Experiential Marketing Paper
Pick a major professional sports team that is located near you. Describe how the professional team
could use the four E s of experiential marketing to design experiential marketing programs.
A major professional sports team about 20 minutes from where I reside is the Washington Wizards. In
regards to entertainment experience, the Wizards can use their arena that consists of sporting events
and concerts to absorb senses through people. With those two different types of events in their arena,
people are able to use their eyes while watching a basketball game or use their ears while listening to
various performers at a concert. Another method could be the Washington Wizards head coach Scott

The whole concept of this is for customers to be so immersed in the sporting environment by getting

attendance can receive a free Chick fil A sandwich by showing their ticket stub. At this sporting event,
the players are able to create the environment which I think is awesome. This experience gives users

Nutrition and Health:
Underdeveloped and Developed Nations
Despite the vast research on nutrition and health, malnutrition is still a major fatality in this present
day. Policymakers, social scientist and medical experts have expressed alarm about the growing
problem. While most agree that the issue deserves attention, consensus dissolves around how to
respond and resolve the problem. Malnourishment continues to be a primary health liability in
developing nations such as Asia, sub Saharan Africa and Latin America. It is globally the most
significant risk factor for illness and death, predominantly with hundreds of millions of pregnant

Unsafe water supplies are often contaminated with infectious agents, toxic chemicals, and radiological
hazards. In 2000, the World Health Organization and UNICEF identified some 2.4 billion people who
did not have basic sanitation facilities, and 1.1 billion people without a safe drinking water supply.
(Wagner, 2009) Some communities experienced diarrhea, caused by a variety of parasites, viruses, and
bacteria that infect people as a result of contaminated drinking water or poor hygiene. In India, more
than 500,000 children die from diarrhea every year. Like other tropical diseases, when diarrhea does
not kill, it weakens, leaving people more susceptible to other infections, such as tuberculosis and HIV.

Lack of Prenatal and Postnatal Education
Breastfeeding is the single most effective nutritional strategy for protecting infants against infections
and diseases. Three mechanisms have been proposed by which human milk constituents protect the
infant from infection. Two are based on the immunologic constituents of human milk and the third is
its high nutrient value. (National Academy Press, 1992) In LDCs the health of many children are
significantly impaired, sometimes permanently, by the lack of nutrition they received during the
breastfeeding phase. Breastfeeding requires a mother to have a specific diet. In the industrialized

The Aunts Realization Of Lying
The Aunts Realization of the Positives of Lying In the story Was it Heaven or Hell by Mark Twain it
portrays the worst sin to be lying. In it a lie had no place. In it a lie was unthinkable (Twain 29). What
this quote is telling me the aunts think that lying is unacceptable they think it is totally wrong and if
you lie you go to hell. When the perfect daughter lies the aunts were furious. They insisted on the
daughter confessing. So they went to ill mother in the hospital. Tell your mother all. Purge your soul.
Leave nothing unconfessed. (Twain 31). The aunts believe that if you tell a lie and don t confess it

NCIS Episode 14
The first two February episodes of NCIS were two great episodes. Episode 14 had a rather interesting
case where a body was stuck in a pressurized chamber, while episode 15 saw the daughter of SecNav
being kidnapped.
Epsiode 13.14 Decompressed
The episode opens aboard a dive vessel, where a man named Diego de la Rosa freaks out. He and his
three co workers are in a pressurized chamber that can t be opened for four days or else the four all
die. They all put on their masks, but De la Rosa dies shortly thereafter. The NCIS team is called in, but
they have a problem since they cannot open the chamber to investigate the body. However, waiting for
four days isn t an option since it will erase the evidence of de De la Rosa s death. So Ducky instructs
the co workers how to perform an unorthodox autopsy through the glass. With that evidence, Abby
discovers that the victim had a high dosis of liquid cocaine in his blood, which had a red color. She
also finds out that he died after breathing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

ocean. However, the closets are leaking and the team suspects they are used to hide liquid cocaine for
a drug cartel. De la Rosa must have discovered that and that was the reason he was killed. The three
divers inside again start turning on each other, and Meredith and Sam suspect Jalen is the murderer
and they tie him up. Two days later, the chamber finally opens and Meredith is arrested. Turns out she

