). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Erikson s Theory On Development
From leaning objective 8.9, explains the development of the personality along with social
interpersonal skills, and the concept of the self from infancy to adulthood, I wanted to compare the
first five stages of Erikson s theory on development to Ken Wilber s first five stages of his nine stages,
that he calls spaces. The first five stages of Erikson s theory, which he notes as crisis, are trust versus
mistrust, autonomy versus shame and doubt, initiative versus guilt, industry versus inferiority, and
identity versus role confusion. The first four personal spaces, of Wilber s theory are the archaic, the
magical, or egocentric, the mythical, and the rational. Erikson s theory states that an emotional crisis
must be successfully met for normal development. Wilber s theory is similar in that he uses an
example of a multiple story building. If one stage isn t completely understood, but not mastered, then
that floor will end up leaning, and a building like that cannot be sustained for long before its structural
integrity is compromised. Erikson s theory is based that social interactions were the most important
thing to consider for healthy development of children. The first stage, starting from infancy on to 1
year of age, has the crisis of trust versus mistrust. This just means that they develop either of these
skills based on how well their needs are taken care of. The next crisis starts at 1 year of age up to 3
years of age, toddler age. This one is called autonomy

Irvine Welsh s latest novel The Blade Artist (released this year) was a novel that caught my eye while I

Frank Begbie was an interesting character for me because he has lived two different lives over his life

his original identity is obsessed with violence and loved to play tricks which would harm people.

interesting character and the idea People aren t always who they say they are . I would recommend
this novel to teenagers and adults because it would a very inapplicable novel for anyone younger. The
Blade Artist like I said wasn t your average Crime and Thriller novel but in the end, the read is

In Paul, the Spirit, and the People of God, Gordon Fee outlines a theology of the Spirit in the Divine
Trinity, the basis within Scripture for the experience of the Spirit, and the interaction of the two. Fee, a
Pentecostal scholar, redefines the terms of discussion about the Holy Spirit in a way that transcends
today s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, his call to know and experience God in a vitally Trinitarian way by the Spirit captures the very
essence of Paul s ministry and encapsulates the entire thesis of the book.
Fee completes his writings with his own conclusion: The Spirit must be reinstated into the Trinity,
where he has never been excluded in our creeds and liturgies, but has been practically excluded from
the experienced life of the church. Moreover, he argues that the very nature of the Triune God, as
being three yet one, must become the character of the church both in its oneness and in its function, by
the very application of the Spirit s threefold work of the Trinity. Without this experience, the witness
of the churches to the Resurrection today will remain generally ineffective in comparison with the
witness of the early Christians, though they lived in a culture very similar to ours. As the title of Fee s
book emphasizes, we are meant to find God s Spirit empowering for us in the present era while at the
same time awaiting the consummation of Christ s final return.
INTERACTION: FEE/ST. AUGUSTINE
As we look at the writings of both St. Gregory and Gordon Fee, we see both similarities and
differences. While Fee places more emphasis on the Holy Spirit in connection with Paul s ministry, St.
Gregory uses his eloquence to specifically defend the concept of the Holy Spirit

against the heresy of fellow clergy who deny the third person of the Trinity. Gregory states his

Effects Of Adhd On Children With Adhd
Andrew Youngers Ms. Aukes English II 17 September 2015 Overdiagnosis Of ADHD Medication
Four percent of all children in the United States Of America are diagnosed with ADHD ( When Will
America Just Say No ). From 2008 2012 the rate of children diagnosed with ADHD went up 30
percent ( While there are this many diagnoses not all of them are correctly given. Some people pretend
to have ADHD so that they can abuse the medicine with it. This is one of the reasons people are
divided at giving their child the medication and not. Although some people think their diagnoses is
correct, a lot of times it s not and it could be solved by making the test more complex because we don
t want children on medication they don t need, it can have harsh side effects, and pretty much anyone
who wants it can get it for their own reasons. The rate of children diagnosed with ADHD increases
every year. To be exact, on average it climbs 3 5% every year ( The Pill That Teachers Push ). It seems
like an epidemic, but this is not the case. Studies show that back when ADHD wasn t such wide spread
knowledge, there were a lot less people coming in believing their child has this disorder. Before
ADHD was an actual disorder that you could be diagnosed with, it was viewed as a moral problem
with the child. For a lot of the present day instances, it still is. It seems like more and more people are
trying to figure out why their child is not behaving and the parents seem to jump to the conclusion that

