the things that are occurring around the people on and near the beach. In lines five and six, Frost is
personifying the ship by saying that it keeps raising or building its hull. Ships are already personified
(for the most part) because most often they are given human names and are considered female. In this
case, however, Frost is not really regarding the ship as any single gender, mainly to put his point

Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy (often known as CP) is a term that broadly covers a number of conditions in which a
person has an impairment of their motor function. Though motor skills are essential in living a normal
lifestyle, living with CP is completely manageable in today s modern world. Currently, there is no
definite cure to offset the symptoms of CP, but there are a number of treatments that can mitigate the
various effects of the condition. In this paper, I would like to discuss the effects of cerebral palsy, the
treatments involved, quality of life for those who are affected, and future research regarding the
condition. A spastic form of paralysis, cerebral palsy is notable because the muscles of an affected
body are involuntarily contracting, causing random spasms in every day movement. Cerebral palsy
affects about 1 in 323 children in America, making it the most common motor disability in children
living in America (CDC). Due to it being caused by brain injury or brain malformation, most
individuals with Cerebral Palsy are born with it, while a minority of those affected can acquire it later
on in life (CerebralPalsy). Impairments resulting from CP vary on a case by case basis, though it
usually correlates on the amount of brain damage that is present in the individual (CerebralPalsy).
Symptoms of cerebral palsy can include stiffness in muscles, variations in muscle tone, a lack in
muscle coordination, and many others (Mayo Clinic). These symptoms be relatively

These two studies investigated the effects of the April 2010 BP Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of
Mexico, and the observable effects that it has had on coral reef and salt marsh ecosystems. The study
conducted by White investigated nine coral communities six months after the spill using ROVs. In an
area 11 km west of the spill site, the researchers studied scleractinian, gorgonian, antipatharian corals
and found many that were covered with floc, a brown flocculent material, that is linked to coral tissue
damage and mortality. The study conducted by Silliman et. al. investigated the oil spill impacts on the
salt marshes lining the Louisiana coast. Silliman and his team identify oil spills as one of the most
damaging forms of pollution due to their unpredictable nature and associated lack of readily available
tools and resources that would be needed to restrict their impact on nearby ecosystems. The team
studied salt marshes located in Barataria Bay, LA which was one the regions that experienced some of
the most extensive oiling from the spill. The team investigated the current status and future impacts of
the spill on the marshes. Past data revealed that negative impacts on marshes could be corrected with
plant re growth and oil degradation that naturally occurs with time, and at even faster rates in warmer
climates, which provides a hopeful outlook for the LA region. In addition to the direct effects of