Sucrose And Fermentation
As expected, the hypothesis stated before the experiment was proven correct because the different
substrates did have an effect on the rate of fermentation in the yeast cells (Table 2). However, the
predictions of how each substrate would affect the rate of fermentation were not illustrated in the
results of this experiment. For example, before the experiment it was predicted that the substrate
glucose would produce the highest rate of fermentation, but the flask containing glucose along with
the yeast cells, flask two, had a lower rate of fermentation than two other flasks.
Despite the fact that glucose as a substrate produced less carbon dioxide than two of the other
substrates, it is important to note that it did produce more carbon ... Show more content on

Food and drink such as alcohol and bread rely on the process of alcoholic fermentation, so the most
efficient substrate is an important factor for quick production of these products (Aidoo et al., 2006).
For example, bread uses alcoholic fermentation to make the dough of the bread rise and alcohol is the
main product of alcoholic fermentation. Based on the findings of this experiment, I would suggest
using glucose before fructose as substrate for this process and sucrose before maltose based purely on
their rates of fermentation. However, further testing should be done to test the rate of fermentation
over a longer period of time as this experiment was completed after only twenty minutes of
fermentation. It would also be interesting to test other effects of the substrates such as their effect on
the taste of the products in the food industry which utilize alcoholic

Teen Magazine Advertisements
The whole world has seen ads in magazines where the attractive blond haired person is showing off a
bathing suit and a beefy man is looking right at her. Ads like these are misleading due to the impact
they put in teen minds. Young teenagers and boys are influenced everyday by these advertisements.
Young woman wants to be slimmer and look attractive, the truth is modeling in teen magazine ads
have harmful body images. The figures seen in magazine advertisements drive young woman and
young boys to put their own body at risk and go beyond what is healthy to attain a certain image of
perfection. Teen magazines should forbid advertisements with models with unhealthy body images,
causing teens to doubt their own self worth (Peterson, 1994).
Teenagers want to have the perfect body, Magazines are full of the idea of perfect models who have
what one would distinguish us, a perfect body. When young girls see what they believe is perfection,
they go to risky lengths to accomplish that look. With healthy models, teens can lift their self esteem
by working hard to accomplish a goal without going to extreme measures. Extreme measures can be
harmful to physical health. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Magna Carta Argumentative Essay
In a few months, we will be commemorating the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta
commemorating, but not celebrating; rather, mourning the blows it has suffered. The first authoritative
scholarly edition of Magna Carta was published by the eminent jurist William Blackstone in 1759. It
was no easy task. As he wrote, the body of the charter has been unfortunately gnawn by rats a
comment that carries grim symbolism today, as we take up the task the rats left unfinished. Blackstone
s edition actually includes two charters: the Great Charter and the Charter of the Forest. The former is
generally regarded as the foundation of Anglo American law in Winston Churchill s words, referring
to its reaffirmation by Parliament in 1628, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no slight irony in the fact that their major allies throughout the world are the surviving
indigenous communities that have upheld their own versions of the Charter of the Forest. In Canada,
the Gitxaala First Nation is filing a lawsuit opposing a tar sands pipeline passing through its territory,
relying on recent high court rulings on indigenous rights. In Ecuador, the large indigenous community
played an essential part in the government s offer to keep some of its oil in the ground, where it should
be, if the rich countries would compensate Ecuador for a fraction of the lost profits. (The offer was
refused.) The one country governed by an indigenous majority, Bolivia, held a World People s
Conference in 2010, with 35,000 participants from 140 countries. It produced a People s Agreement
calling for sharp reductions in emissions, as well as a Universal Declaration on the Rights of Mother

Healthcare.gov is a government market place for insurance companies to list their plans coverage and
cost, and a one stop shopping place for consumers that are not insured nor have sufficient healthcare
coverage.
First a little background history about the Healthcare.gov website. Right after President Obama signed
the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) into law in March 2010, which is an
individual and employer mandate that requires every person have access to an affordable health
insurance plan that is not based on gender or pre existing health conditions. The key to making this
program work is to get a large number of young uninsured to pay into an insurance plan that will keep
premiums low for the majority that are enrolled in an insurance plan, called pooling , which is defined
as grouping resources together to get the greatest advantage and limit risk for all users in an insurance
plan.
The hope is that young adults who are uninsured are between the ages of 18 and 34 who use fewer
healthcare services, will pay lower premiums and use preventive health care services to lower their
chances of needing high cost treatment in the future. The pooling of their premium payments is
expected to take care of the healthcare cost of an elderly adult with multiple healthcare conditions that

breeze blowing in her hair and the view of the water. While she was walking, she found a glass bottle,
with a light brown cork as the cover. She opened it, and a message flew out of it.
It said, There is an underwater island, in the middle of the ocean, I need someone to find it and rise it
so that the sun and the moon is balanced. She didn t understand what the message meant, but she
thinks it s a great challenge, and she loves challenges. This challenge would show that she is a risk