Different Types Of Business Ownership
Types of Business Ownership: Everything You Need to
Know
Before you can determine how you want to structure your business, you #39;ll need to know what
your options are. The below are your choices when it comes to running your business: sole
proprietorship, partnership, limited partnership, limited liability company (LLC), corporation (for
profit), nonprofit corporation, and cooperative. It is important that you choose the right structure for
your business as the type of structure you choose will affect how your business is organized, taxed,
and handled.
Sole Proprietorship

Limited Partnership. Limited partnerships, or limited liability partnerships, are created when 2 or more
individuals come together to form a partnership in which each partner is liable only for the amount of
money each one invested into the business. LLC
An LLC, or a limited liability company, is an attractive business structure for those not wanting to
have any personal liability for the company s losses. An LLC carries many benefits, including the
ability to operate as a sole person through a company in which you have no personal financial ties to
the losses that your company may incur. Therefore, should you lose a significant amount of money
thrugh your LLC, you will not be held personally liable, thus, your personal assets are protected at all
time. Furthermore, creating an LLC can help you gain popularity with the public if selling your
services or goods. It can also help you obtain loans or financial assistance should you need the help.
LLCs are formed under state laws which vary state by state when an individual files the Articles of
Organization with the Secretary of State s office in the state you choose to register. A name availability
check can be conducted on the Secretary of
State s website in order to ensure that the name is not currently being used. An LLC business owner is
required to report any changes in address, membership, or service and must also file an annual report

Shakespeare Relevance

Mrs. Jones
EA 5.2 Shakespeare s Relevance William Shakespeare has been one of the most influential poets in
history and has been called the universal philosopher. Shakespeare is still relevant today being that
people say that he can be a roadmap to humans. Some people claim that his plays are forced upon
students and they will hate Shakespeare. While this may be true for elementary students, ninth graders
benefit by studying about his works since they are capable. William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet
should be included in the ninth grade curriculum throughout the world because of his role of a global
figure and his influence on his audiences. Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet is an important role in the
ninth grade curriculum around the world because of his global influence. As stated by the Associated
Press, His plays in turn helped create the worldview of his audience, and have been influencing
audiences around the world ever since. The Associated Press talked about how Shakespeare s plays

Heroism In The Hobbit
Pattern of Heroism Fantasy author J.R.R Tolkien once said, All that is gold does not glitter, not all
those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the
frost. In one of Tolkien s best selling novels, The Hobbit, the main character Bilbo Baggins, who was
a timid and quiet creature, sets off on an adventure after being dragged out of his hobbit hole by
Gandalf and thirteen dwarves. With all starting out as a simple adventure, soon turned into a race
against time. Between saving the dwarves and battling the powerful dragon Smaug, Bilbo could see he
was slowly becoming a hero. Since The Hobbit was an adventure packed story, Tolkien modeled the
qualities of a hero and the plot leading to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before Bilbo and King Arthur become successful and almost everyone knows about them, they seem
as though they are secondary or minor characters. When Bilbo first gets noticed by Gandalf, he
becomes very apprehensive about the adventure, I am looking for someone to share in an adventure
that I am arranging, and it s very difficult to find anyone. I should think so in these parts! We are plain
quiet folk and have no use for adventures. Nasty .disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for
dinner! I can t think what anybody sees in them, said our Mr. Baggins, and stuck one thumb behind his
braces, and blew out another even bigger smokering. Then he took out his morning letters, and begin
to read, pretending to take no more notice of the old man. (The Hobbit) On the other hand in King
Arthur, just flat out nobody knows about Arthur, Then stood the kingdom in great jeopardy a long
while, for every lord strengthened himself, and many a one thought to be king rather than be ruled by
a child that they had never known. (King Arthur) Yet they seem very different, in both stories the
character at first is unknown. In order to get noticed, In The Hobbit, Bilbo is asked by Gandalf to
embark on a journey with Gandalf and the dwarves in order to retrieve back the treasure. In King
Arthur, Arthur brings back the sword to Sir Ector and he tells the