Adolescent Delinquency And Conduct Disorder
Adolescence is a transitional stage of physical and psychological human development that generally
occurs during the period from puberty to legal adulthood. ( Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, p. 3)
Aggression is defined as a forceful action or procedure especially when intended to dominate or
master. (Merriam Webster Dictionary) Aggressive behavior can be either impulsive reacting to a
trigger or proactive which can be premeditated. Aggressive behaviors can vary from problems with
emotional regulation to severe and manipulative behaviors. There are various characteristics of

(Zahrt Melzer Lane, 2011, p. 3) Glick and Gibbs developed aggression Replacement Training, a
comprehensive intervention for aggressive youth. Glick uses a four step process to teach adolescents
social skills. First, he shows them the particular behavior, such as saying thank you, asking for help,
complaining, apologizing, giving instructions, asking permission, standing up for your rights, and
setting a goal. Next he gives the youth a chance to try the skill by role playing. Afterwards, Glick
discusses the role play with the teen. Over a period of days or weeks, many skills are acted out.
Gradually, the adolescent becomes comfortable using new social skills, and is more likely to use them
effectively in real life to avoid trouble (Glick, 1996). In the fourth step, the adolescent is expected to
use the skill in actual situations where he or she might otherwise have resorted to violence (Glick,
1996). Glick s program also teaches specific ways to handle anger. The adolescent must learn the
following skills. Identifying triggers: external and internal events that provoke anger (such as people
saying no or insulting us [external] and fears that I m not good enough or feeling confused [internal].
Identifying cues: physical signs of youth s own anger tightened muscles

In the government, PERT is especially useful when the tasks are executed by multiple agencies or
independent divisions with specialized expertise while it usually points out the most effective way to
coordinate. Since time is the key issue of PERT, it relies on the subjective estimates of the managers

interrelationships among participants for the comprehensive evaluation. Yet, a PERT network is a
graphic representation of simple process but it has limited capability to explain detailed information.
Hence, a flowchart, developed from PERT network is adopted to represent a process with sequencing

Essay A Decision Made
Across the period of one s life, decisions are made, consequences are endured, and rewards are
accepted. In most instances, one does not think before they act on possible actions or decisions;
however it is the rare few that do think, and do realize the cause and effect of decisions about to be
made.
Margaret Sanger was an advocate for women s rights, a nurse, a feminist, and most important she
offered women information about contraceptives, something that was relatively hidden from many
women in the early 1900 s. Margaret Sanger may have single handily changed the fact that women
would achieve personal freedom by experiencing their sexuality free of consequence (Margaret
Sanger, 1).

An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge had a decision made by Fraquhar that knowingly went against
the opposing side of where he stood. Like Sanger who went against Comstock laws, Fraquhar
interfered with troops. Although Fraquhar knew his punishment would be death if caught, he was
willing to risk it, and eventually was put to death because of his actions. Sanger also knew going
against Comstock could result in possible jail time, which she did receive for her actions.
In The Censors, Juan knowingly risked being caught by becoming a censor, in hopes of getting his
letter through to his loved one. Although he knew what would happen if he was caught smuggling his
letter in, he was more then willing to take the risk. Juan s boss acknowledged his hard work, soon he

absorbing that his original purpose for being a censor was blurred (Valenzuela, 653). While he

censored pile, causing his death the very next morning. The theory that giving someone a little power
can eventually lead to destruction is evident in Juan s case. Although Sanger wasn t given power, she
made people knew who she was, and she was empowering women. She strived to get information out,
create an oral contraceptive, and have a place that women could eventually go to. She dedicated

Growth Strategies, Innovation, Alliances, and Execution
Capella University
Introduction
Thompson Strickland (2013) believes that a successful organization s strategy depends on people,
capabilities, structure, and execution. Important as well are growth and innovation (P.. 286), which
allows an organization to remain competitive.
Growth strategies arise from an organization s SWOT where clear guidelines identify areas of focus.
Achieving this requires innovation and alliances on products and services that will create a
competitive advantage. Successfully execution requires a strategic manager who can effectively and
successfully drive strategic objectives, then report its performance to the leadership team (Thompson