At first the issues were minor like a little too much hydrilla here and there, the gate not working, the
pool had a gator in it or the likes but over time as the community grew the issues grew, often gone
ignored by Ryland but not by the homeowners. The clubhouse and pool for example are strictly for
residents use but due to the gates being open during the day till evening, people giving out the security
code to get in after hours and big advertising which made tourists believe the community was meant
for vacationing in, even if one didn t live there or have family or friends they could stay with while
visiting it didn t keep them from taking advantage of overcrowding the pool and vandalism like
broken alcohol bottles near pool property. Teenagers who did not know better frequently hopped the
fence guarding the pool eventually busting parts of the fence, ruined the slide with obscenities like
skateboarding down it when it wasn t on and fishing in the lake when it s strictly prohibited due the
fish serving a weed control purpose. These people came to the community welcome or not, invitation
or none and their vandalism grew over time starting to make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Matrix And Neuromancer Comparison
Neuromancer came up with a novel approach towards science fiction, and was instrumental in
spawning multiple movies of similar genre. One of such movie is The Matrix . The reason I chose this
movie for the review is the very concept of stimulated reality in this movie being quite analogous to
the one slowly budding towards the end in the Neuromancer.
The Matrix is a sci fi heavily reliant on the theme of cyber culture and cyber punk. Like Case, Neo too
is a computer hacker, but the similarity ends there. While Case is clearly an anti hero, Neo flies pretty
close to being an ideal hero. Neo which is also an anagram of One is the one prophesied by the Oracle
to bring in the destruction of the matrix and usher in the freedom of mankind. While ... Show more

Personally, I found the issue of free will most pervasive throughout the movie. Like Neuromancer, in
the Matrix, it is the AI who are calling all the shots. But unlike The Matrix , free will is not
particularly significant in Neuromancer. Mostly, because people are yet to imagine a world in its
absence. Even the characters reaction to their respective universe is quite distinct. Though Case
seemed like an anti establishment character, he follows the orders given by the AI, Wintermute
without much hesitation. In Contrast to this, except when hacking, Neo is a perfect law abiding citizen
who pays his taxes. Yet, he is the one who subsequently leads revolution against the AI. Free will
seems almost pivotal to the overall delivery of The Matrix . Even though Neo had already made up his
mind to explore the truth as soon as he decided not to get out of car, there is a famous scene with
Morpheus and the pills. The scene is particularly significant as it reinforces the view that choice is
everything. Morpheus provided Neo with two pills. The red pill would allow him to explore the truth
while the blue pill would make all this complications disappear. Even though Morpheus truly believed
that Neo was the only one who could save mankind, he gave Neo a

Neuromuscular Junction Case Study
Introduction The neuromuscular junction (NMJ) is a specialized communication synaptic area where
an electrical nerve impulse is converted into an electrical stimulation, and once this process is
executed, a muscle contraction is generated (Boron, Boulpaep, Mocydiowski, 2012, p. 216).
Lamentably, there are autoimmune disorders that disrupt the function of the NMJ leading to various
neuromuscular disorders. In this midterm assignment, I will be presenting a rare autoimmune disease
that alters the function of the NMJ resulting in a condition known as Myasthenia Gravis (MG). MG is
an incessant autoimmune neuromuscular disease identified by fluctuating periods of a weakness of the
skeletal muscles of the body. The National Institute of Neurological ... Show more content on

Nonetheless, Angelini (2011, p. 5) illustrated the following physical and laboratory testing to solidify
the diagnosis of MG: First is pharmacological testing using a drug Edrophonium which is an
acetylcholinesterase inhibitor that improves MG related weakness, followed by serological testing to
check the presence of antibody associated with MG (Seronegative or seropositive MG), followed by
electrophysiological testing to assay the muscle depolarization response, for MG patient s, this
reaction is altered and reduced. And finally, using an imaging studies. As indicated by Sathasivam
(2014, p. 10), all MG patients will need an imaging studies of the thorax to investigate for thymoma
(tumor of the thymus gland) or thymic hyperplasia. Furthermore, the researcher suggested that
imaging of the mediastinum should be reassessed in the setting of an MG deterioration following a
period of dormancy of the disease since the possibility of thymoma may occur near the latter part of
the condition. Nasseri Eftekhari (2010, p. 413) describes the appearances of thymus on various
imaging modalities. On a frontal chest x ray of young child (Figure 1), the thymus is notably
significant but difficult to see due

The Ethical Treatment Of Circus Animals
The circus can be dated back to as far as 1782 in Paris, France where people came to enjoy family
friendly entertainment. The circus has always included tricks and stunts by not only people but also
highly trained animals. For decades now, people have considered the treatment of animal
performances in the circus cruel and unjust. Protesters argue that animals are stripped from their native
lands and forced to preform shows, meanwhile being treated harshly and abused by the human circus
performers. Tigers, elephants, and other animals are trained and forced to entertain audiences by
standing on their heads, jumping through hoops, and doing balance tricks. Spectators have considered
this a spiteful treatment of animals, for it is often physically challenging and frightening to the animal
performers. There have been reports of circus trainers abusing animal performers with whips, muzzles,
and other painful tools. Today, protestors are fighting for animal s rights and against the use of animals
in circuses . Protesters are objecting to animal circus performers, purely because of the belief that
these animals are being forced to do impossible stunts, are in confined areas, and are abused with
painful tools. One of the biggest frustrations of protesters is the fact that circus animals are held in
constant confinement. Protest organization The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)
explains how circus animals in confinement during travel, are forced to inside inhumane

Hypospadias Essay
Your first patient this week has a problem of the genitourinary tract that has plagued him since birth.
Hypospadias is a birth deficiency of the penis that generally has four characteristics: The urethral
opening is located on the underneath the penis, instead of the tip, and may exit the penis anywhere
along its shaft as high as the scrotum. The urethral opening is remarkably narrow. The entire foreskin
may be gathered on the topside of the penis. The penis itself may also be curved to one side.
Hypospadias is noticed at birth; however, if the abnormalities are mild it may be harder to diagnosis
and may be diagnosis later. Hypospadias is corrected with surgery, usually when the patient is between
six and 18 months old. The purpose of the surgery is to reposition the ... Show more content on

there is no cure for PCOS but hormone therapy can help regulate your menstrual cycle or clear up

Tocqueville thought that individualism could be associated with individual value, dignity, happiness,
interests and freedom. At the same time, he endowed it into relatively complete theoretical
connotations (Alexis de Tocqueville, 1988). Firstly, it emphasizes the ultimate purpose is for
individual interests. Society is just a tool that serves people. Secondly, it stresses on individual
freedom and democracy. Thirdly, it points out from personal view the rightness of privatization of
property. American historian Commager thought that individualism eventually became the synonym
of Americanism (1988). In the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English of the 1997 edition,
individualism is defined as two concepts. One is the belief that the rights and freedom of individual
people are the most important rights in a society. The other is the behavior or attitude of someone who
does things in their own way without being influenced by other people. On the contrary, individualism
is defined as pejorative connotation in The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary (2005). It points out that
individualism means some people who just care about their own interests instead of collective
interests, which is not a right idea. By the analysis of the definition of individualism it s clear that the
pattern of Chinese culture stresses people s inner world and embodies in