Pfizer s SWOT Analysis (Pfizer, 2013) Innovation theory define when new or existing, large or small
companies, individuals or groups identify, create and market new or existing products or services to
consumers ultimately disrupting an existing business or create value. Some ideas are born out of a
need that ultimately satisfies consumers and some are the next steps that dominate the market. Pfizer
innovative strategies provide new products such as Lipitor, Viagra, and Celebrex. When two or more
organizations create a formal agreement to work together for a specific purpose, they form an alliance.
Alliances offer organizations competitiveness in new business industries and shared responsibility in
experience and cost. Execution of a strategy allows an organization to identify a strategic manager or
management team who will be responsible for five key components: people, resources, structure,
systems and culture. The role of the strategic manager or management team is to implement and
monitor performance and report to company stakeholders on the status. Because strategy drives an
organization s success, the team should select managers who can aggressively drive the objectives to
achieve desired results through three actions:
1. Monitor the progress and performance of the strategic objectives by applying the

Crime Entertainment Satire
Let s say you went to your local bank to despot some checks and out of the corner of your eye you
notice a group of men storm into the bank like a bat out of hell, armed with assault rifles and wearing

Would the first thought that crosses your mind be, This is the coolest thing ever! or would you be

attracted to these aspects of crime portrayed in entertainment but we would do everything to avoid it

Compare And Contrast Rastafarianism And Buddhism
Around the world there are countless religions being practiced, and each retains their own set of
viewpoints on topics discussed throughout history. Today the two religions of focus are Rastafarianism
and Buddhism, and the topics are ecology, sustainability, and the environment. Whereas Buddhism
and Rastafarianism appear quite different in their terms of environmental greed, they show important
similarities in their values on sustainability and the physical environment. Before discussing their
values, a brief history on each religion, as one is widely known while the other has a much smaller
following. Buddhism began with the enlightenment of Buddha, at the early age of thirty five he awoke
from the sleep of delusion and chose to share his liberation with those whom he used to suffer with.
By the time he passed away, 435 BCE, his teachings termed Dharma were well known throughout
central India. After the rainy season following his death, his disciple Mahakashyapa gathered his most
dedicated followers to establish what they had learned and begin the widespread dispersion of
Buddhism. Sherab Chodzin Kohn, writer for Buddhism for beginners magazine, states that: Ananda,
the Buddha s personal attendant, recited all the Buddha s discourses (sutras), naming the place where
each was given and describing the circumstances. A monk named Upali recited all the rules and
procedures the Buddha had established for the conduct of monastic life. Mahakashyapa himself

The more popular Artistry Uncorked becomes, the more opportunities it would have to grow and

Annheiser and Miller will not be as great s it would have been years ago due to the demand of craft
beer. On the other hand the only service Artistry Uncorked provides is panting essentially. So
expanding to other activities may be tough at first, but through customer feedback and demand the
company would be able to innovate and provide satisfaction. To attract our target audience, Artistry
Uncorked will mainly focus on the uses of online and event marketing. The online aspect would be
used through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Since the majority of the younger generation have if

the future: Meli Marine has perceived an increased demand by its customers for shippings in the Asia
North America lane. The expectation shows that Meli Marine could meet a drop in the growth of its
lane in respect to the previous years while Asia North America lane growth is expected to increase.
Therefore, it is important taking in consideration a diversification. Meli Marine has built a strong

Virginia Horn Project Essay
1.0 Summary Historic data analysis, 3D models, interpretations of geophysical data, prospecting
results and a mineral potential map of the Virginia Horn (VH) project are presented. Comparison of
data from the VH to analog gold hosting rocks in Canada suggest that future exploration should focus
on identifying Au bearing veins in the Midway sequence, within 300 meters of the Pike River fault
(PRF). Specifically, exploration drilling should be conducted in the buried area north of the Jola and
Sopp excavation pit, where the PRF is inferred to have experienced compressional bending and a
silicified/arsenopyrite rich metasediment (?) boulder has been discovered. A high resolution
aeromagnetic (or electromagnetic) survey would enhance a geologic interpretation of the VH, but may
not be necessary as currently available data justify further exploration in the high potential area
outlined in this report.
2.0 Introduction
The VH is located in northern MN, USA, approximately 60 miles north of Duluth and 3 miles
southeast of Virginia. It is named for the abrupt bend in the Proterozoic Biwabik iron formation and
subsequent horn shape of exposed Archean bedrock. Rocks in the VH are part of the southern exposed
margin of the Neoarchean Wawa ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the PFR is considered to be a 2nd order splay off the Fayal Fault (FF), most holes in the VH were
drilled outside the 300 meter buffer that is prospective for hosting significant gold deposits. Although
drill holes in the 2009 and 2010 campaigns did intercept significant Au mineralized zones 800+
meters from the PFR, currently available data suggest these mineralized zones are likely small ore
shoots that will not constitute a large (+1 Moz) and mineable