  • 2. Social Process Theory Of Crime Social Process theory views criminality as a socialization function. The theory explores how one learns things through interactions with various organizations, institutions, and processes in society. It also focuses on criminal behavior as being a learned behavior that affects every person regardless of race, class, or gender. Social process theorists believe that socialization with key social institutions help control human behavior, and that the most prominent elements are the individual s family, peer group, school and church (Seigel, 2011, pg. 168). Signs of breast cancer may include a lump in the breast, a change in breast shape, dimpling of the skin, fluid coming from the nipple, or a red scaly patch of skin. The Influence of the Sea in The Awakening Essay The Influence of the Sea in The Awakening In Kate Chopin s novel, The Awakening, the female protagonist, Edna Pontellier, learns about the world. Unfortunately for Edna, the world is defined in terms of love and marriage. This female awakening is really an awakening to limitations (Bloom 43). If read as a suicide, then Edna s last swim is a consequence of her awakening to the limitations of her femaleness in a male dominant society. But on a metaphysical level, The Awakening s final scene can be seen as Edna s ultimate gesture in trying to grasp the essence of her being. In other words, Edna s self is born here by inward contemplation , with the aid of the seductive odor and sonorous murmur of the sea and its loving but imperative entreaty (Chopin 56 7). In Edna s present lifetime on Grand Isle, her attachment is to Robert Lebrun, who draws Edna s ego to its fullest from Chopin s narrative and makes Edna s suffering more intense and tangible. Even though they are a major concern, nobody is doing anything about it. In the year 2015 nearly 47,000 have died from an overdose. Why is this epidemic of drugs being flown into America being ignored? Is the election between Hilary and Trump for the presidency a bigger picture than drugs and drug related crime? Will Trump s idea of building a wall actually help decrease illegal immigration, and decrease the amount of narcotics brought into the U.S? Drugs coming from Mexico have also been an issue and we have continuously reduced the amount of drugs from being smuggled into the United states, but not all of them. Drugs are obviously a big issue in America, even if it is being overlooked. Not only are the Drugs killing people but the fight over them is also creating crime. People on the streets have been fighting over drugs for as long as they have been here. They re not only fighting over the drugs but they re also killing for them. Why do we allow for such damage to occur in the U.S. when it can be stopped? There is one solution for this drastic issue, legalize the drugs. If a whole percentage is being controlled and distributed by the government, people will not fight over them which will lead to lower rates of crime. Erikson s Theory On Development From leaning objective 8.9, explains the development of the personality along with social interpersonal skills, and the concept of the self from infancy to adulthood, I wanted to compare the first five stages of Erikson s theory on development to Ken Wilber s first five stages of his nine stages, that he calls spaces. The first five stages of Erikson s theory, which he notes as crisis, are trust versus mistrust, autonomy versus shame and doubt, initiative versus guilt, industry versus inferiority, and identity versus role confusion. The first four personal spaces, of Wilber s theory are the archaic, the magical, or egocentric, the mythical, and the rational. Erikson s theory states that an emotional crisis must be successfully met for normal development. Wilber s theory is similar in that he uses an example of a multiple story building. If one stage isn t completely understood, but not mastered, then that floor will end up leaning, and a building like that cannot be sustained for long before its structural integrity is compromised. Erikson s theory is based that social interactions were the most important thing to consider for healthy development of children. The first stage, starting from infancy on to 1 year of age, has the crisis of trust versus mistrust. This just means that they develop either of these skills based on how well their needs are taken care of. The next crisis starts at 1 year of age up to 3 years of age, toddler age. Finally, his call to know and experience God in a vitally Trinitarian way by the Spirit captures the very essence of Paul s ministry and encapsulates the entire thesis of the book. Fee completes his writings with his own conclusion: The Spirit must be reinstated into the Trinity, where he has never been excluded in our creeds and liturgies, but has been practically excluded from the experienced life of the church. Moreover, he argues that the very nature of the Triune God, as being three yet one, must become the character of the church both in its oneness and in its function, by the very application of the Spirit s threefold work of the Trinity. Without this experience, the witness of the churches to the Resurrection today will remain generally ineffective in comparison with the witness of the early Christians, though they lived in a culture very similar to ours. As the title of Fee s book emphasizes, we are meant to find God s Spirit empowering for us in the present era while at the same time awaiting the consummation of Christ s final return. From 2008 2012 the rate of children diagnosed with ADHD went up 30 percent ( While there are this many diagnoses not all of them are correctly given. Some people pretend to have ADHD so that they can abuse the medicine with it. This is one of the reasons people