Corruption In Animal Farm, By George Orwell
Imagine growing up and committing your life to the prosperity of education. Each day you strive to
better yourself in order to provide for your family in the making. Picture pouring all of your hard work
and dedication out to give your child an even better education that you received. In the end, you
discover all of your funding and expenses were used by the school for other political campaigns,
diverting to other private interests rather than your child s needs. This is an example of corruption in
society, just as displayed in the novella Animal Farm, by George Orwell. Condensing the story, main
characters Napoleon and Squealer rise to power and set out to create a paradise of equality and
prosperity for all animals. What the community soon finds is that the growing tyranny leaves the once
bright future crumbling at the seams. Squealer and Napoleon are both narcissists that manipulate
Animal Farm according to their needs only. During the introduction of Animal Farm, Orwell unfolds a
character whose name was Mr. Jones. He was the owner of the Manor Farm with a lack of dictatorship
and leadership skills that left his farm in shambles. The animals on the estate were kicked around and
were given the bare minimum, shown by Orwell when he lists The life on an animal is misery and
slavery: that is the plain truth. Jones s reoccurring drinking problem and reckless behavior shows the
animals something must be done to get rid of him. A satisfactory showcasing of the events in this

Eastern and Western Religions Essay
The Soul According to Eastern amp; Western Religions The idea of the soul varies widely in religious
tradition. While these variations exist, its basic definition is unvarying. The soul can be described as
the ultimate internal principle by which we think, feel, and will, and by which our bodies are
animated. The soul is seen as the core principle of life or as the essence of a being 1. Views on the
permanence of the soul vary throughout religious tradition as well. While some view it as a mortal
entity in flux others believe the soul is an immortal and permanent unit. These interpretations vary
from time period to time period and between religions. These characteristics of the soul are interpreted

Hinduism believes that realizing the soul is the embodiment of Brahman is essential to being released
from the cycle of rebirth, Samsara. Hindus understand that the soul, atman, is permanent and only
inhabits a physical shell which dies and passes the soul on to the next mortal shell, which can be better
or worse than the previous depending on karma. With that said, Hindus believe in rebirth until one
realizes the ultimate divine at which point they would be free from the punarjanma, the transmigration
of the soul, liberating their souls to achieve moksha. Buddhism, on the other hand, challenges Atman
with the belief in Anatman, which is non self. Buddhists believe that the world is constantly changing,
nullifying the concept of the permanent soul, Atman. There is no reason the soul remains unchanged
in a perpetually changing environment. Anatman is the idea of no permanent soul 3. A common
misconception is that Anatman means people have no soul. In reality it describes the constant change
of the soul during its time on earth. Buddhism holds that while there is no soul, the five elements that
make up an individual orient themselves to form a new individual. With each cycle of rebirth, these
aggregates, which include mind, consciousness, body, impulse, and feeling, will combine differently
to form distinct individuals 4. While Buddhists believe in karma, a summation of positive and
negative actions, they

Essay about The Romans, Water and Civilization
For centuries we have known water to be the most essential element of life. Water is unscented, nearly
colorless and flavorless in its most true form. An element found within our own body, found in the
food we eat and the beverages we drink. We use it to cleanse ourselves, our clothes, dishes and just
about everything around us. All forms of life need it, and if they don t get enough of it, they die.
Political disputes have centered on it. In some places, it s treasured and incredibly difficult to get. In
others, it s incredibly easy to get and then squandered. Water became a commodity with the Roman
Empire it was of course required for their existence, therefore, the Roman Empire had to come up with
a way to control and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The usage of mortar helped prevent leaks throughout the aqueducts, but later Roman engineers
switched to concrete instead of stone blocks making them more stable. As population grew in Rome so
was the popularity of fountains and public baths, which required more aqueducts to allow for an
adequate water supply. The aqueducts served 591 lacus (or major delivery points), and each, on
average, delivered 60 cubic meters of water per day (Herschel, 1913). Bruun estimates that each
delivery point served, on average, 900 individuals. This computes to a per capita water use of 67 liters
per day. Like today the Romans used an underground water system and most of that water came from
their aqueducts spread throughout the Roman Empire. According to the book Waterworks: About 10
percent of the total went to the emperor to be used in any way he wished and about 50 percent went to
private customers who paid a tax for the water they received. The remaining 40 percent went to the
military camps, public baths and lavatories, public fountains, and large basins open to the public. The
large public basins provided the main supply of water for the city s poor people, who came and filled
their jugs and buckets at all hours of the day and night.
Water had an influence on making the Roman engineers more daring through the

Summer is just around the corner, and with it will come the usual high temperatures and sweaty

afternoon to drink a cool glass of water before heading to the shower to freshen up. That said, few
things are more discouraging than filling up your glass of water to see not a crystal clear liquid float

of unidentifiable particles haphazardly swimming about. This image is neither appealing to your

It essentially means that there is no valve to control the flow of water from the city s public water
supply and your own, allowing for contamination of both systems. There are two specific types of this
undesirable problem backpressure and backsiphonage. Backpressure problems are caused when the
downstream pressure is greater than the upstream or supply pressure from the public water system;
this scenario occurs from either an increase in downstream pressure, a decrease in water supply
pressure, or a combination of the two. Backsiphonage is, as you have probably figured out, just the
opposite of backpressure that is, it arises from negative pressure in the public water system.
Backsiphonage typically occurs when there is a notable stoppage of water supply to other systems due
to a fire hydrant being in use or a break in the water main. Without getting too technical, the long and
short of this is that neither of these are good news for the sanitation of your water

Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness Illuminates the...
Since the introduction of Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness into society, critics have debated over the
meaning of the ambiguous title. There are many interpretations of this title, but the general consensus
is that in the heart of darkness, you cannot do good: you can only be less evil. The title refers to not
only the physical lack of light in the jungle, but also to the grim consequences of imperialism due to
the stygian heart of mankind.
The first meaning is that the heart of darkness refers to actual lack of light in the book, the jungle in
particular. In the beginning of the novel, Marlow describes that the air was dark above Gravesend (3).
This is foreshadowing of the looming darkness Marlow will face ahead. When Charlie reaches the
edge of the jungle, he describes it as so dark green to be almost black (11). This refers to the
caliginous jungle, but also the corruptive nature of the jungle as seen through the transformation of
Kurtz. Another example of physical darkness occurs when darkness encroaches on Marlow and the
listeners. Marlow describes it as being so pitch dark that we listeners could barely see each other (95).
Marlow observes that the forest draws him in and seems beckon him to explore it. It had a treacherous
appeal to the lurking death, to the hidden evil, to the profound darkness of its heart (36). Marlow
recognizes the lightlessness, but is still drawn to it. This emphasizes the darkness every man and
woman has within them. It is in the

What Is The Theme Of Wysken, Wynken And Nod
Wynken, Blynken and Nod is a famous lullaby written by American poet Eugene Field. It was first
published on March 9, 1889. The original version is a Dutch Lullaby. It is found that this poem is
distinctive as it contains a comprehensible story whereas most of lullabies do not have this feature.
Moreover, its poetic devices and journey motif are remarkable. For instance, diction is used in the
poetry as we can see in the title Wynken, Blynken and Nod to suggest the audience what the poetry is
about. In addition, the story features a journey of three little children that can reflect sociocultural
context in that period. This reflective paper will discuss four elements, namely the narrative, the

To make it clear, the poet uses the young characters to help young readers or listeners more easily
relate the poem with themselves. Moreover, he personifies non living objects to act like human being
which make it more interesting. For example, the poet uses the word ask to make the moon animate
which encourages children to imagine the old moon as an old person ( The old moon asked the three).
Also, personification helps children understand emotion of the character. For instance, The old moon
laughed and sang a song. Children can understand that the moon finds three children ridiculous after
they answer the moon that they are coming to fish in the sky. Furthermore, the poet uses simple
objects and setting to make children easily relate to themselves. For example, he uses wooden shoe
and a trundle bed which are common things in their daily lives. Also, the story takes place in the sky
on one late night. which they can imagine and understand the story easily. Additionally, the use of
diction makes the children enjoy the poem more. For example, the use of the characters names

Why Is Mark Twain Wrong
When people think of the greatest works of literature, the first thing that most people would think of is
great epics or massive adventure stories with eloquent and verbose descriptions. Usually said works
are devoid of any grammatical errors or faultless in structure, organization, and characterization.
However, Mark Twain proved everyone wrong by his work in The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin.
His interesting style of writing proved that the character s viewpoint of the story itself is more
important than staying within reason of correct grammar usage. Mark Twain was easily the most
influential writer of his time because of how and why he wrote his novels. Mark Twain often writes in

Twain conveyed his inner love for the south and its diverse people and culture made The Adventures
of Huckleberry Fin a novel that can, and will stand the test of time in being one of literature s best
works. Twain effectively proved that a refined dialect is not needed to create a masterpiece in the form
of a novel, but rather it is how the characters and setting in the story are described in the light they are
presented in. The way Mark Twain warped the language and dialect of the text to appeal to the
southern states is still a marvel to appreciate to this day. Even if some say that Twain s writing is not
the correct way to be writing a novel, he still managed to depict a certain culture so perfectly that

The Science Forum: What determines the strength of muscles?