are divided at giving their child the medication and not. Although some people think their diagnoses is correct, a lot of times it s not and it could be solved by making the test more complex because we don t want children on medication they don t need, it can have harsh side effects, and pretty much anyone who wants it can get it for their own reasons. The rate of children diagnosed with ADHD increases every year. To be exact, on average it climbs 3 5% every year ( The Pill That Teachers Push ). It seems like an epidemic, but this is not the case. Studies show that back when ADHD wasn t such wide spread knowledge, there were a lot less people coming in believing their child has this disorder. Before ADHD was an actual disorder that you could be diagnosed with, it was viewed as a moral problem with the child. For a lot of the present day instances, it still is. One of such movie is The Matrix . The reason I chose this movie for the review is the very concept of stimulated reality in this movie being quite analogous to the one slowly budding towards the end in the Neuromancer. The Matrix is a sci fi heavily reliant on the theme of cyber culture and cyber punk. Like Case, Neo too is a computer hacker, but the similarity ends there. While Case is clearly an anti hero, Neo flies pretty close to being an ideal hero. Neo which is also an anagram of One is the one prophesied by the Oracle to bring in the destruction of the matrix and usher in the freedom of mankind. While ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Personally, I found the issue of free will most pervasive throughout the movie. Like Neuromancer, in the Matrix, it is the AI who are calling all the shots. But unlike The Matrix , free will is not particularly significant in Neuromancer. Mostly, because people are yet to imagine a world in its absence. Even the characters reaction to their respective universe is quite distinct. Though Case seemed like an anti establishment character, he follows the orders given by the AI, Wintermute without much hesitation. In Contrast to this, except when hacking, Neo is a perfect law abiding citizen who pays his taxes. Yet, he is the one who subsequently leads revolution against the AI. Free will seems almost pivotal to the overall delivery of The Matrix . Even though Neo had already made up his mind to explore the truth as soon as he decided not to get out of car, there is a famous scene with Morpheus and the pills. The scene is particularly significant as it reinforces the view that choice is everything. Morpheus provided Neo with two pills. The red pill would allow him to explore the truth while the blue pill would make all this complications disappear. Even though Morpheus truly believed that Neo was the only one who could save mankind, he gave Neo a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Neuromuscular Junction Case Study Introduction The neuromuscular junction (NMJ) is a specialized communication synaptic area where an electrical nerve impulse is converted into an electrical stimulation, and once this process is executed, a muscle contraction is generated (Boron, Boulpaep, Mocydiowski, 2012, p. 216). Lamentably, there are autoimmune disorders that disrupt the function of the NMJ leading to various neuromuscular disorders. In this midterm assignment, I will be presenting a rare autoimmune disease that alters the function of the NMJ resulting in a condition known as Myasthenia Gravis (MG). MG is an incessant autoimmune neuromuscular disease identified by fluctuating periods of a weakness of the skeletal muscles of the body. The National Institute of Neurological ... The circus has always included tricks and stunts by not only people but also highly trained animals. For decades now, people have considered the treatment of animal performances in the circus cruel and unjust. Protesters argue that animals are stripped from their native lands and forced to preform shows, meanwhile being treated harshly and abused by the human circus performers. Tigers, elephants, and other animals are trained and forced to entertain audiences by standing on their heads, jumping through hoops, and doing balance tricks. Spectators have considered this a spiteful treatment of animals, for it is often physically challenging and frightening to the animal performers. There have been reports of circus trainers abusing animal performers with whips, muzzles, and other painful tools. Today, protestors are fighting for animal s rights and against the use of animals in circuses . Protesters are objecting to animal circus performers, purely because of the belief that these animals are being forced to do impossible stunts, are in confined areas, and are abused with painful tools. One of the biggest frustrations of protesters is the fact that circus animals are held in constant confinement. At the same time, he endowed it into relatively complete theoretical connotations (Alexis de Tocqueville, 1988). Firstly, it emphasizes the ultimate purpose is for individual interests. Society is just a tool that serves people. Secondly, it stresses on individual freedom and democracy. Thirdly, it points out from personal view the rightness of privatization of property. American historian Commager thought that individualism eventually became the synonym of Americanism (1988). In the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English of the 1997 edition, individualism is defined as two concepts. One is the belief that the rights and freedom of individual people are the most important rights in a society. The other is the behavior or attitude of someone who does things in their own way without being influenced by other people. On the contrary, individualism is defined as pejorative connotation in The Contemporary Chinese Dictionary (2005).