The neural adaptation, contraction speed, lever type, several factors involved in determining the power
level of the tendon insertion, and cross sectional area. While others can be improved most, of these
factors are purely genetic and can not be changed.
Motor unit adaptations
Require that motor units are recruited depending on the amount of force. During the first few weeks of
resistance exercise, rapid increase in strength is usually experienced.
As the nervous system adapts to training is due to improvements in motor unit recruitment. Further

Character Of My Last Duchess
The situation seems ludicrous to the reader, because smiling at people does not seem a good enough
reason to be killed. This is a clear indication to the reader that the narrator is mad, and thus unreliable.
The portrayal of the duchess in the duke s words is also an important part of the poem, but the main
goal of My Last Duchess is the exploration of the mind of the speaker. The description of the duchess
makes clear that the duke is obviously not in his right mind. He does not gain any self knowledge by
the end of the poem: he blames others for their mistakes to disguise his own. The duke avoids self
examination and refuses to look at his faults, or even admit that he has faults. The painting of the

which will not embarrass or upset him. His life is care free with only the painting in his life, but still

What Browning is doing in My Last Duchess is making a case for an immoral position. The dramatic
monologue is the perfect instrument for this, because of the tension between sympathy and moral
judgment. Those immoral positions are an act of free will of the characters. The fact that there is a
split between moral judgment and sympathy allows the reader to read the poem from the point of view
of the speaker, and even sympathies with him or her, but the reader does not have to adopt that point
of view or to agree with it.
So one could conclude that the duke is a character the reader prefers to identify him or herself with,

In 2000, the World Health Organization and UNICEF identified some 2.4 billion people who did not have basic sanitation facilities, and 1.1 billion people without a safe drinking water supply. Sucrose And Fermentation As expected, the hypothesis stated before the experiment was proven correct because the different substrates did have an effect on the rate of fermentation in the yeast cells (Table 2). However, the predictions of how each substrate would affect the rate of fermentation were not illustrated in the results of this experiment. For example, before the experiment it was predicted that the substrate glucose would produce the highest rate of fermentation, but the flask containing glucose along with the yeast cells, flask two, had a lower rate of fermentation than two other flasks. Food and drink such as alcohol and bread rely on the process of alcoholic fermentation, so the most efficient substrate is an important factor for quick production of these products (Aidoo et al., 2006). Based on the findings of this experiment, I would suggest using glucose before fructose as substrate for this process and sucrose before maltose based purely on their rates of fermentation. However, further testing should be done to test the rate of fermentation over a longer period of time as this experiment was completed after only twenty minutes of fermentation. • 27. Corruption In Animal Farm, By George Orwell Imagine growing up and committing your life to the prosperity of education. Each day you strive to better yourself in order to provide for your family in the making. Picture pouring all of your hard work and dedication out to give your child an even better education that you received. In the end, you discover all of your funding and expenses were used by the school for other political campaigns, diverting to other private interests rather than your child s needs. This is an example of corruption in society, just as displayed in the novella Animal Farm, by George Orwell. Condensing the story, main characters Napoleon and Squealer rise to power and set out to create a paradise of equality and prosperity for all animals. What the community soon finds is that the growing tyranny leaves the once bright future crumbling at the seams. Squealer and Napoleon are both narcissists that manipulate Animal Farm according to their needs only. During the introduction of Animal Farm, Orwell unfolds a character whose name was Mr. Jones. He was the owner of the Manor Farm with a lack of dictatorship and leadership skills that left his farm in shambles. The animals on the estate were kicked around and were given the bare minimum, shown by Orwell when he lists The life on an animal is misery and slavery: that is the plain truth. Jones s reoccurring drinking problem and reckless behavior shows the animals something must be done to get rid of him. A satisfactory showcasing of the events in this ... A customer fire drill could arise (Eshelman, 2011); a sudden change in the organization, budgetary cuts, and so forth. A bulk of the daily work load is spent on managerial duties, such as dealing with the problems at hand (Eshelman, 2011), making decisions, leading employees, and ensuring a natural flow of projects and operations. Two of the most critical managerial issues Mr. Eshelman describes are budgeting and employee relations. The company must have employees, products, and other resources to run the business in a profitable manner. It is a manager s responsibility to weigh the balance of effectiveness vs. efficiency and profit vs. loss on a constant basis. While these variations exist, its basic definition is unvarying. The soul can be described as the ultimate internal principle by which we think, feel, and will, and by which our bodies are animated. The soul is seen as the core principle of life or as the essence of a being 1. Views on the permanence of the soul vary throughout religious tradition as well. Hinduism believes that realizing the soul is the embodiment of Brahman is essential to being released from the cycle of rebirth, Samsara. Hindus understand that the soul, atman, is permanent and only inhabits a physical shell which dies and passes the soul on to the next mortal shell, which can be better or worse than the previous depending on karma. With that said, Hindus believe in rebirth until one realizes the ultimate divine at which point they would be free from the punarjanma, the transmigration of the soul, liberating their souls to achieve moksha. Buddhism, on the other hand, challenges Atman with the belief in Anatman, which is non self. Buddhists believe that the world is constantly changing, nullifying the concept of the permanent soul, Atman. There is no reason the soul remains unchanged in a perpetually changing environment. Anatman is the idea of no permanent soul 3. A common misconception is that Anatman means people have no soul. In reality it describes the constant change of the soul during its time on earth. Buddhism holds that while there is no soul, the five elements that make up an individual orient themselves to form a new individual. With each cycle of rebirth, these aggregates, which include mind, consciousness, body, impulse, and feeling, will combine differently to form distinct individuals 4. Water is unscented, nearly colorless and flavorless in its most true form. An element found within our own body, found in the food we eat and the beverages we drink. We use it to cleanse ourselves, our clothes, dishes and just about everything around us. All forms of life need it, and if they don t get enough of it, they die. Political disputes have centered on it. In some places, it s treasured and incredibly difficult to get. In others, it s incredibly easy to get and then squandered. The usage of mortar helped prevent leaks throughout the aqueducts, but later Roman engineers switched to concrete instead of stone blocks making them more stable. As population grew in Rome so was the popularity of fountains and public baths, which required more aqueducts to allow for an adequate water supply. The aqueducts served 591 lacus (or major delivery points), and each, on average, delivered 60 cubic meters of water per day (Herschel, 1913). Bruun estimates that each delivery point served, on average, 900 individuals. This computes to a per capita water use of 67 liters per day. Like today the Romans used an underground water system and most of that water came from their aqueducts spread throughout the Roman Empire. According to the book Waterworks: About 10 percent of the total went to the emperor to be used in any way he wished and about 50 percent went to private customers who paid a tax for the water they received. The remaining 40 percent went to the military camps, public baths and lavatories, public fountains, and large basins open to the public. The large public basins provided the main supply of water for the city s poor people, who came and filled their jugs and buckets at all hours of the day and night. Backsiphonage is, as you have probably figured out, just the opposite of backpressure that is, it arises from negative pressure in the public water system. • 34. Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness Illuminates the... Since the introduction of Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness into society, critics have debated over the meaning of the ambiguous title. There are many interpretations of this title, but the general consensus is that in the heart of darkness, you cannot do good: you can only be less evil. The title refers to not only the physical lack of light in the jungle, but also to the grim consequences of imperialism due to the stygian heart of mankind. The first meaning is that the heart of darkness refers to actual lack of light in the book, the jungle in particular. In the beginning of the novel, Marlow describes that the air was dark above Gravesend (3). This is foreshadowing of the looming darkness Marlow will face ahead. When Charlie reaches the edge of the jungle, he describes it as so dark green to be almost black (11). This refers to the caliginous jungle, but also the corruptive nature of the jungle as seen through the transformation of Kurtz. Another example of physical darkness occurs when darkness encroaches on Marlow and the listeners. Marlow describes it as being so pitch dark that we listeners could barely see each other (95). Marlow observes that the forest draws him in and seems beckon him to explore it. It had a treacherous appeal to the lurking death, to the hidden evil, to the profound darkness of its heart (36). Marlow recognizes the lightlessness, but is still drawn to it. This emphasizes the darkness every man and woman has within them. It is in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, Mark Twain proved everyone wrong by his work in The Adventures of Huckleberry Fin. His interesting style of writing proved that the character s viewpoint of the story itself is more important than staying within reason of correct grammar usage.
